A simple op gone to hell. A killer hurricane. An unrelenting enemy at the gates.
Lieutenant Michael “Rook” Lugo is a shell jockey, a Navy Tactical Armor pilot. One of the best.
When his squadron is pulled from the front lines to secure a routine evacuation, he knows something's wrong. A squadron of sixty-foot-tall mechs, each with enough firepower to level a city just to keep civies safe from a killer storm?
Overkill.
Command’s silence is the only warning a jock gets sometimes.
Michael Lugo has one job: Hold the line or die trying.
Grab this explosive, mecha sci fi short set in the Legacy of a Dying World universe today! Perfect for fans of Gundam, and Armored Core.
Plenty of action .Lugo ;Rook is his call sign is inside Tactical Armor. He and thee rest of the squadron are told to go into Orlando and find an attack by the PAC. It appears that they may be in more of a predicament than expected. Great for those who like high tech stories.
30 foot piloted combat suits? It put me in mind of Knights Errant from the Warhammer 40k scene, or giant combat Jaegers from Pacific Rim. The writing pace of the combat scenes was perfect - almost cinematic! I need to check out more of this theme in Waldo’s works.
