This is a great anthology written by some great authors.
My review is for Ashley McLeo’s Chosen by the Fae Prince. It’s a well written story that draws you in from the beginning as we meet Kora a fire witch and her journey to Faerie to save her mother. An exciting read filled with action, suspense, twists and turns, drama and a little romance, that’s so good that I read it in one sitting! Now off to read the other stories!

Note: Although blurb says there are 20 stories, there are actually only 19. Overall score of 66.5 ÷ 19 = 3.5
This anthology is 2,631 pages so it's obviously going to ruin my goal of trying to finish a book every 1-2 days. Oh well. There go this year’s stats.
Rejected by the Alpha, Skye Alder 3 stars - Sascha is an undersized deer shifter. Killian is the Alpha of a large pack in Montana. She follows his scent to his location whereupon he rejects her as she does not meet his expectations for a mate. She later performs a heroic deed and the remainder of the story is him groveling and them having lots of sex.
Growl for Me, J.L. Beck & C. Hallman 2 stars - Way too many misspellings and misuse of words. Sometimes the meaning of a sentence is totally lost. Olive is running away from her past when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere. She trudges through the woods until she comes upon an unlocked cabin which she promptly enters and makes herself at home. Ryan, the owner of the cabin, is a wolf shifter and realizes that although she is human, she’s also his fated mate. Why would a virgin Ryan have a butt plug? Where did Olive's, “small amount of make-up” come from? Ryan’s brothers ask, “Are you really mated?” Don’t they see the mate mark? It kind of defeats the whole purpose of it if that doesn’t prove it. Did Olive ever get around to marking Ryan?
Princess, Ariel Marie 3 stars - Nadira is the only daughter of the king of vampires. An immediate attraction occurs between her and a human cop named Cooper when they see each other in a diner. A brother forces her to make Cooper forget her. Fate has other ideas when they meet again after she’s involved in a car accident. The son of the necromancer king is claiming she’s his betrothed and is willing to go to war to claim her. Cooper is eventually drawn into her life and somewhat accepted by her family.
Temperance and the Dragon, Rianne Thaxton 4 stars - Temperance is a guardian angel who is punished for accidentally letting one of her charges be killed in a fire. She is stripped of her wings and informed that she will have to succeed at seven trials within a year before they’re restored. If she fails she will die. Chapter 1 resumes 11 months and 2 weeks later. Someone is killing nascent witches. Saving the next victim is her final task. Sin is one of the few remaining dragons, long thought extinct. He is also tasked to protect the witch. He knows immediately when he sees Temperance that she is his fated mate. It turns out angels and dragons are sworn enemies. Temperance’s test turns into a much bigger challenge than anticipated.
Bella and her Beast, ML Preston 2 stars - Am I the only one who finds that a guy who turns into a werewolf manscaping is hilarious? The plot to this story was pretty good, however, the wording seemed stilted and it was hard for me to empathize with the characters. There were glimpses where I could relate to what was happening but unfortunately not many.
Queen’s Plight, Jamie K. Schmidt 3 stars - There have only been five female dragons for eons and suddenly they are popping up all over the place. Dierdre morphs into a Queen and her boss, Fontaine, also a dragon, is now enamored of her.
So Dierdre’s a new Queen living in Colorado with two kids, an ex-husband and a lover. Why in hell’s name are she and the kids going to relocate to Washington D.C.? Her daughter is already so insistent about wanting to see her father that I can’t imagine moving thousands of miles away meets with her approval.
She’d spent long enough in her marriage doing the cooking and cleaning and baby raising without any recognition or break, and honestly, it was the last thing she wanted to get back to.
Hello? You’re a queen and I’m sure you have cooks and maids and nannies to relieve the necessity of you doing these tasks single-handedly. And as far as recognition goes - pffft. You’re a freaking queen with dragon studs falling at your feet. Get real. Dierdre gets kidnapped a couple of times before she and Fontaine finally get their HEA.
Dragon Desire, Lilliana Rose 2 1/2 stars - Keili is terrified of flying. She and her friends are supposed to take a chartered flight but she freezes and can’t board. Blaze is a dragon and one of the pilots who manages to talk her into the plane. Keili and Blaze meet for dinner, sex on the beach and a promised lunch the following day. A dragon/human relationship is forbidden yet Blaze knows Keili is his fated mate. It all works out in the end with hardly any obstacles put in their way. What happened to Mitch? Blaze has a scar on his arm that he claims he was born with. Is a scar even possible without injury or surgery?
Chosen by the Fae Prince, Ashley McLeo 4 1/2 stars - This reads more like an actual book than a short story. There are in-depth explanations of the character’s emotions and reactions to situations. Kora inadvertently follows Aiden (actually Prince Aidoneus) into the Fae realm. The Spring Court had been cursed by a mage who had been rejected as a potential bride for the prince. This caused the land to suffer perpetual winter and fae are being turned into monsters. There are two princesses from other courts there for the courting season; one in particular has set her cap for the prince. Kora must navigate a frigid land, a hostile rival, help break the curse and find a flower that will cure her mother’s illness. No pressure.
