Another last book. Another one of those that has been on my shelves for ages already. I even thought about reading this one quite a few times already, but at the last minute I always picked another book. And strangely enough I know I don't have to say goodbye to the characters. There is a spin-off, of which I accidentally already read the first book, starring the best friend and a next gen story. However, before I wanted to continue those I wanted to finish this one.

This book is slightly chaotic. Or well, it's actually really chaotic. And in a way it means that it's sometimes hard to keep track of where the plot goes. But in another way it also really fits the kind of story this is. Claudia is improvising. She's good at it, mostly, but she's playing with big guys who had years of planning, plotting and improvising under their belt. The combination DOES lead to chaos, although Holmes is that brilliant that in the end she manages to get everything back together.

A lot of storylines have started in the previous three books and I was quite curious how Holmes was gonna solve them all. And as if solving everything wasn't hard enough, Holmes also added some curve balls in this book changing everything we and the characters in the book thought we knew. But by doing so she really managed to connect all those storylines, to show us that they actually weren't all separate exciting plots. They were all part of one big plot.

And along the way she also gave Claudia some major character growth. It's often said, but sometimes you need to lose what you have to learn that you already had everything you needed. Sometimes we only see true value when we're on the brink of losing something. Claudia learns that the hard way, but it's also very fitting that she has to learn it. She was brought up a certain way, she only had seen love in a certain way. She had to learn what love truly is.

Although I liked the first book in the series best, I really enjoyed this satisfying conclusion to the series and I'm now really looking forward to the spin-offs.

I REALLY, REALLY did not want the secret twist to be what it was although I suspected it long ago. Ugh, so sad. It was a great story regardless. 💜💜

Action packed with a major plot twist

Daaaaang woman, that book got me good! The wait for the final installment of Stonehurst Prep was well worth it, Steff you delivered in ♠️♠️♠️!
There was so much going on to wrap the series up, kudos to you for being able to do it without spilling into a 5th book.
Lots of twists and turns you never expected, though the big one I caught on to a few clues but Holy weeeow I was biting nails throughout in suspense.
Plenty of smutty scenes with Claws and her guys, I always favoured Noah and Gabe in the first ones, but golden boy Eli took out top spot in the end!
Amazing read and I can't wait to see more of George in her series 🙌

This is more than a dark romance, this is an escape into a world where characters may do some very depraved things for those they consider family and love. Is it right or wrong? Who's to say? But when we look at the world today, I have come to the conclusion that there are many dark and scary things we have to face and what would you do to save those you love? This author delves into the darkess crevices of our minds and hearts to create some aspects of her stories. Yes, they are not for everyone but....if you give her a chance you will see the genius she creates may just call to you.

I have read a lot of her series and fell deeply for each charcter be it love or hate. This particular series really pulled at me. The guys and their love for Claudia has a depth so deep that only they can undestand it. The people that Claudia surrounds herself with say alot about the woman that is hidden from the public. The love and protective qualities had me bypassing other attributes. Finding an author I can connect with is amazing and Steffanie Holmes has my loyalty to this and everything she has written to date that I have read. In a world of insanity that we are living in at the moment, she is a beacon that calls to me , helps me escape my reality and live for the worlds she invents.

This final book in the Stonhurst Prep series could not have ended any other way. She gave us closure on all the questions presented in the previous books and left us with a sense of rightness and contentment. I honestly can recommend this book to those who are willing to dive into the darkness with an open mind and heart. With the conclusion of this series, the author has already began a new series with one of the characters and I promise it is just as compelling, dark and addictive. Pick up Pretty Girls Make Graves next. You won't want to miss it. Till the next review....enjoy!

