'TEMPTED HEIR:' is the seventh full length romance book in the series 'The Heirs', by Michelle Heard. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'
This is how a friends to more romance should be done. it was written in the cards that these two were made for each other, the transition just came naturally to them, soul mates that were the perfect match. This series is one I love so much. I love seeing them grow, I love watching them fall in love, those slow burn feels just come so easily.
Dash had that one person in her life that was her everything, her best friend that she would drop everything for and vise versa, the same went for Christopher when it came to Dash, and it always put a strain on whom they were dating at the time. They've been close since birth and no one could break the bond these two shared.
❝ When I was fifteen and Dash thirteen, we made a stupid pact to never date each other. Our friendship is everything to us. It's all that matters.❞
Dash is over the dating game, but wants a baby above anything else, even if she's doing it single handedly, so when Christopher comes up with a plan that he wants to be the one that gives her all she desires we're swept along on their journey as they tiptoe out of their friendship zone to more.
So there I was all loved up on the love train loving the path this author was taking me down when BAM without warning I'm thrown down a twist I never saw coming!! I sat there screaming at my kindle, cussing the author out. Her twists are always unique, always unexpected, she lulls you in and then when you least expect it she'll start dropping little grenades at you. Do not be fooled by her innocent looks, this author is pure evil, but god us readers love her!! This is a series I never want to end, because book by book you fall in love with each character.
Plot Summary : Chris and Dash have always been best friends. None of them have been able to have a serious relationship because of their commitment to each other. That is until Dash takes a serious decision. She wants a child. And there is no way Chris is going to let her do that with the help of a sperm bank.
He steps up to help and Finally get the girl he has l always wanted . Everything is perfect and dreamy until an old enemy strikes and breaks everything. Now it is upto these two to make things better again and take the happy ending that should have always been theirs.
Overall Opinion : It's Cris's chance!!! I have always wanted his story since the moment I read about him in the earlier books. And then when I got a whiff of him being paired up with Dash , I was all over this book!!
Best friends to lovers trope is something that I am always willing to read. The angst and the steam is something that I definitely love and it's amazing to read. The same goes for this book. I swear this series just keeps on getting better and better!! Every book has its own story and I am pretty surprised at how diverse Michelle was able to make them. The whole series is addictive and there is no way you won't be hooked if you read a single book of this series!! Chris and Dash have one hell of a tale which is full of love , friendship and so much heartache , that all contemporary romance will love!
"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same."-Emily Bronte
Honestly, I don't know how this woman is doing it but with every new story in this series, she is pulling me a little bit more under her spell and I don't even want for this series to end. It's like an addiction that I never want to quit. This book was my favorite in the series, even though i loved all the previous stories in "The Heirs"...
Christopher Hayes, rich and handsome, Kissed the girls and made them cry. When Dash wanted to play, Christopher decided it was time to stay.
You see, Michelle has this unique ability to give you a very sweet story, in this case a friends to lovers, and when you think that everything is just perfect and what more can happen in the rest of the book, she is giving you a HUUUUGE twist that you never saw coming and she leaves you ... kind of breathless!!! And I love it!!! I love this rush that she is offering me with every ride... But darn it, Michelle, you made me cry in here and I cried a lot. My heart was in deep pain while I was reading the things that poor Dash had to suffer and that damn organ inside my chest was breaking over and over again!!! But, let's take things from the beginning...
"How do you explain to potential boyfriends that your best friend is a guy? No one can understand that, and it makes dating near impossible."
Dash and Christopher were best friends since they were still on diapers... Honestly, I really admired the kind of friendship that they were having... They were so true and loyal to each other... No matter what would happen in their lives, they were each other's constant... They had even ruined relationships because of the other... The truth is that these two would be a great couple, and they were the only people that they couldn't see it. Or could they???
"What we have ... it's hard to put into words. She's the other half of me. It's like we share the same soul."
Dash believes that she and men are over after a bad experience years ago... She had reached to a point that she wants a baby of her own, without a man by her side... She had decided to use a sperm donor. Christopher though has his own thoughts about that... The only thing that he needs to do is to persuade Dash to give him a chance and to change their status from friends to lovers... But is it really that easy???
