A sweet second chance small-town Romance! Katie Ginger once again charmed me with this delightful story. Amelia believes she is living a happy life working as an interior designer in Paris. When she is summoned home two do something About the old farmhouse she has inherited from her aunt. Emilio‘s plan is to get the house into selling condition, sell it, and return to France. What she was not planning on was how welcoming the small town community was. She had never thought any of them thought anything of her one way or another. She is also surprise how strong her feelings still are for her first love Adam. I am sure you’re thinking,” OK I know where this is going” and you’d be right. Sort of. There is so much more to the story. Amelia also discovers that her aunt Vera who she never felt a connection to has a big secret that might explain a lot.

As in all Katie‘s books this was perfect escapism. The setting was delightful, the characters were colorful, the story was engaging, and the romance was sweet. I was seriously ready to pack my bags and move to a farm, sheep and all. Amelia was just such a likable character and I loved her and Adam together. I really understood why she left and I was glad to see her come to terms with some of the issues of her past. So grab your Diet Coke cuddle up with your pup and escape to this lovely small town.

Firstly, the cover of this book is truly beautiful. I felt enticed to enter Meadow Farmhouse and think the cover perfectly captures everything – it is exactly how I imagined this idyllic, peaceful setting. It’s a lovely story that is set in the quaint English countryside. I think the main thing that ruined my enjoyment of the story was the protagonist herself: I found Amelia selfish and rather ungrateful for everything that surrounds her.

Amelia arrives from her chic Paris apartment to Meadow Farmhouse. She has inherited it from her Aunt Vera with whom she has had an estranged relationship with. After losing both her parents as a child, Amelia’s Aunt Vera raised her – but with very few smiles and warmth. This has significantly affected Amelia and when the chance came for her to leave for university, Amelia did just that – without a backwards glance. Leaving behind a broken-hearted boyfriend, Amelia is reluctant to return to Meadow Farmhouse. Not only does it provoke memories of being raised by such a miserable woman who had few friends in the village, Amelia is also concerned about running into Adam. Memories she has buried under her “new life” experiences in Paris threaten Amelia’s judgement about where she is truly happy.

Although this book is about the mystery of Meadow Farmhouse, I don’t think the writer truly explores this. With the Prologue set in the past, I did wonder if this novel would have a dual-timeline narrative that would intensify the mystery of Amelia’s Aunt Vera. However, I do feel that the questions Amelia has were more of a side-story to the main plot. Instead, Ginger seems to focus more on Amelia’s emotional quandary and her renovations of the farmhouse, getting ready to sell it so she can return to Paris. This was the most disappointing element of the narrative as I was keen for more questions and enquiries into Aunt Vera’s locket and the mysterious photograph inside. I think Ginger could have elaborated more details in this sub-plot: either with flashbacks to Vera’s past or even more ambiguous items found in the Farmhouse.

With the lack of emphasis on the secrets, I think this makes it more of an average read about a woman who has broken a young man’s heart. The setting undoubtedly adds to the charm of the narrative but I feel it was quite similar to other books I have read in the past. I think Ginger needed to do more to make this stand out from other stories; the mystery of Aunt Vera would have achieved this. As such, I did not feel I had a spark with this narrative and, despite guessing Amelia’s final decisions quite early on, was hoping for more surprises along the way. Furthermore, I found Amelia’s attitude rather selfish and ungrateful. She has put up her emotional barriers as a result of her childhood and upbringing, but I think I was hoping that her experiences abroad would have matured her outlook more than what it has.

After reading the book, I was excited to see that this is the start of a series, with the next book being set in a library. Excitement! I hope Ginger is able to develop the next narrative further than what she has done here. There was so much potential to add to the mystery and questions that Amelia has and I think this could have added more layers to the plot.

Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy the sweetness of the novel. The characters in this story are all very pleasant and I think they make a great potential for being the basis of the series. It was a sweet, summer romance story and I think the change that Amelia undergoes is definitely well-needed! I just wish there had been more mystery and less Amelia in the plot.