Poor

This is a review of the entire series. I don’t know which series was written first but this series has a very similar framework to the J Bree Hannaford Prep series. Unfortunately, whilst that series is superb, this series is very poor. There are multiple inconsistencies in the story where you are told one thing and then that is contradicted later in the story (sometimes only a few pages later) which was lazy and frustrating. These range from the FC wearing jeans and then suddenly referred to as wearing a skirt to material story arc disjoints as in where the FC’s uncle is described as having her eyes as is her mother (the uncle and mother are not related).
I found there was no real build up of the relationship between the MCs and the FCs with each MCs backstory seeming to be over done and overly complicated written purely to create some immediate bad boy/poor boy schtick.
Unfortunately the story arc itself felt like it was trying too hard with too much going on and everything being made into a drama. I assume the author intended to create tension and depth but actually the result was dead ends and content unrelated to the main story.
The FC became harder and harder to like and more and more stupid as the story progressed. It was impossible to understand why she was considered a queen or lauded by the MCs let alone a criminal master mind. Really, she deserved to die at the end through sheer stupidity. The climax is very manufactured and I confess to seeing it coming as it was the only way the story could end considering how ridiculous it became with all the characters becoming caricatures. I expected one of the villains to start curling his moustache at one point and going “mwah ha ha”!
Not for me and I won’t be reading any of this author’s work in future.

This is an epic end to this series. Claws and her harem have been through the ringer over and over again in the previous books and this one doesn’t hold back either.

Claws puts out one fire another sprouts up behind her. She’s completely ruthless and it causes lots of angst in the relationship. There is so much going on plotting, lies and betrayal around every corner. It creates tension throughout the entire read. The end is *chefs kiss* perfection! Such an amazing conclusion to this series.

Story 4/5, Heat 4/5, Darkness 3/5, Angst 3/5

Fast burn as you can expect out of the final book in any RH.

No virgins, sharing and group scenes, OW/OM drama, no push away or breakups but there is lots of angst and tension within the harem, no separation. No cheating, no cliffhanger and HEA

Safety - there’s OW and OM drama but no cheating. In my opinion, the OW/OM drama is mild it’s there for tension, no one is messing around outside the harem.

There is a lot of violence here, it’s definitely not light in that department.

Claudia is no longer hiding from the other Triumvirate Imperators and has claimed the August family throne, but the others want something she desperately wants to avoid. Unfortunately, the twin she recently discovered she has been doing her best to destroy Claudia, and MacKenzie is determined to take everything from Claudia, including Eli, Noah, and Gabriel. The ultimate betrayal by one of the people she trusted most might cost Claudia everything, but change is coming to Emerald Beach and the Triumvirate will survive after a change at the top.
I absolutely love these characters, and I'm sad to see them go. They are fascinating, well written, compelling, and bloodthirsty. They will fight to protect the ones they love, and kill to end any threat. Suspenseful, bloody violence, unexpected twists in the plot, and with plenty of steam. I hated to see the end, this is a must read book and series.

Good ending to the series

I'll admit, the major plot twist at the end upset me. It was such a monumental betrayal that I feel genuinely betrayed. Very very upsetting.
Also, the explanation during that plot twist was really long and the ages for certain things were very much cringe. 12 year olds, man.
Needs an edit because some details contradicted previously mentioned details, some names were wrong etc. More in the first half of the book.
Pretty sure there was like one steamy scene in the entire book. Almost no romance. Lots of relationship issues though.
Nice epilogue, more of a 'what have they been up to since' rather than a 'glimpse into married life/important life event/typical HEA'.
I was a little annoyed at the inaccuracy in the epilogue though. Seemed like the author needed to do more research into that and what happens at that stage. Kinda ruined the epilogue experience for me, which is sad because I looooove a good epilogue.

Claudia August is an 18-year-old girl in her last year of high school and also the heir to a criminal empire. The first part is the funniest for me, because from seeing her throwing knives to having to worry about her grades and who she goes to the dance with seems like the funniest contrast.
Her relationship with Noah, Gabriel and Eli goes through its ups and downs, and to stay in power, Claudia is forced to make decisions that cause tensions between them.
In this book we are going to see more betrayals and stabbings in the back than in the other 3 combined, and one of them is going to leave you speechless.
Very entertaining, lots of action, blood, sacrifices, with many nods to Roman history and many moments full of love and passion.
I love George, Claudia's best friend is quite a discovery.😂👏.

