While her horses have all passed over the rainbow, they appear in many of her stories.
When Susie Stetler's mom forces her to spend the summer with her grandmother in British Columbia, this California surfer girl is inferno hot mad. But her circumstances forced her to face a life-threatening forest fire, putting her in charge of getting her family to safety.
This Country Life story is phenomenal. Cute California 15-year-old surfer girl meets handsome, just turned 18, cowboy. That alone is enough for multiple stories. But this title throws in a blended family, a cattle drive, and a forest fire. The resulting fusion of ideas provided a ripe setting for the tale. While some tragedy should be expected, overall, the story ends well.
Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Great world building. Page-turner. Romantic. Scary. Tragic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.
