Amberly’s life is anything but normal. Finding out the truth behind who she really was did not even crack the surface of all the changes coming her way.

Learning she is being hunted by someone hundreds of years old is the least of her problems, when she soon finds herself dream walking with a shape shifter that needs her help. Soon after bringing the new girl, Amara, back home she starts having visions of everyone she loves dead at her feet and finds herself racing against the clock. She wants to save them all from the fate she saw.

But can fate be stopped?

The new shape shifter is not the only person she is dream walking with. She finds Vladimir’s right hand, Aidan, invading her mind more than once. Who is he and why does he feel so familiar to her?

She is trying to find some stability, but she is discovering that dealing with all the changes in her powers, turning eighteen, and watching her love life unravel at the seams is almost too much to handle.

How is she supposed to learn how to control her powers, control her shifting, and protect herself and everyone she loves when her heart is broken? Knowing Vladimir is coming for them all is motivation enough. She will do anything to make sure her vision does not come to pass.

Do not miss the second book in the Dark Inheritance series and see where Amberly's journey takes her next.

I read this book on my tablet using the Kindle app.

This book is the second in the Moonlight series and it starts right where the first one finishes, so I encourage you to read the first book in the series before starting this one. While the first book may be seen as an introduction to the story, this time the author goes a step further and expands the world in an impressive way. Every chapter is a masterclass in world-building and sets the perfect stage for what is to come in the continuation of the story. Not to mention the huge cliffhanger at the end of this book that made me immediately start reading the third book.

In terms of the plot, I think the balance between the romance of the characters and the action and suspense for what is to come is perfect.

I honestly recommend this series.

Well done, good pacing and action!

“Moonlight Changes” is the paranormal romance sequel to "Moonlight Secrets" in the Dark Inheritance series by Laura Lukasavage. Amberly is trying to come to terms with the special powers passed down to her from her parents. She is a wonderful main character that anyone can relate to, especially young girls. As Amberly is discovering and developing her newfound magical powers, she has a very prophetic dream. The dream shows her a very powerful enemy from her mother's past is coming after her. Are Amberly's powers strong enough to ward off this adversary? Does she have what it takes to control it? Amberly still has a conflicted romantic entanglement with love interest Julian and best friend Logan. Especially when Julian brings Amara into the mix. Exciting paranormal romance for YA audiences and above. Recommended to read the series in order to have all the information needed to fully enjoy this episode. Well done, good pacing and action.

I am enjoying this series. It starts off as a simple love triangle and family discovery, but as the pages go on, we find out there is so much more to Amberley and the world of the seven.

I appreciate Amberley trying to be fair and give sweet Logan a chance, and I do love the fact that everyone seems to be pairing off and I am hoping we get more focus on that in book 3.

I can't wait to see what more Amberley can do, what Vladimir really wants, if Aiden is who he says he is.

The cliffhanger made me hungry for more. I think Book 3 will be where things really kick off!

This is the second book in the series “Dark Inheritance” by Laura Lukasavage. It is a thriller, suspense, supernatural series. This book is the follow up from right where the first book ended. Amberley, slowly, is discovering her powers which she got to know about in the first book. Also, here she and her mother are trying to collect all the facts and pieces of evidence which might prove useful in their mission to reunite with Amberley’s father and get to know about this mystery. Julian, who loves Amberley and vice versa are not able to clear their terms of relationship because when Amberley finds Julian kissing Amara, she feels bad and later on falls in love with Logan. Though she is still in love with Julian, she isn’t sure how and what to say. Amberley can see visions and dreams about what is going to happen. So, the bad man here is Vladimir who is trying to hurt Amberley’s loved ones. She, to protect them, is trying to rush before time and stop what is about to happen. But can she do that? Read to know.

I recently got to know about this series and I am hooked. I cannot wait for the third book to be published. Laura, the author, has done a great job in presenting the plot very slowly progressing yet interesting. This is one of those stories where you know the story will slowly progress but you still don’t want to miss the details. The relationship of Julian and Amberley is just so crisped and confused which is just perfect for romance and cupid lovers. The writing is quite plain and understandable. I’d like to highlight that the twists and the turns are worth all the excitement. This series can boost your reading habit and can surely get you out of your reading slump.

All the fantasy and fiction lovers, fasten your seat belts and get some coffee because this ride is lovely. Apparently, I am recommending this book to people here. The third release is awaited.

Exciting read!

