Soulmates are destined to be enemies.

Emma

Last semester, I failed the man I love.

The kingdom is in jeopardy, and I’m a pawn in a conspiracy that will overturn the entire country. To save the people I love, I must play the cult’s games… and wear a mask to become the city’s most dangerous assassin, the White Rose.

My life is in danger each time I stop Ethan’s plans to protect the realm, for if he succeeds in saving Malovia, his own life will be forfeit. But I must keep the identity of the White Rose a secret, even from my mate. If Ethan discovers I’ve become a vigilante for the dark side, we’ll pay for it with our lives…

Ethan

The realm has been cast in shadow. My evil cousin and his venomous mate are ravenous for the throne, and if I don’t prevent their coronation, everything the fae stand for will be lost to war forever.

But the gods seem determined to curse me, for they’ve put a cunning assassin in my path. The White Rose has thwarted every chance I’ve had to restore my honor and keep my kingdom safe.

The mystery has begun to unravel. I will discover the woman behind the mask, even if it costs me everything.

The White Rose will fall. And it will be by my blade she meets her fate…

ABSOLUTELY SPECTACULAR!! OUTSTANDING AND AMAZING!! I LOVE IT SOO MUCH!! FANTASTIC!!
the characters, world building, mystery, action, romance, emotions and heavy topics!!! THAT ENDING KILLED ME
The story continues, Ethan as the Panthom is on the hunt for the cult's hideout, Stefan (dragon shifter friend) knows abiut his disguise
Emma is back after winterbreak, Gabby Blackmails her to stop Ethan from finding or hurting the cult members.
Ethan and Emma reunite at the University, it's awkward and stiff. He doesn't blame her for the Contest and wants to be her mate!!! But emma stubborn as ever says they can't trust each other- passionate scene afterwards!!! They obviously belong together!!! Many passionate, Romantic and emotional scenes!!!
Delmare/Irena: she is afraid to love Stefan because of her mother who was left alone by a dragon shifter 'all dragons are the same'- later is revealed her mother doesn't care about her and blames her because she isn't a son, her father abandoned her because of it!!! She is already in love witb Stefan but too scared to admit it!! She is also being haressed by Alster )dragon shifter friend of Elija)
odette is still blind (Theo is her mate, but because of her autism she can't see, she is going to be Julliet in the Ballet performance and he Romeo!!) She is caught up in Igor, her coach- later is reaveled she has an eating disorder...Emma caught her in the bathroom, wants to help her. extremely hard to read about... especially scenes with her mother who sees it as discipline and alsmost ENCOURAGES IT!! MY BLOOD LITERALLY BOILED!!!! (She wanted to be a prima ballerina her self and pushing Odette to become the best, and Igor treatens to REPLACE HER if she doesn't lose the weight I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE THEM!!! BURN Burn burn!!! Odette almost pleaded emma to help her, but her mother interfered, told her it was her own choice and she needs to let it go, but Emma is NOT going to give up on HER BEST FRIEND!!! , tells her Theo... he is heartbroken.... huge argument with emma, she and her friends all want to help her but she denies and rufuses it!!! 'We can only show her we are here for her'
Lessons: learning to disguise their voice, putting emotions in objects and illusions, telepathy and portal magic!! Druid history: hidden king (is Elija)
-ethan is the panthom again and Emma is forced to stop him: she disguised herself too, mask from her enchantment lesson, armory she saw in the store and stole it, white rose was a gift from Ethan- she calls herself the White Rose. They play a dangerous game of cat and mouse!! She is going after him to, he found the hideout: a skull cave, but was stopped by the White Rose, he changed into wolf: 3 legs so she knows he is Prince Ethan!!!
-the prophecy: they share it with their friends, She is the worldweaver who will be the end of the world- the Black Claw need her blood to resurrect the demon god Droga- he will destroy the world!!
Lucien informed her about the worldweaver: the woman has Unseelie blood, extremely powerful, especially portal magic (emma is a star in portals) the current worldweaver is rumoured to be the brigde for she has seele and unseele blood (emma has unseele blood because seele can't touch the evil necklace) . -the goddess chose her as champion to save the Fae!
Ethan's mother: she treatens to harm her friends and family and to take away her medication because she lost Ethan the crown!!! BITCH
Kiera is not going to help stop Gabby and Elija- will out Alexei in danger, however she helps with the mystery of the worldweaver: The black claw is risking going to the underworld for Droga for he will give them eternal power- gabby and Elija will rule FOREVER!!! They want to open the barrier so they will be revealed to humans!!! They plan to enslave them, sacrifice the 'unfortunate' (sick, old and incapable people) and let the Fae rule (with them as dictators!!!)
White rose follows Panthom on ever mission, they fight and he leaves the cult alone to unmask her.
Emma is exhausted all the time, sicker and has the same moves as the white rose, so she must be careful!!!
Ethan helps her with her ilness, romantic scene!!! She watched his hockey game and wore his jersey!!!
Date; he takes her to a magical garden, they fly on windwalkers and Emma used her wings to soar with Ethan over the clouds THE ROMANCE AND FEELS OMG!!!!
During the spring festival: cute, sweet and fun, until Gabby and Elija's coronation was announced: gabby performed a horrifying illusions- she is way to powerful, to keep people in line,
