Everyone in the Heights knows fairy tales are fake.
There’s no happily-ever-after, there’s just making the best of what you got. But what if that isn’t the case for me?
First, my brother returns. Sure, he’s come back changed. A ferocious leader, a hardened gangster, but most importantly, an overbearing, overprotective, ass. But hey, he’s alive.
Something I couldn’t be more thrilled about until he ruins my love life, practically repelling men away with his signature glower.
His constant warnings don’t work on Finn though.
The badass—yet somehow adorably sexy—MMA trainer puts up with my brother’s attitude to protect me from being used as a pawn in the Dragon’s world. Keeping me safe from this new threat is the only thing they can agree on.
But just how far is Finn willing to go?
A girl needs answers because I'm ready to be swept away in my own treacherous version of a love story...
After all, Cinderella’s shoes aren’t made for the Heights, but I’d take a combat boot any day.

FINN is a full-length new adult romance standalone with MMA and gang themes. It takes place in the same world as Erin's The Heights Crew series, bringing to life a beloved side character. You do not have to read The Heights Crew before reading this book.
E. M. Moore is a USA Today Bestselling author of Contemporary and Paranormal Romance. She's drawn to write within the teen and college-aged years where her characters get knocked on their asses, torn inside out, and put back together again by their first loves. Whether it's in a fantastical setting where human guards protect the creatures of the night or a realistic high school backdrop where social cliques rule the halls, the emotions are the same. Dark. Twisty. Angsty. Raw.
When Erin's not writing, you can find her dreaming up vacations for her family, watching murder mystery shows, or dancing in her kitchen while she pretends to cook.

Finn, Finn, Finn!! He was flirty, fun and an alpha at heart. Once he set his sights on her, there was no where for her to hide. I mean, who wouldn't want his attention!!
Leenie was just the one to help break down his remaining walls. She was trying to break free of her controlling brother's grasp on her life. It seemed to be one step forward and two steps back. Her brother Cole, is the leader of the Dragons (he is from the The Heights crew world) and feels compelled to sabotage all her encounters with guys.
That is until she sees the one and only Finn at the fight!! It's instant attraction. Even with her brother stepping in and putting down his law that nothing will happen between them. They try to listen, they really do. Her brother ends up having to "hire" Finn to help protector her from a threat and in hopes that if he is "working" for him then his sister Leenie would be off limits. They didn't have a fighting chance. The chemistry was FIRE between them.
A Spectacular & Swoony Slowburn Romance which kept me on Toes & Gave Amusing insights for Finn & Cole! Finn+Colleen are an Awesome pair❤. Finn is such a Perfect book-boyfriend, God I wanna claim him! DEVOURED this in 5hrs.
I met Finn & Cole (Love'em so much!) in Saint Clary's University series. Though I Haven't read the Heights Crew Series (Yet!), Finn's Book was a no-brainer! I hadn't known that Cole has a sister & Finn has a brother so that was a pleasant surprise!! I adore their Bonds & Banters. Gotta say, I hope Everyone gets a book! We get an insight on what was happening with Cole & Finn before & along the events in "This Fearless Girl" (St. Clary's #2) here!
Colleen "Leenie"; Smart, Sweet, Take-no-shit; is Cole's Younger sis. She works in bank & Lives with her bestie Jaz. Cole is Dragon Gang's Leader & Over-protective of Leenie (She has some very specific words for that *Chuckle*) Finn; Driven, Charming, Fun, Affectionate; Owns A Ring + A Gym with his Elder bro Jax & Has a cute dog. They're MMA trainers. Finn already Knows Cole as nothing can happen in the city without Cole knowing. Leenie, Cole, Finn & Jax had rather normal Childhoods & are better off than most in heights. All are Hardworking!
From the Moment Leenie & Finn meet, Its evident They've an instant lust & Connection. He's like a ray of sunshine who makes her life better. If only Cole stops to Cockblock her. (Finn's one of the 1st people who stood up for her in front of Cole *Swoon*). So they're cautious. Especially when they find that someone maybe targeting her, As she's Cole's sis.
