Corey.
I actually finished this over a week ago and just now realized I never marked it as "read."
That said, I'll keep this short...
I love - absolutely LOVE - Whitney G. and her writing. I have pretty much loved all her books.
But this book didn't feel like a Whitney book.
It felt rushed, the characters were underdeveloped, and it lacked the energy and magnetism I have come to expect from a book by Ms. G.
I have noticed she's been getting away from writing her fuller novels and putting out more shorties recently and this one felt like it got stuck somewhere in the no man's land in between.
I'll keep this short and sweet. I adore Whitney's writing. I haven't read a book of hers I haven't thoroughly enjoyed...until this one.
The concept was phenomenal. The set up, delicious. The execution, completely lacking. The characters fell flat and came off as two dimensional. There was nothing endearing about either one of them. The plot felt rushed and unfinished. The flashbacks from present to past felt disjointed.
But ultimately, the nail in the coffin for me was Hayley. I. Hated. Her. HATED. She came across as vapid, immature and ungrateful. Here's a grown woman that has absolutely no issues taking money from her rich and successful older brother and lying to him for years about what she's doing with it. When her dream business (set up with her brother's funds) fails epically, she calls him for help. And on a side note, who in their right mind sets up a boutique coffee shop in Seattle, for sanity's sake?! Sorry, back to the story. So here she comes crawling back to her brother for help, he gives her a job (that she doesn't deserve) at his company that he built on his own. And what does she do? Not take it seriously, take unlimited days off, show up late, AND CONTINUE TO LIE TO HIM through all of it about being involved with his best friend. And with the way everything resolved, she never redeemed herself in my eyes. I absolutely despised her.
Add in the rest of the missing pieces and this story was doomed for me from the start. Unfortunately it just didn't work for me. I will still blindly read any other books this author releases in the future. This is absolutely a one-off, and all my favorites have had one with me. You simply can't love them all but I look forward to what this author has in store next.

She was still stunning as hell. The type of woman who left an imprint so deep on your mind that you simply learned to accept she’d always be a part of you in some way.
OVER US, OVER YOU is a romantic comedy with the ”in love with the older brother’s best friend” trope. I have to be honest, I read a story earlier this year with a very similar plot but this one here, hands down was the better of the two! Whitney G. is one of my top favorite authors and it’s very rare that she ever writes a mediocre story. I love her passion for her art. She’s not like some authors out there who seem to have a new book published every month and you can tell that it’s all about the bottom line for them. They don’t think of their fans or care if they publish a sub-standard book. I see this more with a lot of published authors as opposed to indie authors. I’m not saying that this is the case with every published author but there are some out there and I’ve been thinking about removing them from my automatic must-read list. What I meant to say after this long tirade was that I really freaking loved this book and it felt like no time had passed before I ended up finishing it. This is when I know a story is a winner! I never wanted it to end. Whitney took her time with releasing this book and I can assure you, it was worth the wait. She delivered another outstanding story for her faithful fans!
Hayley Statham is going back home to San Francisco to her older brother after having failed miserably at her first attempt at being a business owner. Her brother is a multi-billionaire with a very successful corporation. What I wouldn’t give to have an older brother like Jonathan to hook me up with a beautiful beach house, car, and a high paying job!! Hayley had it made in my opinion. But she does have an issue with sleepwalking and while her roommate to be is not due to move into her house in San Francisco till months later, Jonathan asks his best friend Corey to let Hayley live with him for a while so that he can keep an eye on her. The thing is, Jonathan doesn’t have the slightest inkling that Corey and Hayley had been secret “best friends” for many years and that they’ve harbored deep feelings for each other as well unbeknownst to the two of them.
Corey and Hayley cross paths at an art auction and the night ends up pretty steamy and also is forgotten for quite some time afterwards by an inebriated Hayley. She was so drunk she blacked out and didn’t remember how she snuck into Corey’s hotel room and tried to have her way with him. Two weeks later when they end up being roommates, Corey is cold, aloof, and downright nasty at every turn towards Hayley. Hayley’s just a bit hurt and taken aback by Corey’s treatment of her. She doesn’t know that he’s only being that way to keep her at arm’s length because he knows her brother would burst a blood vessel if he knew how Corey really felt about his little sister.