I didn't know what to expect from this book having not read the first one, but actually I found myself drawn into the story, although it did take me a few chapters to learn who all the characters were. I was absorbed by Amberley and Logan and Julians love triangle and really enjoyed the story and how it flowed. Throughly enjoyable fantasy read!

After reading book 1 of this series, I picked up book 2 immediately and, like book 1, I couldn't put it down. The continuation of the story kept me interested and on the edge of my seat, but rolling in emotional turmoil right alongside Amberly. A lot (I mean A LOT) changes in her life in a very, very short period of time and following her along the path to trying to figure it all out kept me engaged. Looking forward to book 3!

Book 2 picks up right where 1 left off with Amberly trying to get answers to her dream, and the reader getting answers to a mystery from the first book... what's up with people having the same birthmark? Meanwhile, Julian's love for Amberly is causing him deep suffering. He is convinced that not only is he not good enough for her, but that their match is forbidden. So the age old question has risen: old love or new love? Safe love or exciting love? Now that she has found love and her father, she just needs to find a way to hang onto them with all the new threats. Now more than ever Amberly has to learn to understand the extent of her powers. Being cut from the same cloth as the original witch is putting a target on her back, and a fight is on the way. Plus with learning to shift, like her father, she is sure to be scary powerful. The book ends with a battle and a cliffhanger with lives hanging in the balance! Need book 3 asap!

The second book in this series was great! It had some unexpected twists for sure, and I was left with my mouth on the floor by the end. Amberley is much more outspoken and intense in this book as she learned to harness her powers. The pull between the two men she is in love with was strong, and I was secretly rooting for Julian, but I won't give any spoilers. If you are looking for a vivid PNR romance read, this is for you. It has plenty of action, strong attraction and will leave you wanting more. I will be reading book three soon for sure.

Dark Inheritance

Moonlight Changes
Book - 2

Edition : Kindle / Paperback

Genre : Fantasy

My Ratings :4.7/5⭐️

This is the second book in the Dark Inheritance by Author Laura Lukasavage .
And the work of the author didn’t fail to amaze me again .

The first book introduces us to Amberly , a teenage girl who is blessed with superpowers . The second book takes us on a journey of Amberly’s life . She is able to see the far vision , but when she starts having visions and seeing everyone she scratches against the clock .

Seeing everything in her dream , she wants to protect her loved ones from the terrible fate . She also watches Julian kissing another girl and this breaks her heart . She wants to have control on her superpowers , but will she manage to do so ?? The journey of Amberly isn’t that easy but is quite interesting for the readers to read .

This book took me on a roller coaster ride and every turning page aroused a curiousity within me . It is not at all easy to tell which book Kept me more engaged . Both the books succeeded in blowing my mind .

Narration flowed so smoothly that it made it much easier for me to follow the storyline . Characters in the story are portrayed so well and descripted amazingly .

Reading these two books , I am waiting to go for more works from the author . You guys should not definitely miss this second book and loose the chance to go through the Amberly’s journey .

Happy Reading ❤️

Book two is just as captivating and exciting as the first one. I couldn’t stop reading it. The only thing I found a bit distracting and annoying was that a lot of explanations and thoughts were repeated several times, making it feel a little like a page filler, but other than that, I enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the third one. I mean, I am hooked and need to know what the deal is with Aidan and what happened to Amberly and Julian. It’s a great story, captivating and engaging, definitely leaving you with wanting more.

The first book ended with Amberly losing her consciousness and going 18 years ago when her father and her whole family died and there when she gets to know that THEY ARE COMING. But who?

Now talking about the second book, knowing someone is coming but not knowing who are they everybody in the cave got tensed and terrified. And then the right time had come to unfold all the stories which were buried by Amberly's mother to protect her daughter but she can't hide them anymore from her and that's when Amberly gets to know about Vladimir, one of the seven (“witch, angel, demon, fairy, natural and healer").

But the main question here is why they are after Amberly? What does she have to do with someone she has never met?
She was again dream walking and found out herself walking into the woods alone at the midnight and she wasn't by herself truly, she was in someone's mind and that how she met Amara, who was kept and tortured at Vladimir's place and that's when Aidan come into the picture, but what he has to do with Amberly?

Amberly wants to know more about herself now, she wanted to discover every power she has within so that she could be strong, strong enough to fight. And, while training she got to know a lot about herself which is somewhat scarier. Half witch and half shapeshifter weren't enough that she now gets to know that she can dream-walk as well and not just that she can control people's minds and can manipulation them. Who doesn't love magic and powers but the magic comes along with a cost. And that's when she had a dream of watching her loved ones all dead in front of her. Will she be able to change what is destined to happen anyway?

