Colton: My sin is envy and jealousy. A curvy goddess is trying to destroy me. And when she steps on stage at the Firefighter Auction... I can't help but want her when the other guys start bidding. She might have tried to bring me down... But tonight I'm going to show her how far down I'll go. A lick here, a suck there, a nibble when she starts panting. This news reporter is going to be begging for more. None of my fellow firefighers deserve this curvy queen. Not when I'm going to make her mine.
Envy is one of the Seven Deadly Curvy Girl Sinshigh heat BBW romances that can be read in any order. If you want to see enemies become lovers and so much more, then this sinful delight of a short story is for you.
This is a short story. The style is a pleasant surprise (it's good), and it is more than just an excerpt from a novel foisted off on us as a prequel or some such. That said, however, I liked neither the plot (very thin) nor the characters (very shallow).
This narrative seems to be written as a “Gee-I-wish-the-world-were-more-like-this” kind of story. Olivia is a news reporter on a local public television station and Colton is the fire chief. They’ve had a run-in sometime in the past and, frankly, he comes across as a jerk who ignored her calls, ducked her trying to meet with him, then dissed her in an interview with another reporter. Who needs that…???
While the writer cannot help telling us that Olivia is large, curvy, a large curvy goddess, and “the fat girl” (a term I think is rude, particularly when she says it about herself), she paints an odd and unrealistic picture of Olivia who seems to have all sorts of self-esteem issues yet places herself in a position to be cut to the quick and deeply hurt. She puts herself in a charity auction where those big, beefy, manly firefighters bid on women they want to take out on dates. This action occurs after she has attacked the fire department in her news segment on public television, or as she puts it, she doesn’t “…always feature them in a good light.”
I think this story is just an excuse to write a sex scene. Sex is the goal of this story. Not a character’s goodness or feelings, just sex: unoriginal, prurient, clichéd sex. And birth control? Not even a notion beyond an afterthought of “oh well, I’m on birth control.” Free STDs available right here. Geez….
I rated this story 1.5 stars and rounded up because I think, beneath the pretentious details of the main characters’ sexcapade, lies talent. I believe this writer can write well and this short story neither showcases her ability nor does it do her talent justice. I may read another story (or book, if I can find one) by her to see if she writes something good with her capabilities. I’m dubious, but hopeful at the same time. We’ll see….
Olivia Hale is going to the firefighter auction with her best friend Mira. She’s a reporter who recently had a run in with the fire chief regarding a scandal involving some veteran firefighters that reported on without his input. Of course she is mad because he ignored her emails and voice mails asking for his input. Then he humiliates Olivia with a rival reporter.
Fire Chief Colton Dane is the MC for the auction. He sees Olivia in line to be auctioned off and he thinks she looks gorgeous. When some of his firefighters start bidding on Olivia, he becomes envious that one of them will win the date.
What does Colton do?.

Olivia is a reporter and she's at an auction for the firefighters with a friend. Olivia and the fire chief don't get along because of a story she did and went live with after he wouldn't return her calls or emails about the story beforehand. Colton is the fire chief and is the MC of the event however, when Olivia comes up he plays to win because he can't let anyone else have her. Will they make up and admit to how they feel for one another?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Olivia is a news reporter in her town and has agreed to be one of the contestants being auctioned off at the Firefighter Auction. She starts having second thoughts because she is a plus size woman and she finds out that Fire Chief Colton Dane is the auctioneer. Olivia and Colton aren't on the best of terms because she reported a story about the fire department without his input. Colton bids the highest bid for Olivia as he watches his firemen friends bid for her and doesn't like it. Things start brewing for the two when their bantering gets heated. This is a fast and heated read. This is book #6 of the "Seven Deadly Girl Sins" series.
As a news reporter, Olivia got on Fire Chief Colton Dane’s bad side when she didn’t consult him about something she wrote regarding the fire department. He then bad-mouthed her to others, so they don’t really get along.
When Olivia gets strong-armed into agreeing to be auctioned off at the Firefighter Auction, Colton bids on her. He’s determined to teach her a lesson. He is determined to make sure he is the only man taking her home this evening. Will he win the auction? Will he make her sorry for that unauthorized article? Or was his lesson intended to be a little more personalized?
Chief and his reporter!! This is about Olivia and Colton. Well, Olivia couldn’t believe that the Chief of the firefighter group was outbidding his crew because he was jealous. The story is short and straight to the point, these two are nemeses in a sort of way, but the reality is that they are attracted to each other even though he said some horrible things about her career. As always, Kelsie leaves you wanting a little bit more but use your imagination as you can see where she is going with it.

Fire Chief Colton (H) isn't a big fan of Olivia (h), a news reporter, that's rubbed him the wrong way recently, though now that she's participating in an auction to benefit the firefighter, he's definitely not opposed to physical contact of a different kind. Colton bids on Olivia to be able to claim her for himself and things get hot and steamy very quickly between the firefighter and the curvy girl in this quickie read.
Colton and Olivia have quite the strong feelings for each other - from hate to lust! Their chemistry is white hot sizzling and steamy enough to melt your panties off! This novella though short, was well written and totally entertaining. I thought it was a fun and enjoyable read!
I received a free advanced review copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my fair and honest opinion.
Envy was another fantastic story by Kelsie Calloway. Olivia and Colton begin as enemies but when she goes on the auction block for charity, Fire Chief Colton is determined to make sure he is the only man taking her home. The chemistry between Olivia and Colton is off the charts hot! Looking forward to the next story.
Another fantastic read in the Sin series. Kelsie always gives us the greatest characters and stories. I love how feisty reporter Olivia is even when she is up for auction against the one person she is driving crazy. Colton immediately decides Olivia will be his even after reporting on a situation he needs to be quiet. These two have such a perfect ending.
An auction for charity brings enemies together as their arguments turns into erotic romance. This dramatic page turning easy to read erotic short stort has great chracters in it. A wonderful erotic romance short story.

A super steamy enemies to lovers quickie. Colton and Olivia didn’t start out intending to be enemies, in fact Colton is the nicest guy you’ll meet in his town, but decisions made resulted in enemies earned. When a firefighter auction causes a jealous streak in Colton, he must have Olivia so no one else can. Will that end their hatred for each other?
Seeing someone else want what you want brings out the envy in Colton. Even though him and Olivia are not necessarily on good terms he can't help but want her. The story moves quickly but I enjoyed it and liked seeing Colton come out and show Olivia she could have what she wants.
The author has given us a fast-paced, quick read that pulls us into the lives of Olivia and Colton. The story keeps us turning the pages with anger, jealousy and steam.