When Hayley lets Corey have a piece of her mind and is seconds away from moving out of his place, he finally reveals his true feelings for her and then the sparks are flying when all the years of unrequited love and physical desire consume the both of them. They agree to pursue a relationship but to keep it a secret until the time is right to approach Hayley’s brother with the truth.
Will Corey make the right decision when forced to choose between love and friendship?
Here are my overall ratings on the book:

OVER US, OVER YOU is currently available and worth the one-click!
3.5 stars ➦I don't think I've minded this book as much as some people did. I actually kind of enjoyed it. It was a quick read and the heroine, despite being a bit immature, didn't really get on my nerves. :D
➦So. The BESTEST part of this book was the overprotective asshole of a brother. It was so over the top that I just loved it lol.
➦I know, go figure. But it so tickled my pickle. I really really like a murderous brother in a suit who might or might not have a 45 and a shovel. And people for.. um, "clean up" I know, totes ridiculous. So sue me.
➦There's also the part where these two main characters were childhood best friends and the flashbacks were a nice addition to the story. However, I feel like Whitney G. needs to dig a bit deeper with the character development. While I like her somewhat short novels, and she seems to pull it off most times, I find myself wishing for more. There's never quite enough time to completely fall in love with the characters. #bloggerproblems
➦If you like secret relationship tropes, "brother's best friend" and "childhood friends/loved you since childhood" romances then do give this one a shot! Overall, an enjoyable read.
I've been on a best friends sister book binge lately, so I was super excited to one click this one release day, the taboo crossing the line of dating gets me every time. There were some parts of this story that I enjoyed others not so much. Admittedly the heroine did grate on my nerves, her work ethic sucked, everything was handed to her on a silver platter by her brother so we never really saw her evolve, also she came across way younger than what her stated age was in the book. It just seemed too unrealistic on how much her brother actually gave her, a brand new house, a watch, a job, a car yep these were also brand new. And we never saw appreciation, my belief is you work for what you want, nothing in life is for free, her life was free loading and just to make it that much better she was lying to her brother behind his back about dating his best friend. BUT there were some aspects of this story that I did enjoy, the email banter between the two admittedly did make me swoon but sadly for me that's where it stopped. Don't be put off by my rating, many have really enjoyed this book, sadly it just wasn't for me..
Overall Opinion: Well...🤷🏻♀️ I feel like the word for this book is "rushed". It wasn't all that long, but I don't think that was necessarily the problem. I felt like it just wasn't up to the quality that I can expect from Whitney G.. I got the impression that she was rushed when writing it or something. I never fully felt a connection to either of the mcs, and I also never felt their connection to each other. It was just surface deep, and I think it could've been much better. The blurb and premise? Golden. The execution, not so much. Sorry. I'll still read this author, but I hope this was just a fluke 🤞🏻
Brief Summary of the Storyline: This is Hayley and Corey's story. Hayley just failed at her first business venture, and is back in San Francisco with her brother. When she sees Corey again, they are both instantly attracted and memories from their past come back full force. Corey is her brother's best friend, and when Hayley ends up living with him temporarily the line they put between each other becomes blurred. They eventually give in tho their feelings and attraction and start a secret relationship. There are some sexy times and some family drama....and they get a HFN ending.
POV: This alternated between Hayley and Corey's POV. There are some flashback scenes to the past.
Overall Pace of Story: Not so great. I felt like it was rushed in many parts (especially the end), and I didn't feel like we got much depth because of it.
Instalove: No, they've known each other for years.
H rating: 3 stars. Corey. I liked him, but I felt like he lost me when he hurt the h for their big conflict. I felt like he was OTT nasty, and then did a complete 180 right away so it wasn't all that believable to me.
h rating: 3 stars. Hayley. She was just alright. I didn't like how she was with her brother, and I personally didn't like how she accepted (and even expected at time) his handouts without batting an eyelash.