"I've always seen her as mine, but being her friend is not enough anymore. I want all of her."
Well, I really loved this story... I liked the foreplay between these two... The temperature was rising for good while I was witnessing it... Christopher and Dash had a unique bond from the first moment and it was inevitable for them to not end up together... But fate or... someone has other plans for them and their happiness is in jeopardy, but in a cruel way that really, you couldn't see coming in your way...
"I can get used to this." "Yeah?.. Being mine?" "I've always been yours."
Dash... Oh my poor Dash!!! I have no words to describe what this "adventure" made me feel for her... My heart was breaking for this girl that didn't do anything wrong... She just paid a very big price with no reason... And Christopher... Honestly, I didn't think that I would love this man so much, but I did... He was a solid and very loyal rock for Dash. His love for her outshined everything else and it was showing... This couple was perfect, even with so many imperfections...
"How do you survive this kind of devastation? Do you ever heal from it?"
"If I had lost you... there'd be no tomorrow."
Another beautiful ride in the heirs world by Michelle Heard and I can not wait for the last book... To be totally honest here??? I'm kinda sad that this journey is coming to an end... I used to read about this bunch and I will miss these guys soooo much!!!
"They say you learn the true meaning of life when you find that one person you'll sacrifice heaven and earth for. In this moment, I learned my true meaning of life _Dash."
**I received an Arc for the exchange of an honest review.**
Christopher and Dash's story is one of friendship, love, and promises. I enjoyed the friendship between Christopher and Dash but what I loved even more was the way Christopher was with Dash, he wanted her but was willing to wait until she saw what he did.
This story starts off with Dash dating someone that was toxic but thankfully her friends were around to help her through the end of their relationship. Dash is hard on herself wondering why she can't make a relationship work.....well everyone had a clue but her and it takes her years before she figures it out.
If you have been reading this series you know they aren't light and fluffy especially SINFUL HEIR which was Christopher's younger brother Tristan's story. This one isn't as dark as that one but yeah it has some pretty cringe worthy scenes.
"There aren't words to describe how much I love you." My mouth curves up, and I press a tender kiss to her lips as I murmur, "Unconditionally. Irrevocably. All-consumingly." A bright smile lights up her face. "Eternally."
I am loving this series and I am loving that it's getting a little darker in the last couple of books, will that trend continue ? I don't know but I do hope so!
Do you have a best friend of the opposite sex? Does it cause issues with your significant others? Do you believe men and women can be friends without wanting more? This story brings up so many questions. I will admit that I am married to my best friend although we didn't meet until we were adults.
If you enjoy friends to lovers, new adult romance, romantic suspense, or dark romance I would highly recommend this book to you.
This book surprised me in the very best way. Boy did the author lull you into a false sense of security!!! One minute you think she's gone back to sweet after the bloodbath that was the last book, the next you're white knuckling your kindle, screaming your head off. Absolutely loved the twist, it will grab you out of nowhere. And this books starring couple were just as amazing. The last half of the book deserves 5 stars alone. Leaving my review here so you can experience it all first hand.
Michelle Heard just know how to rip your heart out. I was freaking anxious the whole time I read this book ☹ I knew something was going to happen I just didn’t know what or when.
Christopher and Dash were best friend since they were babies and also both had their share of bad luck in romance, reason because their girlfriends or boyfriends didn’t understand their friendship. After her recent break up, Dash decided that she wants a baby more than anything in her life. So she decided to get a sperm donor. But when Christopher finds out lets just he was not amused, lol and came up with his own plan.
Suspense, drama, angst, romance and so much more. What am I going to do when this series ends. Michelle you have set an expectation and need to deliver lady 😊 Like all the books in this series, once you start you cant stop reading until it ends. And Christopher and Dash’s story was just that, from start to finish in one go. I don’t know if I’m excited for the next book or just sad as then it will all come to an end ☹
"What we have ... it's hard to put into words. She's the other half of me. It's like we share the same soul." "I can get used to this." "Yeah?.. Being mine?" "I've always been yours."
