Blood Fury MC #8

Blood & Bones: Rev

Rate this book
From a past of righteousness to a future of anything but…

Rev rarely does what’s expected of him.
The Blood Fury member’s rebellious nature tends to lead him on the road less traveled.
In his youth, he fought the chains meant to restrain him, meant to force him on a righteous path. A path he never chose. A path he never planned to follow.
He prefers to pave his own road, taking detours to forge his own future.
Even if it’s one full of sin.
But an unexpected call drags him back to the painful past he’s left far behind. One he’s tried to forget.
No good reason exists for him to return. Except to witness the final moments of the person who made him and his sister suffer.
Maybe even get a taste of revenge.
However, he’s not sure he can deal with it alone. He wants someone to stand by him and help give him strength.
A woman who also carves her own path and spits in the face of restrictive rules.
The problem is, she’s off limits. No matter how tempting she is, no matter how satisfying the sin would be, touching her is one rule he can’t break.
Ultimately, mistakes are made.
Secrets are forced to be kept.
Because he’s a sinner.
He was born one.
He will die one.
And in between, he plans to enjoy the life he chose.
Sins and all.

Note: Blood & Bones: Rev is the eighth book in the Blood Fury MC series. As always, this book has no cheating, no cliffhanger and has an HEA. It’s recommended to read this series in order.

It’s taken a few days to come up with a review for Rev and I’m still speechless. Rev’s story is not like the rest of the series. While each book has been fantastic this one was….see speechless. I can’t come up with a word good enough to describe it. Revs’ story is not for the feint of heart. While there is plenty of humor there is also heartbreak. We get a lot of Rev’s past which to be honest wasn’t easy to read, but it was very well written and I knew Ms St James was taking us through it for a reason. They way these two damaged people held each other up through some of the darkest parts of their lives was hauntingly beautiful.

This one was ok for me, not sure why it didn't it as good as some of the others. Maybe because I knew Rev had been hitting up the sweet butts like crazy, despite being attracted to Reilly. And it pissed me off that Reilly was off limits to the guys, hated the double standards. That it was ok for the guys to sleep with anyone, but not the case for the women. And sure the Reilly being off limits was from her sister, Reese and that made sense when she first showed up, but later, not so much. It just ostracized her.

I was glad that Reilly knew something was off with Rev and did what she could to do with him. He needed the support, even if he didn't want it. I liked that these 2 had time to get to know each other away from the group. It helped them start building something. I really wished they would have done something about being able to be together before they were caught, it would have been better for everyone. But it all did come out ok in the end.

More emotion and less action

The story of Rev and Reilly takes place mostly outside of the Blood Fury MC and Manning Grove. Reilly pushed to be included in a trip Rev is taking to see his dying father. Here secrets are revealed and both Reilly and Rev are forced to face their past. This makes the story more character driven than previous Blood Fury books. (Although these were already good)

The intimacy that builds between Rev and Reilly are well written. Although I missed a bit of action in the story, this is a personal preference. I think this book is a great addition to the series and brings some balance to some of the more action suspense books in the series.

Yet, another hit to this series. I can always count on this author to give me a story that is engaging, with great characters, and an interesting storyline. I love that this series is grittier and even though the backstory is heartbreaking, it makes me appreciate the characters more. Rev and Really are two of my favorite characters in this series so far.

The heroine in this story is Reilly, Reese's sister, the woman who burned who boyfriend alive. After he beat her up twice and scarred her face.

I prefer the hero do the chasing and in this book Reilly keeps throwing herself at him. I liked the earlier books much better.

Rev...Rev you engine? The Reverend? The Reversal of training...what ever the Rev stands for he is not what he seems. As one of the smart mouthed mechanics at Dutch's garage, Rev is a Blood Fury member who knows his place. Or at least is trying to know his place. Until Reilly, the must "off limits' little sister to an ol' lady, pushes all his buttons. At first she only wants to comfort him as he faces his past, but the trip turns into so much more for both of them. This story was much gentler on my mind than a few others in the series (Sig and Shade for example), but still had so much depth.
In all to many MC romances, the "dark" elements the authors try to infuse become overpowering. Jeanne St. James puts in so much humour, angst, intrigue and smut that the balance is just about perfect. Each character is so different and their is no "formulaic" plot or storyline. I really just can't get enough. Where Rook was a total surprise to me in terms of characters, Reilly was pleasantly not what I expected. Reese (her older sister/mother) was still not a favourite of mine, but I can see why she is the way she is. Reese's ol' man Deke (Deacon) is still so great and just rolls with the punches. I really like that about his character.
If you haven't discovered Jeanne St. James before...Start with the DAMC series, then Bryson's...then right over into this series Blood Fury...you will not be disappointed!!! Enjoy!