With thanks to HQ Digital, NetGalley and Rachel’s Random Resources for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first Katie Ginger book I have read, but it won’t be the last. A perfect escape into the country, filled with nature, new friendship, old love, family secrets and a sense of belonging. I enjoyed the reconnection between Amelia and Adam after 10 years apart. One thing I loved most was the way Meadowbank pulled together when Amelia was sick. The whole Meadowbank community look after each other and this is something Amelia didn’t realised till she returned. Beautiful, warm and a smile didn’t leave my lips at all the gorgeous descriptions. Would definitely recommend.

A story of second chances, new beginnings, forgiveness, and love, The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse is a wonderful and charming novel. The story follows Amelia, an interior designer who has a successful and productive life in Paris. When Amelia learns that her aunt Vera died and left Amelia Meadow Farmhouse, Amelia reluctantly returns to her childhood home to prepare it for sale.

Amelia is unprepared for the range of emotions she experiences upon her return to Meadow Farmhouse, especially considering she hasn’t returned or spoken to her aunt in over a decade. Sure that she won’t be remembered since she never felt like she belonged, Amelia is stunned when she is welcomed into the community. As she fixes up the farmhouse, Amelia reconnects with the townspeople and faces the pain of her past. She also revisits her unchanged feelings for Adam, the love she left behind. When the mystery of her aunt’s past arises, Amelia realizes that things aren’t always what they seem.

What happened to Vera to make her such a hard and cold woman? Can Amelia reconcile her past and embrace the opportunity for a second-chance in Meadowbank? And will she admit how much she really cares for Adam? Will Adam forgive Amelie for leaving?

I absolutely loved this story! Ginger has created a dynamic setting and cast of characters that add so much to this wonderful story. From comical scenes trying to usher chickens into their pens to scenes where Amelia is overwhelmed by her meddlesome but well-meaning neighbors, the story left me laughing and moved so many times! One of my favorite scenes occurs when Amelia thinks there is an intruder in her house, and she comes out armed with a toilet bowl cleaner. Adam’s mother, who has come with Adam to help care for the ill Amelia says, “What did you think you’d do with this? Un-hygiene them to death?” It’s such a funny quip, but underneath the humor, this is a touching scene that shows how much Adam and his mother care for Amelia.

Amelia is a wonderful protagonist, and I enjoyed her character growth. Now that she’s older, more reflective, and a bit distanced from her childhood she sees things differently and recognizes the small things done to make her feel loved. She is more willing and able to see things from other people’s perspectives, and her views change as she reflects on her time at Meadow Farmhouse and Vera’s story. I love that Amelia takes the time to understand Vera, which is something she never did before.

Vera’s story, as well as her parents, is as interesting as Amelia’s, and I love how the secrets of Vera’s past unfold as the story progresses. It seems like the more Amelia learns about Vera’s painful past, the more she understands herself. This exploration also allows Amelia to explore her conflicting and complex feelings and forgive herself and others.

Amelia also reevaluates her priorities, what she needs, and what makes her happy, and coming home to Meadow Farmhouse helps her see what she values most. Meadowbank is therapeutic for Amelia, and it is here where she can finally begin to grieve and heal from the wounds of her past. It is also where she can face the present and figure out what (and who) she wants in her future.

The small and charming town of Meadowbank is delightful. In Meadowbank, Amelia is surrounded by a strong sense of family and community. Having people care for you and know you and accept you no matter what is something she hasn’t had but has been searching for. She Amelia wants to belong but has never felt like she fit in anywhere until she returns to Meadowbank. The only place she ever felt like she belonged was when she was with Adam, and Amelia often felt undeserving of his time and attention.

I love the second-chance romance between Adam and Amelia! Both characters must face their feelings about the past and the possibility of a future together, which proves difficult. Adam must learn to forgive, understand, and trust. Amelia has to learn to let people in and embrace love. This is something that I really like about the story – there are many messages about love, like loving oneself, embracing a second chance at love, accepting the love of a community, and understanding that people show love differently. I think many of the characters go through revelations about life and love, and these revelations are relatable and universal.