This Threat & Cole's Over-bearing ass become a major source of Angst For Leenie & Finn throughout the book. But Whatever came, They forged on. Together. & Their feelings grew...
So much happens in just the span of days...! ~Bestie time, The Ring & Meeting Finn, Cockblocker Cole, Finn's gym, They talk, At Cole's (Cole being a JudgeMental Wife *Snicker*), Cole appoints Finn & Jax as her Bodyguards, Friend talks & At Finn's, Animal lover, Living together, Knockout & Matches, Finally Finn+Leenie kiss, Push & Pull (Due to Cole & Jax), Days pass, Affectionate Finn, Threat's real, Back At Cole's, Finn's visit & Sexy times (!!), Cole finds *Shit*, Finn's gone (work?), Threat is Eliminated, Lonely, Visit to Jax's & Truths, Wanna Cole talks, Finn's back *Yay!*, Jared's bad (?!) *Oh shit*, Showdown...
Cole had soon ended the "1st" threat But I had a feeling this book won't end Without some Present action & I was right (So edgy)! I'm so glad for Finn & Dempsey (Her Security) & that Jaz+Leenie are ok (Bad guy got what he deserved!). After this, Cole & Leenie have a heart-to-heart (Ahem, at Hospital) & I loved that Cole accepts Finn now!! Finn really is perfect for Leenie❤ *Swoon*.
Jax seemed like a Asshole at start but I liked how He accepts Leenie soon in the book. And, that epilogue..! Awesome for Leenie+Finn, BUT Omg, What had happened to Jax & Who's the mystery girl at The Door? So excited!! The Heights saga is just starting & I can't wait to see what Moore has in store for this! P.s. This story only had one POV (Leenie's), I hope we get Bonus Scenes from Finn's pov in future! **ARC Received for a Honest Review.** FB Page | Instagram | Bookbub | FB group
FINN!! Oh my does it feel good to be back with the Heights Crew world- and what a treat since this can be read as a standalone for those that haven't yet discovered my favorite EM moore series. (and avid fans will know Finn has made another appearance in a different series as well, wink wink)
While I loved our Heights Crew original cast, I was always so intrigued by and enamoured with Finn- he was such a compelling, delicious mystery, and I’m so glad we get his story. And, he does NOT disappoint. He’s even more sexy, swoony, charming, and funny than I expected. Plus, muscled man in sweatpants? Meow.
But the icing on the cake? Finn’s heroine is none other than big bad Cole’s baby sister- which hasn’t done her many favors in the romance department. I just adored her, and I empathized with her desire to find her own normal. She’s such a charming heroine- smart, optimistic, and her chemistry with Finn is sizzling. The pull between them is undeniable, but of course Leenie’s family isn’t going to make it easy, and as always in the HC world, there is other danger always waiting in the wings to disrupt our characters’ path to happiness. But, they find their happy path- and I just loved them.
As far as EM stories go, this one wasn't’ as dark or angsty as the others- which was just what I needed after the prior two roller coaster series. And, after all we see in this story, hopeful we get some time with Jaz and Jax in future standalones perhaps? Either way- I’m down for all the HC world magic.
I’ve always loved Finn and was so glad to see he got his own story! I absolutely adored Leenie and thought she was the perfect match for Finn ! This was refreshing to get a stand-alone in the heights crew world and I loved it! I enjoyed seeing the brotherly relationship between Finn and Jax. I hope we get Jax’s story next ! Definite must read !
Finn! What’s there to say? I loved him in the Heights Crew series, loved his cameo in the Saint Clary’s series, and adored him in this book! While the book focuses on his developing relationship with Leenie, I also have to mention the sibling relationship between Leenie and her brother (another beloved Heights Crew and Saint Clary’s character that I hope we’ll see again soon!) is an added bonus to Finn’s book! Erin hit it out of the park with this one!
Fin. Fin, Fin, Fin. I always liked him in the previous books he made cameos in, and have been super interested in him and Jax. and let me say, I loved getting to know him more!
