21 books74 followersWhen I was fourteen years old I submitted my first story to ANALOG magazine, devoted to short science fiction stories. My story did not get accepted, but I did get a gentle rejection letter which told me to keep writing. In college I wrote my first novel, spent many years writing screenplays, and eventually ran across a story I thought I could turn into a non-fiction story. That was PLAGUE, co-authored with Dr. Judy Mikovits.
In between writing, I worked a summer for a United States Senator, spent two summers chasing bad guys at the United States Attorney's Office, and spent six weeks in a virus lab where I worked with Ebola.
In college I was a double major in English and Political Science, served as Head of our Model United Nations team, and was our school's Rhodes Scholar Candidate. In law school I was a writer and editor for law review, and also won top honors in our Mock Trial class.
I worked as a lawyer with my dad for several years, then found myself drawn to my original love of science and became a science teacher. Now I get to teach science during the day and write about it at night.

From the description of this book, I was lead to believe this was about a brilliant scientist, her career, finding cures and destroying the patriarchy all the while.
Instead, this ended up being a bitter woman talking about being persecuted by the medical community for believing that vaccines cause autism.
Besides that glaring ignorance, the writing in this is quite awful. It jumps all over the place, it’s clunky and has no rhythm or style which makes it a huge chore to read.
And because of the author’s belief that vaccines cause Autism, I have a very hard time believing any information about autoimmune illnesses/diseases and ME/CFS- how do I know you aren’t biased or pushing an agenda.
Not impressed at all.

I dislike being one of the first to review a book, but here goes.
I wanted to rate this five stars due to the amount of research & data within, but unfortunately it is written in a way that makes little sense. These are scientists, not writers, so I'm not all that put off by it, but it could have benefitted from an editor to organize the timeline and data so that it didn't jump all over the place in a way that was difficult to follow. Be prepared to be confused by the authors' way of hopping back and forth in time and subject. My other quibble with this book is the way Dr. Mikovitz sometimes made comments about other scientists or systems that came off as childish and petty. I understand that she's been wronged, but I didn't see these comments as necessary. Give me the data and let me make my own conclusions, thank you.
That aside, this book is full of science that will blow your mind. Dr. Mikovitz has done her homework and I liked how she doesn't just through a study at you and expect you to decipher it on your own, but gives you the excerpt and then restates it in plain terms that are easier to understand. Her story is one that will confound and anger you simply because of the injustice. I came into it already aware that there is corruption between our healthcare and our government, so I wasn't surprised, but the average person reading this with an open mind will be shocked.
I do want to add that to those of you who will discount her testimony simply because she includes information of vaccines that contradicts the mainstream narrative, please ask yourself what she could have to gain. She's lost everything because of what she speaks out about. She wouldn't have if she hadn't strayed from the narrative. What could compel a scientist to risk everything with no gain?
Definitely worth the read.

Wow. I know people think this is crap, but why was she never given a day in court? Why has her materials not been returned? There were a lot of names to go along with what seem to be credible studies. In 2017 I received a flu shot....after that all hell broke loose. I am a nurse and I have a seizure disorder. For a month and a half after getting the vaccine I would spike random temps up to 101, developed problems with my gut eventually leading to have my gallbladder removed with no change, my seizures increased after being in good control with the same meds for over 10 years. I don't believe in coincidences...and it seems odd that everything started after that 2017 flu vaccine, and still continues. I just find this information interesting and I have to wonder just what really is happening at the CDC, NIH and WHO.

This is not a novel - it is story explaining how our three letter agencies have been corrupted by money, corporations/especially Big Pham and will destroy or even kill scientists if they show that the system is slowly infecting the world population - which leads to death. Reminiscent of AIDS debacle.

If you enjoy bad writing, bask in intellectual dishonesty, embrace conspiracy theories, and can't even grasp the most basic of scientific concepts...then this is the book for you!