Book 7 in The Heirs series but can be read as a standalone
Dash and Christopher have been best friends basically since birth, and both have basically had a very hard time dating because really no one can accept how close they are, there is nothing they dont tell each other, well except the fact that Dash wants a baby with a sperm donor. Once Christopher finds this out everything changes.. His not going to let his best friend, his other half have a baby with a stranger, no way. So he has a proposition for Dash, one that he is hoping she will not turn down.
This story is about falling in love with your best friend, finally seeing what has been right in front of you the whole time. But these two do not have an easy journey, when the past comes knocking will it break them or will it make them even stronger? Will they survive going from friends to lovers? Will they last or will their strong bond be broken forever if this doesnt work? Will hearts be broken or will they finally discover that this is it? well your going to have to read it to find out.
Ever since I finished the Trinity Academy series by Michelle, I have been so ready to read the spin off series starring their kids, and the kids from the Enemies to Lovers series. The crossover of these two worlds began in the final two books of the Trinity Academy series and I was excited to see all the kids grown up and ready to have their own HEAs. Tempted Heir is book 7, and the penultimate book, in the Heirs series but can be read as a standalone, and although I was not as excited for Dash and Christopher’s book as some of the previous, it’s safe to say they are now one of my favourite couples from this series.
Dash and Christopher have been friends since they were babies, but nothing romantic has ever happened between them as they put together a pact when they were in their teens to always remain friends. Until one night in their early 20s when they agree if they aren’t married by 30, they will get together. 5 years later, Dash decides she wants a child, even though she has no one to have a baby with, deciding to use a sperm donor. Christopher, who has been harbouring feelings for Dash for years and has been patiently waiting until she’s 30 realises this is his chance, and offers her what she wants, but on his terms, he wants to try a real relationship. Dash is hesitant at first, she’s had a history of bad relationships, but hesitantly agrees. Everything is like a fairy-tale, until someone from Dash’s past reappears, but will they ruin everything Dash and Christopher have built?
This was such a perfect friends to romance, because there had been this simmering tension between them for so long, but neither wanted to ruin their friendship by acting on it. I loved how their connection was so real, and they felt so comfortable with each other, the only thing missing between their relationship and a romantic one was the intimacy, which they soon had by the bucket load.
Christopher had been ready to show Dash his true feelings for her for so long, and he knew that he only had this chance to prove to Dash that they were meant to be. I loved his persistence, how he knew that she didn’t believe him at first, not because he hadn’t shown her how much he cared but because of her own insecurities. But he helped bring her out of her shell, show her that the only person’s whose opinion matters is her own, and that she deserves everything she wants in life, whether that’s Christopher or a baby. But his alpha side he kept hidden from her was so hot, I love when heroes have this alternate side of them they only show their heroine, and despite how well they knew each other, Christopher still kept some surprises up his sleeve for when Dash finally became his.
Dash had spent so long being told she wasn’t good enough by previous partners, although she and everyone else thought she’d healed over time, it was clear when the prospect of a relationship with Christopher came up, it brought back all these self-doubts. But Christopher helped her work through them, proving that he would be there whenever she needed him, and would stop at nothing ot keep her safe, from not only outsiders but herself too. Her experience was traumatic and terrifying, but I really liked how Michelle wrote her recovery, it was realistic and not instant, she wasn’t back to her normal self again by the end, she was slowly working her way there, and that’s completely okay, healing takes time. But she knew that she had Christopher’s love and support no matter what.
I liked how we saw so much more of the older generation of the kids in this book, and got to know them better, as it wasn’t set in college like a lot of the previous books in this series were. I am going to be so sad to see these characters go, this integrated family has a special place in my heart, but I am so ready to read Danny and Ryker’s story in Forbidden Heir, the final book in the Heirs series, next!
*I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.*
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️4.5 Sweet and Suspenseful Stars Friends to lovers is always a favourite of mine, and Tempted Heir hit the spot for me, Christopher Hayes (son of Carter and Della), and Dash West (daughter of Jaxson and Leigh) have been the best of friends for years, so much so that they have a marriage pact when Dash reaches the age of 30. It would appear however that Dash can’t wait that long to start a family, and when Christopher gets wind of her plans he decides to up his game. What a truly perfect couple these two make (I think they may be my favourite in the series), but when all their plans get thwarted it’s going to take all their strength and trust to pull through together. A dark read in and amongst all the romance. Dark’s my jam, so I loved it. All the usual suspects from lots of previous stories, but can definitely be read as a standalone if you so desire (as always it’s always more enjoyable to read previous books, and get a further understanding of all concerned),. I received an advanced copy of this book. This is my honest review.