If I could rate this in negative numbers I'd do it.
I hated this book more than the others.
I hated the characters and how much they changed or stayed the same - Noah turned into a psychopath and Gabe spent the whole series being a depressed alcoholic.
Lots of things don't make sense and the author didn't even try to write a cohesive story. How can teenagers pull this off? How can a young girl rent an apartment and work? Give me a break.
I love a good twist but I need to read some clues through the story, I need a logical explanation. The whole "contact lenses" story was dumb af.
The end was ridiculous. The guys were right when they left Claudia near the end, she never gave a shit about them and never will. I hated her so bad when I liked her in the beginning.
I usually like Steffanie Holmes' work but this is a giant mess.

Savage ending

What an ending we get in this final book! Book 4 finds Claudia trying to find her way to the top of her empire all the while trying to keep the other 2 imperators from taking her power. All the while trying to keep her family safe. Sooooo many secrets come out, about one every other sentence, that everyone is left reeling and on the tips of their toes throughout the entire book. So much heartache, betrayal, bitterness, fighting, and backstabbing that leave you questioning what you just read. This book moves fast with the action, is a medium to fast burn and after the empires crumbles and the lies are exposed we get a HEA for not just Claudia and her boys but for the other 2 imperators as well.

Happy with how it ended

This finale book had a lot of messed up twists that I kinda suspected early on and then thought nooo way.
I thought it ended really well, they were plot twists and dark stuff revealed it all came to a happy ending. I am excited to read Georgies books next.

The whole Antony situation was so f*cked up. It was difficult to read it made my heart hurt so much for Claudia! I hated how everyone called her Claws after that it just felt wrong to continue to use his nickname for her.
I was really hoping it would end up with the 3 women as soon as we met Livvie and Cali took over for Constantine I love when the badas* women take over.

LOVE THIS

This entire series was amazing! I was not expecting that twist at the end though. I love Livvie but I’m not the biggest fan of Cali in this one. I definitely like Cali more in the Stonehurst Prep Elite series, but it’s the opposite with Livvie. I really wish I would have read this series first though, because I’m so mad at things that I know are going to happen later in those books lol. I just can’t get over that twist at the end (I don’t want to spoil anything so I’m not going to say), it’s driving me nuts. Like what!? Anyways, I loved this series so much, even more than Elite which is crazy because it was amazing

My Savage Empire by Steffanie Holmes is a dark, addictive reverse harem romance steeped in mystery and psychological tension. The story follows Claudia, a strong-willed gangster heroine, as she runs a secretive empire with loyalty from her three lovers - Noah, Eli and Gabriel. Each lover is uniquely dangerous, compelling, and full of secrets. As Claudia navigates power plays, secrets, and steamy dynamics, the tension builds with every page. Holmes masterfully blends suspense, and romance, making it a must-read for fans of twisted love stories with strong heroines and morally gray love interests. Perfect for lovers of dark romance and gothic fiction.

Lazy writing in this story.

Steffanie Holmes is one of the smartest writers in my library, her wit shines through in her postnotes, but she phoned it in when it comes to developing Mackenzie. No character should be as one dimensional as a generic villain. Other characters would have used a bit more polish as well. Having a smart author cheat the work is in some ways worse than reading the dreck put out by idiots. Depth was possible and readers got short shrift. All characters use the very same cadence and words, there's just no variation. The vocabulary is very limited not only in dialog but also for description.

The final book in the series dots the i's and crosses the t's. It is also slam full of action, drama, and some harrowing moments for Claudia and all her supporters. It starts with a dead body, a secret tunnel, and two coffins. It progresses through a home menagerie, several betrayals, new alliances, and a final reckoning for Claws and her guys. There is never a dull moment. You will never be the same after this one.