Sadness level: Low, no tissues needed
Push/Pull: Yes
Heat level: Alright. They have some okay tension, chemistry, and scenes -- but not so much it takes away from the story. I felt like the scenes were mediocre, which is disappointing with this author because I know she can do better.
Descriptive sex: Yes
Safe sex: Yes
OW/OM drama: No
Sex scene with OW or OM: No
Cheating: No
Separation: Yes
Possible Triggers: Yes
Closure: This had a really abrupt ending with what I would call a HFN. Others might be fine with the closure, but I felt like we needed some time with them as an actual couple and maybe a farther glimpse into their future .
Safety: This one should be Safe for most safety gang readers
I love a story that goes from childhood crush to lovers. Throw in a Best friends little sister. Add a lot of history and bam you get Whitney G’s latest book.
I liked a lot about this book. Yet at the same time so much bugged me. Definitely wasn’t the writing, as always I enjoyed her writing style.
Hayley...... where to start. She was my downfall with this book. Her immaturity, her worst. The way she presented herself in a working environment. She came across as a spoiled brat, she got everything and gave little appreciation back. But her love for Corey, I enjoyed.
Corey.. What Can I say about this hunk of a man. My only issue with Corey was how he didn’t stand up for Hayley with Jonathon. He went after what he wanted until he didn’t. He’s smart, he’s hot, he’s all about pleasing the one he loves until he is told not to. I loved how he didn’t stop or give up in the end. The sexual chemistry was Steamy. It was hot. In the end I overall enjoyed this one, definitely not a favorite of mine from this author but I did enjoy it. I can't wait to get more from Whitney G!!
I think if I would've had to read one more page of this heroine I'd scream. She was one of the most immature characters I've had the misfortune of coming across.
This woman had everything handed to her on a golden platter by her brother, and repaid his never-ending kindness by lying to his face repeatedly. Not taking the job he created for her seriously, or respectfully. She claimed to have wanted to be independently successful with her own business, yet she had not the slightest ounce of work ethic towards the job she was given. Showing up late more than she was on time. Blowing off work to go see her man on the sly, forgetting important meetings and not even apologizing (just giving her brother a vague, "Oh, that was today?) When she did deign to do actual work, it was sloppy and half-assed. When she was confronted about it, she simply pushed the blame on "settling in" to her new life. Hmm. So, settling in helps you to become responsible and mature. Got it.
I think if I took the hard earned money that my brother gave me to get a business degree, I would actually get the degree. What I wouldn't do: take his money and instead use it to secretly start my dream business before I even knew how to manage it and succeed. But I guess that's not all that important when you have a bottomless pocket to fund your every desire. A fully furnished home owned free and clear on the beach, a brand new car including driver if she wished, a new wardrobe, custom-made job and salary. Grateful? Meh.
The heroine had a sad childhood, but I couldn't drum up any sympathy for her. Her personality put me off too much for that to happen.
I gave it a shot, but you can't love them all, and this one was unfortunately a miss for me. I may be in the minority so don't judge just by my personal reaction. You may very well find the sexy, second chance romance you were looking for here.
I'm a huge fan of Whitney G's short & steamy stories. I can't quit them. So, naturally when I realized she has a new book out and it's about a girl who's in love with her brother's best friend, I just had to read it. Plus that blurb was enticing. It was hot and exactly what I wanted to read that I was already fanning myself in anticipation.
Unfortunately, all that's good about this book stayed on that blurb and didn't translate to the overall story. The execution felt off. It's rushed and all over the place.
I know this is a short book and I'm not exactly expecting complex characterization but this book didn't even try to at least make us care. The characters are nothing but caricatures and I couldn't connect or care enough to root for them. And it's a real shame because I love this author's previous works.
I really wish I could give this a more positive review but I can't. I would suggest you guys try her other books and not this because this doesn't quite represent what Whitney G has to offer.
3 'My Chum' Stars! ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
If you have been a fan of Whitney G. for a while and you read her Mid-Life Love series, you’ve been waiting for this book since forever! Whitney has been teasing us about Hayley and Corey for what feels the longest time and now, FINALLY, it’s in my hands.