Ethan gets drunk...
The competence test: Delmare made a confusing potion for Gabby (which didn't work...) ethan spelled his fake Amulet to let Elija confess his intentions: to let the fae rule over the world, used the great Supernatural war as example: they lost the war and want revenge on them and the humans!! But the Circle AGREED WITH HIS IDEOLOGY!!! (except Lucien and madame Magdalina) They all crave power and don't care about other people's lives!!!
Kiara: she doesn't believe unseelie magic is evil: Seelie magic comes from the person himself and Unseelie comes from objects or external sources (wands and crystals) both magic becomes evil when the INTENTION is evil!!! 'History is written by winner's, doesn't mean it's the truth!!!' She helps Emma translate a grimoire: a spell to break hexes
She used it against Gabby to break a bindingspell
The ballet: odette danced flawlessly until the last move with Theo, SHE FAINTED!!! MY HEART COULDN'T HANDLE THIS SCENE!!! -rehab
Kiara gave Alexei a potion for his anxiety- POISONED BY GABBY!!! Kiara could make a cure and save him!!! It was meant for her as retaliation!! UNBELIEVABLE!!! Kiara is determined to take her down, one time she cursed her
Delmare was almost raped and Stefan saved her just in time!!!! and knocked the crap out of Alster
Portalspell in the grimoire: emma cast the spell and Odette heard singing, portaled into the Willow Maiden: to Edenmyre: home of the ancestors fae: I pleace straightout of a dream!! A peacefull, fairytale like Valle. (The men changed into their wolf/dragon/allicorn form and their mates got their features like a unicorn horn and wings), all magic comes from this place, they find the goddess Milonna: the fae were banished bcause of the war between seelie and unseelie, godess Neva put a loop on the world: to stop time, but it is about to end- time will return and, portal will close forever and the fae will lose their connection to Edenmyre and DIE!!
The god Tomir scattered the 6 magical crytals of Harmony (which holds the healing power and kept the portal open to allow the fae to joiney back and forth. They must reunite them so the portal will heal and the connection will continue or else: The portal will dissapear and the fae's magic with it!! It will extinct the all Fae!!!
4 in each faction: wolven value undying loyalty: was in Emma's sword Ethan made for her( heirloom) dragon value is bravery, allicorn: faith and griffon Compassion. Others seelie and unseelie.
They need to find these before Gabby and Elija (who will give them to droga) and all hell breaks lose!!!
The worldweaver's destiny is to find the crystals to heal the barrier In 3 years before she dies!!!
Dragon crystal: stefan and Delmare have to battle an owl creature, stefan got bitten and Delmare killed it, but the box didn't open so it wasn't the real test. Stefan is dying and Delmare FINALLY proclaimed her love!!!! In the box was a dagger, she STABBED IT IN HIS HEART!!! (Crytal healed him) THEY ARE OFFICIALLY MATES!!! (I think every couple has to proclaim their love)
They are able to portal back to earth
Emotional scene between emma and Ethan: he opens up about his leg and she about her illness 'my body is just as valuable as other's ' they are vulnerable!!!
Kiara found out about gabby's powers, they have to come from Droga!! Phantom goes after gabby and white rose interfered. he suspects emma, Delmare disguised as the white rose and attempted to assassinate emma!! It worked but he wants to kill the whote rose
black claw is sacrificing monsters to open the border: to make them more powerful
Masquerade ball: night before the coronation, th whote rose is used as puppet, she dances with Ethan and Gabby is going to perform a ritual. The friends go after her while Ethan is stopped by the white rose. He chooses to kill the white rose (Emma's plan was to make ethan stop chasing gabby while she went after her herself- failed) ethan is ruthless and SLICED HER MIDDLE!!! (before she could reveal herself) 'you can put the mask off ethan, it's over'
HEARTBREAKING SCENE!!!
After they go after gabby and record the ritual: she killed a deer, drank a potion and covered herself inBLOOD!!! The earth opend up and fed Droga the deer and tree before it touched a barrier. THAT WAS HORRIFYING!!!
The plalace in under attack!!!: they fight the black claw, but it was a SET UP!!! gabby and Elija 'saved' the arceanians by killing the cultists!! Now they are honored as gods!!!
Emma used the video as blackmail against gabby: leave Ethan alone or else we will show it. (She chose ethan because they need him for the crystals,)
Ethan is enraged, he wants to end Elija and gabby and their reign 'for the good of Malovia ' but they need to find the crystals first or else the world will be doomed. They made a Dragon Oath to bind the pact
Emma gives Ethan a choice, its the phantom or her (the phantom is a monster, but it's the only link he has to his father and to 'protect' his people, but he acts like a fascist!!!) He chose the phantom I AM SOO CONFLICTED!!!
HEARTBREAKING SCENE!! emma is going to fight for self and is going fill her destiny as the worldweaver 'the world is a chessboard I thought I was the queen, turns out I was just a pawn'
Ethan breaks appart and goes to his cabin- HE IS POSSESSED BY A DEMON!!! (the one who killed his father) he whispered thoughts as the Phantom into him, but his acts were his own... the demon could only strengthen his dark thoughts and give an opening.... only Emma's bond can save him, but what if she doesn't love him anymore and breaks the bond!!!! Ethan has reborn in order to save the world and fight for his mate!!! I HAVE NO WORDS FOR THIS BOOK!!!