Before I begin I just want to say it was recommended for me to read this book. I did so without knowing who the author was and without knowledge of some vital Facebook video. Just as I finished reading the forward by John F Kennedy Jr. I I let a few folks know what I was reading. They let me know the author was discredited by the scientific community, had been in jail , etc. I was shocked and had no desire to read the book. Reading takes time and I did not want to water time reading material from a scientist that has been discredited by their peers. Needless to say I was curious and started reading this book. Here is my reaction.
I honestly don’t understand why this author receives so much negative publicity. The amount of facts and citations In this book are amazing. This is not a book about someone’s opinion on vaccines and why not to take them. This is a book based on scientific research, court documents and the desire to find a cure for the millions of people suffering from autism, Chronic Fatigue syndrome and other viral infections. This book is more of a plea to open the eyes of many not to say no to vaccines but to be aware that vaccines also have their flaws. Some people may be negatively affected and some may not. The issue is the ones that are negatively effected have no publicity and it’s portrayed that vaccines are 100% safe. Personally, I’m vaccinated and so are my kids. I’m not taking any side with prob or anti vaccines. I love knowledge and this book gave it. The author did express her opinions on certain topics but ALWAYS provided the reference for the opinion. Additionally if there was no backup for a statement she let the reader know and said their was not enough research done to support this claim. I enjoyed this book and am pleased that I decided to read it.

A must read, exposing the fraud and cover ups in the scientific world today
Brilliant book, with lots of studies quoted. Great to hear the other side of the story... The side that is not financially backed by big pharmaceutical companies... Covering up the millions they are killing yearly, bribing the media to propagate their medicines and vaccines... Killing innocent people, some in a short space of time, others being sentenced to a life time of chronic disease. Do yourself the favour, and read this book.

A must Read by Everyone
This is an excellent book for everyone to read. This is one of the best books I have read in the past 5 years. The book is full of knowledge that is desperately needed by all of us. The subject of vaccination and its side effects are described in detail and made it easy to understand. I will recommend to all my friends and family members to buy this book and read and use it as a reference book for future. I wish this book is recognized as a Best Seller so that the masses become aware of the dangers of Vaccinations.

I'm not quite sure what to make of this book. It's supposedly about the corruption that takes place in big pharma as it relates to medical research and politics, but winds up pointing to the authors passion project, the anti-vax argument. The actual reading is very dense. There is a lot of detailed medical information and research findings that Mikovits shares to try to substantiate her claims, and there is so much to absorb, both in those studies, but also the stories she tells about how she was persecuted by her industry for some of the conclusions she comes to. She talks about colleagues winding up dead surrounded by mysterious circumstances, her own run-in with authorities and eventual arrest and expulsion from her field, and it all seems far-fetched. The book reads like fiction. Honestly, at the end of it, I wasn't sure if any of it really happened or if she was just a disgruntled employee. *Advance copy provided by the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

If this book taught me one thing, it's not to request / get "read now" books from NetGalley on a whim late at night without further looking into the authors or you'll end up with a book that's co-authored by the self-proclaimed "world's #1 anti-vaxxer" who endorsed Rand Paul in 2016 and is blurbed by an alt-right cartoonist.
Granted I didn't read the whole thing, but that's because what I read was full of conspiracy theories (example #01 & #02), speculations left and right and - obviously - a clear agenda. Therfore, even if there was a touch of truth in Judy Mikovits' claims (and she has plenty), based soley on this truly bitter and biased presentation, I just can't and won't take it seriously.

Dr. Judy Mikovits is an extraordinary polymath and an incredibly accomplished medical researcher. She made her mark in the scientific community with her findings that led to changes in the treatment of Human Immunodeficiency Virus infection (HIV), and Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS). Dr. Mikovits is a recognized leading scientist.
Problems began for Dr. Mikovits when she challenged the use of animal tissue in medical research that was producing diseases in their human patients.
Dr. Mikovits tells her story of almost 40 years of experience in the research science field. She describes her professional association over three decades with the one of the co-founders of the discipline of Human Retrovirology, Dr. F. Ruscetti.
CONCLUSION
It is a rare thing indeed for a doctor to endanger her integrity, professional standing, and reputation to champion a cause. Dr. Mikovits had much to lose and yet her morals demanded that she reveal the truth. I genuinely sympathize with her precarious position and admire her commitment to science.
This manuscript does possess its detractors, and I have seen some extreme reviews that based their views on partial information. In my opinion this was a book that was required to correct the current situation in Medicine and the Pharmaceutical Industries. I heartily recommend this work to you, if you are willing to suspend your disbelief.