Did I read this book in one day? Yep! Do I wish I would have tried to space it out? Probably but once you dive into the story of Dash and Christopher you can’t help but wonder what’s after every page turn. We’ve read many friends to lovers in fact this series has several but what you get with these two is beyond that. They have an unbreakable bond that no one can come between. Time and time again they will choose each other. They think their love is that of the best friend variety, but they are about to find out It’s more.
Dash has never known a moment where Christopher wasn’t by her side. They are only 2 years apart but that’s enough that Christopher always felt he needed to protect her. Trust me he’s laid out several of her ex-boyfriends for not treating her like the princess she is. They made a pact that if they weren’t married by 30 they would marry each other. Fast forward to them working side by side and living just one floor away from each other. Life is good but Dash wants more. Christopher offers her that more. He has always loved her and now wants to make it reality. Together they navigate going from best friends to lovers but it’s not without working for it and ghosts from the past popping up to stop them.
Just like the last novel this one also has that dark elements. Christopher is Tristan’s brother, but Christopher plays on the good side of the field. I was cheering for them till the end. I was hoping they would overcome. Their joy and their sadness were palpable. I know I say it every review, but I love this series. I like how they evolved from such a simple love to the dark. This series has something for everyone.
Christopher and Dash's story is fantastic, this series is one of my favorites, this a friends to lovers story with more angst and romance you can imagine. The characters are extremely likable, their stories unique and refreshing. You think you got it all figured it out and then a twist and turn you never saw coming that will have you reading until you finish, give this book and the whole series the opportunity to blow your mind. 5-stars!
Tempted Heir is book #7 in "The Heirs" series by Michelle Heard. It's Dash and Christopher's story. It's a best friends to lovers/fake marriage to real marriage 💑. This story had many layers, tons of heat, feels, secrets, friendship, hope, twists and turns, angst, suspense, intrigue , love and HEA. Christopher and Dash have been BFFs since they were toddlers. Christopher is 2 years older than Dash; he's loyal, protective, hardworking and sexy. Compared to Tristan (his brother), Christopher's considered the upstanding brother. Dash is intelligent, beautiful, kind but a horrible past dating experience(s) really has left her feeling unworthy and messed with her self-confidence. Christopher has been in love with her for quite a period of time while Dash is unawares and wishes she had someone like Christopher in her life to love her... something happens that causes Christopher to make his move. The chemistry between them is red-hot!! The emotions are amazing and the feelings run deep! Gods adore Miss Sebastian! What a character. She brings humor, joy and heart to this book. Overall, what an engaging, captivating read.
This is a perfect friends to something-more story; it was suspenseful, a little dark, and with a good helping of sweet romance.
Christopher is the older and more law abiding brother of Tristan from the previous book in the series; he is hardworking, loyal, and of course, drop dead gorgeous. His best friend is Dash. She is beautiful and smart, but past experiences have left her lacking in confidence—she feels unworthy. I love these two together; they have a genuinely open friendship, but there is also an undercurrent between them, suggesting unrequited love. Finding their soul mate should be simple for them, but the past just won’t let go.
This author knows how to please, and I was thrilled to see that, once again, appearances from family and friends are scattered through the pages of this book. In particular, the larger-than-life Miss Sebastian plays an important role, adding both humor and selfless love for her ‘godbaby’ to the story.
I am addicted to this series, and this installment has all the intrigue and twists and turns I have come to expect. At the heart of this 5 star story are two honorable people who find true love in the most unexpected of places, but then have to fight, tooth and nail, to attain the happy ever after they deserve ... I received an early copy of this book from the author
We are nearly at the end of The Heirs series however I continue to be surprised with each story. With Dash and Christopher's story I got lulled into a false sense of security because she gives us a sweet friendship and then boom destroys you. I hope you have been reading them in order as some of the more .... extreme characters we met in the last one are back. I absolutely adored the close bond and friendship they have the loyalty and love is so apparent. Then we get not so much a twist but a fork in the road for this couple and I loved it because it came as a complete surprise but it also hurts. I love how Michelle loves to keep us guessing and even gives us new insights into previous characters. I keeps saying this but seeing how the originals have become parents who have let the children become individuals fills me with happiness.
