I really enjoyed reading this story. It kept my interest. I was never bored. I read it in one sitting without taking a break.

I love jealous, possessive, and protective alpha heroes and Enzo is. Enzo is also faithful to the heroine, Rose. Heroes being faithful to their heroines and vice versa is always something I want in romance books. A lot of times I will stop reading a book if they are not faithful to each other but that was not an issue in this case. There was no sex with OP after meeting and no sex with OW in this book.

The story also had plenty of hot sexy times, again something that I want romance books to contain. Clean romances or romances with tepid sex scenes are not my jam.

The story was mainly from Enzo's point of view with a few chapters from Dillion's. I preferred it that way for several reasons that I am not going to list as one of those reasons would be a spoiler.

There were a few things that I didn't like. For one, I didn't like the ending because it was not made clear that it was an HFN ending for the hero and the heroine. The other reason is minor. Usually, I don't care too much about the hero and the heroines' names. However, when I read that the hero's name was Enzo I kept imagining an overweight, middle-aged mobster. The reason is that a lot of other mafia books that I have read that is the physical description of characters with the names of Enzo.

I want the hero and the heroine to get their HEA but don't want them to be the heroine and the heroine in the next book. I believe their story was almost complete in this book and that I would become bored if it continued in the next book. They could be secondary characters and it just made clear that they are happy together. Regardless of if they are the main characters or not I will be reading the next book in the series because the I enjoyed reading this one.

Boom! What a book!

This is the story of Enzo, the kingpin of New Orleans and Rose, the woman his enemy sends to seduced him, to find his weakness so he can take Enzo's place.

Well, well! This was very steamy, with an alpha male and an equally active woman, a beautiful mix of delicacy and strength. Enzo himself tries to keep his strong shell but emotions begin to crack it. They are both great characters. I just wished there was something from Rose's perspective, I understand why it needed to be written from Enzo and Dillon's view point, but maybe it would have added even more mystery. Or I'm just loving too much dual pov.

This is dark, but the kind of dark that comes with the life of being the kingpin, it's filled with hot moments, some cute ones and a lot of mystery. By the middle of the book I already knew where it was going but the end is spectacular nevertheless. This book is a celebration of feminine power in all it's forms. Can't wait to read the last book in the duet!

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Yeah not even suspended believe could help me with this one. The hero come of as a dumb little boy parading as a mafia boss and the heroine was this bland character. But all of a sudden I’m supposed to believe she’s badass person that worked behind the scenes to overthrow the mafia boss and take over? Yeah, pass 🙄

DNF @ 14%.

The h is a stripper. Yep, a stripper but it is not her fault, she has no other choice. On the other hand, I do have a choice and I will no longer give this played out scenario my attention.

So much for best laid plans...
Phew, hold on tight for this remarkable story which will pull you in & then spit you out. I really couldn't have imagined the ending but don't be heartbroken, the story continues in Queen of Deceit...riveting!

DNF 50%, boring. Written from the hero’s POV, without any POV from the heroine. This book might’ve worked if I had seen what the heroine was thinking, but she came across as a flat, dull character.

With no character development, I felt disconnected from the MCs.
Story was as interesting as watching 2 robots in a relationship, and the love scenes are frequent, steamy but short.

I wouldn’t trust all the 5 star arc reviews if I were you, I fell for the hype train.

Short book.

The beginning that hooks you and an the ending that will leave you speechless.....