Note: I received this book from the author and I voluntarily give this review, it is my honest opinion.

Dragon's Oath is the second book in the Hidden Legends University of Sorcery series and I liked it even better than the first. In Wolven Mark I was getting to know the characters and learning the world, it was a good base to the story. In Dragon's Oath, I was able to dive deep because I was already connected to the characters and somewhat knew the world, and I loved every minute of it.

Like the first book, this story is told from both Emma's and Ethan's perspectives, they are the main focus of the story but this time the entire gang was focused on. I loved that I got to learn more about the other girls and hear more from the guys in the group. While Ethan and Emma are the main characters the other characters are brought forth. We learn about Delmare's past, Odette has issues that come to life while Kira is becoming more involved with things than she was before. As for the guys they are more vocal about what's going on, we hear about there opinions. Truthfully, I love everyone in this group, they all bring a little something to the story and while they each frustrate me in someways I overall adore everyone, especially Stefan (best friend, best friend).

Emma and Ethan are killing me. These two, I want them to be happy but things keep getting in the way, secrets are being kept and a lot is hanging on their shoulders. It kills me when things are hanging over the heads of the characters I care about, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop but I had no idea what it was going to lead to.

The story was amazing, I was riveted to my seat and I hated to put the book down. As I said before more of the other characters' stories were told and I love getting to know more about them. The world-building is great, learning more about the fae gods, the fae history and their magic system were very interesting. My favorite parts are with the gods because I read a good amount of fae stories and this is the first time I've seen religion (gods) introduced.

So much happened in Dragon's Oath, a few storylines were playing out so there is no room to be bored, romance, drama, family, gods interfering with mortals, evil lurking and plot and so much more. I can't explain how much I loved this book and I can't wait to read the next book in the series because things are just getting started and I am ready for it.

A great continuation of the series and I can't wait for the next book. It was powerful and dark in places. It was like a roller coaster ride for me...... I LOVED IT! Can't go wrong picking this book up. The characters are getting stronger and the romance is going off the charts. The all the magic going on will have your head spinning around. Boy I may just reread the 1st book while I wait for the 3rd book.
Emma feels bad enough that she costed both Ethan and her to lose the throne. She may have to do stuff she doesn't want to. And Ethan isn't helping on matters any either with what he is up too. But they both have one thing in common. Wanting to save the throne from the evil king and queen currently on it.

So I loved the first book but this second one, well it was even better! The continuing storyline is dark and full of adventure, magic, romance and deception and the characters are full of emotions , loss and secrets! This had me on the edge of my seat and I just could not put it down and I do love this magical world to escape into!

Ebook and Audiobook Review:
The Dragon Oath (Hidden Legends, University of Sorcery #2) is well detailed in world building descriptions and settings. Told in dual pov giving you a better understanding of the characters. Characters are compelling with complex personalities. Absolutely loved this addition to The Hidden Legend Series. Pure Magic!!! Highly adventurous, swirling with magic, oddles of suspense, a dose of mystery and love. Wonderful magical creatures in a magical world to escape too. The writing style is captivating and organic. The writing is eloquent. Highly recommend reading/listening. I'm excited to find out what happens next.

