My visit to Preston was supposed to last three days - go to my father's funeral, look devastated, and fly back home without a backward glance.
I would've nailed it, but the two-headed dragon, aka my mother, had different plans. Now I'm stuck in a city run by satan's spawns while my dear mother plots to steal the throne. That's the shitshow I have no intentions of getting a ticket to, so I need a getaway plan and quick.
When Quentin Valentino, the son of my mother's nemesis, walks into my life like a gift from God, I don't think twice. Everyone has dirt under their carpet, and all I need is a little dust of the Valentino's, and this girl books her ticket far, far away.
Only if this gorgeous package wrapped in an Armani suit would've come from Heaven...
No matter what Blue Öyster Cult says - you damn should be scared of the Reaper. It will not only take your soul, but it will also try to steal your heart while sharpening the scythe. ________________________ BMBYG is for a mature audience only and contains explicit scenes. Also, some parts might be triggering(dub-con, non-con, drug use, abuse, etc.),so proceed with caution. This is the first book in the PANDEMONIUM series, BUT it doesn't end on a cliffhanger and can be read as a standalone. The series will continue with other characters.
I'm an author of dark romance. Just so you know, I'm way more balanced than my characters - they are the outcome of my madness. I run on coffee and wine and suck at saying something about myself - blame on my zodiac sign. Yeah, I'm an Aquarius. So, hi.
Damn, just damn… Bury Me Before You Go is a CRAZY book, but one that I absolutely loved. This book is dark, menacing, steamy, and will definitely keep you on your toes.
BMBYG (Pandemonium 1) is technically a separate series from Beasts of Prey, but characters carry over from that series to this one. While it’s not absolutely necessary to read BoP, it’s definitely helpful.
“I’m your Grim reaper, and you’re my Eternal Lover.”
Quinton and Cierra are incredibly toxic for one another; but I couldn’t get enough of them. Their story was so intriguing. Cierra’s been through absolutely horrific things and so has Quinton. His life is full of lies, deceit, secret societies, and manipulation.
The twists and turns in this book were out of this world – some things I was able to easily figure out, others I was completely shocked by! There’s a huge twist that happens and I’m still reeling from it because WOW, it was definitely a game changer.
This book is rather steamy and I was all for it! There was a dark, twisted scene that takes place at a carnival, in one of those mirror maze things, and oh man… it was the best. I wish it had dragged out even further.
Bury Me Before You Go was raw and heartbreaking, but such a wonderful read. This is a must read, but I’d HIGHLY recommend reading the Beasts of Prey books first! Can’t wait until the next book!
This book was recommended in a group and I am beginning to wonder how two people with such vastly different levels of writing expectations could possibly be in the same “reading circle”. This book was absolute trash. Are the characters schizophrenic? Because they’re all suffering from multiple personalities and frankly all the other symptoms. One paragraph they have the mentality of a preteen confused about life, the next they’re mature and serious for .2 seconds and almost hitting the mark of sexy bad boy. Almost.
I assume Quentin is supposed to be some bad ass dark character but he’s weak asf, can’t survive with out his meds, has zero backbone and needs his buddies to peer pressure him into doing anything. Because his girlfriend left him? Bogus. And Cierra, with a C, eye roll. Grow the fuck up. Her relationship and conversations with her bestie read like those of a fucking 12 year old.
There is so much missing from the plot. Like her being on her period was written like some big deal, but also like we already knew that, which how the hell would we, the readers know that? That’s the job of the writer..I understand this story(not storey) is supposed to be dark and mysterious but it’s not even on the same planet to achieve any of that. Also the word use, and grammar needs some work.
I was told to make sure I at least get to the mirror scene. Sure it’s sex. He takes out her tampon and proceeds to not only go down on her for like two seconds but fuck her. Cool. If the scene were written with any kind of talent it might’ve kept me engaged and interested. But it’s pretty bad and really says A LOT when >I< skim through a sex scene because frankly it’s written so poorly.