by and1515

Enzo wasn't amused; not in the least he
and all because some scrapy Irish mutt was trying to worm his way into his domain.
Nope he wasn't about to let that happen;
still he needed to tread carefully.
Because the wrong move could create and even bigger headache then the one he currently had on his hands.
And yes Enzo had every intentions of showing up he needed to appear flawless without a single weakness.
Still there was a moment that totally captavated his attention; she wasn't something he'd never expect to see in a place like this so unlike all the others.
Needless to say one should be weary of suprised gifts on one's doorsteps; I'm not a fool even if that idiot thinks I am.
But to be sure I'm gonna make doubly sure she knows the score because I'm not going to have someone singing my secrets.
To bad some people enjoyed preaching to me about my business and at the moment I seriously wish that this foolish yappy pup wasn't related to me or I'd already would have made my point perfectly clear.
Unfortunately they still didn't know enough about the upstart mongrel; and Enzo feared he knew more about him.
Even the best plans can go astray; forcing you to quickly create new ones in an instant
and yeah they'd hoped for more.
But still something was better then nothing and regrettably the schmuck the nabbed was about to learn a really hard lesson.
And even though he should haved kept himself in better check and not allow such temptations to move him; he was hooked and he wasn't about to let go of something he considered his.
However Enzo never thought he'd find himself in such an uncomfortable position it was totally undignified for a man like him.

The addition starts with the book covers….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with!

Bad boy….check
Bod boy’s crazy brother/friend…check
Bad boy’s Kryptonie…check ….check and check
By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how much you hate and wish for harm on others or just a wake up call, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter! You will start it and You will not put it down until the last page has been turned.

Can’t say I didn’t warn you.

LET ME START OF WITH I REALLY …REALLY HATE CLIFTHANGERS now that I got that out of the way! We have Enzo is all alpha, demanding, somewhat controlling, protective, and loves hard when the right queen comes along and true to form this is no different. Enzo tells himself he will only let her in his bed, but his heart has other plans. Rose is sweet on the outside but can be anything else other than sweet she is a spy with a body to die for her one objective is to seduce, find all his weakness but what she didn’t count on or couldn’t plan for the intense attraction and chemistry pull making her job that much harder. Will she get what she came for? What will happen when Enzo discovers her true meaning of why she is there? Will they end up working together and do they get a HEA? I did say starting out I Really Hate Cliffhangers because now I have to wait, and I do not like waiting to find out what happens next so there needs to be a rush put on book two

Enjoyable but flawed!
I enjoyed this but found the King rather unlikely in that he'd break so many of his own rules for Rose. He doesn't even do a basic background check, let alone an in depth one, despite knowing she comes from Callaghan!!!
Her clothes aren't scanned nor is her necklace checked whhich is equally unlikely. He doesn't even stop to consider she might have a bug in something. And he leaves her phone where she can get to it !!!
All up I'm really surprised that he even got to be King if he so easily forgets to protect himself and his family.

King of Bourbon Street is book one in the Mafia Throne Duet and features Enzo Marcone, the don of the powerful Marcone Mafia in New Orleans, who has fallen for Rose, a woman he met at a club owned by a competitor who has her own secrets. The book has well developed primary characters as well as great secondary characters. This fast paced book has an intense dark storyline with violence, drama, suspense, and sizzling passion. The book ends in a cliffhanger and the story will be continued in the the next book titled Queen of Deceit.

Enzos the king of New Orleans, rules with an iron fist but keeps his mind on the task of ruling his men, when his empire is threatened its an Irish beauty in Rose that threatens the balance, a spy in his midst but he won't let her in more than just his bed no matter how much she tries. This is well written with an engaging story line and well developed characters, it would have been nice to have more of Rose's point of view to the story between Enzo and Dillion but the overall dialogue worked well.

Wow. This book was phenomenal. I am a little speechless after reading this and I am definitely dying to get my hands on the next book. The twists and turns in this book you never see coming. Rose and Enzo have a fiery chemistry that makes you really root for them. This book had my emotions all over the place. I laughed at some parts and other parts were sad. The ending smacked me in the face and had my jaw dropping. Aidee James nailed it out of the park with this book. I highly suggest everyone read this book. You wont be disappointed.

This is book 1 in Jaimes' new duet Mafia's Throne. Captivated from page 1 - I could not put this book down and the end...OMG - I can't wait for the second in this duet. This is the story of Rose and Enzo. Enzo is the king of New Orleans and when your the one at the top - you have people who will do anything to take you down. Rose is a spy for just such a person who has come in to seduce and find Enzo's weakness... Incredible chemistry and a cliffhanger ending that will have you clinging!