Narrators Kim Reiko and Maxx Pinkins dual performance brought the characters and story to reality. Kim's performance of Emma brought out all her emotions and Maxx gave Ethan a strong and confident intonation.

**4.5 Stars**

The Dragon's Oath picks up right after The Wolven Mark ends, with Emma disgraced by cheating and Ethan further away from the throne he deserves. They are still keeping secrets from each other, secrets that may break their new tenuous bond- but they have bigger issues than their hopeful romance and that is stopping the evil that is coming for Malovia and its people.

There was so much going on in this sequel, be it battles, lots of lies, truth bombs, eating disorders/mental health issues, family drama, court politics, secret societies, evil dark gods, angsty romance, as well as great friendship. I found it super easy to get lost in this world and be sucked into the drama, rooting for this hodge podge cast of characters and the never ending problems that keep piling up.

Ok, full disclosure, I love this series and this world and will happily consume all things by this author, but Emma drove me insane in this book. She was keeping secrets but then expected honesty at all turns, she lusted after Ethan and seduced him but then acted coy, and was overall super confusing (for both Ethan and me). I just wanted to shake her and tell her to be honest and everything would work out for the best- at least that is what my hopeful soul says! I did appreciate her strength in the face of her own personal struggles with her health and her overall positive attitude.

I discovered that there is going to be 6 books in this series and I am equally ecstatic that I get so many books set in this detailed, dark and magical world, and saddened because I can only imagine how much more heartbreak Emma and Ethan are going to experience over the next 4 books- and I will be here for each coming book! This is the perfect read for anyone who loves magical academy stories, with fae and all kinds of creatures and danger.

Having listened to and reviewed the first audiobook in this series, I was approached by the author to do the same with book two. I can honestly say that I enjoyed this one more than book one! The author, Megan, does an excellent job developing the POV narrators as well as secondary characters. We learn a bit more about the history and lore of the fae, which is becoming increasingly important as the ensemble moves toward their fate.

Megan does an amazing job developing diversity through physical ailments such as amputation of a limb and an immune disorder as well as addressing mental issues like eating disorders. I found it refreshing that these issues are important and treated with respect but also aren’t exoticized either. While not “normal”, they were woven into the story with care and articulation, making them seamless.

Megan also does a great job invoking emotional attachment in the reader as I found myself ranging from frustration with characters, scared for them, and hating their choices. The emotional investment flowed well with the story’s pacing, and I find myself wondering what happens next for our group of friends.

One last thing, the dual narrators, Kim Reiko and Maxx Pinkins, did a great job performing and invoking depth to the story. I will say that I don’t personally care for Maxx’s “girl” voice, but I’m pretty sure that is just a me thing. I look forward to returning to this world again soon!

I received this book as an arc and am leaving my honest opinion.

Holy Shit this book is so great. I love everything about this book.

So much is going on in this book I don’t know where to start. Ethan and Emma’s relationship was so good. All of the sexual tension was so great. The way things are portrayed In this book are so well done. The friendships between everyone was ever better in this book than the last. I love the lies kept between the characters and that leads to a pretty epic ending that was so unexpected. The lore of the world gets better and better. Gabby and Elijah being the villains is so good and I cannot wait to see what comes next.

I have so much more to say about this book but it is all spoilers but overall I absolutely love where this series is going. I cannot wait for the next book. I would definitely say that this is definitely on the upper end of YA which I absolutely love.

The Dragon Oath (Hidden Legends: University of Sorcery Book 2) ~~ This book takes everything higher — more danger, more magic, more heartbreak, and deeper emotional stakes. Ethan and Emma’s bond grows stronger and more raw, and the trust they build feels real and earned. I love that nothing about their journey is easy.

The world grows bigger and the enemies far more terrifying. The battles in this book had me holding my breath.

And again — Audible is incredible. The voice actors pour emotion into every moment, and it feels like you’re standing inside the room during the fights and confessions. Listening made every scene hit harder.

I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself — you won’t regret it.

Oh my....she does it again. Megan took me on a rollercoaster of an adventure with the second installment of the series. I didn't expect the plot twists that just kept coming! Beautifully written and detailed and I just want more! I loved the character development of Prince Ethan, and can't wait to see if he continues to change in the next book. Emma makes me feel like she's the underdog (even though she isn't!) that we all want to succeed and win at the end. The creatures are unbelievable as they draw breath from the book, and I wish they (ok, not all) were real. It would definitely be neat to see them come to life on the big screen. Regardless, props to another fantastically written book that leaves me wanting more of this universe.

