Renowned Kall expert Layla Remington is horrified when her estranged husband, Michael, murders a Kall female named Shessema in cold blood. She knew he was sympathetic to the human rebel cause, but she never believed he'd take his hatred for the conquering aliens so far. When she's summoned before a Kall court, the ancient Custom of Retribution is followed--Layla is given to Shessema's grieving husband, General Zamek, to do with as he pleases.
His mercy comes with a price...
General Zamek arrives at the courtroom, intending to exact his vengeance immediately and take Layla's life. But one look into her soulful dark eyes and he falters. Instead of driving a sword through her heart, he carries her off, telling himself he'll avenge Shessema's death by making Layla suffer before he eventually kills her. But the first time he hurts her, nothing goes as planned, and he soon finds himself becoming fiercely possessive--and protective--of the little human female whose life will forever belong to him.
USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR SUE LYNDON writes naughty, heartfelt romance filled with sexy discipline, breathless surrender, and scorching hot passion. Hard alpha males, strict husbands, fierce alien warriors, and stern daddy-doms make her go weak in the knees. She’s a #1 Amazon bestseller in multiple categories, including Sci-Fi Romance, Historical Romance, BDSM Erotica, and Fantasy Romance. She also writes vanilla sci-fi romance under the name Sue Mercury—but no matter the genre or pen name, her books always have a swoon-worthy happily ever after.
I found this Sci-fi alien romance absolute outstanding to read & the very intriguing dark undertone combined with a “second chance” undertone definitely kept my attention until the end. The plot is well-paced & has some very suspenseful situations, the scene descriptions are excellent & there is good world building. The complex characters are well-depicted as unique individuals with realistic emotional feelings & in the beginning, the male character (General Zamek) is bent on revenge for the murder of his wife (Shessema) by the rebel husband (Michael Remington, who committed suicide after this) & he was inclined to cold & brutal towards the female character (Layla Remington) but as time passes he becomes quite protective & loving towards her. I am not going to repeat the blurb as I feel the author more than adequately explained the storyline. There is: various kinds of aliens, Kall warriors, humans, rebels, slavery, auctions, villainous villains, twists & turns, drama, suspense, intrigue, action, deceit, threats, danger, conflict, violence, memories, abuse, prejudices, vengeful feelings, injustice, retribution, punishment, pain, fear, regrets, decisions, ultimatums, discipline, spankings, compromises, confrontations, manipulations, love, contentment, some steamy scenes & a well-deserved happy conclusion for this couple.

