Beau Arnett isn’t afraid of death or ghosts but the town’s new kindergarten teacher scares the hell out of him. He’s lived a tough life and runs the roughest bar in Bisbee, Arizona, but the effervescent and irrepressible Hal Kennedy isn’t the least bit intimidated by Beau’s snarls and won’t be dismissed. The willful younger teacher believes Beau is in danger and sees through the hardened bar owner’s facade.
When Hal stumbles upon a ghost and discovers a string of attacks at the school, he runs right into Beau's arms. Together, with the help of The Bachelors' Club, they'll find the pieces to solve the chilling mystery. And somewhere between the moonlight and the madness, Beau Arnett just might find...love.
Author of the popular Nannies of New York and Boys of Lake Cliff book series, K Sterling has self-published dozens of books. K. is known for fast-paced romantic thrillers and touching gay romcoms. There might be goosebumps and some gore but there’s always true love and lots of laughter.
Such a good book. I loved Hal. I wish I could be like him. He is a force to be reckoned with. Very interesting case. Can't wait for the next bachelor to catch the love bug.
Alright, book 2 from little Bisbee, and I really don't think you will be disappointed. We have Beau, long standing member of the little bachelor club who is large, covered in tattoos, own's the biker bar in town, and is completely wrapped around his daughter's finger. Then there is Hal, the new Kindergarten teacher, empathic, see ghosts, and knows that Beau's tough persona is all an act.
So what you really have is a single father who was killing himself trying to be the perfect partner who has given up on opening his heart again, up against a young energetic man who will not let a façade fool him. And it is fantastic! While many people have learned from life and experience to go for what you want, Beau is too soft a soul and would rather be cautious, take the safer rout for his heart. Which is a little different in these age gap stories and was refreshing to read. It reminded me that not all older people are as confident as they seem. And conversely, that if you know what you want, go for it. Just because you are younger doesn't mean you don't know yourself.
My only let down was the mystery. It's there, very quietly in the background, very loosely moving the story along. Then quickly gets wrapped up in a chapter or so. I just wanted there to be more clues spread throughout to keep the reading guessing as to what was really going on. You almost forget about it until another ghost appears.
I loved this latest instalment in the Bisbee series. Hal and Beau were a delight to read as Hal pursued his stoned faced soft hearted biker. Beau doesn’t want to fall for someone again and yet he’s weak against the wily ways of Hal and soon, he understands.
Sterling loves to bring out the best in characters and I loved watching how Beau stumbled into love. Her writing is fun and flows so sweetly. She has a unique way of seeing the world and I enjoy picturing it completely!
Go! You need to read about the burly biker and his determined kindergarten teacher.
A highly enjoyable second entry to The Bisbee Bachelors' Club. This time around it's Beau's turn to find love in the form of his daughter's kindergarten teacher. With the meddling of his daughter, his sister, Faith and the Bachelors' Club, Beau has no chance with strong willed and bullheaded Hal. Looking forward to the 3rd entry for Noah's, Hal's psychic brother, story with the hot and hunky fireman (yum!). and Hopefully Baxter and Russ get their turn on the hot seat of love as well. K. Sterling has given me yet another holiday destination and once this pandemic calms down into the new normal, its off to Bisbee for a big bowl of Pho.
I have everything Miss Sterling has written. She has her very own collection. I'm not one to give away cause I'm worried I'd spill the good stuff. This is the second book of the Bisbee boys. Miss Sterling knows how to weave you right to the edge . And taps you over. Both of these new series I've read multiple times they're just that good. Read this your not going to be disappointed I can promise that much. Everybody needs a Naughty girl Miss Sterling is mine
I love anything by K. Sterling and this is no exception. I love her series and how likeable her characters are even when they're not on their best behavior. I love the interactions between Beau & Hal. As per usual there's lots of humor, the sex is hot as hell, and there's enough intrigue to keep you guessing.
There were times that I felt lost in what was happening or talking about and some of the things the guys found funny went right over my head. There could have been more interaction with Jolie and Hal or maybe more with the whole family including Noah. Something gets lost when family is an after thought. I found the mystery very interesting as well as the chemistry between Beau and Hal which was warm and happy.
It's such a fun bunch! Sterling brings such an unusual group of guys together and they all have little idiosyncrasies. I love the haunted aspect. Can't wait for Noahs story.
I really enjoyed this. Hal is so determined and Beau's bemused, pessimism doesn't stand a chance.
There is a real cozy mystery feeling to this series, with it's ghosts and small town with suddenly higher than average murder rates, although there's more hot bedroom action (or hot alley action).
