Those responsible for vulnerable children need to know that prospective parents are suitable and have also been adequately prepared as well as approved. This book takes us through Trushali and Rakesh’s deeply personal experience of the process and so offers anyone considering adoption some valuable insights, as well as detailing their own emotional journey through each important stage, including their choice of intercountry adoption from India. As a reader, we are given unique insight into the world of adoption and what the experience can be like. The book also answers a lot of questions about what the wait for a child can really be like, because being approved is only part of the process. It also shares what to do focus on when it feels like adoption is all about paperwork and not children. Mostly though, this book is about hope and the possibilities that life can bring us all. The route to parenthood may be different for those choosing to adopt but the joy of parenting is universal, and ultimately adoption is all about children, as we learn. IAC has a long history of working with intercountry adoption and we continue to work with over 100 families each year, and we are delighted to be part of Trushali and Rakesh’s story.
This is a really good instructional book. For anyone who is thinking about embarking on the journey, it gives you all information and instructions you need. Grateful for the book. Not a criticism but only reason it didn't get 5* is as I think it could do with a another round of formal editing to help the reading but it is what it says. It's their journey and I had my heart in my mouth at the end. I hope we can follow in their footsteps soon enough and bring our child home, who may be out there waiting for us to find them