Seriously, Finn is freaking dreamy. He’s the gray sweatpants version of a character. This book revolves around his relationship with Leenie, who just so happens to be Coles sister. Yanno, Cole. Leader of the Dragons. Owner of every EM Moore fans wish to be called “babygirl”. (Not everyone? Just me? Oh, okay.)
Leenie is a little spitfire. She sees something she wants and goes after it with her quick sense of humor and charm. She’s also kind and patient, a trait i would not have in her shoes. Her and Finns chemistry was explosive. They had an insta-lust attraction but for a majority of the book the reader is witnessing their blue-privates because they can’t act on it. When they finally come together you basically want to scream “HOORAY”.
I’m loving these additions into this universe and I can’t wait to read Jax’s book! i’m even hoping Jaz gets her own book, too. Oh, and i’m still not-so-patiently waiting for Coles book (😍).
My love for Finn && Leenie is too much 🥰🥰 oh my god, this book was perfection. It had just the right amount of everything in it... I totally read it in the wrong order, I may have read Jax book first 😂🙈 I knew I loved Finn from previous books and I loved him in jax's so I obviously dived straight into this book, soo glad I did. They are so adorable together 🥺🥺 Maxi is one of my favourite canine characters too 🐶😂 pleaseeeee tell me Cole is getting his own book?!?! And who is this girl in the mountains?!?!?! I honestly loved everything about this book along with every single character. I really recommend and of the books from the heights saga 🙌🏼 just be prepared for Jax book, it's insanely dark especially compared to this one.
I should start this review by letting you know that I don’t generally enjoy standalones. I also prefer my books to be enemies to lovers or at least have a bit of back and forth. With that said.... this is E.M. fucking Moore we are talking about. Not many contemporary authors butter my biscuits the way she does. So obviously I had to read Finn.
Now as previously stated I’m a whore for E.M. Moore, so it should come as no surprise that I already adored Finn. He isn’t my usual book boyfriend as I tend to drool for the bad boys that make you want to simultaneously jump their bones and beat them with a shoe. But he’s Finn, and Finn is the sweetest little sexy gumdrop there is. Seriously, he’s like a teddy bear with abs y’all! He definitely made this one of E.M. Moore’s lighter books. There was less grrr I’m going to dominate and protect you and more I’m going to cuddle and adore you until the day I die. Which admittedly made this a great palate cleanseing read for me.
Colleen was an awesome FMC, but compared to past series connected to Finn she was kinda like a plain saltine cracker. Filling but lacking that little bit of kick that makes you hungry for more. Don’t get me wrong I loved her, I just couldn’t help but feel that she was less badass than prior FMCs and didn’t really bring anything to the table.
All in all I loved reading Finn and Colleens story! It was super sweet and very insta-lovey which isn’t the type of book I usually go for making this a refreshing read for me. Definitely recommend!
P.S. Can I just say that I am still so obsessed with Cole and Jax. Like come and take me you beautiful broken assholes. Let me fucking love you!
Wow! So last year I discovered EM Moore through her Heights Crew series, which I still recommend, so if you’re reading this and haven’t picked those up yet... go now and fall in love. In those books you’re introduced to multiple different characters and given just a taste of people you’d love to get lost in. Then in St Clary’s university she teased us a little more. Although those books are separate to the Heights some of the characters overlap, once again leaving you wanting more. Then being an absolute queen she decided to fulfil our desire for more! And here we have Finn 😍
Finn and his brother Jax own a boxing/ MMA gym and are super hot trainers that were a huge part of UpperCut Princess. This book we get to see more from that life and Finn meets Leenie. I love that Leenie is straight up, if she wants something she goes for it. Her overprotective big brother is back and she’s trying to juggle keeping him happy and finding her own happiness. I love seeing a brooding Jax and with that ending I’m hoping that somewhere along the line we’ll get one or two more from these characters. If you loved the heights books you’ll definitely want to read this one. Medium burn / steam but brilliant writing.