Over Us, Over You can be considered a standalone novel but I highly recommend reading the Mid-Life Love series before because many of its characters (especially Jonathan, yay!) make an appearance. So, this belongs to two of my beloved troupes: friends-to-lovers romance and I-love-my-brother’s-best-friend troupe too. Now, as I said, the book is about Hayley Statham and Corey Waters, two people who became best friends when they were young, bonded and had a very strong connection that even distance couldn’t break. Now they meet again and, of course, their chemistry cannot be stopped (not only as friends but also as lovers).
"I still remember when you used to call." "I still remember when you used to answer."
I had crazy high expectations for this. I loved Jonathan and Claire’s love story so much and I expected the same from Hayley and Corey. Well, I have to say that while I surely liked the story and it reached some of my expectations, this is not my favorite book by Whitney. Yes the chemistry bewteen Hayley and Corey was great and explosive (as with all the other books by Whitney) but I had a hard time connecting with them somtimes.
“I think we both know that at this point, there’s no reason for us to attempt to be just friends.”
Whitney G’s couples always have this especial chemistry that I love. And as I said, Hayley and Corey definitely do not lack on that department. Also, I really enjoyed seeing how their friendship developed at the beginning and how it becomes this love story. However, I felt like the characters were a bit immature sometimes (especially Hayley) and also their love relationship was a bit rushed to me. Still, overall I found Over Us, Over You an entertaining and sexy read and it was great to catch up with all these characters from the Mid-Life Love series!
“I always wanted my first to be you.”
Therefore, I am rating Over Us, Over You with 3 STARS because it was great to connect again with all the characters again and to finally read how Hayley and Corey fall in love. Yeah, I expected more from these characters but overall I enjoyed their journey as friends and as couple. Of course that does not change the exciment I always have to see what Whitney is coming with next time!
I had a hard time rating this book 3.5 stars, because up until the end I really liked it. Over Us, Over You was cute, sweet and there were some pretty sexy scenes. I liked it, but I wasn't blown away by it...it wasn't overly exciting and the romance felt a little bit rushed. I didn’t see any of the charm or playfulness that I came to love in other books by this author. Also, I think the story could have been expanded on some more!
The heroine is so fucking pathetic. She throws herself at the hero and he doesn't want her ass. She sneaks into his hotel room to sleep with him and he thinks he's going to fuck his fuck buddy but before that he called the hotel concierge and told him to make sure the heroine didn't leave with anyone so he basically cockblocked her but he sure can call his fuck buddy to fuck her if the fuck buddy got there on time before the heroine he would have slept with her.
“Like I would allow you to get a cab at this time of night.” I zipped up my pants and sighed. “For the record, Hayley, I would never sleep with you.” “Because of Jonathan?” “Because of a lot of things.” I picked up her stilettos and placed them next to her. "Why not? You're clearly aroused." She glanced at my pants. My erection was straining against the fabric. “I was aroused because I thought you were someone I knew who wanted to get fucked and—” I stopped myself. “I don’t have to explain myself to you. Let’s go.”
Regardless of the fact that I love Whitney G's writing, and her novellas ( which is quite the achievement, cause novellas are really hard to be made as a whole substantial read cause of its short form but she manages just fine in making them these perfect little gems) but we are not talking about her novella here, *sigh*
I think I had an issue with these characters, just like I was disappointed with book 1 featuring Jonathan Statham and Claire, who are, in fact, secondary characters in this book revolving about Jonathan's little sister Hayley and Corey, Jonathan's best friend and co-worker...
Yeah, you already see the pattern of 'forbidden' and 'friends to lovers' trope ahead BUT this story was awkwardly developed. Clumpsy input of funny dialogues ( that are actually always the highlights in her stories, here those sound pressured and fake).
I never believed either of them in their connection that was once friendship, then grew into infatuation, actually that part I could dig, yeah...but the 'love' after they see each other again in a forced put together kinda situation, everything was strained, forced and well empty, void of any emotional believable interaction between them, so that was a major fail, since this is supposed to be a 'romantic comedy second chance drama'...