This is a darker sci-fi romance novel with some instances of domestic violence in the beginning. At first Layla is fighting with her older husband, who is prone to violence after the death of his son in the initial Kall 👺invasion. She finally flees when she fears for her own safety, only to be given to General Zamek👹💪🔪🔫 to do with as he pleases. At the very least, she will be his slave by Kall law.
The book is interesting but a little slow going in the middle, as Layla💃💋 is imprisoned in the brig on the General's ship🚀. This is definitely an ADULT novel with graphic descriptions of the ADULT situations .
Simply fantastic read, stunning and thrilling impossible to put down until read Layla cannot believe how her life has changed in the last month since she found herself being tried for her dead husbands’ crimes. Michael had taken the life of an innocent Kall female as she had been out for a leisurely walk, stabbing her ten times in the abdomen and leaving her to die alone and afraid in the street on earth. General Zamek did not know whether to take the woman’s life in the court and had decided to take her on his ship as his slave to punish when he desired, however after her first whipping his feelings had changed for the small human who lay before him crying and whimpering in pain. Their time on the spaceship had been used well and Zamek had found that his feelings for the human started to grow for the human, she had started to return his feelings and he had moved her to his cabin from the prison. When they arrived on Kall Zamek had explained that a tracker had to be implanted and that she would be regarded as his slave however in his eyes this was not the case. In the privacy of his home and around his family she would be his Mistress, anyone that had expressed a negative opinion had soon been put in their place and knew to never question his motives again. However, when General Zamek lands at his home it seems that one of the officers is trying to insist that he kills Layla, if he fails, he is going to remove her and have her killed in the town square and then he is going to have General Zamek demoted. Instantly Zamek challenges him in a fight to the death and Layla watches in horror as Zamek fights the Kall officer knowing that Layla’s life is in his hands. This was a wonderful read and I cannot tell you how much you will find yourself totally captivated by the read and will not be able to put the book down until you reach the end.. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Retribution is the third book in the Kall Alien Warriors series and can be read as a standalone but has some of the same overlapping characters. Sue Lyndon gives us a gripping story with suspense, angst, hot passion and a second chance at love for both characters. Earth has been conquered by the Kalls but pockets of human resistance continues. Layla Remington, an expert on Kall society and norms, is blamed when her estranged husband, Michael, murders a Kall female named Shessema. Shessema is the wife of General Zemak and he is given the right of retribution to avenge the death of his wife. The only problem is that Michael is no longer there to face his just rewards; Layla will be punished in his stead. Entering the courtroom, Layla fully expects to be killed. However, for reasons even he can’t explain Zemak spares her life and takes her aboard his vessel as his slave. He is drawn to the small human and finds that he can’t resist her allure. How will this high ranking general explain to the high council that he wants this human to be more than his slave or his mistress? Both characters are so interesting and entertaining! This is a fantastic addition to my escapist love stories! Can’t wait for the next book!

“Retribution: A Dark Sci-Fi Romance” is the third book in the Kall Alien Warriors series and continues to be, as breathtaking and amazing as, the first two books. It does not disappoint! Layla Remington and General Zamek have a lot to cope with and at times, they can’t find their way and all seems lost. In the beginning, a highly respected, sexy, Hot Kall Warrior, General Zamek is bent on revenge for the murder of his wife, Shessema by the rebel husband Michael Remington, who committed suicide after this act, leaving his wife to face the consequences. In the Kall culture, the wife receives the fate of her husband and the courts have decided she belongs to General Zamek and he is to kill her. She is the retribution for his deed and will have to take his place and take all the punishment because of his actions. Ummm, not a happy fate for a kind hearted, gentle Layla. Zamek is cold and brutal towards her but as time passes, he sees that she is an innocent and he becomes protective and loving towards her. The writing is excellent, the plot is intriguing with many twists, turns and suspense. The characters are complex and realistic in their feelings and attempts to understand what lies ahead for them in the future. I adore the story telling capabilities and power of Sue Lyndon and can’t wait for the next venture!
Definitely on the darker side of the romance but it is not all doom and gloom. You can understand how Zamek would be so conflicted with what had happened to his wife but then also, seemingly encouraged by the laws of his kind, to commit what could be a seen as an equivalent atrocity. Grief does make you do strange things. Layla understands more than the usual bride about the Kall. She has lived amongst his people on his own planet for a couple of years before the war. There isn’t the standard misunderstandings of culture you usually get but it seems that wherever you might be in the universe males will never truly understand females and vice versa. It is really good story and you do become so engaged with the characters. You will them to find the right path. The title does give some hint to this being a bit more than just a romance. There are some items of violence towards women so I just want to flag that in case as I know this can be trigger.