Finn was absolutely awesome. I love everything EM writes and this was no exception. This takes place in The Heights which was awesome and I loved that it crossed over with St Clary. Well you know that if you read it..Finn is just an all around sexy nice guy and Leenie is a snarky sassy girl and it was sparks from the beginning. I loved all the characters we could see from The Heights. I was happy to see the fighting ring back. I found out all sorts of awesome things that Cole, who is the leader of the dragons and also Leenies brother is trying to do for the Heights.. We also get to know Jax better who is Finns brother. I loved it. It is a standalone which I have not read much of lately and for me they now seem like they are over so quick. Its like I need/want more. And in no way is that meant to say the story is not good, its freaking amazing but its just my want of more Finn. I am so looking forward to more of The Heights people in the future.
The action in this book was so good. I was not ready for the ending. Of course its a standalone so it does NOT end on a cliffhanger however there is a CRAZY twist at the end. It was INSANE..All in all its another homerun from this very talented writer. Cant wait to see whats next!
Ever since I met Finn I knew I had to see more of him. Saying I was beyond ecstatic when I learned he would get his own book is an understatement of epic proportions.
EM Moore delivered his story perfectly, giving us the sizzling attraction between Leenie and Finn and watching how it develops against the familiar Rawley Heights backdrop.
But Finn and Leenie aren't the only ones stealing the spotlight. I loved how we got to see more of Jax and Cole, adding to their character development. It again shows how Moore is a master in that particular field, giving us multidimensional characters.
Plus I lived for the references to the OG Heights Crew. I can't begin to express how much I love and miss them.
But I digress... Finn and Leenie are amazing. They gravitate towards eachother from the start and I love seeing them navigate that attraction. Finn's easy-going personality is exactly right for Leenie. Leenie is a pretty strong FMC too, not necessarily the physical strength Kyla showed, but it's clear her personality is hardened by living on the Heights and dare I say, even liking it. The banter between her and her bestie Jaz is GOLD.
All in all this was a pretty sweet read with some action tucked in there and I felt like it was a great palate cleanser in the Heights Crew saga.
I cannot get enough of the Heights world! Finn has officially stolen my heart. . Another amazing read an edition to the Heights Saga by E.M Moore. It was amazing seeing a supporting character gets his time in the spotlight and what a ride it was. . The story was enthralling, spicy, their chemistry was sizzling and it was a lot more grittier than I was expecting which I thoroughly enjoyed. I have been wanting a story of the boxing brothers since we met them in the Heights Series and it did not disappoint. I’m now hoping Moore will take pity on us and give us one on The other brother Jax! Leenie, my gosh I love her. She’s a firecracker and I guess that’s to be expected when your brother is none other than Cole. Gosh I can’t wait for his book. I hope we get one anyway. . Moore has no problem in drawing you in from the first page and the story just consumes you. There is so much to the Heights world that I feel like we have learnt more of it in this book and just made diving back in a new experience. I’m obsessed with the Heights world and this was an amazing edition. Well worth the read and you will not be disappointed. Amazing job E.M Moore.
Ah Finn Finny Finn .. can we talk about how hot he is for a minute? He’s been such a mystery in all the other books he was in, I wasn’t sure what he was really like.. but he’s a package of sexy muscles, charming and completely swoon worthy.. and swooning I definitely am .. I swear men in sweatpants are my weakness!! Leeney is beautiful and smart.. she’s a definite glass half full girl.. she makes lemonade with her life lemons and she is proud of her successes.. she has one huge problem... who she is related to has most men running for the door .. not Finn .. Their relationship and chemistry is so outrageously sexy and without Coles interference, they wouldn’t have any drama.. I love Jaz and I’m excited to read Jaxs story.. this was a pretty light read considering all the heavy subjects dancing around the MC.. I throughly enjoyed and I can’t wait for more!! Seriously give me more!!!
Insta lusty attraction paves the way to an action-packed book.