Besides, I disliked them both, one is immature and annoying, the other is just a man-whore schmuck...he's not even a jerk worthy asshole...no substance whatsoever...
Well, it was a drama, alright...but at this point, it was kinda pointless😒
Blah. So sad about the execution. The idea was fab, the blurb gave me actual tingles, I was SO excited about this book and... *poof* It all vanished in a puff of smoke. No character development. The heroine was such an immature brat! The MCs were lacking any type of connection or chemistry, everything felt very rushed. Overuse of ellipses. Overall it left me the impression of an unachieved and amateurish story.
Whitney G delivered all kind of amazing novellas and books but I'm sad to say this one left me unimpressed and disappointed. Looking forward to read whatever she has next though.

Whenever I get a new book by Whitney G, I'm ecstatic. Her writing is by far one of my favorite. She excels in writing saucy and sexy books that often feature a jerk of a hero which I adore. It's one of my guilty pleasures.
She also writes some of the best conversations via email - they make me crack up and put a smile on my face.
Over Us, Over You was no exception. As can be seen in the blurb - there will be a plethora of emails to chuckle and smile about. It's reached a point where I'm looking forward to these emails.
( I quoted quite a few of these emails on my blog post blog post - I just love them so much ♡♡♡♡♡♡ )
For me Over Us, Over You by Whitney G. was a solid performance by the author. It wasn't her best work and I did have a small issue with the heroine, she made me shake my head at times, but otherwise I really enjoyed it. The brother's best friend trope never get's old for me. A touch of the forbidden, a great amount of sexual tension, and the never ending denial of feelings has me rubbing my hands with glee. I love that kind of anticipation. It makes for a very exciting read.
In Over Us, Over You, Hayley and Corey already had a solid friendship going, even though it took a break, they once were best friends. Life threw them a curveball and after years of not seeing each other they suddenly were on top of one another constantly. An increased sexual awareness and a drunken night, unearthed all kinds of truth as can be seen in the blurb.
So far so good, but Dear Hayley had me shaking my heads at times, that girl had it GOOD, with a brother paying for anything she wanted, house, car, tuition, and that girl did whatever she felt like - in other words she didn't give a hoot. In my humble opinion she deserved a spanking!!!
I adored Corey and Jonathan Statham - I have NOT read Mid-Life Love yet, shame on me - but the bromance between those two was adorable. Corey was a quiet brooding kind of guy. When he brought out the bossy demanding side of his I literally swooned. And the sexy times between him and Hayley were sizzling, and HOT. Whitney at her BEST right there!!!
All in all, Over Us, Over You was a quick and easy read. It definitely made me want to read Mid-Life Love, featuring the very bossy Jonathan Statham and a surprisingly older Claire - call me intrigued. And if you love the brother's best friend tope - this is your book.
Hayley Statham grew up in Ohio in foster care. Now grown up, she wanted to make a name for herself & make it on her own. She even changed her last name to Smith. She moved to Seattle & started a coffee/wine bar with her best friend, that’s now gone under. She feels like a total failure, & needs a fresh start. Her only option is to call her overprotective older brother Jonathan. He’s a self-made billionaire & the CEO of Statham Industries. She heads to San Francisco to work for her brother till she gets her life back on track.
Soon after Hayley arrives in California she runs into Corey Walters. He works with her brother & is her brother’s best friend. She hasn’t seen him in years, & he’s absolutely gorgeous. She had a crush on him growing up, and always considered him her best friend too. When they are suddenly in close quarters & spending time together they have trouble resisting one another. Corey knows Hayley is off limits to him, but soon he can’t fight their attraction. He wants her to be his in every way.
I loved this big brothers best friend romance! It’s one of my favorites by Whitney G. Corey was always there for Hayley when they were younger. It was very sweet with a lot of emotion, but then there’s the adult Corey. Holy hell the man is delicious!!! A sinfully sexy businessman who can’t quit thinking about the only girl he’s ever cared about. He never forgot about Hayley. Now she’s back in his life and turning it upside down. Loved this story so much!