A compelling paranormal & urban fantasy romance. Emma, Ethan, and their companions work to thwart the crowning of the King's Challenge winners. Ethan spends his nights tracking down and interrogating members of the Black Claw. Emma, at the demand of the winners, works to impede his progress.

Treachery, betrayal, and secrets abound in this tale. Pressure within the group and from external sources keeps the story interesting. As with the previous title, this one ends tragically. Nevertheless, I plan to continue since I expect things to eventually turn around.

Entertaining. Haunting. Romantic. Scary. Steamy. Tragic. Unpredictable. Whimsical. Wonderful characters.

I received a review copy of this book from a third party. This is my honest review.

What a beautifully written powerful but dark storyline. Ethan and Emma’s story continues in the epic world of magic, romance, tragedy, and beauty. They find themselves trying to figure out how to move forward after being disgraced by cheating and loosing the throne. Their friends Kiara, Alexei, Delmare, Stephan, Odette and Theo take a Dragon Oath to stop Elijah and Gabby and save Malovia and the other Arcanea. What a wonderful tale with many many twists and turns. I really enjoyed the growth of the world and characters. Their abilities continue to evolve and help shape who they are becoming! Excellent read!

The second book in the University of Sorcery book continues the story of Emma and Ethan. It shows the fallout from the end of the previous book and the continued development of the relationship between Emma and Ethan.
There is a lot of miscommunication and secrets within this book. I did spend a large amount of time thinking, just tell each other the truth! I will say that the twist at the end was fabulous and at least explained some of the behaviours from the characters.
I love the disability representation in these books. I feel that it normalises chronic illnesses and also tries to represent them appropriately.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series.

The first thing I have to say is that I love how there real life illnesses and disability. And I like how isn't the main people in this series that have these illnesses and disabilities.

I think that all the secrets are now in the opening. Because all the secrets you can tell were getting harder and harder to keep. But most of all I like that Emma told her friends about her illness. I like how this book shows how that if your friends care/love you have nothing to worry. And I cant wait to see what happens next.

Audio review:
This is the second book in the Hidden Legends: University of Sorcery series and what a great continuation of the series - I feel this was even greater than the first. I really liked the first, Wolven Mark, where I got to know the characters, the worldsetting and so forth.. But in Dragons Oath, characters got stronger, things got darker and all the adventure/magic almost left me breathless at times! I couldn't put it down, and the ending.. Sweet baby Jesus, that ending killed me. On to book three!

I love all books by Megan Linski not only because they are fun to read but also because of her characters imperfect health. The hard reality of dealing with chronic diseases is woven effortlessly into entertaining fantasy story. “The Dragon Oath” is my favorite book in the Hidden Legends World, maybe because in the audiobook, whenever there was food description, the otherwise impeccable narrator butchered the pronunciation of every classic Eastern European dish (very funny for native Slavic speakers).

The adventures continue with Emma, her mate, and their group of friends. There’s a lot going on with them as they navigate personal struggles as well as try to save their country. There were times I wanted to strangle several characters for their ridiculous choices! I really hope a certain character gets his you-know-what together in the next book!

Thank you to the author for a free copy in exchange for an honest review.

My Goodness Ethan and Emma have upped the ante in this book one fighting on the dark side Emma as the White Rose the other Ethan on the light side who is hunting the White Rose for making trouble for him trying to restore his honor after the debacle of the Kings Contest.. But Emma is only doing it to save Ethan. With Ethan's evil cousin and his even more awful mate trying to take the throne will Emma and Ethan save the Realm and take the throne together.

I am loving all of these stories within the Hidden Legends world. This second book in the University of Sorcery series was absolutely addicting! Picking up right where book 1 left off, we find Emma and Ethan in precarious situations. And it only gets more convoluted and messy as events progress. We are given twists and turns throughout this book and I am so excited to continue this series in book 3! I need more!

Well that’s how you end a story on a cliff hanger! I love how the author uses her platform to educate the readers about disabilities and medical information awareness. Each of the main characters have something that impacts their life and the storyline looks into the daily struggles. The main story line is gripping and written beautifully.

Book 2 gives us more drama, love, hate and mysteries! You are again left wanting the next book!!
This book also dives deeper into the differently abled main characters! It explains more into how they are different without belittling, giving sympathy or acting like it isn’t a part of their life. 💖

The story is interesting and fills some of the gaps that I wondered about while reading the witch series. The end was predictable in some points, since I’ve read the other books and expected it, but surprised me in others. I’m looking forward to the next book. 5 stars.
