They say all good things must come to an end. But that wasn’t supposed to happen to them. They were supposed to be brothers for life. But if blood relatives can fallout, why couldn’t they? Loyalty bound them together. But love would tear them apart. And jealousy would be the reason for their fallout.
Note: This ends on a cliffhanger! This glimpse into the past bridges the gap between book 2, Garrett’s Temptation, and book 4, Scar’s Obsession.
I told myself I was just going to read a few pages ... Ha! Ha! Joke's on me! I couldn't put this book down. This series keeps getting better and better. I love Scar, he just wants to be loved by a Ride or Die woman, someone that he can love and trust and someone that will love, nurture and trust him in return.
The scenes with him expressing (pouring his heart out to us) this strong desire my heart broke. If anyone is deserving of a love for a lifetime, it's Scar. I don't like Garrett, just look at how he treated Dean, his supposed best friend, whom he wanted to kill. Now Garrett's projecting all his insecurities onto Scar, treating Scar like a common enemy. Well Scar's (and I) had enough and they all can miss him with their bullshit. Bye-bye! Now on to read Scar's Obsession!
Highly Recommended: Read this book. Read this series.
The Fallout is a bit of a mixed bag of tricks. While it does a good job of filling in the gaps between previous books and setting the stage for future installments, it feels rushed and certain plot points could have been explored more deeply.
The primary focus of this book is the deteriorating relationship between Garrett and Scar. Garrett's jealousy and insecurity drive a wedge between them, leading to a series of misunderstandings and hurt feelings. It's a painful and frustrating process to watch, as these two characters have a deep bond that seems to be irrevocably damaged.
One of the strengths of the book is the exploration of the complexities of male friendships. M'Rrnee Allen delves into themes of loyalty, betrayal, and the impact of external pressures on relationships. However, the execution of these themes could have been more nuanced and impactful.
The Fallout is a necessary addition to the series, but it's not the strongest entry. While it provides some valuable insights into the characters' motivations and backstories, it also suffers from pacing issues and underdeveloped plot points. It's a bittersweet chapter in the ongoing saga of Garrett, Scar, and Oni, and it remains to be seen how the characters will navigate the challenges that lie ahead.
I hate fallouts! I hate to see close ties broken by anger, resentment and misunderstanding! For those of us who have seen this firsthand, like Nik, you try or want to try to repair the breach. That is sometimes not successful!
To all those saying Garrett is down bad. Well duh, dude is crazy and this is absolutely in character for him. I'm not even mad at him and personally I think Scar is doing what's best for the family. If my bestie had a mad crush on my spouse and THEN my spouse became besties with her.... I'm just saying I get it.
And If I was part psycho killer? I'd be pulling the same stuff as Garrett. Plus he's crazy, and he's never had happiness. He's not waiting for the other show to drop. As far as Oni, can't call her out either, she's pregnant and Garrett has always been crazy so she might not be seeing it. Plus to see it means that Garrett doesn't trust her. No one wants to think that their spouse doesn't trust THEM.
Scar leaving isn't the sad part. Garrett letting his crazy cloud his trust in Oni is the sad part. Awesome short read and intro to Scars story.
Oni needs to check the hell out of Garrett when the time comes though because if he's always looking for a shadow (which he really always should be) Scar won't be the first or last brother to fall to his insanity.
I wasn't sure how to rate this part of the series, as it seemed rushed and certain aspect of the story was redundant(constantly referring to Ex's weight), but after reading book 4 in the series, it made sense. Despite that, the story continues to be strong in characters and plot, a bit rushed but overall good. It's time for the truth to be told, as redemption is at hand. Garrett's lies are exposed, but that damage is done, and Oni is far from happy. Scar, conversely, is coming to terms with Garrett's deception as he has found love and peace within himself. This book deals with the clearing of the turbulent history between Garrett and Scar and the rest of their "family." There is also the introduction of a new element, a wild card, in the presence of Ex and her "family." Their enemies are gathering, striking out at the innocent one who has Nik's heart.
******Oni****** Come get your man. Garrett out here showing his natural "black" ass over your friendship with Scar.
****GARRETT**** WHERE DO I REALLY START
Garrett crazy psychotic ass, got on my damn nerves.
Oni LOVES HIM COMPLETELY UNCONDITIONALLY, yet his petty ass is willing to lose a friend over his own foolishness and stupidity.....
🗣️He knows he's wrong in this fuckery
🗣️Had no reason to insecure nor jealous
****SCAR***** I'm like Scar- you do not want me around, I will remove myself. My heart broke for him. The people he trusted and depended on and supported really said they didn't trust his friendship with Oni. 😔All Scar did in the beginning was wanting to protect Oni from Garrett (as a brother)
*****Nik****** 🗣️was a bitch for how he talked to Scar AND then wanted to act surprised 😲 when Scar shut all of that shit down.

It beging with the events of the doble wedding for Dean and Rain and Garret and Oni.
Scar became a friend to Oni when Garret was plotting his revege against Dean. Because of this Oni sees him are he bestie and confidant amonst all of the nen from crew. It also doesnt help the he once had a crush on her.
Garret is not addressing his traumas from childhood to adulthood. Due to this he is insecure in the love Oni has for him. He questions the friendship between her and Scar because he still cant accept that she choose him.
I cried at his Scar's choice to walk away from them all. But, I totally agree with him. He is not emotionally sound and wants what Garret and Dean have in a mate. Garret needs to sit on someone couch and address his issues
I loved get a glimpse into things from Scars perspective. Him and Nik were my favorite killing crew members.