Gah!! I have been waiting for this one!! Bury Me Before You Go is set in the same world as Beasts of Prey. It's not necessary to read Beasts, but there is a little bit of character crossover and I highly recommend the series (start with Antidote, Cobra and Tiger are 😍😍)
BMBYG is book one in the PANDEMONIUM series. This world is insane. There is so much going on and I was on the edge of my seat while reading. I love, Love, LOVE Cierra and Quinton!! They are so perfect for each other, even if they had ulterior motives in the beginning.
This book is full of mystery, secrets, lies, manipulation and a bit of spice. One of my favorite parts of this book was their first date. It was exciting, thrilling, and 🥵🥵🥵 Ah! The twists and turns in this one are amazing! So many things I never saw coming.
LC! You know how to bring characters and worlds to life! BMBYG was absolutely amazing. I love that we are getting to see another part of this world. I absolutely loved the ending! No cliffy, as it's a standalone. I absolutely cannot wait for more in Beasts of Prey and PANDEMONIUM.
Ever since i stumbled across Ms.Lehesaho's work at the beginning of this year I've wanted to pick up her books so badly! From the moment that she announced this one It caught my eye right away, especially with the teasers and I knew i had to read it first! I really enjoyed this story so very much!
Cierra and Quentin's journey pulled me in so quickly! I really liked how these two were brought together and the way their story kept me on my toes. It wasn't easy and I loved how i felt so much with both characters as well!
With Bury Me Before You Go, Ms.Lehesaho has created such a great and dark read that'll hook you! Her writing got my attention and didn't let go! I can't wait to read more from her especially the next Pandemonium book!
*I volunteered to read and review a copy of this book from the author*
Holy crap everyone!!! I've been biting my tongue on this one. Just dying to tell you all... @authorlclehesaho has got a new one coming out and it so f'n good!!
What an incredible read. The chemistry between Cierra and Quentin is unbelievably steamy. It's exactly what we read romances for. The together through thick and thin that makes us believe in love. But all is not what it seems, and the twists and turns that their story has let me spinning. Mystery, suspense, with a little 'who done it' makes this a story that's hard to put down. It's got a lot of darkness to it so don't go in looking for innocent, clean love. But the darkness only intensifies the light. Like a star in the night's sky, this story is just as special.
This baby was long but sooo good! This author is new to me but I gotta say I really liked their writing. It flowed nicely and was easy to read. I'm definitely going to be reading other books from this author and fingers crossed we get books for the other reapers.
Bury Me Before You Go is the first installment of the new Pandemonium series by LC Lehesaho. This series takes place in the same world as her Beast of Prey series and has some slight crossover with characters, but brings a whole new element to the city of Preston.
Cierra's father has just passed away while in the midst of a mayorial run, and she is reluctantly in town for the funeral. Before she is able to escape across the country to her current home in Atlanta, her mother announces she is taking over running for mayor of Preston and Cierra is obligated to stay in town for awhile to play the doting, grieving daughter. Cierra's childhood was very tumultuous, and she has found it easier to not let too many people into her inner circle outside of a select handful. That all starts to change when she meets the mysterious and mercurial Quentin.
Quentin is a depressed, anxious, and insecure young man, and as we soon find, a reluctant part of the Order of the Six, a centuries old group of six very powerful families. Quentin has had his own share of childhood trauma, and he's just trying to make it from one day to the next without getting offed. Quentin is under a lot of pressure from his father to get himself together mentally to participate in yearly activities for the Order, and it is proving rather difficult for Quentin when he arrives home after the first part of the festivities to find his fiancée missing. He has a month to find himself another girl for the next ceremony. Enter Cierra.
Cierra and Quentin's relationship begins with a lot of secret agendas on both sides, but I enjoyed how LC was able to naturally grow their interest in one another within a short timeline. There was a really good twist in the story that I was honestly surprised about, so that was great to see develop. I'm not a fan of twists that are easily figured out. The character development overall was organic, and I really enjoyed seeing Quentin and Tiger interacting. I hope we get to see more crossover with these two series as things go along.
I received a free copy of this book and am leaving an honest review voluntarily.
Character development: 5/5 Dark elements: 5/5 Steamy scenes: 5/5 Overall storyline: 5/5 Triggers: Yes, indeed - murder, abuse (including of minors), noncon, blood play, mental health struggles
The Pandemonium Starts Here 5 stars “I’m your Grim Reaper and you’re my Eternal Lover.”