One moment can have so many, lasting, consequences..
"I know my purpose. These four words struck fear into her heart."
Layla's marriage was collapsing under its own weight, falling apart a bit more each day... until the day she suddenly wondered if it had ever been the happy union she thought she remembered.
Zamek knew he was going to war, but he never imagined after the war was won, in a safe suburb tragedy would find his bride... nor could he fathom feeling anything other than a need for Retribution when it came to the one who lived with the criminal who destroyed his happy life, and turned a blind eye.
This done in one Kindle Unlimited book deals with grief, the complexities of the human heart, and love, the realization that the physical victim of a crime is not the only person hurt, and all the lengths we'll go to find a creative solution when we're told something can't be done.
Having read the other books in this series, this one does tie into them, but stands solidly on its own.
Once more we have a fabulous story by Sue Lyndon that is definitely another winner in my opinion. From the start to the finish we follow the story of Lyla whose husband (of a few years) has recently changed. He murdered a women, then decided to kill himself. He was a Rebel against the Kall. But what happened next was that she was made to account for his actions, given to the man whose wife was murdered. General Zamek promised his dead wife that he will make whoever was responsible pay. This was his second wife that had now died and in his culture it put him in a bad light. However when he saw Layla and from what he had heard from her friends he just couldnt kill her, instead he took he home to do with as he wished. He would make her pay, but despite his feelings, he just couldnt do it, instead he soon developed other feelings!!
A very enjoyable story to say the least, and im sure you will just love this as well!!
When General Zamek’s wife is murdered by a human rebel, Zamek calls for the act of Retribution. Unfortunately the human rebel took his own life straight after, however he had a wife, Layla. Zamek is determined to exact revenge by killing Layla once the judge approves it. Only when the time comes he can’t bring himself to do it. Instead he takes her aboard his warship and locks her in the brig. After punishing her with a leather strap once, he feels guilty and he can’t fathom why. As time goes on they grow closer together and start a physical relationship. Once they reach the Kall home world he will have no choice but to register her as a slave.
This is a great read which see the characters go from a hate - love relationship in which they eventually marry. There are elements of spanking as a punishment and consensual.

This is the third book in the series. You do not have to read the first two books in the series to enjoy this book, but it would help. Layla's husband, who she just left that day, kills a Kall female on the street. Then he proceeds to kill himself, leaving Layla to hold the bag. The Custom of Retribution holds her responsible for her husband's actions and she is given to the husband of the female killed, who just happens to be a general, to do with as he pleases. At first he thinks he will kill her, but as he gets to know Layla, he finds himself attracted to her. The problem is that many Kall do not understand why he would not kill her. Layla and Zamek have their HEA, but it is a perilous journey there.

OMG, I thought Betsy’s story was sad and a tear jerker. Layla’s is so much more. Her scum of a husband put her in the position she is in. He murdered General Zamek wife Shessema. He was also par to of the rebellion and abused Layla. Layla is a good woman that thougth she loved Michael but he wasn’t what she thought. She is going to be the retribution for his deed. She will have to take his place and bare all the pain and punishment because of what he did. I cried. Zamek was grief stricken and I can understand the anger. Thank goodness he finally calmed and realized that what Layla said was true. These two both lost someone and were alone. They needed each other and needed to make changes to some of the old ways of the Kall. This one will definitely pull at your heart. This was not going to be easy and there were those that did not agree. But Zamek fought for what he knew was right.
Zamek and Laila have both suffered the loss of their respective spouses in devastating manners; Zamek's loss was due to a brutal and senseless murder, and Laila as her spouse became angrier, drunker, and more abusive. Laila's fear and anger towards her husband is strong, but is dwarfed by the consuming and physical terror of being brutally murdered in a manner that is both intimate and public.
Threads of tension continue as the two grapple with cultural expectations, rational thought, irrational feelings, and morality. Laila sympathizes with the man who is expected to kill her and his loss, and Zamek goes beyond the realization that killing an innocent is not justice for the murder of another innocent. An engrossing and enthralling read!

Under the Kall Law of Retribution General Zamek can torture or kill Layla in any way he sees fit. Layla Remington is considered the Earth expert on the Kall and had spent two years there after finishing college so when her estranged husband kills a Kall female then kills himself she know what will happen. The Kall Law of Retribution means that as his next of kin the victims husband General Zamek will be given the right by the court to torture and kill her in any way he sees fit to do so. Sitting in court and seeing a trap being laid to catch the blood when he kills her has her shaking and crying in fear. Then the fully armed General Zamek walks in. An exciting alien romance to relax and enjoy.