Emotional, heartwarming, hot. Tempted Heir even had me hopeful for that hea at one point when the doubts kicked in.
It wouldn't be a book by Michelle Heard if it didn't have that extra something that has you eagerly turning the pages wanting to know what happens next, and this book definitely has that.
Tempted Heir can be read as a standalone, I didn't feel like I needed to know the family tree, or who was who in this story, I was just completely swept away with Dash and Christopher's story and their journey. I basically loved every minute of it and couldn't put my kindle down.
Another brilliant addition to the series, completely different from the previous book featuring Christopher's brother Tristan.
Whaaaatttt! This book! Christopher and Dash. Childhood best friends forever. These two, are sooooo good together, as best friends and as lovers. This story drew me in immediately and all the way to the end, I just couldn't stop. This is such a great addition to the series, the author did a really fantastic job on the romance, the suspense, the supporting characters, just all of it. It was really nice to see characters from her past books. Love and definitely recommend it!!!!
Tempted Heir is the seventh book in The Heirs series by author Michelle Heard, it is written in dual POV and tells the story of Dash and Christopher.
Christopher and Dash were best friends since they were babies. At one point, they made a pact, but over the years their feelings for each other changed had grown from friends to lovers without them realizing it.
Dash is over the dating thing and now she wants only on the thing, a baby. Christopher being the best friend jumps in to help and he comes with a plan.
My heart broke for them both, but especially for Dash.
Tempted Heir is another 5 star read in The Heirs series and a must-read! I don't usually enjoy a friends2lovers romance, but this one I did enjoy.
“Unconditionally. Irrevocably. All-consumingly.” That is a perfect description of Dash and Christopher’s relationship. Best friends since forever. Neither have had any luck in relationships. Could their friendship be the reason why? Are they meant to be together?
Dash and Christopher’s story started out making me think this would be a telling of how intense their feelings are for each other. I was thinking for a good part of the book nothing bad would happen. We would just get a peak at their lives together. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
The unthinkable happens. Dash and Christopher have to figure out how to move on from the trauma. If there is any couple that can do that it’s them. Their love is all consuming and eternal. They just have to find their new normal.
We get to see some more of Tristan and Alexei. I’m very much wanting to see more of them in the future...especially Alexei!
Be prepared for your heart to get ripped out in this book and have the Kleenex ready.
Christopher & Dash are meant to be. It honestly felt like they were delaying the inevitable and I’m so glad that they were friends first. That foundation and love for each other blossomed into something that was so much more. It was a poignant moment when they realised how much they were meant to be.
I don’t want to spoil this story but it would be remiss of me if I didn’t mention that there are some very heavy scenes in this story. There were some scenes which made me feel sick, uncomfortable and so damn mad!
In the end though love wins. That is the message that shines through. This is a story that I will not forget anytime soon. It struck a cord in me and it is one of the most emotional stories in this series. This story is a rollercoaster of emotions but I don’t regret reading it for a second. Definitely recommended.
I absolutely loved Dash & Christopher!! Watching these two grow from best friends to lovers made these two my favourite out of all the other couples in this series. The chemistry, love & connection they had really made this book such an awesome read. I loved reading about these two.
My heart broke for Dash & Christopher. I couldn’t imagine going through what Dash goes through. She is was incredibly strong woman. I’ve read a lot of dark books but I cringed & really wanted to flip through those chapters because no one should deal with anything remotely like that in their lifetime.
I did feel the ending was slightly rushed, or maybe I’m just being greedy & wanting more. Haha it’s probably the second one. Another really awesome read in this series that only makes me more excited to see how she tops this couple in the next book.