Her life was getting more and more intense with every passing minute and what she needed was only stability in her life and strength to accept the reality. She was already dying after what she had just seen in her dream and nothing could happen worse other than seeing Julian, the person she loves, kissing another woman. That was alone to give her a heartache she can't withstand. But why did Julian hurt the woman of her life, whom he loves more than anything in this world? Will this silliest of mistakes Julian did going to end Julian and Amberly's relationship?

Will Vladimir's army be able to get hold of Amberly? Will she be able to save everyone she loves?

Moonlight Changes by Laura Lukasavage is book two in the Dark Inheritance series, and picks up right where the first book in the series left off. The main character Amberly has been thrown a number of life-altering changes and is learning to deal with her new powers as well as prepare for the inevitable showdown with the story’s “big bad.”

The plot includes of lot of popular YA tropes - the chosen one, the love triangle, supernatural powers, ancient goods and evils clashing together, teenage angst, and so on. While Amberly is happy to be with her mom and dad again (her dad is the pack’s alpha), she is having a lot of emotional drama being in the middle of a love triangle. Logan, her childhood best friend, is the safe choice, but Julian, the temperamental bad boy, is the one who gets her blood boiling (in both good and bad ways).

I thought Amberly was a good main character. She was both strong and flawed (making her relatable and likable). And although there was a lot of unnecessary drama due to people not being straight with their true feelings, that’s pretty much how it goes in YA, so it was expected for this genre and not a bad thing.

The main villain, Vladimir, provides a large and formidable threat to our good guys and I thought the “seven good/seven evil” prophesy part was unique and well done. The book does end on a major cliffhanger, so I’m Interested to see how it all wraps up in book three.

“Moonlight Changes,” by Laura Lukasavage, is Book 2 in the “Dark Inheritance” series. There are references to events that occur in Book 1, so it would be best to read the series in order; and this story ends in a cliffhanger. The MC, Amberly, is a half-breed; her mother is a witch, and her father a werewolf and leader of their pack.
The story begins just after Amberly has awoken from a nightmare; her mother and father have come to her room. Amberly relates the details of the dream: someone named Vladimir is after her. Her mother is familiar with Vladimir and tells a dark tale of how his unrequited love caused him to become hateful, destructive, and dangerous. Although he is a powerful enemy, Amberly soon learns she has powers that she never knew about, powers she will need to learn how to use.
Amberly is conflicted in her feelings towards Julian, to whom she is strongly attracted, and her best friend, Logan, whom she trusts and loves. Julian has intense feelings for Amberly, but he believes her father would never allow them to be mates. So, he takes the first opportunity to do something that is intended to make Amberly hate him. The story is told in first person, with many different POV’s (more than necessary in my opinion). I found the story to be engaging and would recommend it to fans of romantasy or paranormal romances.

A continuation of Lukasavage’s debut, Moonlight Changes focuses on protagonist Amberly’s confusion regarding the infatuations of both her childhood friend Logan and shapeshifter Julian. Her attraction lies with tempestuous Julian although her heart lies with reliable Logan. Though Lukasavage’s second novel may be considered immobile in terms of setting, the emotional journey is frought with the highs and lows of young love.
I was pleasantly surprised with the welcomed introduction of the Seven, aiding in the world-building that I missed in the first novel. Lukasavage has ideas in abundance and it is evident of her love for her stories in Moonlight Changes. I found the characters to be better developed now that both the reader and the author have had time to relish in their anachronistic and self indulgent delight.
My favourite of the relationships that Lukasavage has built include Angela and Aaron, as well as Amara and Troy. Troy, it seems, has taken a backseat in the narrative as the focus shifts from Amberly’s then to Amberly’s now. As she wrestles with the ramifications of her romantic decisions, the impending doom of a frightening villain threatens the entire village. The final battle is sudden, violent, with a few fun twists, and will leave the reader wanting more.

I did not read Book 1 before I dived into Moonlight Changes Book 2. It probably would have made more sense. When I think about werewolf books, I think about fantasy creatures that eat humans, horror. This book is VERY different. It's not at all what I expected. The main character is Amberly, she is the daughter of an alpha werewolf and she is 18 years old, ready for a mate. The other characters that stand out to me are Julian, the boy Amberly is extremely attracted to, and another boy Logan that is just a loyal friend. Amberly starts to fall for Julian immediately because there is a chemistry between them. After seeing Julian make out and kiss another girl, Amberly becomes heartbroken and retreats to Logan who is more reliable. There is definitely a tug of war between Julian and Logan to win Amberly's love and affection. There is a lot of kissing. It's very innocent and juvenile kind of teen first love.