The only reason I didn't give this a 5-star rating is because the subject matter was above my pay grade. 😊 However, it is clear from the book that Dr. Mikovits is a person who lives and breathes her profession, and it is highly evident in her decades of commitment and dedication, as well as her accomplishments in her field. It is refreshing to know that there are people like her who still have the courage to stand up for truth.

This book is really an eye opener. It really helps you understand where viruses retroviruses, zoonotic viruses. come from and the truth about vaccines. I couldn't put it down. It should be made into a movie. You really see the struggle between truth and reality. I think everyone should read it! I think she’s become my new hero!

Could it be?
That scientist are railroaded and the truth is suppressed to this extent? Our children, the millions of lives affected by the cover ups and the suffering that will continue to go on as the big companies continue to profit. I am not surprised in other business areas but when it comes to the health regulatory institutions that are suppose to protect us, I am speechless and disheartened.

Plague of Corruption
I liked the courage of Mikovits for not being dissuaded into silence. Anyone can be a coward but honesty and fighting back will have a cost. If a good man or woman is silent, then evil will take over. I will not have another vaccine in my life. The WHO does not care about health but only power and money! Great book.

My review on this book has nothing to do with Party lines and my beliefs either way, that would be for a different book altogether.
My feelings on this book, and our current issues with COVID 19 and reading two of Dr Mikovits’ books now along with watching many interviews. I can’t help but feel that this World is in a heap of trouble and be very scared of that fact. I hate to use the title Doctor in regards to Fauci, because Dr’s take an oath “To do no harm” and it’s been proven he hasn’t completed that. People need to wake up to him and his cronies and realize what big pharmaceuticals are doing in our World.
This book was so interesting and easy to read even with big scientific wording, the Author is able to explain for those that are not in the World of Science.
I myself fully believe after my two daughters were given the Gardisil vaccine and they became sick with such weird symptoms that took years for Drs to figure out. That Pharmaceuticals KNEW these life long issues would occur. And kept giving it. And THEN added young boys into the mix of getting vaccinated. How I regret listening to the Drs encouragement of getting this vaccine before reading up on it as I’ve always done.

This is an important but controversial book that everyone should read in order to make informed health decisions for themselves and their families. Its revelations will deeply challenge those who trust medicine and science to be the dispassionate unimpeachable quest for truth, free from pecuniary pressures and ego, always divulging findings, no matter how inconvenient to funding sources or power brokers. Would that it were so. Science is not exempt from human foibles, and Plague of Corruption details case after case of scientific malfeasance.
Rather, human nature being what it is, today's Inquisitors continue to silence contemporary Galileos because too much money is at stake. Who knew science could be so exciting and entail so much intrigue?
Plague of Corruption is worth reading for Robert F. Kennedy Jr's foreword alone. He neatly encapsulates the book's major points and chronicles well-known cases in the suppression of scientists whose discoveries threatened both the status quo and "powerful economic paradigms."
Essential foundations:
1. Zoonotic diseases [like COVID-19, Lyme, and malaria] are diseases passed from animals to humans [we are animals, too] and “… account for more than 60% of known infectious diseases and at least 75% of new emerging infectious diseases."
2. Viruses can cause cancer and many other diseases.
3. Retroviruses can mutate quickly into strains with "wildly different genetic profiles," which complicates the development of a vaccine. A person vaccinated against one strain is not protected from a new strain.
4. Humans [and other animals] are loaded with retroviruses in every cell. Acquired retroviruses combine with our own retroviruses to "cause a myriad of diseases, depending upon each person's unique genetic vulnerabilities" (8).
Mikovits and Ruscetti made important discoveries about the retrovirus XMRV (Xenotropic Murine Leukemia Related Virus) and its effects. The NIH and FDA confirmed their findings of "XMRV related viruses in 86% of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome and 6.8% healthy controls" (94). XMRV has also been linked to "epidemics in leukemia, prostate cancer, autoimmune disease, and the explosion of Alzheimer's disease." XMRV can be passed from mother to child and many of the females infected with XMRV had children with autism. The first recorded outbreak of ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome occurred in 1934-35, in people who had received a vaccine cultured in mouse brain tissue.
There is widespread contamination of the blood supply with XMRV: 3%-8% of the population carry it, more than 10M-20M Americans. With an unsafe blood supply and an enormous liability if that fact were ever exposed, the true information of this significant problem has been kept quiet or put in doubt to protect the responsible parties. XMRV hides in tissues and is hard to isolate and detect. XMRV can also be spread through the air, saliva, and sexual activity. There is so much in this book that will make any thinking person very judicious about their physical contact.