Rev has to take a difficult trip back to his home town and it seems a friend wants to come along for emotional support. She will also windup facing her complicated past and will be glad Rev is there to help her though it. This is a heart wrenching story about two people who decide to face their past so they could move forward. The twist and turns in this story were fantastic and there are several surprises.

Jeanne's stories are always exciting, suspenseful, and at times hilarious. There have some great lines all through the story and this is just one of my favorite- “Nah. If I wanted to pick my teeth, I'd use a toothpick.” You will not be able to put this down once you start it and you also will not want it to end. Ozzy's story can't come soon enough for me. It will have to be an impressive women to take him on and drop him to his knees. I'm not sure what Saylor's future has in store but looking forward to see where she lands.

I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

As a member of the Blood Fury, Rev knows that blood does not make you family. Instead, his family left him to suffer for rules that they felt were Godly. Reilly has always lived with her sister Reese as her mother. Reese raised her like her own daughter and in doing so as an adult Reilly is always put to task with rules. The one rule that Reilly cannot stand is the one where she's untouchable to the Fury members. As far as she is concerned, who goes into her body should be her choice, not her sister’s!

When Rev's past comes back to haunt him, Reilly decides to make sure that he cannot be on his own for a journey down memory lane. However, that road will lead to a temptation that neither Reilly nor Rev can ignore. But when Rev and Reilly's journey is over, what will be at the end of that path? Because as everybody knows, the forbidden fruit always tastes the best but it's always the most dangerous.

As usual Jeanne St. James knows how to write a book that completely enthralls the reader from the 1st page to the last! The sex scenes were extremely steamy, the turmoil was epic as usual, and the characters of Reilly and Rev just popped out on the page and made you feel as if you knew exactly who they were. Usually when St. James starts a book it's the hero always trying to save the heroine in the book. However, with Reilly and Rev,  unbeknownst to the strong, dangerous biker Rev, Reilly is the one to save him not only from himself but from a life that could totally destroy him. The way that Jeanne went about writing the story was a unique take on a hero and heroine's adventure into the unknown and into the forbidden forest of lust.

As always, I am hooked on whatever Jeanne St. James comes out with and Rev is no different. If you only have one book to choose from this month Rev would be my go to pick for sure! Because reading Rev is like standing in the center of a tornado! You watch as all the debris and all the excitement circles around you as you stay steady and quiet in the center. Because that is who Reilly is. She is the center of Rev.

Love the men of this MC

Rev's story draws you in from the beginning. Reilly gives him a message that brings his past crashing down on him. He hated his parents and their harsh upbringing of him and his sister. He was beaten and his young sister sexually assaulted. He escaped when he was 16 and eventually his sister did too. Both have found a family in the Fury MC. He returns the phone call and learns his father is dying of cancer. Rev decides to make the trip home to confront his old man and to make sure he's really dying. Reilly belongs to the MC but thanks to her sister she's hands off to anyone in the club. There's chemistry between Reilly and Rev but neither one is willing to suffer the consequences of crossing the line. When she sees how upset Rev is she decides to go with him. The whole interaction with his parents is heated and then Rev learns about the dirty secret they kept hidden. In the meantime he and Reilly are sharing a motel room and it doesn't take long before they end up in bed. Before the trip ends they both realize there's more to their relationship than a few days of hooking up, which means they must fight for a future. Absolutely loved their story.

Reading a Jeanne St James’ book is like slipping into comfy shoes after a long hard day. I know I’m going to love everything about it and I just let the author lead me along wherever she wants to take me. The dialogue is amazing - I really don’t know anyone who writes better, especially between men.