This is not a YA horror book. It's very light, easy read. It reads more like a YA romance with the teen werewolf fantasy in the backdrop. The YA romance upstaged the fantasy. This is a story of a blooming magnetic connection that Amberly has for Julian, and the hardships they go through.

Short Synopsis

Witches & shape shifters unite & prepare to fight evil in Moonlight Changes. Three people with powerful abilities show up to help, providing training & information.

Amberly learns more about her family & her abilities. She makes a tough decision about her love life as well. She sees the evil that is headed their way as she sleeps.

My Thoughts

I loved this book! A lot of Amberly’s family history comes to light making her even spunkier than in book one! I get a kick out of her plucky attitude.

The fantasy aspect is adventurous & the romance seamlessly blends into it. The romance is mild & kept behind closed doors between the teens.

I have to throw in some kudos for the cover art as well. It grabs the eye & is the perfect representation of the story. Read more reviews at latishaslowkeylife.com.

After finishing ‘Moonlight Secrets’, I immediately started reading the second book.
'Moonlight Changes' continues right where book one ends, which is perfect… because we were left on a HUGE cliff-hanger.
Amberly the leading character must learn exactly what her powers hold, as everyone unites to prepare to fight evil, aka Vladimir...
With the help of THREE new characters, they provide training and information on the villain.
The ending is exhilarating, leaving the readers on another HUGE cliff-hanger…
Again, I cannot stress how much I enjoyed this series, and I will definitely be recommending this book to anyone who likes fantasy, adventure, love triangles, romance, witches, werewolves, and shape shifters. Great job Laura Lukasavage!

This is the 2nd book of the Dark Inheritance series and after finishing it, I'm looking forward to the 3rd installment.
It's such a fun YA fantasy with unique concepts and characters. There are shape shifters, demons, warlocks and witches and some good, old fashioned first love.
Laura Lukasavage is great at creating believable conversations and thoughts and overall I really enjoy her YA stories. The only thing that sometimes throws me off are the repetitions of thoughts. Sometimes I felt a single thought was stated a couple times too many.
Other than that, I had tons of fun with this book and suggest it.

A suspenseful continuation of Amberly's extraordinary journey, blending elements of self-discovery and impending danger. The narrative unfolds with many unexpected twists, adding intrigue to the protagonist's struggles with her evolving powers and personal relationships. The book offers a neutral yet engaging exploration of supernatural challenges and the quest to defy an ominous fate. Fans of the action-adventure fiction genre will greatly appreciate this book, as it combines elements of suspense, supernatural abilities, and a protagonist's quest for self-discovery within an engaging and thrilling narrative.

Book two picks up right where book one left off. Amberly's life is chaotic to say the least. She seems to learn something new about her powers every day and adapting to them is hard for her. She is incredibly significant to her pack as well as the paranormal world. She is also stuck between her head and her heart when it comes to her love life.
I loved how the wider storyline came front and centre the past is significant to what Amberly is.
She is now being hunted by an incredibly powerful and old force.
If Amberly thinks her life is going to get any less chaotic, she's wrong.

Good storyline

Okay so I first off, this review contains spoilers so beware.

I loved Julian. Although he was pretty dumb, playing the "I piss off the girl I love to protect her" trope. And then, Amberly is the "I love him but he hurt me so I'll push him away" girl.
At least they get together later 😉

But overall the storyline is good! I loved everything you learn about the seven. And then there's this devil. And people trying to get Amberly. And I loved how her father approved of her relationship. How her parents were there for her, as well as her friends.

Interesting Shape Shifter Story!

Laura Lukasavage has written a very interesting book about a shape shifter. If I understand it correctly, the main character, Amberly, must learn exactly what her powers hold. All the while someone named Vladimir is following her as she practices her powers. Her father was also a shape shifter, which ensures her power. The ending is very exciting, leaving readers wanting a part 3. Bravo Laura Lukasavage!

Not another cliffhanger!! Man I liked this book as much as the first. It seems like so much and so little happened and it was over so fast! Great character development, I’m enjoying the world building though it’s a bit slower to show than in some books and I still like the angsty this boy or that boy indecisiveness!!