Wolf, Let Down Your Guard, Deana J Holmes & Nova Blake 3 1/2/stars - Shifter suppresses his wolf as he feels it's uncontrollable after a massacre during a mission. He now works as a bodyguard for the executive daughter of the head of a major corporation. It turns out her father is aware of supernaturals and has scientists working in a secret lab trying to mutate beings for an army. Of course it all goes wrong but our hero prevails and saves the girl and the planet.
One-Night Bite, T. M. Caruana 4 stars - Ella is a witch/vampire cross. A king has been murdered and she is assigned to watch over the adult prince until the murderer is found. She and the prince bump uglies and a coworker she has a crush on discovers this. Both the coworker and prince hate supes and think they should all be eliminated. Neither are aware of Ella's heritage. The investigation continues until the perp is caught. The prince is still interested in Ella and the relationship with her coworker is murky.
Make Him Roar, Ember-Raine Winters 4 1/2 stars despite ending on a cliffhanger. Rory is supposed to find out what a smuggler is taking to an unknown location. She stows away on his ship but is immediately discovered. She is imprisoned and taken to another realm. It turns out she is the kidnapped princess and the land had been dying during her absence. She and her captor are drawn to each other despite their different stations. She needs to marry a prince. Bad guys are out to get her after killing her father, the king.
Enchanted: Roberta’s Story, D. D. Larson 5 stars - OMG; a story without a HEA. I’m devastated. Did Mary ever have children; the whole point of her and Nate’s marriage? I assume Nate’s father had died since Nate left the castle to Roberta. I know she had her reasons to return but I don’t think I could ever live someplace where I’d endured such heartbreak. Was it her brother and Nate who exchanged weekly letters? It almost sounded like it could have been her and Nate.
Kiss of Smoke. Amy Pennza - 4 1/2 stars - Chole is the executive assistant to two hot Scottish men. They are gay and have no interest in any of the females lusting after them. She is to accompany them to Scotland for two weeks. She sees her fiancé kissing another woman in the airport terminal. The two men reveal they are actually bi and help her get over her heartbreak on the flight. One of them feels she is their chosen mate for a dragon three-way relationship. (Yes, the guys are dragon halfbreeds) It seems that the two week business trip is extended for an indefinite period of time. Do they ever return to New York?
Rebel, AJ Renee 3 stars - Peter is pretty much too good to be true by being the most compassionate and patient male who ever lived. The plot was good but I just felt it may have been drawn out too much with unnecessary scenes/details.
Hex: D.A.M.N #2, Gracen Miller 4 stars - Nina is the Bionic Woman on steroids. She enters a contest hosted by a demon so that she can have her sister cured of cancer when (if) she wins. She and the demon, Hex, end up being irresistibly attracted to one another. At one point Hex has hair down to his shoulders and a page or two later it is chin length. Three members of Nina’s squad come to “rescue” her - Beck, Jackman and Wilson. There is a fourth, Cruella de Nerd, whose fate is never addressed and just disappears from the narrative. There were a few grammatical errors. Story was entertaining overall, although reader doesn’t find out what happens to Nina's squad or if she and Hex take down D.A.M.N.
Fate’s Assassin, Kiana Hettinger 4 stars - Dante is cursed to be bound to Nissa, an assassin. She mistakenly thinks he has been assigned to assist her on a job. He never gets around to correcting this assumption. It turns out her latest target is Dante’s father. The machinations behind their forced partnership is explained. The ending is not a cliffhanger but it seems the story could continue to clear up a few plot points.
Blood Tithes, Eva Priest 2 1/2 stars - The concept was good but the writing was atrocious. Example - page 1 of Chapter 4: “miss givings” “...but they definitely knew how to make space in something delete they definitely knew how to make something more than what it originally seemed.” “They were just as complicit as anyone else when the Faes opened a rift between avails.”
The author also pretty much leaves the reader hanging. What kind of magic does Eden have that she’s the only one who survives it? Mona’s son wasn’t really vanquished but will return for Eden. Why isn’t he a neutral gate keeper like his mother? Roth, the vampire master, seems to want to keep her for a pet. Was there a point to the two of them having sex? Will the wolf shifters appear any more in the future? “Werewolves are powerless to resist Wolfkin commands.” Who are the Wolfkin?
Begin Again, Carmilla Quinn 4 stars - Rex, a wolf shifter, and Ana, a human, were childhood sweethearts. They were torn apart when she was sold to a mafia family who in turn obtain her soul with the aid of a demon. Rex finally locates her years later and they become lovers. The Family demands that she kill Rex and only has 24 hours to do so. His uncle, the pack alpha, intercedes as does the wife of the mafia chief. Rex’s mother throws a hissy fit because Ana is not were and she wants Rex to be alpha. Story ends but I’d like to know what the future holds for these two.
Wolf Bound, Mira Kane 3 1/2 stars - Kira (wolf) and Misha (tiger) are shifters with pasts they are ashamed of, even though neither had any control over what they were forced to do. They are attracted to each other but fear to acknowledge it because they are sure of rejection. After finally succumbing to desire things go well until Kira’s confidence is shattered by Misha. They go their separate ways until Misha realizes Kira is his soulmate and they reunite.