I wasn't sure what to expect. I was going in blind. Well, not exactly. Author was dropping hints, but honestly for some reasons, I kinda ignored them. My mistake. Another mistake was to get lulled. The story started so nice. Of course I was worried about the whole phase of going from friends to more, but... It was going great. Christopher and Dash becoming something more then best friends... It was heartwarming. And then... I'm not sure how to express myself. It was emotional. I was so angry. Then hurting and feeling like crying. Then feeling stabby... Then like crying and hugging... Then stabby... That was a bit of rollercoaster. Christopher... Strong, supporting, loving... I could go on, so I will just say, every girl needs Christopher in her life.
Tempted Heir is a beautiful story of true love overcoming all obstacles. Christopher and Dash have been best friends for their entire lives, sacrificing relationships for each other. Until Dash decides to make some big decisions that spur Christopher into making a move. After tragedy strikes, they must struggle for a happily ever after. This story was gut-wrenchingly emotional and beautifully written. Tristan is my favorite heir but Christopher is a close second. This series has been amazing and the last few books have been exceptional.
Ugh where do I even start?! I was sooooo ready for Christopher’s book and I had no idea where this one was going to go but I was super excited nonetheless!
Gahhh I was not expecting all the emotions from this one! I literally read this in a few hours because I couldn’t put it down!
Dash went through hell and with Chris’s help they powered through. It definitely pulled some of my emotions with how raw and beautifully it was written.
Michelle’s writing will always be one of my favorites! I absolutely cannot wait for the final book! (But like I feel like the heirs should have books with their kids now 😂 I need more!) lol jk not really ...
Highly recommended this and patiently waiting for Ryker and Danny’s book now!
This book delivered a whammy of a storyline. Took me a bit by surprised since the story was a bit cliche in the beginning. The friends to lovers trope was fine on its own but didn’t grab me.
But now that the author is taking the series darker, the story took a scary turn that changes the dynamic of the book and hooked me.
Dash and Christopher’s story is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. The author handles the trauma and aftermath they experience ver well.
Can’t wait til the next one comes which looks very interesting.
* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
I am speechless. This book broke me. I thought I was going to get a sweet and endearing journey of Christopher and Dash navigating the more than friends waters and all the awkwardness that might entail when he proposes that he be her baby daddy. But nope. My stomach dropped and my heart was gutted. To say that their journey is painful and heartbreaking is an understatement. But they overcome all of it and are stronger and more in love because of it. I don't know how this author does it but each one of these books is so good. I really don't want this series to end.
"He's in every memory I have, and now he'll be in every dream."
Friends become lovers with a twist!
Dash West and Christopher Hayes have been best friends their whole lives. Now at 25 and 27 years old, the two friends work together and live in the same apartment building. Dash has long since given up on dating. The men she dated were no keepers and not one of them were able to accept her close friendship with Christopher. Christopher's been working hard and biding his time. Years ago, the two made a pact they would marry if Dash was still single by the time she turned 30. Dash isn't 30 yet, but she wants kids now. But if Christopher gets his way, the only kids Dash will be having are his. Looks like it's time to expedite that pact...
I love Michelle's romantic writing and a good friends-to-lovers story. Dash and Christopher were so cute. They both harbored secret feelings for one another. That's one of my favorite things! Dash might have thought Christopher was a playboy, but he's been waiting on her for years. I love that Christopher wanted Dash to have the best of everything. He wanted to be the one to fulfill every one of her romantic dreams.
Don't let the sweet story get you feeling too safe! There's always a surprise in store for the Heirs. What Dash had to contend with was heartbreaking. Seeing how scared and uncertain she was was devastating. Of course, Christopher was there for her through it all, as he always has been. I want more Dash and Chris!
We are nearing the end of this lovely series, and I'm so not ready to say goodbye. If you're a romance lover, get started with the Heirs' stories. You won't regret it!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
You will love Christopher and Dash's story. Wanting a child of her own, she visits a sperm bank that is until Christopher finds out. Who better to donate you their sperm than your own sexy as sin best friend. A friends to sperm donor to maybe more type of book that will keep you on your toes. Loved it!
Dash and Christopher were literally made for each other. The emotional anxiety I felt while reading gave me whiplash, but it was worth every second of it. I’m very happy they got there happy ending. This is right there with Tristan and Hana.