A really good story. l really enjoyed this new book in the series and learning more about parts of the Kall homeworld. General Zamek's new wife is savagely murdered by a human and by Kall law he is entitled to revenge but the killer is already dead, leaving his bloodlust unfulfilled. Then he is informed the dead man left behind a wife who will take his place! But it doesn't seem he wants to torture and/or kill Layla. For reasons he hasn't quite worked out he visits her in her cell aboard his ship again and again. Layla finds his scent comforting despite the fact he whipped her. And then there is that ache. The general really is good to look at....

This book is more intense and in my opinion, the best of the three! We know Layla from previous books. Her husband of 2 years has turned violent towards her and has become a completely different man. He commits a heinous crime and dies. Layla is stuck paying for his crimes in the Kall court. General Zamek is ready to kill the wife of the man who killed his beloved Shessema. Except when he meets her he doesn't wish to kill her right away. Over time things begin to change within Zamek's heart and head but is it enough to save her from the execution that was awarded to him by the court? I loved the epilogue. It ended well but I feel like we have more books coming in this series. Either that or it is just my wishful thinking because I would love to read more!
A terrific and fulfilling read! This is a tough one, how do you celebrate love when it comes at the price of your mate? I was curious how Sue Lyndon would handle the very delicate conundrum that this book is based on. She did a marvelous job. The plot was well thought out and within the sci-fi and fantasy realms, reasonable for continuity and believability.
This book is filled with a lot of action, warlike and sexual, scenes of betrayal and injustice are integral to the plotline. The only downfall is that you are left wanting more.

Layla is married to Michael. Due to the Kall war and the loss of his son, Michael joins a group of rebels and kills the wife of General Zamek. The General is hurt and furious and demands to be given Michael, but Michael has already committed suicide. Now, he demands retribution in the form of Layla.
The General decides to take Layla with him and punish her slowly until he kills her. His first punishment with a wide leather strap causes her pain and fear. It triggers something else in him. Does the general feel the revenge he craves? Is he relieved by watching her pain? What will he do next?
I would give this more stars if I could! I loved Zamek and Layla's story. When Layla's mentally unbalanced husband stabs to death a Kall General's mate, Kall justice demands retribution. Because Layla is expert on Kall culture and her husband killed himself, she will need to pay the price. When General Zamek goes to court to take revenge, he decides instead to take her and prolong things. But the chemistry grows and over the trip back to his home, they begin to know each other. This book is intense, great characters, well paced, super steamy, and so, so good. My favorite yet!

I love this series. The author really made you dislike Layla's husband so much. So sad, that she has to be the one to pay for what her husband did. After he murdered General Zamek's wife Shessema and abused Layla the courts gave her to General Zamek for retribution. He was allowed to do whatever he wanted to do to Layla, he could even take her life. I cried, disliked her husband so much. But instead of killing Layla he found that what she said was the truth and their relationship changed. There is drama, suspense, and steam. They get their HEA but it take some detours along with way. This amazing book 3 in The Kall Alien Warriors Book Series is a steamy, full of action, standalone full-length, Alien Romance with a sexy, possessive, rugged and irresistible alpha male and his female. This well written book has entertaining and wonderful characters who have great personalities and interactions. This has an entertaining storyline with good depth and interesting world construction. These Characters in this book are well constructed with issues that they overcome and the characters evolve throughout story. A must read

Fascist dictatorship glorifying the military. Ring any bells? Stereotypes based on "race" to enslave and oppress a group of people. Ring any bells yet? People put in CAMPS where they are abused and mistreated just because they don't belong to the dominant race. Ring any bells now? All of this happens in this book. All of it also happened in Europe during WWII. Are those bells ringing now? This alien race was so much like Nazis that at some point the story felt way too much like a Nazi General "loved" the Jewish prisoner from Auschwitz, whom he was taking to Berlin to live while promising her he would keep her safe. Yeah. I'm out.
Oh man, I just love this book series! The third book is also wonderfully written and I can only recommend it. I found Layla and Zamek lovely as a couple and I could empathize with all of the inner conflicts between the two. A lot of heartbreak, passion and really hot dirty talk from Zamek - what more could you want! I really hope that there will be a lot more books to come!!! I think I exaggerated the exclamation marks a bit, but only because I'm so excited about the book...