This was a tough series to read and this book is the topper. The story Is so visceral that it is not for the faint of heart. Things move at a fast and furious pace. You can't close your eyes (even if you want to) because you might miss something. I know it may sound like I am discouraging you and don't want you to read the book. That is far from the truth. I just want you to keep your eyes open. You need to see (and experience) the beauty, the glory, and the terror that is Claudia August.

I've been anxiously awaiting this conclusion to the Stonehurst Prep Series and it did not disappoint. This book ramped up the violence, mystery and suspense. Claudia becomes the Queen she was meant to be with her 3 princes by her side. As they fight for what is rightfully hers and betrayals are uncovered the books is like a speeding train towards the finale. I can not recommend this series more it was an intricately weaved web and I loved every minute of it. George's book is up next.

A suspenseful story that manages to continue to be filled with mystery and darkness as the story progresses. I was intrigued by her character and the situation she once again found herself in yet it was also very shocking when the reveals happened. I’m not usually taken by surprise but this last, and I thought, greatest reveal was simply fascinating. I’ve enjoyed reading this series which I thought was well written and very enjoyable to read.

Good series

This review is for the series. I enjoyed this RH/organized crime/friends-to-enemies-to-lovers series. What really made it for me is the heroine is the kind I'd want to be friends with. She is strong, kinda crazy and hilarious. Her guys each bring something to the table. It is filled with crazy twists, suspense and heat.
The only downfall to this series is there are a number of mild plot holes within the books and from book to book. I hope this author gets some good beta readers and/or editor because her imaginative storytelling is enjoyable.

Love it

I love this series so much. It captures the emotion between each character and their own personalities and how they blend together so well together. The way they all came together for each other was amazing to see. The fact that Antony was the one who was the one that betrayed her was unexpected. The way she treated her men was very disappointing and should not have pushed them away but I’m glad they came together in the end and became the happily ever after they deserve.

Brilliant Finale

Loved this final book in the Stonehurst Prep series. So much subterfuge, bloodshed, lies, deal making, deal breaking, steamy playtimes - and the last quarter of the book has so many WTF moments...! References to Steffanies other series Manderley Academy and reference to George’s duet releasing soon

Solid 4 star read with 5 stars for the series. Highly recommend the author in particular

Claws (Claudia) has plenty of challenges ahead of her in this book, lucky she has her men Noah, Gabriel and Eli to help her out. Will that be enough? Or will her enemies win? I loved this conclusion to a fantastic series, it certainly kept me going with the steam between Claws and her men, the angst, betrayals, danger, and the secrets to be uncovered.

Crazy ending to the series

Whew! For a while there I wasn’t sure how this was going to turn out. This book just got crazier and crazier. There were so many secrets and lies and backstabbing deals and betrayals. The huge one at the end blew my mind! I never would have guessed it.🤯 Thank goodness for fragile allies. As stressful as this series (especially this last book) was, I am looking forward to the offshoot series.

This was an amazing read that once I started I could not put down. It moves along at a great pace making for an easy and relaxing read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you know them and no matter what happens you want to be there for them. This is a must read book that needs to be on your TBR list, you will not be sorry that you did.

A bit too much in the end

I enjoyed this whole series, but by the end I felt like the story had gotten so convoluted that it stopped making sense. The ending is really good, but I am having a hard time reconciling the revelations at the end with what happened in the other books. Overall a solid 4 out of 5 stars for the whole series, 3 for this one alone.

I enjoyed the series however the ages of Mackenzie and Claws really annoyed me. As Mackenzie supposedly rented an apartment and was working as a waitress to spy on Claws and her family by age 8/9. As she was assaulted by Anthony (please correct me if I’m wrong) age 9 as she was “a Mackenzie sex doll”. This just was too unrealistic on all counts for me