My review is for TEMPERANCE AND THE DRAGON, by Rianne Thaxton, the only (so far) novel that I've managed to read in this collection.
Seventh Trial: Temperance and the Dragon
Wow! All of these trials have been epic but things really heat up for this one (of course, being the final). And it takes place in Oregon, a very charming area.
The writing is absolutely masterful, scenes are painted perfectly and just play out in my mind’s eye, no thought really, just … a great book to get lost in. This installment packs action, love, loyalty, friendship, new beginnings, an ancient feud, serious tension, evil, and so much more. An absolutely perfect wrap to Temperance’s trials.

Rory and Abbadon pull you into their story and won't let go even at the end. These two take you an interesting, intense, emotional, heartbreaking, and will keep you glued to your kindle till the end. You will see interesting creatures, new faces and some old ones, but it weaves a story that will have you breathless. I was pulled right and by the end my mind was blown completely and I was left frustrated with end. Amazing that will have you wanting more and more. Can't wait to read what she has next.

This massive collection is the perfect treat for the PNR lover. This anthology gives you twenty fun stories that have been written by an array of authors. There is a lot of variety here, so whether you are a fan of vamps, shifters, witches or fae, I really think you will find something that will appeal to you. On the flip side, if you are not sure PNR is your thing or if you just want to try out some new authors, this is the perfect way to do so with a very low risk. As for myself, I'm loving it.