I was a little annoyed and Oni and Rain when it came to their wedding. I know everyone wants a perfect wedding day but when you know your life is built different there has to be some changes and scarification. Oni wanted the whole kitten caboodle knowing that people could very likely target the venue. Have your ceremony and a quick reception, not no all night long affair. But I digress…
Garrett frustrated me so much in this book. He was acting like a bitch baby and Scar is the one that loses and suffers.
Loved all the series so far. The writing had me glued to the page desperate to get to the end but not wanting it to finish too soon. Book 2 and 4 are my favourite but I loved them all. I loved all the characters and the dialogue had me LOL at times. Roll on book 5. I hope it’s not too long before it’s released because you forget what’s happened and you then have to go back to re-read and I’ve already done that twice. My only other criticism is that the woman don’t all have to be BBW, don’t know why they just can’t be BW! Eva was in the field so ideally should have been ripped but I still loved the series and this book especially
Wow- seriously devastated about Garrett and Scar having a fall out. I found Garrett to be extremely insecure and overreacting. I love that Scar and Oni have a great relationship. It was built from Garrett’s obsession. Scar is such an amazing character. He is just so multi facet and is written so well that I he is on my list for book boyfriend.
How are Garrett and Scar going to come back from us? Will Oni have her best friend back? And now Scar may have to choose! Yikes
The Killer Crew has never had a mission like this.
On to the next book. Happy reading and wine drinking.
I am so happy to read the beginning of Scar's story. This explains so much that I had questions about in Garrett's story. Especially the ending when On I was thinking about Scar. It makes me feel so bad for the way that Garrett treated him because of his jealousy. I feel some kind of way about Garrett and Nic. To say all of that, I am beyond excited for Scars story. My obsession with this book is crazy.
This series gets better & better as the characters are more deeply fleshed out ; and we are privvy to their inner most thoughts. I 💗 all the Alphas in this book , especially Dean, Garrett , Scar , Vlad & Liam. So very happy that Oni & Garrett got their 👨👩👧👦😘! I am enthusiastically looking forward to Scar's story in the next 📚. I know its gonna be lit💃
I felt for Scar, that man is a giver, he has a big heart and when he finds that special woman, she is going to be one lucky lady. Garrett is really certified, he actually reminds me of someone I know who is all about family and that person always pushing people away… Garrett man, you can’t have it both ways, fine a balance, your way of reasoning is wracked. You almost lost Dean, and now Scar… I love Scar, I am waiting for his special someone!
This short story has me so up in my feelings because it is so real!!! This is how dysfunction in families looks in real life when trauma and mental health is not dealt with properly. Very Real story and dynamics. I understand all the characters in personal way as I go thru my own therapy and learn dynamics in my own family. This should have just been part of the next book, in general, to help us see what is happening between the Killer brother/gang
This was so good. I've been reading this series nonstop for less than a week. The storyline and characters are so good and everyone is fleshed out thematically other than Kristoff really. I can't help but read more and more. The sex scenes are incredible throughout and the crime side of things seems so well researched. Not every story feels like a repeat of the same formula though tropes do carry on. Hell yeah I love this author. 😀
I don't know what to say. Right now Garrett is not one of my favs. Besides being stressed and a first time Father there is a way you treat people. Scar has been there through thick and thin, and up and down. I wander how will this affect his and Oni's relationship now? Once she finds out that Scar is gone?
Ok so after book 2 this was a small glimpse into Scar’s past and his character. Ugh...... why Garret have to be soo messy. Garret has some PTSD issues he needs to work through. I hate that they had to end on a sour note, but I hope Garret and Scar can patch of their Bromance. Scar’s Obsession here I come.
Wow, that was deep, the jealousy and to betray a brother and kick him to the curb. Garrett could have talk to Scar and told him how he felt, even ask him to step back and give him some space so him and his wife can regroup. I’m that type of ride or die Bit€h. So glad I have the whole series, Scar story is next. This is a fabulous read.
Besides Rain, Scar had become Oni's best friend and confidant. Scar worked hard to keep Oni safe and happy, as any big brother should. But Garrett did not understand and as the green eyed monster continued to rear its ugly head, Scar, feeling as though he was no longer wanted or needed by Garrett, simply left. I am officially unfriending Garrett!
I get it....I liked it and I love this series by this new author to my life mz.M'Renee shes got skills that I can appreciate... I just hope that when the smoke clears Garrett and Scar will clear the air and Oni can have her best friend back babies make the world go round👏👍💓💗💞💘😘😍😆😀😃😁😄😅😂😉😏😊😎🙋💃🏾😈
Scar was a better man to me in this book than Garrett . He was a true friend and he lost all because of jealousy not him but his so called best friend. Scar will show them all.
Love the gang. The hero is crazy to be so jealous of scar. I like Scar. I feel sympathy for Scar and i want hi. To have his own happy end. Can't want to read his story
So much was packed into The Fallout. It explains the bad blood now brewing between Garrett and Scar. I knew it would make reading Scar’s Obsession that much of a better experience.
Must admit Garrett acted a total fool. Did pregnancy make Oni blind to the tension between Scar and her husband? I don't like the way things ended but so glad I have the next installment to see how it all ends.
I loved and hated this. I feel so bad for everyone involved. I wonder if Scar had just opened up and expressed how he was feeling, maybe Garrett would have understood. Oni definitely would have had his back. Great prequel.
Heartbroken for Scar, it’s saddens me that all that was thrown on him by a man he considered his brother. I love Garrett but he was so wrong for what he did to Scar.