When you finish the novel, be sure to read the acknowledgments! There’s a story about the inspiration behind the story that is so interesting and relates to Ginger’s life. It’s so fascinating to see where authors get their inspiration from, especially for wonderful reads like this! Thanks so much to Katie Ginger and Rachel’s Random Resources for a copy of the book in exchange for my honest review.

This is an emotive, heartwarming second chance romance and a delightful story to escape into.

After being orphaned, Amelia was brought up by her Great Aunt Vera in the village of Meadowbank. They had a huge fall out when she went to University, then went to live in Paris where she worked as an Interior designer. It is ten years later that Amelia returns after inheriting her childhood home. In the old farmhouse she discovers a beautiful locket with intriguing photographs. This sparks her search for information about Great Aunt as she is welcomed home by the local community and reconnects with her first love. Can she discover the secrets of Meadow Farmhouse?

This is a lovely story of discovering more about yourself and your family. It is one filled with drama, secrets and love where the initially perceived motivations of others prove untrue and love helps find a way to a HEA with true friends, a caring community and a second chance romance. It is a moving story, made even more so when you read the acknowledgements and discover the author's inspiration behind writing this book and that this is the first book in a new series. I can't wait to read the sequel! I have no hesitation in highly recommending this pleasurable, entertaining and intriguing book.

Thank you to HQ Digital and NetGalley for my copy of this book which I have voluntarily read, thoroughly enjoyed and honestly reviewed.

This is the second book I’ve read of Katie Ginger’s and I’ve loved them both. How gorgeous is this cover? It drew me in immediately and I couldn’t wait to discover what secrets were hiding at Meadow Farmhouse.

Amelia has a successful business and a happy life in Paris; a world away from the village of Meadowbank where she was brought up by her Great-Aunt Vera who made it clear that the role of ‘parent’ was not one she took to willingly. With little contact between them for years and their last exchange an unpleasant one, Amelia is surprised to hear that Vera has passed away and has left her home – Meadow Farmhouse – to Amelia.

Her plan is to travel back to the farmhouse, clear it out, put it on the market, and return to Paris. Quickly. The farmhouse means nothing to her and neither does the village. She never felt she belonged and she doubts anyone will remember who she is, especially her former flame Adam.

I do love a return to the roots/second chance at love story and Katie Ginger does this brilliantly in The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse. Throw in the mystery as to why there’s nothing personal in Vera’s home except a locket containing a photo of a WWII soldier and there’s lots of intrigue in this story as well as the will they/won’t they romance.

A warm, uplifting story of discovering where you truly belong. A beautiful setting and fabulous cast of characters. And it looks like it’s the start of a new series which is very exciting. Already looking forward to my return to Meadowbank.

I was granted access to an early review copy of this book via NetGalley which has not in any way influenced or biased my opinions.

I was kindly #gifted this book by @hqstories in exchange for an honest review. This is a very easy review to write. I absolutely loved it! It is a very “me” book, the cover and the synopsis sold me. I loved Amelia and her story and how it developed. This was a book about love, community and friendship. All the things that are important right now! This book was the perfect book to get me out of a reading slump and I devoured it in two days. I want more of Amelia and Adam. Yes it was predictable but sometimes you just need that in your life ( I know I do) I will definitely be reading more from this author in the very near future. I adored her writing style. I 100% recommend this book if you are looking for an easy, light hearted read.

The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse is a beautiful emotive read, that will take the reader on a voyage of discovery uncovering long-held family secrets and enabling the main character, Amelia to come to terms with events and people in her life.

Amelia lives in Paris but is returning home to the village of Meadowbank following the death of her estranged Great Aunt Vera. Amelia was raised by her great aunt but they parted on bad terms ten years ago. Amelia hasn’t been back since, however, she gradually develops a sense of home, place, and a feeling of belonging as she comes to terms with her upbringing and losses.

Packed with interesting and vivid characters, including Amelia's first love, Adam, this was a beautifully written, humorous story of love, friendship, dreams, acceptance, secrets, forgiveness, and making decisions. It has a lovely feel in terms of the locale and a strong sense of community. Dashes of sparkling romance kept things fizzing and everything was wrapped up very nicely in the end. A wonderful read with a fresh spring feel, this is a book that I will certainly be recommending to friends and family.