BMBYG is a dark and heavy book set in the same world as the Beasts of Prey and gives you all the angsty feels. Yes, this series is separate from the BoP series, but small story lines carry over as well with certain characters, so there are potential spoilers, but either way, whether you read the first series or not, you are bound for a ride of wild emotions.
This book follows Quentin and Cierra, whose journey will leave you at the edge of your seat. Brought together for selfish reasons, they quickly realize that the secrets they’re hiding are making things worse off. Quentin is a reaper for the secret society he was born in, and Cierra is a lover that stumbled into Q’s path, who found her just when she needed him. These two are hot and bloody and they hurt and they find comfort in each other when everyone around them ruins them.
BMBYG is full of twists and turns and plot twists that are mind blowing. When reading this for the first time, I remember hoping for the storyline to play out a certain way and when I finally saw it all unfold it made it all the better. It’ll leave your jaw dropping.
I love the dark moments and the intimate moments, the heavy and heartbreaking moments that leave you feeling broken. There’s so much tension and mystery surrounding this whole story, so there's the constant feeling of suspense that made me live for this book. If anyone deserved an HEA, it’s these two. This book has some heavy triggers, but there’s redemption around it that makes it so good. Lovers of the Beasts of Prey series will love this book, and dark romance lovers will love this book as well. LC Leheshao, girl, give me more.
I'm currently about 15 % of the way through this book and I think I'm gonna have to dnf it for a few reasons.
The main reason is that the wording throughout the book is very often times really bizarre and idk if it's because the author isn't a native English speaker or if the book was just translated. Either way, someone who speaks English really needed to proofread/edit this. Like honestly, the strange wording was so incessant it was becoming very distracting and I found myself becoming very frustrated with the weird wording. I'm wondering if the author is Russian since there was Russian in the beginning and also she doesn't seem to understand how to use articles - something the Russian language does not have.
I don't like the heroine or the hero for that matter. They're both rather boring.
There's some inconsistencies already with the story, like how she's acting like this city is so new and she's discovering it even though its literally her home town.
Also, she expresses that she feels bad using Vincent for information and comments that he seems like a nice guy and he never did anything to her to deserve this when literally her first impression of him is that he's a bad boy and he already stood her up for their first date... so... I'm confused.
Overall, the tone is rather juvenile to me. Not the story itself necessarily, but just the way it's written.
Am I missing something? Should I keep reading? Does it get better?
the wording was off in this book idk if the author did that on purpose or if it was an accident but anyways this book was okay but i need a cruz book cause i got vibes from lennox and cruz😁
“We’re toxic and unhealthy, but the way our poisons merge into one can’t be denied. Between all the lies, deceits, murders, and vile cults, our tarnished souls found their match in this depraved world we live in.”
DAMN!!! What a crazy, insanely emotional, and freaking suspenseful, rollercoaster ride that was! It’s dark, depraved, gritty, ominous, and damn sexy. This story had me on the edge of my seat with utter anticipation of how it would all end. And let me tell you my mind is freaking blown. I had a feeling it was moving towards an explosive conclusion, but damn I was not ready for that!
Quinton and Cierra were toxic for each other, but it just made them even more perfect to be together. They have this dark and stormy connection that could not be denied and the sexual tension oozed off the pages and had me squirming in my seat. But both Quinton and Cierra have horrific and damaging pasts with their demons constantly crawly towards the surface, which makes it hard for them to trust and let their guards down. And when the revelations of their pasts are revealed to each other, they connect on another level that makes their bond unbreakable and stronger than ever. These two had me in tears, but they also had me laughing at their witty banter and sarcasm. They kept me completely entertained and I never wanted their story to end.
The intense suspense throughout had me biting my nails like crazy and my heart beating out of my chest. The unknown Pandemonium event was so mysterious that it was like a bomb being dropped on us when we do actually find out what was going to happen. It’s one MF crazy ride!
Brilliantly written story that pulls the reader in and keeps us utterly captivated and consuming the story as quickly as possible. With damaged and complex characters that come to life on the pages and with a storyline that is filled with angst, drama, emotional turmoil, mystery, bloody violence, murder and mayhem and a whole of lot of very spicy moments. I dare you to try to put this one down before finishing – impossible!
