The Post Apocalyptical epic Sci-Fi Fantasy of Earth's future, Tales of Nevaeh, continues with The Rise, Tales of Nevaeh, Volume VII, Journal 2... as Solomon Roth rises within the ranks of the Nevaen hierarchy to forge an alliance between the ten dominions of Nevaeh in preparation of the coming attacks by the Dark Sorceress as she and her Dark Masters prepare to conquer the ten Nevaen Domains.--Roth and Enaid are the only people who may be able to bring together the Nevaens, stop the dark forces from overrunning their world, and bring peace to all the people, but only if they survive the hidden forces of the Dark Rise, Tales of Nevaeh, Volume 7, Journal 2, continues Solomon Roth's return to a vastly different earth three thousand years after he and two-hundred other men and women were sent to save humanity. The second book of the series will follow Roth's rise on his new home, as one of the most powerful warriors in Nevaeh.--Tales of Nevaeh, The Rise, is both science fiction and fantasy. Reviewers have called Tales of Nevaeh a mixture of Shannara, The Hundred, with a dash of GoT thrown in as well, and reminiscent of Andre Norton. The Rise, combines futuristic Post-Apocalyptic societies ruled by scientific magic, metaphysical powers, and strong men and women. The series follows Roth as he brings the dominions of Nevaeh together to fight the Dark Masters and their armies of slaves.

A Hybrid Traditional and Independent Author, I became an independent publisher, author, and writer in 2008 with Angels in Mourning, my 'homage' to the old-time private detective's of the 50's and the 60's. Angels is a contemporary take on the old-style noir detective and won the Amazon.com Book of the Month Reader's Choice Award.
The first book of my Sci-Fi Fantasy series Tales of Nevaeh. Born to Magic, is an international Amazon genre Best Seller, Awarded the Silver medallion from the Drunken Druid International Literary Awards, and was a Kindle Review of Books finalist for Fantasy Book of the year. Among my Mysteries & Thrillers are The Hyte Maneuver, (a Literary Guild alternate selection); The Sokova Convention, The Morrisy Manifest, Desperately Killing Suzanne, The Whistleblower’s Daughter, and Out of the Shadows. My first non-fiction book, The Indie Writer’s Handbook, Designed for Independently Published authors, was honored with a B.R.A.G. Medallion for literary excellence, and awarded the Bronze Medal by the Florida Authors and Publishers Association.
I wrote a contemporary fiction novel, based on the Harry Chapin Song, A Better Place to Be, was named a B.R.A.G. Medallion Honoree, signifying a book of the highest literary quality, and written by an independent writer; and, A Better Place to Be also received the Bronze Medal Award from Ireland's Drunken Druid International Literary Awards.
On wow, this book is just made for audio books and maybe even a television series. I loved the book but you definitely need to read the first book to under stand what is going on, although there is a glossary at the end of the book so you can brush up on the different words and meanings. Like the first book, this book is packed full of action adventure, heartache and romance, spies and betrayal everything you could want from a great plot. The characters are great and I like the introduction of a few new ones. I love the fact the ladies of power are the most powerfulest people on the battlefield and with there ability and connection to there auotems (like a witches familiar) they add a different and exciting level to the battlefield. But it Solomon Roth's skill and determination to reunite the kingdoms that really works for me and it show that he knows his people and the author really knows and cares about his characters and that leads you to do the same. I can't wait to find out what the author has in store for them next. Solomon Roth knows the Nevaens have never been so close to taking down the Circle of Afzah and hopefully there servant the black witch but in order to do so he will have to reunite the differing kingdoms once and for all. But he has his work cut out for him with spies, traitors and not to mention the people the black witch controls by magic, he will have a job working out who he can trust and not even the ladies of power or his beloved Enaid will be able to help him with that, as there's is a dark force working behind the scenes. Both sides are forming an army to destroy the other side but who will come out on top and at what cost? Definitely will be getting this series in audio book when it comes out. I was given this free review copy book at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
“He wanted to be one of them. He did not want to shape the people of Nevaeh to his old ideals, he did not want to shape their world to his old morality and ideals, nor did he want to influence their growth and their lives by introducing too much of the past into their present; but, he was slowly realizing he had no choice.”
Of course this installment is just as epic as part 1 was and lends more insight into Roth himself. The above quote I pulled from the book well summarizes some of the challenges he faced in returning to Earth and also tells so much about Neveah.
This book really drives home exactly why Roth truly is a ‘lord of war’, rendering all he accomplishes in all of the Neveah chronicles completely plausible and the character development is some of the greatest work I’ve ever seen.
There’s no ‘just one more chapter’ with this novel; it’s masterfully done in a way that as everything comes to a head for one group, it then cuts to the other before showing how it plays out. This book is best devoured; settle into a comfy spot and bring snacks.
“There are times in every leader’s life when one must weigh the values of one action against the other.”
While being completely epic, addictive, exciting and a bit terrifying because of extreme plausibility, this book also drops lots of wisdom. I absolutely recommend both parts of “The Journals of Solomon Roth” to readers of ALL genres.
“You cannot correct the mistakes of the past if you attempt to do the same thing in a different way.”
This a read that will never leave me, and one that I’ll revisit often, and crave in between visits.