Another addition to the Kall Warrior Series, Retribution is a gritty story of love found among war’s aftermath. I enjoyed the character of General Zamak...an alpha and totally hot. Layla is thrown into circumstances that she had little control over but makes the best out of it. I. Gave this one four stars because I would like to see the slavery aspect eliminated...let the Kall be a warrior race but temper some of their “laws”. The plot is basically the same as the previous books in this series...slavery to wife. I’d like to see some growth in the story.
I really enjoyed Layla and Zamek's story. Though Draken (Edek's brother from book 2) is my favorite Kall, Zamek, Edek, and Merokk are all great characters.
I love how these rigid Kall warriors learn compassion and to see how their laws don't always fit the crime. As usual when someone shows compassion, there is always someone else that is upset by the compassion shown which is the major point of contention in this story. This story took a small detour but bounced right back to Layla's predicament. The ending is quite good and I would really love to see more of the Kall, just to see if the human influence could really change the them.
This was an uncomfortable situation for Layla and Zamek as they were both suffering due Micheal (Layla's husband) killing Zamek's wife. I felt for both of them and the unfair circumstances that brought them together. I was glad when Zamek finally saw reason and did not blame Layla for Michael's heinous actions. They slowly begin the process of healing and soon develop feelings for each other despite everything that has happened between them. I really did enjoy Zamek and Layla and it was really heartwarming seeing them still find love and happiness.
3.5 stars I think General Zamek has the most growth in this story. At the start he has minimal respect for humans who very quickly were conquered. After his second wife was murdered while on a peaceful walk to the park, his hatred for them quickly became dominant. Wanting to take revenge, he accepts Leila as the proxy for the man who committed the crime. Slowly her emotions and her needs showed that not all humans were alike. But it's not until he realizes that his thoughts have changed and he sees how inflexible he was that adjusts to his new life.
Zamek and Layla can be added to the list of Kall/human mates that will melt your Kindle with their chemistry. This author’s world building talent is such that you accept her alien species as if they were real and can imagine the scenes as if they come to life right off the pages. I read this book in one sitting as it was impossible to put down. I kept saying one more chapter until suddenly I was reading the epilogue and sadly had to return to reality. I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next.
This sci-fi has everything a pinch of power exchange, action, drama and I loved it! A human killed his wife and now General Zamek is granted the retribution against the human Layla because her human husband killed his wife and committed suicide afterwards. Now the general has Layla as his slave to treat her as his sees fit and revenge his wife, but something happens during the trip back to call and the general starts to have a change of heart.

This is the 3rd book in the Kall Alien Warriors series but it can be read as a stand-alone. Layla’s husband kills a Kall female named Shessema in cold blood. She is then summoned before the Kall court and due to their ancient Custom of Retribution, Layla is given to Shessema’s husband, General Zamek. He had planned to take vengeance on Layla but when he sees her, he decides to take her and make her suffer first. What will happen when he wants her to be his? Fast-paced sci-fi read with loads of drama, suspense and steam. Great world building with plenty of twists and turns. I liked it.
I love the story and the series. Layla is a renowned expert on the Kall. She is married and her husband has become abusive since the death of his son. She goes to a friends house to get away from him and he leaves home and murders a general's kall wife. Now Layla is having to pay the price for her husband crime since he killed himself. She is terrified of the general as he promises to make her suffer for the death of his wife. What will happen to Layla? Must read to find out.
