How did these words become a part of my life? It wasn’t long ago they were only tales in legends I used to tell my tour groups.
The morning I wake up surrounded by the four hottest men I’ve ever known, I realize there is no going back to my old life. They’re my mates. Yes, you read that right.
My mates.
And they’ll do anything to keep me safe and protected. The way they look at me is enough to make me lose my mind and heart, four times over.
Only, the Crescent City pack can’t slay all the demons for me. They need my help to take down the biggest evil in town. I need theirs to understand my past and my destiny.
But there are other worlds that exist. Worlds that threaten to tear me from my fated mates and sever what matters to us the most. I won’t stop until I have the truth.
What I learn on the other side of the veil could destroy everyone I love. I’ll fight with every last breath to hold on to the future I’ve been promised.
*Shifting Trust is the second book in the Crescent City Witch series, a reverse harem paranormal romance. If you love a badass heroine, hot alpha wolf shifters, and mystery and action, then this series is for you!*
Meredith Clarke likes long walks in the trees and drinking sangria. Yeah for real. Like Edward Sparkly Cullen style. She writes alpha male yet cuddly characters and the hot women that love them. Open a book or two, eat a smore, and cuddle up with the men of Meredith Clarke.
This was a good read and addition to the series. Rose is getting stronger as they go. This would be better with different pov's because no one actually speaks their feelings and what they think so you can't tell what's going on with them. Also I noticed with both books a lot of inconsistencies with something said before and later it was different or something that happened. Then there were places where characters would be and the names didn't sound as they went with that character or situation. I thought maybe it was just me with the first book but it's like that in this one also. The story and characters are fantastic but these things make it difficult to read.
Book one wasn't my favorite but I decided to give book 2 a try any way and I am sad to say it wasn't any better. It's difficult to get invested in a story when you don't like any of the characters. I find them immature, annoying and shallow. The fights they have are utterly ridiculous at times and it's like they all have multiple personalities with the way they like each other and in the next sentence they turn on each other. Not a series I will continue.
⚙️⚙️ONE EPICALLY THRILLING ADVENTURE⚙️⚙️ Skedaddling scooters scooby! Meredith hit the motherload, breaking it down and making bank with all the badassery and fiery sass, delivering one helluva ground shaking, tumultuous rock-my-world kickass rollercoaster, jetting this jewel to new heights. Bombs blasting through the night brighter than the fourth of July, serving up this action packed, hard hitting, heart pounding, pulse racing, adrenaline pumping, nailbiting, spine tingling, jaw dropping dynamo, revving up the exuberance and vigor, wrapping this jewel up sleek, shiny and tight. Unexpected events and stunning mishaps descend in a tempest of perceptive strategy, brilliant calculations and expert deductions, showcasing the perilous struggles and formidable triumphs, while attentive to the dangerous twists and wicked turns unfolding, as secrets are revealed, revelations are disclosed and vows are pledged, launching this baby to life spectacularly. The raw magnetism, undeniable attraction and combustible chemistry collides with such intensity and ardor, exploding with boundless emotions and infinite affections, bringing our characters closer, uniting them together beautifully. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits add depth and diversity, transforming into amazing personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels as though you're part of the story instead of on the sidelines, feeling everything the characters feel. Fabulous job Meredith, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.

This is a NON-SPOILER REVIEW. Shifting Trust is the second book in the Crescent City Witch series by Meredith Clarke. Rosalie is just beginning to establish herself in her new life with her new mates and life keeps clicking up the drama. With a showdown in the offing, it is more important than ever that Rosalie figure out who she can trust and more importantly, how to use her new found powers. Great action, drama and relationship rollercoaster. Some spice and lots of misdirection make this an interesting read. Series must be read in order.

This sequel was a great read and I found it equally as hard to put down. There was a lot of development and character growth over the course of the story. There was a lot going on, twists and turns that I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next. I am eager to read the next in the series. I feel like there is a lot going on and it was difficult at times to keep things straight. I am looking forward to the sequel.
I give this a five out of five stars.

I love reverse harem books and this series is a really great example of how to write a good one. I really enjoyed this book and hope that this series goes on for a long time. The twists and turns that happen make up a really great adventure and the developing relationship between the characters is great to see. I like that they didn’t just fall in instant love and that these books illustrate how hard it is to establish and keep a relationship like this going. I can’t wait to read more.

