They say time heals all wounds … but it’s impossible to mend and move on when you’re trapped in the past, still haunted by the very thing that causes so much pain.
Brianna Boswell knows fear all too well. After enduring trauma and abuse at the hand of someone who was supposed to love her, Bree lives in constant terror of what’s lurking around every corner. She knows she must flee town in order to escape her nightmare once and for all. When her first love returns to town, he vows to protect her so she can remain in the town they grew up in, but Bree must decide if staying is worth the risk.
Colton Sutton is happy to return to the comforts of small-town life in his hometown of Belle Ridge, Texas. When he learns the woman he’s loved since childhood—but has held at arm’s length—plans to escape town with a great secret, he devises a plan to protect Bree and all that she holds dear from suffering the same fate he’d endured. Knowing trauma leaves scars long after the wound is healed, Colton is faced with the decision to forge his own path or lose everything that matters to him.
When demons from the past collide with current evils, will the key to survival be conquering them together or keeping their lives—and problems—separate in order to save that which matters most?
Explore Belle Ridge, Texas where the tea is sweet, neighbors are nosy, and “things like this don’t happen”—until they do. Each book can be read as a stand-alone but contain spoilers when read out of order. Belle Ridge’s Department of Tourism takes great pride in their lack of cliffhangers and guaranteed HEAs.
Escape was previously titled Escape from Belle Ridge.
This is the first Andrea Rousse book that I have read. But I can promise you it won't be the last. I feel the urge to have to go back and read the first two book in the Belle Ridge, Texas series. Each book is a stand alone, but I'm under the impression that characters are carried over and laced through each other's stories. Brianna is about to leave the tiny town of Belle Ridge that she calls home to protect herself. That is when Colton comes back to town. The only way for her to stay is for them to join together to battle what is threatening her. The author did a terrific job developing the characters and the chemistry. The book had a wonderful storyline and kept my attention from beginning to end.

Belle Ridge is a small town, and like all small towns it has its secrets. Bree knows that all too well, as she's about ready to leave the town that she calls home in order to stay safe. When Colton comes back to town, will he be able to protect Bree, or is it too late for that? And can they realize their true feelings for each other while fighting against Bree's personal nightmare? This was the third book in the series and I loved it - could be read as a standalone book as well.

The writing will draw you in after only a few pages and have you finishing the book in one sitting. There is the perfect amount of angst and romance to keep you hooked.

Escape from Belle Ridge is Book 3 in the Belle Ridge, Texas series and is a great romantic suspense story.
I enjoyed reading this book and found the characters to be well developed, strong, and likable. The storyline is well written and engaged my interest from beginning to end. This story flows nicely and has danger, suspense, and romance.
A small town romance is a great read, and even better when it's a small town with secrets. Wonderful characters you can't help but love and a story line that's captivating and makes it a book that's hard to put down.
