His name is Eight. Not really, but that’s what the System decided after a slip of the tongue. One moment, he was stepping out the office door on the way home, and the next waking up on a hillside below a town wall. Oh, and the gate guard drove him off, because he thought Eight was a monster.
Life’s tough when you’re trapped in an eight-year old body on another world.
Slow, slice-of-life story. Lost in the woods, but able to use memories from former life to survive and thrive.
Heavy crafting component, focusing on primitive tools and gradually working up. Magic is strong but limited, with multiple paths.
MC presents as an 8 yr old, so zero romance. Original life as a Mexican-American working as a documentary film producer, which informs his knowledge of primitive crafting.
This book could not be any higher rated for me. It genuinely serves as a definition of greatness for the genre. I'm one of the pickiest readers you'll ever meet. So I say with confidence-- you will love this. If not for it's characters, then for its world, and its plot, and its incredible style of writing.