Somewhat confusing. In the first book it talks about her foster father attempting to assault her once. Suddenly in this book it's multiple times. After sleeping with Cooper, Spencer and Parker are both slightly put out, but Parker slept with her earlier in the book. Also, when they're out dancing, she makes comments like she hasn't slept with him yet, but again, she did that earlier in the book right after the memory thing Ayanna did. Anyway, consistency issues that really mess with the enjoyment of the story.
Boo ya!! What a wonderful followup to book one. Rose and her guys have just begun their adventure. Filled with prophecy, paranormal shenanigans, steamy moments, and love of all kinds...romantic, familial, friendships and more, our core group learn the importance of trust and their ties to each other. A great read and filled with all kinds of craziness!! I can't wait for the next in this exciting series.
Rose and her men have accomplished so much in a short time but it's not over yet. The pack keeps growing and Otto will be coming before long to try to wipe them out. She is learning more about using her magic but she's still keeping secrets. The closer she gets to her mates the better she handles her magic. I love all of the hurdles she has crossed. I can't wait to see what happens to Ophelia after their excursion. I requested a free advanced reader copy from Booksprout and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Rose and her mates Cooper, Max, Spencer, and Parker are working as a team to go against vampires and an evil witch. A couple of friends help scout out things and the action begins. Rose is growing in her confidence over her magic, with help from her mates. Good second book and can not wait for the next, so more questions are figured out.

Book 2 is a well written paranormal romance with all kinds of twists that take the story on a nice run and keeps the story moving. I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next book. There are times that the characters come across as juvenile and a bit flakey, which I don't care for, but the overall story is worth reading. Nice mix of paranormal concepts and creatures.

Shifting Trust (Crescent City Witch Book 2) by Meredith Clarke is an awesome story to read. This is book number two in this awesome series that I have been hooked on since the beginning and I can not wait to read the rest. The author continues to bring us more about Rosalie and her boys. Will lies and secrets tear them apart or will they be able to move forward? This is the second book in the series and must be read after book one.

Really enjoying this series! Great characters and plot that keeps you wanting more. From Rosalie who’s been through her own painful past to the guys who suddenly find themselves by her side. Can’t wait for more! Definitely worth reading.
Book 2 pulls us back into Rose's world as she becomes Alpha to her own pack and starts working on strengthening her powers as she finds a way to stop Otto & Ophelia.

Well, well ... I'll take a 4 pack of shifters please! Not sure I also want the BBEG's Ophelia and Otto ... also leading a pack of shifters sounds like a pretty big commitment. I'm looking forward to more in this series!
What a gripping read this turned out to be. A battle and lots of mates loving. The storyline was superbly written and a great second book. Certainly looking forward to next instalment.
This book was even better than the first one. Series just got better. Characters are coming along so good. Downloading next book to see what happens next
Fantastic story! Characters that will steal your heart. A storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat and glued to your kindle! For me it was a love- hate deal as the characters face their demons. You will feel their emotions and struggles. A definite must read.
A well-written, suspenseful romance with interesting and relatable characters. The story continues with Rosalie trying to figure out who she is and what powers she has.
Rosalie is one of the most powerful magical entities to be born on this planet. "I was the only person responsible for my current condition. But I wouldn’t have had it any other way. I’d saved my boys. I’d saved all of them." She still has to do something about Otto and Ophelia.
Spencer, Max, Coop and Parker are so captivated by their new Alpha and the love of their lives. It was not supposed to be like this. It should be one mate for one mate, not one mate for four men. Will they be able to live like this?
I LOVE this series! Rosalie finally wakes from the massive attack she performed on the vamps to save her mates. In this book, she will learn more about her abilities, grow closer with her mates, adjust to a new title given to her by others, learn more about the prophecy, learn more about herself and her mates…and finally learn many truths. Oh, and the cliffhanger in this one means the next book is stepping the game up…cannot wait~ I received this as an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.
Rose 4 stars. - More of Rose’s abilities are being revealed but there are also more dangers. This second book is still full of action and adventure. I still wish that it has more steam since it is being marketed as an RH-themed romance. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily chose to review it.
Second book in the series and should be read in order. Rosalie is learning fast and the hard way about life. About shifters and witches. But the mystery of her parents and what she is becoming may be too much. She has four mates but even that is still not solid. They all have fears but lies and secrets might ruin everything they’ve done. And a bigger evil is just waiting to destroy them.
I'm loving this slow-burn series. It was a great way to continue the story about Rosalie and her boys; well written with lots of twists and emotion. Bring on the next one, I can't wait!
I received this as an arc from the author and voluntarily left this review.