I loved every second of it and can’t wait for more!
Darkness surrounds the town of Preston where a select few run this town and are unstoppable with blood stained hands, the goal is to get out and away but everyday Cierra finds it harder and harder to do. When Cierra’s father passes away she is blackmailed by her own mother to stay in Preston and play the part of doting daughter so her mother can win the mayor election. WIth no other choice but to stay Cierra to find more independence getting a job while plotting her escape. The day her life changes forever is the day she meets Quentin Valentino. Quentin is cocky, aloof, has secrets for days so when he sets his sights on Cierra, he knows his life will change as well. Cierra knows that dating Quentin isn’t the smartest idea but their attraction is undeniable even with all the secrets surrounding him. He can be twisted and off at times yet he can be the sweetest thing to walk this Earth so Cierra finds herself falling deeper for this guy and down the rabbit hole. When secrets start to come out and things are slowly revealed about Q, his friends, their secret society Cierra doesn’t know what to do run away or run to the arms of the one she loves. Quentin and Cierra’s love is at times sadistic and twisted, yet then it turns around to be this beautiful thing. There are so many twists, turns, darkness, and cruelty that you may not see the light at the end of the tunnel, but trust me the darkness brings out the best in a few. This is my first read by this author and I now can say I am a huge fan. This book has triggers for some and is dark, but I LOVED it. The characters, twists, shocking moments, love, revenge all left me breathless and I devoured it all at once. Beautifully Dark and Twisted!!!!
Oh god, I am pleasantly surprised by this book. Only in the good way! It is dark but the darkness was balances out so well I think its the first time where I did feel the story is dark but also felt like it was the right amount of dark where my mind was not going crazy questioning what I am reading. It was intriguing, when I started the book I felt like I knew where the story would go or how the characters will be like but the author took us on a spin. I love the way the author created Cierra because she was one hell of a tough girl. The way she handles things when it came to Quentin was fun to read. Over everything else she always chose he feelings and I like that amount of craziness where you are questioning every single thing but still cannot help but choose your feelings. It's not because Cierra herself is crazy its just that she has seen true evil and with Quentin she wants to trust what they have. I like how their relationship was navigated through the secrets and lies and spooky stuff. Quentin was also a good character, yes he is bad in the sense of course his morals are skewed but his darkness was not something I needed to dislike him for which I appreciated. Because usually in dark romances boys are assholes and in the end we just need to be okay with their behaviour but here it was not the case. Inspite of the things we learn Quentin does not seem too bad I appreciate it. There are other characters you are intrigued about when you are reading hopefully we will get a book for them because yes I will read that. In all loved this story, it was a crazy ride with a satisfying ending!
I went into this book completely blind and I'm so glad I did! I had no expectations but this blew me away!
Quentin and Cierra don't start in the best of ways, they're both keeping secrets and have their own agendas, but it soon turns from nothing into much more!
So many times I wanted to throw my kindle across the room during this book, or just bang their heads together. It takes a while but once Q & C realise they're better off fighting for each other rather than against each other they blossom!
Now this isn't a lovely dovey romance by any means - it's dark and it's gritty and there were times I had to wonder if their toxic relationship was just too much and they'd be better off alone. BUT LC has written this to perfection, and you really find yourself rooting for this couple.
I loved the other guys too, Knox and Cruz, and I can't wait for their stories! I low-key hope Nixie might end up with one because she was the best friend any girl needs! And I want to see more of her 🥰
And you can quote me on that! The Beasts of Prey series was INCREDIBLE, and while it's not required to read it first I do recommend it because the characters will hit different. In a GREAT way.
This one was a bit of an emotional assault, heart wrenching at times. I always expect that with these books so I was prepared. Mind your triggers because this won't be for everyone. Don't jump in assuming you're brave enough. It. Hits. HARD.
L.C. is an author that I will SLAM BUY from every single time. It doesn't matter if she writes a book on the origin of the number 34's operation in an elephants digestive tract, I'm IN.