Even though I think I haven’t reviewed them, I’ve read a few novels and novellas by this author, and I’ve enjoyed them. But this book was a complete mess. I can barely believe this was written by the same author as Sincerely, Carter, which I really liked.
I first heard about Over Us, Over You a few weeks ago during the cover reveal tour, and I was so excited to see it was a “falling for my best friend’s little sister” romance. I patiently waited for its release, but it disappointed me beyond words.
First, Hayley is one of the most irritating, unlikable, immature main characters I’ve read about in a while. She’s supposed to be in her mid-twenties (I think), but she sounds like a spoiled fifteen-year-old.
I was initially okay with her despite the fact that she took the money her brother sent to pay college tuition and invested in a small café business that didn’t survive a few months. It was a little silly and immature, but okay, I was willing to overlook that because she made it sound like she’d worked hard to make it work, but had been unlucky. I was wrong. After getting to know Hayley a bit better, I realized she was simply lazy and not all that smart.
Hayley really got on my nerve when, after losing her business and getting thrown out of her apartment, she decided to go back to San Francisco and ask her brother for help. Her big brother, who also happened to be super overprotective and a self-made millionaire. Oh, that’s when Hayley shows her true colors. Her brother doesn’t hesitate to get her on a private plane, get her freaking huge house and create a position for her at his company. A company he built from nothing. What does Hayley do? Refuse to move into the house until her friend and former business partner comes to town—a friend who’ll also be getting a job at Hayley’s brother’s company simply because Hayley asked for it. There’s some excuse about how Hayley has problems sleeping so she doesn’t want to be alone in the house, but honestly, none of it is explained in a way that makes much sense. Hayley obviously doesn’t care that she’s creating a problem for her brother and instead of trying to fix her situation, she waits for him to do so, which leads him to ask his best friend (the love interest) to take Hayley in.
Does Hayley seem grateful for that? Not really. Does she go on and respect that rules Corey, the best friend who let her stay with him, set for her to live in his house? Not really, either. Were these rules pretty absurd? Sure, but I don’t know about you, but if someone was letting me stay at their place for free, I wouldn’t be wearing their clothes without permission or playing music at night just because I couldn’t sleep. *rolls eyes*
But that wasn’t even my biggest problem with Hayley. Her behavior at work was. Dude! Dude! The woman couldn’t be bothered to get to work on time or do anything useful even when her brother had practically created a position for her so she wouldn’t be sitting home doing nothing. A little appreciation wouldn’t hurt, woman! Just get there on time and do a decent job, at least. Try to show him you’re grateful he’s buying you a house and giving you a car! I can’t understand what the author was thinking when she wrote Hayley the way she did. Between her brother giving her anything she wanted and Corey taking her on private planes for short vacations around the world, she didn’t have to work for anything and she couldn’t even bother to be grateful?! No. I can’t get behind that. A lack of work ethic is something I simply can’t forgive in a protagonist. No one likes leeches.
Corey wasn’t that much better. He had some big jerk moments for no reason, but at least he seemed to have worked hard for his money. And I was honestly too pissed at Hayley to really pay much attention to Corey. On the plus side, I thought the story had a lot of potential judging for their backstory. With the right vision, those two could’ve had a really touching love story.
Another thing that felt extremely off about this story was the dialogue. It was so unrealistic, I can’t even explain how bad it was. There were so many scenes that caused me to roll my eyes and go “I can’t believe this is happening”. I honestly don’t understand what happened here.
I had high hopes for Over Us, Over You, but unfortunately this book didn’t work for me at all.
If you've read the Mid-Life Love series then you know Jonathan...Hayley is his sister and Corey is his best friend. They all grew up together and all had some pretty intense situations for different reasons. One thing that was the same was that they all looked out for each other.
Jonathan and Corey are a few years older than Hayley and you guessed it, Hayley was always crushing on Corey. They were very close friends until Hayley interpreted something wrong and quit having anything to do with him.