This is quieter, more internalized book between the two main leads - a road trip between Rev and Reilly where they can learn each other and fall in love away from the MC. The drama concerns Rev and his long lost family - lost for a very good reason. It’s a friends to lovers book, which I normally avoid, but again because it’s Jeanne I dove in with both feet.

It could have been over the top angsty, especially considering Rev’s man-whooore ways, but the author never lets Reilly or the reader go “there.” Reilly is psychologically and mentally prepared to take on Rev with all his baggage. And Rev is the same. He falls hard and fast for Reilly - it’s so wildly entertaining and heartwarming She’s his anchor in a storm - his partner along for the ride. Perfection.

No cheating, no O/W drama. Arc review.

Another outstanding read 🖤🔥🖤

This book is the 8th instalment of the Blood Fury MC series and I can’t figure out how Jeanne St James does it. These characters are so fully developed, the stories so incredibly detailed and developed - you’d swear they are real people. And maybe in a way, they are because these stories (and the extended universe they belong to) feels like catching up with old, dear friends.

This is the story of Rev and Reilly and one we’ve been waiting anxiously for. These 2 may be my pick for the most fun and sweetest couple in the BFMC. There is very minor drama within the relationship- these 2 are SOLID - once they actually get together - and on the same page. I absolutely love how they are together and how they care for each other. And there is plenty of humor in their relationship too. They are simply amazing.

There are some revelations that rock one of them. And circumstances that are disturbing but they get through it all together. I cannot wait for the massive crossover book coming and am excited to see how all of that is going to shake out. Another huge hit for this author!!!!

I really wasn’t expecting this book. I have noticed Rev in other books in this series but not to the point where he stood out to me. He has now. I never expected his story to be as complex as it was. I never thought his background would be as heartbreaking as it was. But then again all the members of this MC club surprise me at every turn. They all have found this club at the right time for each of them. Reilly is the girl no one is allowed to touch. She is the sister of an ol’ lady but she is her own woman. I have respected her from the first time she walked on a page. She is stronger than anyone gives her credit for even though the brothers(of the MC) admire her as well. They all tease her like a sister but watch her like she’s theirs. Which she kind of is. Rev and Riley are perfect in their support for each other. They are friends who know what the other needs before it’s asked. I love that about them. This story had so many moments when I gasped to the point where I didn’t know how it would turn out.

I think this book has been my favorite of the series so far. Rev and Riley's story is more of an emotional one. There are some past traumas' that they both of them are dealing with and when Rev has to come face to face with is past Riley is determined to be there to help him. She was not prepared for what kind of situation she would be facing with him but with her calming effect and her comfort and strength she helps him through this tough and heartbreaking time. Rev has a past that is unlike most and he has been trying to escape it for years when one phone call brings it all crashing back into his life. Riley stands by him and as she does they start to show each other their feelings that they have been keeping to themselves for the last year. Riley is on the do not touch list and she is tired of being there and wants Rev. I loved reading their journey and story even when it was heart wrenching and disturbing. They deal with some really hard topics and have to break through to her sister to make their relationship a reality. This book is perfect in every way.

What can I say, except I love this series. I have never been disappointed with the Blood Fury stories. Finally Reilly and Rev get their book. Whoever thought that it would be those two that got together. Their chemistry together works. I cried more over their story than I laughed. We find out about Rev's past and where he came from and why he left at 16. Believe me its a doozy.
Rev gets a call that his father is dying and decides to go home to confront the past. Reilly decides he is not going alone after Rev tells her some things about his upbringing. Reilly decides to confront her past too. After walking around each other for almost a year Reilly wants Rev, and he discovers he wants her too. Together they decide to put both their past lives in the past and start looking to their future. Now if they can just get her sister Reese and the Blood Furies to let them have it. Read and Enjoy.

