In an ancient civilization where adventurers use magic to explore distant planets, a lowly deckhand becomes possessed by a powerful wizard from ages past. Old feuds, forgotten legacies and undying love consume a young man's quest for purpose.
Here’s just 1 example of the action and great details of course my favorite spot! What a journey and I will be completing this series for sure!
Having never practiced the full extent of Frog Leap, my land was less than graceful. I crashed through the forest canopy, slapped and clawed by the tangle of branches, and hit the ground rolling. The foliage was thick enough to make the brightest sky seem overcast, and by the time I was on my feet, Navarra’s clouds had plunged the jungle floor into nearly complete darkness. And then, the forest itself came to life, and attacked me. The tree limbs swatted at me, their mangled branches forming skeletal hands that pinched and raked at my skin. Roots crawled out from beneath the dirt, reaching hungrily for my ankles. A humming, buzzing roar – a sound owned exclusively by swarms of insects – filled the air as a black cloud of bees spiraled from the thick trunks around me. Masses of furry brown spiders and shiny black scorpions swept the ground like incarnated fear.
You follow Kaleb as goes from country boy to full on adventurer. If you enjoy a good fantasy read this book is for you. Feels like you are reading a Dungeons and Dragons game and is very enjoyable.
This was an action-packed read! The small details and backstory for each character allowed me to truly visualize this new world. This book was loaned to me, and after finishing it, I purchased a replacement copy to return so that I could keep a book for myself. I hope the next book follows soon!