Finn and Leenie can’t catch a moment alone to give into their desire. Between meddlesome, alpha hole brothers and deadly threats they keep getting interrupted. But as much as I wanted them to hurry up and get busy, I’m glad the it took awhile. The wait was worth it since the book took some interesting but not totally surprising turns.
And one of the best parts: We got more Cole. I’ve been loving this character from the author’s previous books. Hoping his story will come soon.
And can we talk about that ending? Looks like Jax will have his own issues to face in the next book.
* I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.
*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
OMG this book is totally amazing!! What do you do when your brother is a gang leader that is way to overprotective to let you date? Colleen has to figure that out when her brother comes back into her life. She sneaks to a MMA fight with friends where she meets Finn ho she has an instant connection with but then brother shows up to ruin her day. It just gets better from there as they try to figure this all out. Makes for a fantastic read that will leave you unable to put it down once you get started. A total must read. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
I always love the chance to revisit amazing characters, so I was excited when I heard that Finn was getting his own book. I loved seeing him pop up in EM Moore's last series, and this book didn't disappoint. I love how Colleen stands her ground with her overbearing brother to go after what she wants. She wants Finn and doesn't let anything get in her way to get him. Together, they are magically and their story leaped off the pages. I cannot wait to see what happens next in the world of the Heights and I hope that Jax and Cole get their stories told soon.
This is an absolute must read! I fell in the love with this book from the first chapter! I just can’t get enough of it. I couldn’t control myself at all the funny parts and was laughing in hysterics along with the characters!
The book is over and now I really need more. I enjoyed the book so much that I read it in no time at all. I need to know more about the mystery broody man that is Jax 😩
Wow what a steamy, intense and wonderful book, this is officially one of my new favourite books!!
MMA trainer has met his perfect match in Leenie. Someone who can handle him. She goes after what she wants, keeps her eye on the prize. A very light mainly cheerful read that you're sure to enjoy.
Loved this addition to the Heights Crew world. Finn is a happy golden boy & Leenie is overprotected but wants to be wild. Their chemistry is great and the forbidden nature of the relationship made it even hotter.
I like the little details of the Heights, like how everyone takes the bus everywhere. E.M. Moore really pays attention to the work building and it pays off. Finn was great and I’m really looking forward to Jax and Cole getting their books!! 4 stars
We first met Finn in The Heights Crew series. Then we saw him again in Saint Clary's University. Even though we have met him before and he has played a part in both series, it isn't necessary for you to have read them in order to read Finn. I would suggest you do b/c E.M. is an amazing author and both series are really good. I think if you haven't read them before and you read Finn, you will want to go back and read them afterwards. Now we also met Cole in The Heights Crew and saw him again in Saint Clary's University. While we have gotten to know him through those series, we have yet to meet little sister. Well that's all changing now.
Leenie (Colleen) is extremely happy to have her brother back in her life. After he disappeared she didn't know if she would ever see him again. She wasn't prepared for him to come back as the leader of a gang though. Most definitely wasn't prepared for his life to impact hers so much. Most older brothers are protective already but when yours is the leader of a gang, well you might as well get used to having no life. That's what Leenie has been trying to deal with since Cole's return. No matter where she goes, once guys find out who her brother is they are tucking tail and running away. Until she meets Finn. Finn stands his ground, doesn't seem to mind who her brother is. Hell Finn is a bad ass in his own right so Cole means nothing to him. Oh if only that were true. When Cole pulls a card against Finn and his brother Jax, Finn finds himself in a heck of a predicament. Follow his heart and get the girl of his dreams or keep what he's been working for all of his life.
Now for those of us who have read the other two series mentioned above, we already love Finn. You can't help but to love the happy go lucky, hot as sin, MMA trainer. So as much as we loved him already, he needed a heck of a leading lady to win our hearts. She had to be good enough for our man. Leenie is definitely that. She may not have grown up in the gang life but she has no problem telling her big brother what's what. She's no meek flower, wilting every time someone gets mean with her. She can hold her own. The instant connection between her and Finn was just off the charts. They had such an easy connection. Too bad they both have brothers that put the poop in party pooper. It was great to see Cole as a big brother in this series. We've seen him as the big bad gang leader so it was nice to have some moments of just normal Cole, hanging out with his sister. Jax, well he's a whole other story. I can see the good in him but boy he is a grump. I can't wait to learn about his story and what happened to him to make him the way he his. But I digress.
