Am I the only one who couldn’t make it past the first 20%?? The amount of editing and formatting errors are SO DISTRACTING and I wanted to love this book based on the reviews but I just couldn’t do it! Not the authors fault - but maybe try to figure out what happened with the formatting because DANG

Good story

I really liked the story. Strong male , strong female. Good, supportive group of friends. Lots of action. Thats why it gets 4 stars. The formatting drove me nuts. Some times double spaced, sometimes single spaced., I would like to read the rest but that made it hard to read because I wanted to fix it. So it takes your focus away from what's happening.

18% DNF. i cant bring myself to put a star rating on this book since it only has 57 reviews 😭

2015 middle school me would love this book since it’s the type i read on Wattpad. the cliche, predictable, utterly boring books i loved to read when i was young. 2021 me, not so much. the layout of this book was super messy that it seriously effected my reading, i could not connect with this book. there were also so many grammar mistakes, punctuation mistakes and misspelled words. it felt like a rough, ROUGH draft of a Wattpad book. not my cup of tea...

I liked this book but OMG the formatting issues drove me insane. The various size fonts and all the spaces took me away from the storyline. How did they not check for errors is beyond my understanding.

I am not going to rate it cause it wouldn't be fair but for god sake fix it!!!

Without Choice: Dark Romance (The Divinity Series Book 1) By Elizabeth Andrews📚

📚My Rating: 5/5

📚Starting with the title of the book " Without Choice", the title is such that made me eager to read this one.

📚The book is of 348 pages, but truly doesn't feel long or boring ever, it's a beautiful read with wild plot twists. This is not any normal romantic story. Some unexpected twists and turns which made the story all the more exciting. There's nothing worse than a story that predictable and drab and this was far from it.

📚At the beginning of the book, I could not say how the story would unfold and I haven't read another book that kept me on my toes in a long time and I loved that.

📚Coming to the plot, the story begins with Aphrodite and her family leaves London and moves back to Los Angeles. Because of her father's studies they had to leave Los Angeles, her childhood city. She had to leave her home, school and friends. She thought she would be able to share her experiences in London with her best friend Adonis, but to her surprise, he completely ghosted her.

📚She again reunites with Adonis in Los Angeles, but their friendship isn't the same anymore. Adonis is completely changed. It took some time for Aphrodite to accept the new Adonis.

📚I'm not gonna spoil any more for you. Read the book to know all about the story. Trust me when I tell you you're going to love it.

📚Adonis's character was just amazing a character so interesting and deep that you could not help but love and Aphrodite was just everything.

📚I loved this first part of the series, can't wait for another one to release.

📚Overall, I really enjoyed it, it's quite different from my normal book selection, but that's what I liked and I think it's good to make a change every now and then. This book is definitely for the adults. I highly recommend this book.

Have you been away from someone who means a lot to you and you wait to get back to them only to realize that they are no longer the special person you once knew?

This book "Without Choice :Book 1 Divinity series" By is one such story.
Here our prime characters are Aphrodite and Adonis.

Aphrodite lived in Los Angles .She had the best days of her life with her best friend Adonis. Her father had do his studies in London and hence they had to move to London .

Ever since she moved to london she tried contacting Adonis in every possible way .But all her phone calls,Texts and Emails were left unanswered.

All through her stay in London she was wondering about adonis and was looking forward to the day when she could go back to her place. And finally talk to adonis and tell him every little thing that happened during the course of her stay .

Finally the day arrived and she was super excited to meet adonis. But when she finally got to she realized that he has entirely changed inside out.

Adonis was entirely another person now and it took a lot of time for Aphrodite to processes and get used to it. While they were trying
to good friends like they used to be thing started to go beyond that which eventually turns out to bring in a lot of twist into the story line.

The story ends in a cliff hanger and I cant wait to see what the next part is all about.

GREAT START TO A NEW SERIES....

This is the first book in a new series called the Divinity. It's a easy read and has your flipping through the pages without being confused. It makes you feel like your there easily. Its a book that will keep you engaged from start to finish. Warning: this book does end on a cliffhanger! But it is so worth the read!
This is a story about two best friends who loose each other then become enemies, then a little more. 🥵🤪
Read to find out what happens... ps. It’s not a fast paced book but isn’t a complete slow burn. I feel like the pace was just right!

Adonis and Aphrodite are just a powerful couple. Without Choice is an friends to enemies to lovers romance and such an easy read. I could not put this book down after starting it. I fell in love with the characters instantly. I could feel the sexual tension of adonis and Aphrodite coming off the pages. Love the anticipation and storyline of this book. The ending left me wanting more. This is definitely one of my favorite romance books. I can't wait for the next book in this series to come out!

I really wish Aphrodite would have not been so easy to give into Adonis right away I think she deserved a lot more. I really liked her character and thought she showed a lot of potential for character development but she really didn’t go much beyond the main love interest I really would have liked to get into her actual passions for the surgical field. Really hope we see that in book #2. I absolutely hated Roxy I think she’s kind of a snake she literally would cause so much trouble between Adonis and Aphrodite, Erika was a much better friend. Hudson was easily one of the best characters and I really wish they went more into the other characters other than label labelling them as the Main 2 characters friends or parents. It was a good solid story though definitely kept me hooked!

3.5/5 ⭐️ Wow. Ok, I have so much to say about this book but I’ll try to keep this short. First off, I might’ve rated this book a 4.5 for the plot because damn I LOVED so many things about it, but there were a few things about the execution I just couldn’t get over.

