You are in a prison, but you do not see the bars; you hold the keys, and you do not know what they are. You stumble upon a book strange as a portent in the mystical sky. Do not let it pass you by. Take the offering and leaf through its pages. You will learn that you are more than an earthly human. You come from regions aethereal, from a realm of harmony and numinosity that Necessity made you forgo. You dwell in a physical body as a divine seed—part soul, and part spirit. You begin to remember, and the remembrance is the soul. But now you see that your soul is bound. Read further. You are no longer a searcher but a theurgist of the inner mysteries. You harness the power of your numinous self to claim your divine inheritance and defeat the material forces that weigh you down.Make on your journey a companion of the book; you will find the answers where others do not look. Hear it whisper; you will reach the veil of a reality concealed to those who dwell on distractions. Cross the threshold; you will know the depths and enter the fellowship of the heirs.Step now into the mysteriosophy of the savior within and let yourself out of your prison.
I have the elation of a surrender, of a passion more desirable than choice. Seek me in my book, and you may find me. My business is storytelling because there are things deep and true that only stories can reveal. I seek to reach at once the daydreaming mind and the reflective one—the mind that wishes to escape, and the one that finds comfort in reflection. My mediums are tales, allegories, parables, vignettes, aphorisms; my inspiration is a flow of mystical ideas that may be intriguing, illuminating, speculative, transgressive, but largely original and always couched in literary language or poetic prose. I hope my writings linger with you long after the last page to become reliable companions on your personal journey of discovery, gnosis, and liberation.
A purple prose monstrosity of gnostic incompetence. Three stars as opposed to two due to the fact that it possesses an original structure (although, this is probably because the enigmatic author wanted to write FOUR books but couldn't finish ONE of them and thus packaged them together in a pseudo-spiritual smorgasbord).
Anyone who finds this 'profound' or 'earth shattering' is an imbecile of high caliber. The thesis is thus--HELL IS OTHER PEOPLE, ONLY BEING AN INDIVIDUAL *LIKE ME* WILL SAVE YOU.
The first section (which attempted to portray three inter-mixed tales from different third-person temporal perspectives) was interesting, the exegesis of select verses from the "Gospel" of Thomas was intriguing, the "personal memoirs" of some nobody cult member was a bore (and also completely dismantles the entire argument of the book) and the final confessional section reads like an 8th grade girls poetry.