Dr. Richard Kelley, a Johns Hopkins University professor of pediatrics and expert in mitochondrial dysfunction, stated in 2007 that "roughly 1/3 of children with autism have a mitochondrial dysfunction that is responsible for their autism. Vaccines will drain mitochondrial reserves" (137).
Let's do that math. It's estimated there are now 1M children with autism. The 1/3 of that number estimated to be affected by vaccine-related mitochondrial dysfunction is 300K. The lifetime care cost of a child with autism is estimated at $3M. 300K x $3M = $900B. It's no wonder they don't want to risk letting that information out.

The 2014 Ebola outbreak coincided with thee separate vaccination campaigns and "45M Americans took a defective Swine Flu vaccine in 1976, with several hundred developing Guillain-Barré syndrome and suing for their injuries." Moreover, "As of this writing, the Vaccine Court has paid out more than $4B in claims to children who have been injured by vaccines" (114).
In 2004, CDC scientist Dr. William Thompson destroyed data regarding the MMR vaccine and admitted to it in 2014, but, unbelievably, still has not been called to testify before Congress. Administering the MMR vaccine to African American males at 12 months instead of 36 months yields a statistically significant effect for autism, yet protocols have not been changed.
The 1986 National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act was passed to eliminate the financial liability of vaccine manufacturers for injury claims. One of the provision is "a report must be provided to Congress every two years certifying that the vaccine schedule is safe, no such studies have EVER been done" (201).
Why does your doctor not caution you? A few reasons. Most doctors are not scientists and don't know how to critically appraise the science in an article. To a large extent, doctors are technicians relying upon the input from the scientific community that may just be as tainted as the vaccines that they develop and promote due to the monies provided by grants from big pharma, and due to their own egos putting them on a pedestal of non-critical assessment. The scientific community is willing to play God without acknowledging or telling the truth about their failures and refutes any questioning to their position.
Big Pharma has extraordinary power. From chapter 12: "The pharmaceutical companies have corrupted the laws regarding vaccinations, and a corrupt media has poisoned the mind of the public. The public does not ask the simple question: if vaccines are as safe as sugar water, why do the pharmaceutical companies need to have complete financial immunity and be protected by a battalion of lawyers from the US Department of Justice?
The pharmaceutical companies are the largest contributors to the US Congress and have more lobbyists than all our congressmen and senators combined. That means they control the federal agencies, which is exactly what our constitution with its series of checks and balances was designed to prevent. The pharmaceutical companies are also bribing the media by their massive advertising buys" (203) on TV and other media. Only the United States and New Zealand permit direct to consumer advertising by drug companies.
Vaccines are intended to reduce risk, but can actually increase it. First, because “Every vaccine has been grown in animal tissue, usually of several different species, including monkey, mouse, bird, and cow. Each one of these cross-species events has the potential to transfer a pathogen to humans, or to create some new strain that can cause harm. We have fired several billion bullets of biological ammunition at the human species, and it is the height of arrogance to believe we have caused zero damage" (150).
Second the number of vaccines is excessive. "If we are taking all the possible passage pathogens, serious and mild, that we might conceivably encounter over the course of a lifetime, we are being exposed to more pathogens that might otherwise be expected. That exposure is in most cases bypassing critical immunity such as the skin and gut. Each challenge to the new system by a vaccination has the potential to dysregulate the immune system. We have no idea what happens when multiple different pathogens are injected at the same time....With multiple vaccinations, you cripple several parts of the immune system at the same time and do nothing to restore the balance of the system." (151, 153).
Third, "We are finding that natural exposures, such as having the measles, not only provides lifelong immunity, but also tunes the system to make it less likely you'll have certain cancers when you're older" (151).
Plague of Corruption is a powerful indictment of the present state of science. The book also presents insight to guide the scientific community to get back on the right path of exploration, discovery, and proper treatment.
If you enjoyed The Incredible Case of Henrietta Lacks and/or Bad Blood about Elizabeth Holmes and the Theranos scandal, you will likely find this a great read. On the downside, the book reads like a helix, with three strands that wind around, one focusing on the scientists' internecine intrigue, the second on XMRV, and the third other on scientific principles of vaccines. The repetition of important points of science is helpful; the complexity of the science may be off-putting to some. It could be much shorter and direct, but the authors felt the need to secure readers' confidence and build our base of knowledge, which takes some time and space.
To those who refuse to read this book due to preconceived notions, my answer is read Plague of Corruption, do your own research, weigh the evidence and make your own decision. Your life and the lives of your loved ones may be dependent upon it.

