The dead are rising – and so is Mason's blood pressure.

An ancient threat has awakened. The long-dead paladin Roland wants his holy sword back, and Mason Albrecht is the man to find it. But instead of asking nicely, Roland raises the dead around the world. It’s an international undead incident!

The Lorica is on Mason's case, threatening confinement in their high-security Prism. Beelzebub, demon Prince of Gluttony, still wants a taste of nephilim flesh. Mason’s access to the Vestments is severed, stripping him of his arms and armor. And zombies walk the earth.

Mason Albrecht wishes he were dead.

Hi, I'm Nazri, a Filipino-Malaysian author based in California. I’m trilingual, but I really only write in English. I can also speak just enough Sindarin and Valyrian to impress absolutely no one. My urban fantasy novels focus on realistic heroes who use wits, style, and their wildly unpredictable magic to (try) and save the day. Think sass and class, while kicking ass.

My influences come from horror and fantasy: HP Lovecraft, Anne Rice, George R.R. Martin, Chuck Palahniuk, Terry Pratchett, and Neil Gaiman. Growing up I was shaped by the Blood Sword, Fighting Fantasy, Lone Wolf, and Grey Star game book universes. I'm also inspired by video games, specifically the Castlevania, Final Fantasy, and Persona series.

TL;DR: I'm a huge nerd. And yes, that's my real hair. I try to donate it to the American Cancer Society as often as I can. Also, have you heard? You can get a free book at www.NazriNoor.com.

Holy Hell - book 4 in the Sins of the Father series...
The long-dead Paladin Roland wants his holy sword back, and Mason Albrecht is the man to find it.
So Mason enlists some old friends to help battle an army of Zombies and retrieve said sword.
Nazri Noor is a fabulous story teller, the story's are fast paced full of action from start to finish, with a great cast of characters. I loved this.

>_>

I just want to say that if you love this author you’re probably going to love this series. I don’t know what’s wrong with me, I just haven’t connected to it like I have some of his other works. I can’t even pinpoint anything negative to say: the story was fun, I laughed, I got emotional, but it just wasn’t quite 4 stars for me.

An ancient threat has been awakened - the long-dead paladin Roland wants his holy sword back and has decided that Mason Albrecht is definitely the man to find it. He has decided to go for the extreme method of asking for it - he has raised the dead around the world until Mason returns his sword to him. That means that the Lorica is also on Mason's case and is threatening him with confinement in the high-security Prism. At the same time, Mason's access to the Vestments is severed and so he feels defenceless as he cannot access arms nor amour easily. The demon Prince of Gluttony (Beelzebub) also wants a piece of him and so his blood pressure is going through the roof. Can Mason handle all of these things at the same time or will the perfect storm signal the end of him?

This was definitely an action-packed story as Mason and his allies fought enemies on many fronts at the same time. Through it all Mason also had to learn new skills and use them in the field without any time to practice them. While at times anyone would have wished they were dead he kept on battling at finding new ways to achieve the desired result. Well written and very enjoyable. Easy to read and understand - I definitely felt the thoughts and emotions that he was going through and was thrilled when he finally managed to come out of the various situations intact. Definitely recommended. I'm already starting to wonder what he is going to get up to in the next book of the series.

In this fourth installment of Mason's adventures, revenants plague Valero, demanding the return of a sword. Meanwhile, Mason is locked out of the heavenly vault and must learn to rely on his other abilities to protect himself. A blast from the past reappears. So, it's pretty much the usual mayhem surrounding the gang.

Holy Hell is right!

I really enjoyed this installment in the series - I think it's my favourite so far. The world building is excellent, as always. The pacing is fast, with plentiful action laced with enough information and detail to keep me looped in. The character development is also excellent.

I felt that Mason is starting to show evidence of some maturing in this novel, which felt very organic to me. I really like the relationships between Mason and his friends. It was also nice to see some appearances from other characters in the universe.

This one really hit the spot for me, and I'm eager to see what comes next for the group.

I received an ARC via the author.

Mason and Florian are in a pickle once again. Roland an ancient dead paladin is after his sword...you know, one of the five. The five that was used to save the world and Mason has it. He has other problems though and one is the "angel of death" and the Lorica annnd the loss of his access to the vestments because of a debt. Not to forget to mention the zombies that keep accumulating that he and Florian have to kill. He needs help and who do you turn to? Friends of course. We get to see our old friends and who step up to help out and one person we had yet to meet that fills part of the emptiness in Mason's soul. Excellent read as always. Would recommend it to those who love fantasy and a great series.

Holy Hell: Sins of the Father Book Four really advances Mason’s story. After all, he is young and has a lot to learn so it is fun following him on his journey. The first line in the book alone reminds us of how young Mason is.
And a great collection of mythological beings make appearances, both friends and foes. I think that my favorites are Artemis and Priscilla.
Guess what! Samyaza has returned. I enjoyed reading the interactions between Mason and Samyaza.
This book is a great story of self-discovery, relationships and adventure. I cannot wait until the next story.

Another great novel from Nazri Noor. After a tentative start with the first of this series, I find I'm enjoying this series even more than the Darkling Mage books. The "does this make my bum look big?" conversation at the start of this is book is one of the funniest things I've read in a very long time. I won't comment on the plot as I don't want to spoil anything. This is yet another in the series which develops and expands the characters. Nazri tells a fun tale with interesting plotlines and likeable characters. He's rapidly moving into my list of favourite authors of urban legends.

Man Up

Mason is being hounded on all sides. Sadriel is hounding him about a variety of things. Raziel wants him to use more of his power of creation . A demon wants to torture him. An ancient knight wants his sword back. And, the icing on the cake, his father appears and wants to connect with him. Talk about problems! Mason is going to have to man up if he hopes to get a grip on his problems because they're not going anywhere.

Mason and crew are still tracking down the swords gone missing from the final battle in the Darkling Mage/Dustin books and I loved that a few of his friends from that series have shown up to help, as well as a very shocking return. The action and humor in these books are among the best in the series. And the audio narrator cracks me up every time he uses his Jack Nicholson voice for one of the characters.

Definitely worth the wait

I didn't realize how much I missed this series until I got into this book. All the familiar characters are back with a few much welcomed surprises. No spoilers but we get to find out what happened to a character we thought was gone. This story has all the action, laughs, and battle scenes we expect.

Fantastic urban fantasy

Mason is such a fun and flawed character. He’s growing by leaps and bounds. Nazri has weaved a tale with hilarity, interesting twists and heart. There are angels, good and somewhat bad. Pricilla the gorilla says a lot with grunts she certainly makes herself heard. Absolutely ready for the next book in Mason’s journey.

I am so happy to have Sam back! Plus Asher! Any Sterling is always great. As usual Mason is a whiny, bratty, oh-woe-is-me narcissist, but he admits it.