Finn was a great standalone to come after The Heights Crew series. With THC being so into the gang scene, this was a nice, lighter, happier followup. There is still gang stuff, I mean it is the Heights and Cole is still there. But neither Finn nor Leenie are involved in the actual gang. While he is big and bad in a sense, he's also incredibly sweet. Even though he is a fighter by trade, he is a giant cuddly teddy bear when it comes to Leenie.
All in all, I really enjoyed Finn. I'm so glad we got to continue on in the Heights world. The ending in this book seems to set us up for the next book in the series and I.CAN.NOT.WAIT. That's a story I really need to know!
Shhhh.....listen carefully, do you hear that? That is the sounds of women, and men, swooning all around the world for this delicious trainer. Finn stole a piece of our hearts through the Heights Crew books. Then he made us squeal in delight with his surprise appearance in Saint Clary's. Now, it's finally him getting the girl, and shining like the rock star that he is. You may be asking who's the lucky lady. Well, this is where the fun really kicks in, because Finn's beautiful Leenie, just so happens to be the little sister to one scary, badass, Dragons leader. COLE!!! The first time Leenie laid her eyes on Finn, every other man may as well have ceased to exist. She's a smart gal, she recognized perfection when she saw it. The immediate chemistry between them was off the charts. Not everyone was thrilled with their possible union though. It was kind of a toss up for who was going to kill Finn first, Cole, or Jax. Of course, being more than capable of holding his own, Finn did not cower to either man. Unfortunately, there was some serious business that needed handling, and Finn had to keep his focus on that. I felt bad for Leenie, she just wanted to have a normal life, and get laid by the hot trainer. Her best friend, Jaz, tried helping her out, but men can be stubborn creatures. When it became impossible for Finn to not have her, he flat out rocked her world. So, here I was all happy they were finally together, and who do you think comes along to crush my joy? You got it, the Dragons leader himself. Freaking big brothers, always got to be buzz kills. I wanted to give Leenie the biggest hug ever, she really needed one. Thankfully, neither Finn, nor her, were willing to give each other up, and my insides felt all sunshine and butterflies again. I'm over here seeing hearts, picking out their future children's names, while some sick psycho is hiding in the wings. Talk about whiplash, in less than a second I went from "damn girl, you're so lucky" to "HOLY SHIT! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!" Thank the book Goddess, we do get a happy ending, she had me worried there for a minute. The end was full of love and happiness, welll....maybe not so much for Jax, but that's a story for another day.
This is my first book by E.M. Moore wasn’t a reverse harem and didn’t have any bully or dark parts. Because of this I was kinda hesitant if I would enjoy it or not. But I actually loved it a lot more than I thought I would.
We’ve met Finn in The Heights Crew series. He owns the gym with his brother Jax. I loved his character in that series so I’m definitely happy he got his own book. Leenie is Cole’s sister. We meet Cole briefly in The Heights Crew also. You do not need to read those books before this one. While there is some backstory E.M. makes it easy to understand without having to go back and read the other books. Cole is the leader of the Dragons who have taken over the Heights after the Crew was dismantled. Because of this he is very protective of his sister. Sometimes to the point I wanted Leanie to go off on him and slap him upside the head. But in the end he is just trying to keep her safe.
Finn and Leenie meet at the Ring while she goes out with her bff Jaz. They have an instant connection and you can feel the chemistry from the moment they meet. After her brother catches them Cole threatens Finn. Leenie tries to reason with her brother and they come up with an idea. One that Leenie soon realizes isn’t in her favor. Finn and Jax will be her guards while Cole is out of town, but the downside is they aren’t allowed to hook up.