Kora has been working hard to get the money needed for her sick mother’s illness. She hopes the mission that she is about to embark on will be enough to pay for the medicine her mother needs.
Her mission takes her to the land of Faerie. Upon entering the land of Faerie she is surrounded by monsters who are trying to kill her. What do these monsters want with her? Why do they want her dead? I mean she has just entered the land of the Faerie. What rules has she broken? Has she had time to break any rules? Can Kora finish her mission before the monsters kill her?
She is saved by the Fae Prince Aidoneus who takes her to his home to heal. Kora soon learns that the Fae Prince just may be the reason all the monsters are attacking her. What did the Fae Prince do? What do the monsters have against him? What do the Fae Prince’s problems have to do with Kora?
Can Kora and the Fae Prince save the Spring Court from the monsters? Can they save it before it is too late? How can they save the court? Well, sparks will fly before they find the answer and more lives will be lost, lives of monsters as the battles rage on.

I LOVED PETER!! I mean I have loved him since meeting him in the Broderick series. You do not have to read the Broderick series to read this book OR the following books in the series BUT I highly suggest it so you understand the relationships.
Peter…he is the best alpha. He loves his pack and those he deems pack like the witches in the Broderick coven. He is fierce in protecting those he loves. He is happy with his life, but he yearns for his mate. He is happy for Brandy and her siblings but…yeah why can’t he find HERE!!! Our calm cool alpha is outta his mind lately and he is not sure WHY. He can’t focus and is just hot tempered which is not Peter. When the pack and the coven go to save some women, he is beyond mad to see his mate there…in the room of abused and battered women AND a sister to Claudia.
Rosalie is the brave one of the group. She has done lots of things that many would find disgusting to survive abuse and horrors. When she realizes they are being rescued and its by her sister, she is overjoyed and then…..she sees him. The large wolf is her mate. She is scared given she has seen how alpha tend to treat women.
Rosie and Peter have a lot to overcome but Peter becomes more the man we know and love. He is doing everything to make sure she knows she is safe and wanted no matter what she as been through. He is doing everything to put her at ease to him and his caring. The waters these two navigate was pretty wicked at times but Peter never faulters. GUYS I loved him even more!!! GAH!! PETER!!!
I am so excited for this series and absolutely love that the Brodericks are just as front and center in this series as Peter’s pack was in their story. But I really wanna know whats up with Xander but Lea and Joel!! EEEEP!!!!

This is a great anthology written by some great authors.
My review is for Ashley McLeo’s Chosen by the Fae Prince. It’s a well written story that draws you in from the beginning as we meet Kora a fire witch and her journey to Faerie to save her mother.

A wolf shifter (Thane) who denies his wolf side is hired to protect the daughter (Paris) of a billionaire CEO. Paris is intelligent, and while they are locked in a secure room (supposedly for Paris's protection), she figures out that Thane is a werewolf. The two have fancied each other from the start, Thanes wolf side insisting she is his mate. However, with Paris having discovered her fathers secret research, is this really the time for the pair to realise they belong together? I read this story in one sitting, I could not bear to put it down. It has excitement, mystery, romance - what more could a reader want!!!

I enjoy anthologies and trying out new authors. So far I have read Wolf, Let Down Your Guard
by Nova Blake and Dee Holms. I enjoyed this story of Thane, the hot body guard and Paris, his CEO charge. A simple story of paranormals in the world hiding until the secret they exist is leaked on TV. Then the fun really begins and it is a fight to stay alive and keep Paris also alive as they fight the bad guys. The story was hot, funny, with lots of action and a really evil bad guy these two must figure out how to defeat. Entertaining and fun to read. Had to see how it ended and if Thane and Paris would win and save the day. And how they would do it.

A good batch of authors. Stories where alright
This one didn't hold my interest as well as they usually do. Some of the stories where good and then some were just ok.
There is one story with more m/m action than anything, and one that has a little f/f. If you can't handle that read at your own transgression.

Pretty good box set
Box sets are always a risky bet in my experience. Usually you get a few good stories & the rest need a lot of work. I’m happy to say there was only 1 story I dnf, another that desperately needed editing, and for the most part the rest were really pretty good. This box set is definitely worth reading.

This was… something. Quite a few of these didn’t end with a HEA or even a HFN. If it’s suppose to be a romance that’s a requirement.