This is a new to me author and this book was a brilliant way to notice her work. I loved the whole dynamic of the story as it played out. Dillon was after a power play, trying to take over new Orleans but Enzo wasn't letting an unknown come into his territory and take what he wanted. The love affair with rose plays out and you prey Enzo will chose her over his business but when the ever evasive dillon finally shows his hand, its not the twist you see coming. Excellent cliff hanger. I cant wait for book 2.

He is Enzo Marcone: possessive alpha, controlling, protective, the King of Bourbon St. There are always people who want to steal the throne. Enemies are everywhere, who can you trust?
Rose: beautiful with a body for seduction. Her plan was to find find all his weaknesses but what she didn’t plan was the intense chemistry that sparked between them. Will
She be his Delilah?
From the violent beginning to the cliffhanger ending, there is plenty to keep you engaged. Lies, spies, secrets, danger and steam.

Loved the book it was great, the story was written well and the characters were interesting. This was a fabulous book with Enzo and Rose. Enzo has been trained to take over the throne when the time was right, so now he is the Don of New Orleans. Someone wants to take over the throne so they sent Rose to seduce and distract.I could not put this book down so much action, drama, deceit, lust, hot and steamy, and lots more emotions as you read through the book.

Dillon Callaghan threatens the reign of Enzo Marcone by using Rose, a woman who from the first moment admits that her role with Marcone is to spy, but she will not be able to communicate with them if he doesn’t let her go.
Enzo and Rose begin a 🔥🔥 relationship that, unexpectedly, will put Enzo ina tough place:
Would he be willing to give up his throne in exchange for Rose and her well-being?
Although some things were very clear from the beginning, the truth is that it has been a very entertaining read.
Now the second book to see how this story ends.

An intriguing storyline that was fun to read. I loved the subtle nuances that the author built into the story. I thought the premise was promising and chose to read this book based on it. It was so well written with drama, mystery, great characters, and tangible chemistry. I totally enjoyed reading this book.

A king of the underworld must always be on the lookout for danger. And when his arch-rival sends a beautiful woman to spy on him, he has to be extra vigilant. Especially when he wants to keep her, despite all the alarm bells that go off.

You feel the build-up of the story towards an end. But I really didn't see the surprise at the end.
Nicely conceived and written

A twist of fate!!!

As I was reading this story I never got the true sense of the power of a mafia presence. From the time Rose showed up I knew she was up to no good..and she was honest to.a.point. Enzo.didn't seem to have the backbone to be a Dom. I didn't stop reading I continued to the end and was surprised who the other woman was. Don't let me sway you, this is a short book so give it try. I would love to hear another take on it.

This book is gripping, thrilling and also very hot, phew!! It's got a lot of twists and turns, not to mention mysteries that aren't revealed until later in the book. It does end on a bit of a cliff hanger, can't wait for Book 2 in this duet.

A new Author to me and I must say brilliant. Such twists, with danger around every corner this is a whole new game. Enzo rules New Orleans but it seems a new kid on the block Dillon Callaghan wants the kings crown. Fresh, unbelievable, and so so good, definitely want more. I voluntarily reviewed this book

It was so good..... I had to read it twice.

Wow, this is my first read by Aidėe Jaimes and it was so well written, the main characters had me absolutely captured in their love story. The last few chapters had me so astounded that I had to go read it again, to see all the clues I missed. Highly recommend this book, well be reading her again.

Great plot twist

The story felt a little too long. I wanted to hurry and get to the point of the story. If this was a movie I would have fast forward to the end. I think the plot twist was a good one. In hindsight, the interactions between the characters make more sense. I'll read the next book in the series, but if it drags on, I'll move on to a different series.

If I am honest I wasn't buying their 'steamy' scenes, nor the whole 'girl in trouble' act aka 'she needs saving'. 'Steamy' scenes were described from a man's point of view and after reading so many 'steamy' books I couldn't connect with this book at all. Never the less the ending for this book was such a brilliant twist so I decided to go 3 stars 🌟