1. The formatting: Wtf was up with this book’s formatting? The whole thing felt stitched together. It might’ve been just because I read it on kindle but the font size changed every few chapters and sometimes a paragraph would go on for multiple pages.

2. The editing: This book felt like it was never edited or like the author didn’t even use spell check. Your was used in place of you’re on multiple occasion, during a spicy scene the word “wanted” was instead “wanton”!?! It totally ruined the scene and I couldn’t stop laughing during what I think was an important moment in their relationship.

3. The style: This could be due to the fact that I didn’t read much Wattpad growing up, and this book is a Wattpad original, but there were moments when the writing style made me cringe so hard I literally had to turn off my kindle and walk away. Sometimes I would just burst out laughing in serious scenes because they felt so…fake? Weird? Scripted?

I don’t think I can count on one hand how many times I was about to DNF this book (ESPECIALLY in the first 30%) because something erked me. *cough cough Adonis being an asshole to the point I wanted to punch my kindle*

HOWEVER, as you can see I rated it pretty well despite all it’s issues because damn there were so many parts I loved. Some scenes were written so well. The details, the imagery, was all just *chefs kiss* and while the main character was often kinda meh, I loved the side characters (whoop whoop for another two books to come!!). Also, the last 40% of the book made up for most of its previous shortcomings. No spoilers, but emotion was just portrayed so so well and I loved the way Adonis evolved at the end when he truly broke down.

The beginning was good, I liked the whole best friends to enemies trope. (Not my favorite trope, but it was good). Then there was a blank space in the middle where there was so much said but yet nothing of importance was going on. There wasn’t any climax in the middle. I honestly thought that Mary was going to die and that was going to be a problem that Adonis and Aphrodite had to face together, like it would separate them?? But she didn’t die and it was like there was no purpose of it. Sorry if this sounds rude, it’s just what I thought of that part. Then everything got happened in the end. Adonis murdering someone in front of Aphrodite, her getting kidnapped and Benjamin dying. I feel like all of that could have been spaced out better.

WITHOUT CHOICE had been on my TBR list for a while now I finally got around to reading it and it was meh 🫤. It was the plot the drew me in, the whole childhood best friends to enemies to lovers ❤️🙌🏾. For the most part I enjoyed this book. I liked Adonis, he is a possessive alpha male yet soft to the people he loves and I somewhat like Aphrodite even though I found her a little OTT.

I know I’m reading a frictional book but I felt the author built the characters lives so unrealistic is was impossible not to roll my eyes🙄😂 I felt like I was reading a 13 year old girls dream diary 😂.

A really good read! I LOVE Adonis! I mean... duh! He’s tall, dark, suave, tatted and a total badass! Aphrodite is such a likeable, sweet character that is relatable (even though she’s rich af)! The relationship between the two, especially when they’re trying to stay best friends, is amazing! When I say the tension is A1 I mean the tension is *chef’s kiss*! And oh my word the secrets!! Overall, a great story and you’re just going to have to read it yourself to know what I mean!

Meh... reminded me of beautiful disaster tbh. I think it was a fun read but I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes at certain parts of the book. I will say the level of protectiveness is yummy (but it also has me question if I need to go into therapy) oh well haha! If you are looking for something fun to read without major seriousness/reality then this is a fun alpha mafia romance! Also didn’t realize this book came our February 2021 soooo I’m totally looking forward to the next book in this series!

Being generous

This was a good story but could have been great. Loved the two main characters love story, underground fighting, friends, and mafia.

The story was too drawn out on unimportant events. Needed more steamy scenes with better descriptions.

Don’t even get me started on the errors. This could have been epic. All the little pieces were there but it ended up being alright.

Fingers crossed part two is better. These characters can be great but needs more fight and rawness.

Honestly sucked. The main character was so naive and Adonis was so manipulative, constantly trying to put on this alpha male persona that definitely wasn’t working for him. He pissed me off this whole book especially towards the end when he tries to gain her forgiveness by having sex with her. Maybe it’s just me but i hate when leads can’t stand up for them self or at least make their love interest grovel when they fuck up. So disappointing.

Amazing book. They were best friends when they were babies and now they are lovers. He has a lot of tattoos and is a boxer. Aphrodite loves him but fights to stay with him when she knows she might be in danger to the mafia. Their friends are amazing I forgot the other boy's names but they protected aphrodite as a sister. Amazing. This book is about best friends/lovers.

Aphrodite and Adonis, their relationship was from friends to enemies to lovers and I LOVED IT. The tension, the way each character was described, the way they loved each other it was incredible to read about. I loved reading this book and reading about their lives, I definitely cried at the end and cant wait for the rest of the series to come out

I loved Aphrodite and Adonis’ story and can I just say he is HOT. Elizabeth does a great job telling their roller coaster journey and my heart broke towards the end for those two. So excited to see what happens in book two with the way book one ended ;)
Only note for the paperback, is the formatting did make it hard but the story was 100% worth it!

I don’t usually give books a one star but I just didn’t like this book that much.

There were a lot of grammar errors which I don’t care too much about it but I think the author should know. I didn’t like the fmc because it seemed like she was just being rude to mmc the whole time. I didn’t like the writing style that much either. Great idea but the writing style just didn’t do it for me.

Great story line!! Found myself wanting to keep reading and having a difficult time putting the book down. I will definitely be reading the second book when it comes out. My only complaint is the book formatting and some spelling errors that were not caught in editing.