Normally I get a bit annoyed with quick romances, where they go from meeting to together forever in a couple of weeks, but somehow the magic of Bisbee, Arizona makes anything seem possible and I really wasn't as frustrated as normal.
I just love the Bisbee Bachelors. This was such a fun read. Mystery mixed with madness. Intrigue mixed with relationships. Can't wait for the next one!
I really enjoyed Hal and Beau! Having read the previous book and now this one - I still really want to visit the real Bisbee!! Can't wait for Noah's book next.
Although this is a mystery/horror story, it's also a fun read. This is what I like about this lady, she really doesn't take herself, or her characters too seriously, and her stories are better for it.
Ms Sterling has masterfully plotted this one, she spun a web of these daring, multi-faceted characters that are so 3D they come alive. She grabs a deep, dark hold of readers imagination and you hope beyond hope that the Spectre is real, this is, Bisbee after all.
Hal and Beau are positively wonderful together, I loved how Hal, all sweetness and light, was the pursuer. Beau was like a rabbit in the headlights for most of the story. When he accepted Hal and he were meant to be, I cheered.
Great story, so entertaining, cannot wait for Noah's book. Read them all, her books are so good! One of the most underestimated authors out there in this genre, in my opinion. Great story, main characters and secondary characters. Love the Bachelor's Club.
A casual reader starting this series with Moonlight & Madness may wonder at Hal's gumption in his initial approach to Beau but if you read Haunted Hearts, you'll already know that the romance in Moonlight & Madness is practically destiny!
Beau and Hal are ridiculous... But honestly, in all the best ways! I adored how forward Hal, a kindergarten teacher, was with Beau, the club owner. This switch in who typically is the initiator of the romance makes for a really fun read.
I love that Beau's friends and family are happy to run interference... for Hal that is. Their intent and commitment to helping Beau find his happiness makes for some great dialogue (Baxter in particular has a few hilarious moments).
Throw in a ghostly mystery, Hal's mysterious brother Noah, and a terrible murder and you've got the set-up for a great read.
Menurut ku itu perpaduan yang kurang cocok dan buku ini is not my cup of tea.
Another excellent addition to the series. Again the ghosts play a factor in some mystery sightings and eventual murder, but the resolution will not be what you think.
I'm really enjoying the last few older/younger pairings I've read as of late. Beau is so reluctant to accept Hal's overtures, not so much because of the age difference (although that does play a part), but because he doesn't feel he's worthy after such a terrible relationship in his past. Luckily Hal isn't easily dissuaded. Hal's brother is such a stand-out in this one and I can't wait to see what's in store for him down the line in the series.
If you haven't started The Bisbee Bachelors' Club series, what in the world are you waiting for? Seriously.
Wow I am blowing through these books. K has written an amazing cast of characters. I just adore grumpy tattooed but a teddy bear of a man, Beau and a happy cheerful kindergarten teacher Hal.
Beau has such a cute daughter which we’ve seen some of and he doesn’t feel he deserves love anymore. He’s a hard nut to crack to see all he deserves. Hal is not giving up on see what they both can offer each other.
Throw in a murder mystery and what more can you expect. I can’t wait to jump into the next book. I love all the guys.
A quicky review I might edit and expand later. Beau and Hal are excellent MCs with great chemistry and great, distinct personalities. The mystery is fine, the secondary characters are awesome. But I want 100 more pages. I want scenes with Noah and Jolie, with Hal and Jolie, with the three of them, and more. I love full length novels and I wish this one, just like the first in the series, were longer, less rushed, more details.
This book has a lot of ingredients that would probably make me DNF a lot of other books, and despite that I adored it. It's probably to do with both the way the author describes everything and with how, after just two book in this series, I already feel like I have known these characters forever. I'm going to immediately read the next one and probably the next one after that!
Beau Arnett loves his young daughter. He also does not trust because of how much he gave to his wife who left him. He meets kindergarten teacher, Hal Kennedy, and is scared to death because of the things he makes him feel. Hal is his daughter's teacher. He says her drawings show him that Beau is sad and needs to be happy. There is a murder and it looks like Hal might be in jeopardy. Beau can't let anything happen to him. He also begins to believe he has the right to be happy. A great story with an interesting couple.
Well, I found a few parts to be a bit confusing, but other than that? This was an excellent read, and imagine my surprise when I saw Noah's book is next...
This book continues to impress me with the depth of detail in the town, the friends, the characters. All of this with an interesting external plot makes for an entertaining book for me.