Finn is even better than I remember. He is such a fun guy with an abundance of charm. I love how he stuck up for Leenie and was so protective of her without being overbearing. Leenie is a great character. She is just trying to live a normal life which is pretty much impossible when her brother is the leader of the gang that controls the town. She doesn’t let that stop her from getting what she wants though, even if that is a yummy trainer.
I honestly loved this book. It was different from the other books I’ve read but it still kept me interested. I enjoyed the lightheartedness. That’s not to say there were some intense moments but compared to E.M.'s other books this one is less heart pounding. We also don’t have to worry about any cliffhangers! I’m excited for Jax’s book. He is such a mystery and I definitely have a thing for moody guys.
Full disclosure, this was my first read of E.M Moore, and I was a bit concerned that I wouldn't fully follow it, even though it is a standalone in the heights saga, but good lord! This was incredible! This book was everything I was worried I've been missing out on! And now I've bumped the rest of the Heights Crew and also the St. Clary's University series up my TBR, especially since we're going to be getting more!
I LOVED the tropes of this book and it certainly was a bit of me, young adult, gangs, MMA, tattooed hunks, hotter than hell bedroom scenes, a perfect balance of swoon and laughs.
In a spoiler free nutshell, Leenie is the sister of a gang leader and struggles to have a lot of time on her own...her and her BFF Jaz go to watch fight night and enter the meet cute! Leenie locks eyes with sexy as hell Finn and she goes after her target, we ship a strong and confident woman, as does Finn apparently. Their connection is strong and instant. Obvisually, a lot goes down, which I won't get into, but what I will say is, Leenie hit the nail on the head when she says "Dear lord, I've hit the man lottery" Yes you bloody well have!
Finn, wow, my poor woman parts can't cope with how attractive this man is. Is it not enough that he's a man mountain of muscle and good looks, but the audacity to be a dog loving, funny, caring, affectionate and adoring soul too?! Throw me a bone here! I could barely keep my jealousy under wraps!
"It shouldn't make me happy that you said that, but it does. I keep looking at you and how perfect you are. You're putting up with my brother. You love my dog. Your personality. That fucking kiss."
On that note, I loved Jax and all of his moodiness! He's such a tough nut to crack, and he made me tut aggressively many times, as did Cole, but in true persistent Leenie fashion she continues to chip away at his stone cold personality and it was everything we needed to set it up for Jax's book.
So far, it's been hard to replace Tessa and her ballers as my favorite Moore escape, but the Heights has something very special in itself. It's a great balance of some grit, a little of that cold touch of the criminal underworld, and we still get to keep the romance. I hope Moore continues developing this world, and like many others, have a feeling that Jax will get a turn. Though, I'll also be selfish for a minute and say that I do hope for more RH in the Heights world. I'm greedy, and I like the variety of characters who get to take us along for the ride.
That being said, Finn was a fitting addition to the Heights world, and I think that it's a perfect palate cleanser if you're wanting to stay with this world and these voices but need a little moment away from the RH branch of the world. Finn has always been a character I've enjoyed, him and his brother having just the right amount of page time and intrigue in Kyla's series that I was excited to see him again in the St. Clary's leg of our big connected world. So, it was nice to get this standalone that encapsulated a moment where he gets his own happiness after we've seen him be a good support system and contribute to the happiness of our other leading ladies.
Leenie is likable too, and she fits right in with the sass that I've come to expect as a requirement for a woman who holds her own in the Heights. I wish I could get to know her better, so I could see a little more depth from her!
And then there's Cole. I just enjoy Cole, honestly. To be fair, Johnny was one of my favorites in Kyla's journey, so I might be biased toward enjoying these rough and tumble boys who have a soft spot for a select few.
Generally, I enjoy all of my Moore reads, and this is no exception. If you're ready for a standalone and a little RH break, then I honestly can't think of a reason for those who want Moore ;P to check this one out.
I’m just going to come out and say it...Finn is the greatest guy in the Heights. I mean I knew he was pretty great after The Heights Crew series, but this really solidified it.