I loved Q and Princess, they were everything I wanted and more!
When I say holy cow I mean holy COW!!! I can't even with this book itsbso beautifully fucked up. Cierra is one the strongest female characters I've ever read. Quinton is just pure dark man filled with dark love. The chemistry with these two are off the charts. Also who doesn't love a little cult acting. I can't wait to see more of this clan, and see how it intertwines with The Hayes family from "antidote".
First, Tiger will always be my number 1, but Quentin is an extremely close second! Cierra is so awesome, not sure how that happened with her parents?! Love how the story twists & turns & makes you question everything you believed. Great characters, can’t wait to read the next!!
I am so glad someone recommended L.C. Lehesaho book Antidote to me a couple months ago. I have sense read all her books. This one doesn't let you down it is an emotional roller coaster and I would willingly read it again just for all the feels it puts you through. I can't wait for the next release.
This book was everything! Quentin and Cierra are damaged with sharp jagged edges and yet fit so perfectly together. Their story is intense, dark, twisted with a capital T… but the raw emotions, spice, and sweet moments make all the pain worth it. ❤️🩹
There are more than a couple Jaw-dropping moments in this book. Believe me when I say you’ll be on the edge of your seat and swearing at the characters the whole way through.
Mind your triggers! There are some dark dark themes in here, and get a fan because your kindle will start smoking with all the hot as hell steam in this book 🥵. Easy five-star, Q and princess deserve all the stars.
I can definitely see the intended story, but the execution leaves something to be desired. There are missing and misused words throughout. There is a great deal of editing and proofreading work to be done.
Quentin Alexander Valentino, son of the Order of Six member and one of the Grim Reapers. He must find a lover to bring to Pandemonium, the annual ritual of the Order. Cierra Berkley Cera, just came to town for her fathers funeral…or so she tought.
Quentin’s father hounds him about his duties and Pandemonium. Cierra’s mother forces her to quit school to help her run for Mayor. Both are dealing with forced loyalties and expectations of overreaching and unsympathetic parents.
Cierra wants to escape from under her mother’s thumb so she finds a job at a local coffee shop. Enter Quentin and friends, Lennox and Cruz. Cierra’s fate, unbeknownst to her, is sealed.
Quentin and Cierra spark to life almost instantly. There is enigmatic chemistry between the two and they get hot and heavy fast. Quentin is definitely all alpha male and his burning intensity is hard to resist.
There is light and darkness all around this story and it draws you in like a moth to a flame. The sex is nothing short of a fiery inferno and Quentin definitely knows what he’s doing. There is a scene with a spreader bar that will have you squirming in delight! I thoroughly enjoyed these two and the charisma they both emanate. Together they are unstoppable.
There are some tense situations for them, both separately and together. Both have traumas in their past they are trying to survive. I think LC does a great job with these situations and I found myself further drawn to each character for different reasons.
Lennox and Cruz are great supporting characters. Lennox being sexy and lighthearted, Cruz more serious and sinister. All I can say is sign me up!
Quentin and Cierra are well thought out and I found myself easily moving through this story. This is book 1 and I can’t wait to see where LC takes us next!
So Bury Me Before You Go was the first book I have read by this author. I went in with zero expectations, and really love her covers for her books. BMBYG follows Cierra - new to town, after her father's funeral her mom forces her to move in. But the town isn't what it seems. All Cierra wants to do is get away from the town which she is forced to call home. When Quentin walks into her life, she realizes he just may be the ticket out of the place. Quentin is the son of Ceirra's mom's nemesis & may just have enough dirt that she could use to spring for freedom. But what Cierra didn't expect was the complicated feelings that came along with it. There is no way she is falling for the enemy right? So this is the first book I read by LC. I loved the cover, and the idea behind it. But... I didn't love the book. It was an ok read, and great to pass the time but sometimes I felt a little lost. Sometimes the story didn't seem to flow well, and sometimes the characters had too many analogies. I was easily distracted by other things instead of fully immersed into the story. That being said, it wasn't bad. I did like the idea of it. I liked Quentin enough- I felt like maybe he wasn't as mature as he should have been given the situation but he was also still fairly young (23). I am intrigued by some of the side characters though (Cruz. If you don't know, I always like the darkest, most messed up or broken guy and Cruz definitely piqued my interest), and may possibly pick up their books in the future. I did want to see where the story ended up. And although it wasn't my favorite read I did enjoy it. It does have some dark themes & trigger Warnings (sexual abuse, dub-con/non-con, drug use, violence/death) so it's worth knowing before diving in. 3.5 ⭐ out of 5⭐.