I’d read the reviews before starting this book and I wasn’t sure if I’d like it much since everyone stated that it didn’t have a ton of action in it. What an awesome and emotional read. I didn’t miss the time of action and was content to explore Rev’s horrific past and his blossoming relationship with Reilly. There are triggers in this book. Beware that there’s mention of child physical and sexual abuse, and other horribly things happening within a cult like atmosphere. Personally, I wanted to see Rev’s abusers suffer much, much more than they did in this book. I’m also hopefully that we someday get to see Saylor’s happy ending, if anyone deserves one it’s her! Reilly is just hilarious and I love a female character that likes sex, doesn’t apologize for her history, and calls men in their baloney. She’s perfect for Rev and I laughed and got choked up with many of their interactions. I can’t wait to read more.

Jeanne St. James continues to blow me away with each new release. Her books never cease to amaze me. Each storyline is original and riveting. The members of the Blood Fury are all broken in their own way and deserve nothing but happiness. Rev’s childhood is full of lies, pain and heartache. He finally knows what a family is when he got involved with the Blood Fury. Reilly has been through her own trauma which came to a head in Deacon’s story. She has been adopted into the Fury because of her connection to Reese, Deacon’s old lady. When Rev’s past comes back to haunt him, he and Reilly embark on a road trip meant to help give Rev closure. The banter between these two is witty and entertaining. They are the perfect combination. This book has it all – great characters, engaging conversation, amazing chemistry, suspense, and a happy ending for all. A definite must read!!

I loved this book! This one was about Rev and Reilly.Reilly is hands off to all the brothers by order of her sister Reese. She works at Dutchs’ garage and is always in someone’s business.Rev works there too and really tries to keep to the rules but when he hears his abusive father is dying he needs to go home to witness it.Reilly worms her way into getting him to come along to get her stuff out of storage. When they get there a lot of past secrets come out and Rev is devastated.Reilly had a devastating past as well and they start to lean on each other, thinking it will be only for this trip. They can’t control their feelings for each other and take the chance that Rev will have to pay the consequences for breaking the club rules. The book had me from start to finish with a great realistic storyline and a great ending.Highly recommend it !

Another fantastic addition to the BFMC series. Rev and Reilly's story is a slow burn that has you unable to put it down.

Rev comes from a community that see's women and men groomed to be obedient spouses and follow the way of their Lord. Rev spent most of his child hood on the punishing hand of his parents rather than the loving hand and at the age of twelve he can longer take it.

Reilly escaped the clutches of her evil ex, and happily hig the burn button, but now she is trapped in a different kind of cage. A cage that saw her firmly on the 'do not touch or else list'. Her sister Reese raised her, and refuses to loosen her leash on her sisters life afraid of the choices she may make.

Rev and Reilly find themselves dancing around each other until a road trip takes a rather steamy term and now they must face the consequences of their actions.

My Trip! My Rules!

This book is amazing!!
Hot and Steamy!! Earth shattering!!
Breaking all rules and then some not even written yet!
Rev and Reilly have gotten their shit together and refuses to bow to anyone.
They know what they want and goes for it.
What Rev explaining his childhood Reilly about had me wanting to just give him huge hug and tell him he did not fail Saylor.
I did not see half of what he found out coming at all.
This book has ALL the feels (good, bad, laughing, crying and a whole lot of hope).
I do not know how she keeps putting out book after book that just draws you in and does not let go of you.
Leaves you wanting to read the next book like now (July can not get here fast enough)!

I read an early review copy of this book for an honest review.

I was impatiently waiting for a book featuring Reilly as the heroine ever since she first appeared in this series. That she ended up with Rev, well I honestly couldn’t be happier.
These two have one horrible thing in common - useless parents. But for two totally different reasons. Rev’s backstory was bordering on horrific. Maybe more so for his sister but he lived that horror as well right until he ran away.
Jeanne astounds me every time I pick up one of her books. The way her mind works which in turn creates such fabulous stories - I can only say that I am left in awe each and every time I reach the books end. Cannot wait for the next book and even better it’s a crossover!! I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

Where do I even start with this one!!
As always, this series gets better with each installment! These bad ass bikers break and steal my heart every time!
Rev, my heart!! What a story he has to tell. I didn’t see that coming and I couldn’t stop reading. A horrific story told with so much finesse.
Reilly, yeah she’s crazy and a perfect fit into the Fury world! I loved her. She has always cracked me
Up. Her smart mouth, witty comebacks and all around great personality. She’s a a tad bit stubborn!!
These two embark on a journey that will change their lives in so many ways!
You are going to laugh, cry, get angry, get very hot and bothered, and you’re going to fall head over heels in love!
My trip my rules!!! Absolutely loved this!