Leenie is such an interesting character - she’s outspoken and strong, but she also brings a sweetness to the story that absolutely was needed. It was so obvious that she and Cole are siblings and seeing them interact humanized him in a way that was really necessary after mainly seeing him as the badass gang leader that he is. I loved that she could hold her own with him and stood up for herself and her relationships, showing him that she’d grown up over the years and could take care of herself.
Finn really is a bright spot in all the darkness in Rawley Heights. Not only him and his personality, but the gym and the possibilities it creates for people there. I love that he’s not afraid of Cole, showing no intimidation and not giving up on the connection that he and Leenie share. He’s got a tough exterior that comes from living in the Heights, but he’s one of the sweetest, most caring guys...and he has a dog - who doesn’t love a guy with a dog?
It was definitely lust at first sight for both of them, but watching their relationship grow over the course of the book was so sweet - they truly care for each other and you could tell just how deeply in every interaction they had, even when they were trying to keep their distance. After reading The Heights Crew and Saint Clary’s University, I loved that this story was woven between the two series. But, I think I was spoiled by the depth and character development in both of those stories and found myself wanting this book to be longer so that I could have more from Finn and Leenie too.
Loved seeing more of Jax and his personality in this book. He really started to come into his own as a character and can’t wait for The Heights Saga to continue to give us even more!
Everyone’s favorite sexy MMA trainer finally gets his own story 😍 Finn is just... so darn lovable
I’ve always loved Finn. He and Leenie together are 🔥🔥 Both have very overbearing older brothers. Their relationship is forbidden ONLY for that reason. Because, let’s face it, their chemistry is off the charts. But what I loved most is their innocence regarding love. They both love with their whole hearts and it’s beautiful. We mostly forget how amazing that first love felt never knowing the concept of holding back emotionally because it just feels that euphoric and good. Many only remember the pain after. But that first euphoria you experience? Man, there’s nothing like it. Reading these two together made me remember what that felt like.
The story itself is wrought with danger and mystery. Leenie’s life is in danger because of her brother and much to the dismay of Finn’s brother, both he and Finn are tasked with guarding her. The result being a series of all of the stolen beautiful moments I just mentioned. But make no mistake, the danger is very real. And when it’s finally revealed? Let’s just say I did not see that coming 😳
This is a complete standalone, but if you’re ever curious of the backstory of these characters, I HIGHLY recommend reading The Heights series followed by The Clary University series. Both are AH-MAZING. And, once you’ve read those, go back even further to Spring Hill Blues. That’s the series that made me discover EM Moore. You will not be disappointed.
Hopefully, her next endeavor into these characters is getting Jax (Finn’s brother) laid. Goodness knows his uptight but lovable self needs it. I’d really like to see what’s next for Cole too. So many layers to both of them.
Bottom Line: Read this book and welcome to the wonderful world of EM Moore ❤️
When I heard Finn was getting a story, I couldn’t wait to get it into my hands. This book is everything I wanted and more. This book can be read as a standalone but with all the Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the book you will want to read the Heights Crew series!
I knew as soon as we met Finn in the original story line that I needed to know more about him. How he ticked, what made him who he was. He is the happiness the Heights is lacking. He is such a happy, sexy, funny character that turns on the charm and wins you over in one smile. Leenie can’t help but be pulled into his vicinity when she sees him one night at the ring.
Having a brother that protects you is what a girl wants but what if it goes too far and hinders your happiness. Having a gang leader as a brother does nothing to help in the love department. She must learn to stand up for what she wants and make her brother see that he does not own her.
Through this story we see a lot of acceptance and growth in Cole's character along the story line. Even though he wants to protect his sister he finally sees that she is right and he can’t protect her from everything. He finally sees his sister for who she is; a smart, strong, independent adult is struck when she sees Finn for the first time. The chemistry is flying off the pages while these two finding themselves stuck in an orbit around each other.
I cannot wait to read Jax's story and dive into his brain to finally find out why he is the way he is. EM hit this book out of the park and I hope we get more out of the characters of the Heights Crew.
Just a request *wink wink* I would love to dive deeper into Cole!!!