This book could not have come out at a more appropriate time. With the current Covid scam that is happening right now it is an essential read to understand the path that corrupt totalitarian medicine has led us down. Fauci et al have been pulling the wool over the public's, and Presidents', eyes since the 80's AIDS epidemic. His lies are historic - from giving AIDS patients AZT whilst saying clinical trials showed they were safe (they were very toxic), to today's HCQ scandal, the exact opposite scenario. He has shown himself to be a misogynistic, homophobic, racist hippocrite and complicit in the deaths and chronic diseases of millions of innocent people across the globe.
We could have medicines for M.E./CFS and a host of other retroviral borne chronic illnesses by now if science was allowed to do what it is supposed to do, ie. find the truth, constantly question, revise, improve and innovate. Instead we have an old boys club, giving selected funding to those who agree with the current paradigms, therefore never challenging the status quo. This is such that, as in Judy’s case, when a true revelation is stumbled upon, the inconvenient truth is buried by commissioned fraud, to protect a multibillion dollar vaccine industry which perpetrates a multi trillion pharmaceutical industry to medicate the symptoms of those injured by their injected chemical and biological poisons.
We such find ourselves in a world essentially run by power/fame hungry ego-maniacs and Messiah complex technocrats, bent on 'saving' the world with vaccines for viruses that likely haven't even been properly isolated (see Dr. Andrew Kaufman). Yes, the new definition of philanthropy apparently now is to oppress third world nations with eugenics experiments dressed up as protective vaccines - For the Western world, we’ll get nano tracking chips and sub cutaneous Covid passports, with restricted freedoms for non-compliers.
If you believe vaccines are one of the greatest discoveries in medicine, as we are led to believe, I would suggest reading Dissolving Illusions as an adjunct to learn from the history of vaccination, the true data, propaganda and untruths that are used in this field to back up the industry. Of course, we could have safe AND effective vaccines for those at risk if true geniuses such as Dr. Judy Mikovits were still allowed to participate in the scientific community.
This is a call to President Trump to repeal the 1986 Vaccine exemption Act, replace Fauci (he could never retire without a self-approved successor as they would see the scale of his heinous crimes) and Redfield, (not to mention war criminal Tedros) and reinstate and pardon Judy Mikovits. May I suggest also a Nobel prize. She has the full XMRV sequence in storage along with all her research notes, they could analyse it any time they wanted to do proper science.
I would thoroughly recommend this book (and the preceding ‘Plague’) to any human being with a moral compass and enquiring mind, as well as watching and sharing the 3 piece YT series ‘Perspectives on the Pandemic’ with her and the brilliant Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

A must read
Regardless of whether one agrees with Dr. Mikovits research or not, there’s no denying that in the name of science over money/power, one ought to understand what it takes to be a scientist. “A scientist is somebody who constantly questions, generates falsifiable hypotheses, and collects data from well design experiments—the kind of people who brush their teeth on only one side of their mouth to see whether brushing your teeth has any benefit.” R. This book is anti-vaccine propaganda full of conspiracy theories and false self-aggrandizing promotion. Dr. Mikovits never studied XMRV retroviruses in vaccines or autism. In fact, she ignores the scientific literature from 2012 stating that XMRV is a laboratory contaminant derived from random genetic recombination between mouse cell lines, evidence that it is not even a human pathogen.