Hayley went off to make her own way. Her brother, Jonathan, has become very successful and she wants to do the same but she's afraid to tell him. She takes the money he gives her for college tuition and opens a coffee and wine bar with a friend. Unfortunately, two years later it tanks and she has to fess up to her brother...and ask him for help.
That's where she runs into Corey again. Of course, she's at a party and drunk so there's a lot she doesn't remember...at least not right away. So not only are they working for the same company but there's a situation that causes her to live with Corey and boy, does he put down some rules...all of which she totally ignores and drives him crazy.
It gets to a point where he can't stay away any longer and so they begin a secret affair. Their out of town trips every weekend and late nights leads to a huge lack of sleep...and causes a huge drop in Hayley's work production. This, of course, only awakens Jonathan's suspicions that something is going on.
And when the secret comes out, it's not pretty but...Corey won't let that hold him down.
I did enjoy the story. Thankfully, it was longer than the novellas the author has been putting out but it needed to be longer. We needed more character development and more depth to Corey and Hayley's relationship. However, my favorite things were the emails - the drafts and the ones that were actually sent. They were really cute and funny!
Sorry, but I don’t get off by embarrassing the female protagonists. Whitney is a wonderful author, but this predictable scenario makes me question her motivation.
The book is also not safe. I have ZERO respect for any hero who says “I love you, but now is not the time” because he’s not ready to settle down and wants to sow his oats. Someone pleaser explain to me WHAT kind of love that is and why I shouldn’t be nauseated?
Fast pace and easy to read stories are among the things I like the most about Whitney G’s publications. Over Us, Over You provides both as well as a fun and sexy plot I read in a single sitting.
When Haley’s dreams go belly up, she turns to her brother Jonathan Statham for help, but planning his wedding is taking too much time. Being a loving and overprotective brother though, he doesn’t hesitate to lend a helping hand through his best friend and business partner Corey, the boy who used to be her friend and major crush before he disappointed her.
Years after Haley stopped answering his texts and phone calls, Corey crosses paths with his best friends’ delectable, lively and very inebriated LITLLE sister who finds her way into his hotel room, torturing him with sexy kisses and a revelation that she’s still a virgin. Compelled to help out by giving her room and board as well as car rides to the office, a very cantankerous Corey is on the verge of losing control. Will he risk his friendship with Jonathan to revive his friendship and more with Haley?
Gracia writes sexual tension and smart-alecky banter, especially emails, particularly well. The feeling of a years-long crushes leaps off the page and speaks to anyone who has ever felt deeply for someone who is completely unobtainable. Corey and Haley are both likeable in their own way and are easy to root for.
Corey is pretty much a douche canoe while trying to fight his feelings for Haley, but once the dam breaks, he’s incredible bossy, sweet and swoony. Haley on the other hand is young and still needs some maturing to do, but she’s vivacious and exactly what Corey needs. I got lost in their sheet rumpling and amusing romance.
I also enjoyed getting to know Jonathan for a bit and have now added Mid Life Love to my reading list.
Over Us, Over You is standalone contemporary romance by Whitney Gracia Williams. It’s a sexy and fun friends to lovers, forbidden romance. Told from both points of view and has a happy ending.

I do not like this book at all. The story, the characters, the plot are so immature. Maybe because of the short length of the book, Miss G is in hurry to pack everything into such short story. Do not get me wrong, a novella can be a good satisfying story.
Maybe my taste for rom com has been changing after 3 years reading many romance books. Over Us, Over You is just so over for me.
Um, where do I start. Not really up to the authors usual excellence. Story didn't quite gel for me. Ending seemed rushed even with epilogue. I didn't hate it but not exactly in love either. Ok read but I was expecting so much more.😐
I don't feel this story at all even though the blurb was so funny that it caught my attention right away.
First the heroine seems such a spoiled child not realising the chance she has! She seems a little to ungrateful for my taste and I have a feeling it will get worse.
What made me stop reading was how certain situation were absolutely not believable at all. First it was the way people all interact in the book without a care to who they talk to. I get that some people are blunt but in here there was no kind of respect for the people in front of you or on the other side of the line.
This is the first time I DNF a book by Whitney and I hope it will be my only one!