Another amazing story from LC!! Cera & Quentin are so toxic for each other but I couldn’t get enough! They were so drawn to each other and even when they found out who the other was it didn’t stop them. Quentin’s got a dark side. He’s part of the Order of the six. A grim reaper. But truthfully the safest place Cera will be is by his side. His protective side is everything! He’s the grim reaper but he still has his heart and will do anything for his lover. Cera had a bad childhood and her life takes another turn when she becomes a pawn for her family. Q was exactly what she needed at the time she needed someone most. I love them together. This author has a way of hooking me in from the very start. Pandemonium #1 has loads of twists and turns that will keep you guessing. The story was so well plotted out and I loved the appearance of characters from BOP. Although this book is a standalone it would benefit you having read the BOP. The only flaw in this book is that there are some spelling word / letter mistakes. Though I feel it could be a translation issue as it’s more when it’s a phrase or saying e.g. written is ‘If I’d be you’ when it should be ‘If I were you’ Though the story had me so hooked I could overlook these.
Besties I finished my ARC of Bury Me Before You Go by @authorlclehesaho
Let me start with saying wow I absolutely loved this book. I fell in love and was hooked within the first few pages.
Please check TW
Cierra visit was supposed to last for 3 days, I was supposed to go to my father's funeral look upset then go back home. Once I left I was not going to look back. My mother had different plans for me. I am not stuck in this city while my mom plans to take over the city. I need to make an escape quick before I have no way out.
In comes Quentin who is the son of my mother's enemy. He comes walking into my life like he thinks he's a gift to me from God. Everyone has secrets so all I need to do is get a ticket and get out of here. No matter what you need to be scared of the Reaper. He will not only try and take your soul but he plans on stealing your heart as well.
L.C Lehesaho has written a dark, toxic and addictive read that made me want to smash my phone and bash Quintons and Cierra's heads together.
I love how broken both Quinton and Cierra are and how they are so incredibly toxic for each other and fight against each other with their own hidden agendas. Their journey is dark, brutal and addictive. They have both experienced trauma and are living with the effects.
This book is full of twists and whilst some I was expecting some flew out of nowhere and knocked me for six. This keeps me riveted and one has still left me reeling. I adored the level of steam in this book and felt it really added to the character growth and development of their relationship.
This book is an email ally raw read that will keep you turning the pages till the last.
holy fucking shit….what did I just read. I was reluctant to read this because the summary was pretty boring and the beginning of the book was pretty boring too. I couldn’t stand the nice guy act Quentin was putting up. But anyway I did like this book a lot. I’m not sure why but the part where they discovered that Q might have been the one to kill Mabel made me sick to my stomach- like holy shit that’s A LOT. That being said I kinda do wish he was the one who killed her, i don’t even know why I just think it would’ve been kinda sort of interesting???? this is such a bad review/commentary, i cant get my thoughts together for the life of me and everything i said sounds like gibberish
This review took me a while to write. This book is perfection!!! The story line, angst, mystery, chemistry and every single twist and turn will have you questioning your sanity! I really thought Q was losing his mind. His boys have his back, and his relationship with Cierra is one for the books! It is raw, full of issues but so freaking real! Hands down one of my favorites! I can’t wait to get my hands on the next one!!! Pandemonium is eye opening and so freaking messed up!
I think I’m spoiled by other books. This book did not hit the mark for me. It actually took me a long time to finding and that was with me slipping past things and speed reading. It just didn’t grab my attention. I felt like Quiten was too much if a scaredy-cat and weak minded. He was contradicting himself with it all. When I read about crazy, scary assassins, I don’t want to read about how they are so weak minded that they want to kill themselves. I like dark twisted books and this did not hit the mark for me. The sex was hot, though. So so last that was that.
