Bear Willis: Mountain Man: The Making Of A Mountain Man

Rate this book
A brand new Mountain Man adventure from Peter Alan Turner!

Bear Willis has been a Mountain Man and trapper. He was adopted by the Pawnee and feared by the Shoshone. A life long friend of Texas Rangers Chet Henderson and Jeff Collins, Bear is always ready to come to their aid. But who is Bear, really? Where did he get the name Bear? Why is he married to three Indian women?

In “Bear The Making of a Mountain Book One,” Bear reveals his trials and tribulations for the first time.  How did he narrowly escape death, time and time again? Why did the Shoshone think Bear was a Shapeshifter? How did he survive alone in a cave through a Rocky Mountain winter? Who is the Viking?

This is the first in a series of books about Bear Willis. Venturing into the wilderness as an eighteen-year-old greenhorn, Bear earns the respect of fellow Mountain Men. Through grit, guts, and a little bit of luck, ‘Bear’ becomes a legend among the Indians and whites. Grab your copy today!

Writing has always been a lifelong dream. Finally, at 71 years young, that dream became a reality. I am honored to be part of Dusty Saddles Publishing, the leading publisher of Western Novels. Currently, I have several Western Series on Amazon: Chet Henderson: Texas Ranger Adventure Series, Bear Willis: Mountain Man Series, and Willie McGee: Mountain Man Series. Along with a co-write with my granddaughter.

In creating my Westerns, I wanted to do three things, be authentic, create likable characters, and tell a good story. With a lot of hard work and prayer, my books have been well received, so, I must be doing something right.

I live with my wife of fifty-three years and our cat Moxie on Rattlesnake Ridge. We are lucky that our children, grandchildren, and great-grandson all live close by. When I'm not writing, I enjoy woodcarving, fishing, and pampering my classic Jaguar.

I donate a portion of the profits from my books to Veteran charities, including the Veteran’s Independence Project.

Good read

From the first page of Bear Willis I knew that this would be a good book and it was. It tells the life of Bear, so named by his size and the bear rug he was wearing when he frighted two Indians when they found him in a cave and he looked like a bear when taken in to an Indian village and told his story to the Chef and the tribe then gave him the name of Bear and that was what he was given. He had several adventures in the mountains and become a Mountain man and well respected. Will buy the second novel of his life.

Bear Willis: Survivor

I know what it takes to survive and Bear Willis doesn't see the world he lives in , as others. No matter what happens in our lives we must live by our priorities . Bear does.
This is why I gave 5 stars.