I LOVE Rev and Reilly! I have a new favorite heroine--REILLY! I want Reilly for by BFF. She is so great and fun. Rev and Reilly are perfect together, she is just what he needs in his life. They complete each other beautifully. They both have their own tragic past (her's more recent, his childhood) and I have a feeling we will revisit his again in Saylor's book (which I can't wait for!!!) This story was intense, hot, funny, full of heart and altogether wonderful. No spoilers but a certain someone needed to suffer A LOT more before meeting his end in this book. I loved that scene with Rev, Reilly, Reece and Deacon in her apartment--OMG--HILLARIOUS!!! This is an amazing book and you should one click immediately! Plus there is a great preview of Crash!

Rev has overcome a devastating past and found unwavering support and a safe haven within the Blood Fury MC. Circumstances have changed and no matter how much he is dreading it he must now revisit the past but having Reilly as his co-pilot brings a whole new set of complications to the mix.

Reilly has a difficult past of her own and she isn’t about to let Rev face his demons alone. She is strong, resilient and forbidden due to her connection to the MC however she is also Rev’s strongest ally.

Hot chemistry, witty banter and all the feels as Rev and Reilly spend time together and learn each others secrets their journey into the past might just give them both the future they deserve.

Brilliant, Rev's book is flipping brilliant! I fall in love with every single one of the Blood Fury boys, its impossible not to! I can't leave out the ladies when I talk about Ms St James' books. They are just as awesome as their old men are. It is so fantastic to watch an MC form and grow over the course of the series. It just adds another dimension to the overall theme most MC books have of family, blood or made as you watch those bonds morph and expand between them. Rev has to go back to where he started in order to move on. It isn't easy but fortunately someone tagged along to help. That kicks off their forbidden relationship and is just the start of a wild ride. This series is absolutely magnificent, I wish it would never end! Ten stars for Rev!

The Forbidden Woman and Rev the BFMC brother

Jeanne StJames has a winner with Rev and Reilly in Rev’s story! Romance and steamy scenes full of wanting and desire. The secrets and a tortured past plague Rev. Reilly and Rev share a common past with horrific growing up years. A phone call brings all of Rev’s past front and center. Reilly is there to help Rev keep it together. Reilly bullies her way on Rev’s trip to deal with his past and to pick her up packed boxes from a storage unit close by. This trip is the beginnings of a new relationship that is ripe and ready to explode in the chemistry neither can deny. All of Jeanne St. James’s books are worthy of preorders and a one click buy.

This is one of those books that starts off with a horrific bang and then plays with your emotions throughout. At times it is very playful and fun, then it gets you to a point of emotional turmoil when Rev must go back to where he always wanted to forget. The love story between Rev and Reilly was sweet and saucy and of course, it wouldn't be a St. James book without a lot of steam too. But mostly for me, it was a devastating story of two abused children who had to move on from their painful pasts in order to be free to live and love in their adult lives. The reveals were shocking and explosive. Great action scenes, intense drama between club members and a wonderful HEA. Loved it!

Oh my gosh, once again the prologue almost brought me to tears! The Blood Fury guys had the worst childhoods imaginable, thank goodness they’ve found a family together. Ok, enough of that and back to Rev. This is a fabulous book and an amazing addition to a really great series. Rev and Reilly crack me up! The two of them spend a lot of time trying to keep their feeling under wraps but and unexpected road trip gives them some much needed freedom. Reilly is one of my favorites…her smart mouth and non stop talking is hilarious. Oh and Rev is a sweetheart whose family is beyond awful! Sexy, fun and sweet…Ms. St. James has done it again!

Rev was raised in somewhat horrible conditions
his family had certain beliefs and if they thought that you broke or didn’t do something right they would force severe punishment. I really felt for Rev but his childhood made him one mean son of a gun. His lady was perfect for him she never shut up and tempted him even though he knew he could lose his stripes.

I swear these stories just keep getting better and better even though his past is tough Rev is not his parents and this couple was perfect for each other I could not put the one down until I was done.