I received a complimentary copy of this novel at my request from HQ Digital via NetGalley. This review is my own unbiased opinion.

The wonderful Katie Ginger has done it again, she has created this wonderful world that transports you and makes you feel part of it. I felt like I was with Amelia the whole time and loved the descriptions throughout of Meadow Farmhouse and the surrounding village.

In this book Katie literally describes my dream home and I was totally swept along as we got to know Amelia and learn how she had come to be living her dream life and job in Paris after a rocky start in her childhood. As you get to know Amelia's history, you also gain an insight into Vera and what led to her being the cold Great Aunt who influenced so much of Amelia's life.

A story that lifts your spirit especially when it's so easy to feel disheartened right now, I laughed, cringed and it left me with a tear in my eye.

I have been a fan of Katie’s work for a while now. I haven’t quite caught up with everything that she has written but then I am getting there. I read the synopsis for ‘The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse’ and it certainly sounded like another heart warming read from Katie and I couldn’t wait to get started. So without further ado, I grabbed a cup of tea, grabbed my Kindle and settled down for an afternoon of reading heaven. I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse’ but more about that in a bit.
I loved the characters of Vera and Amelia and I warmed to them from the start. Vera is the great aunt of Amelia and when the story starts, Vera is a young girl, who is hoping to marry her sweetheart. Things don’t exactly go to plan for Vera. I got the distinct impression that young Vera is the total opposite to the Great Aunt Vera that Amelia lived with. The Vera that Amelia knew, was a bit of a cold fish, very distant and not very affectionate. Amelia went to live with her Great Aunt Vera following the death of Amelia’s parents. Amelia didn’t have the easiest of times with her Aunt and with her new home. Amelia left her Aunt’s home and moved to Paris, where she has established a new life for herself. Amelia returns to her old life after her Aunt dies and she ends up going back to Meadow Farmhouse to sort out Vera’s estate.
For me, ‘The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse’ was a bit slow to get going and as a result I found it hard to get into the story at first. Once the story got going that was it and I was away. I became so engrossed in the story that I managed to shut out all other distractions so my focus was solely on the book. I was intrigued by Vera’s and by Amelia’s story and I had to keep reading to see if I was on the right track or if I had the wrong end of the stick entirely. I was also desperate to find out if things worked out for them both in the end. The more of the book I read, the more I wanted to read and the quicker the pages seemed to turn. Then all too quickly I reached the end of ‘The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse’ and I had to bid farewell to Vera and Amelia.
‘The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse’ is well written. Katie certainly knows how to grab your attention and draw you into what proves to be a compelling read. The story isn’t particularly fast paced but looking back, a gentler pace actually suits the story as it means you get to know the characters and you get to know why they are the way they are. Katie has the knack of making the reader feel as though they are part of the story themselves. That’s how I felt at any rate. Katie uses such vivid and realistic descriptions that she made Meadow Farmhouse and the surrounding area come alive. I found ‘The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse’ to be an intriguing, charming and overall heart warming read.
In short, I thoroughly enjoyed reading ‘The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse’ and I would recommend it to other readers. I will certainly be reading more of Katie’s work in the future. The score on the Ginger Book Geek board is a very well deserved 5* out of 5*.

What a beautiful, well written book that stayed with me for a long time after finishing it. Katie Ginger has created a fabulous story here. It is a really lovely book to lose yourself in, perfect for a winter's evening or a beach read where you can float away to the village of Meadowbank. The descriptions of Meadow Farmhouse to which Amelia returns after Paris are both endearing as well as having the ability to conjure up wonderful pictures of the farmhouse.
Katie introduces us to the character of Vera back in 1959. It's a short chapter, a prologue, but enough to whet our appetite to know why the giggly girl we first meet become the cold stern Aunt Vera of later years. It really makes you want to read the whole thing in one go to discover, now that she's died, what exactly was the reason for the young man's inability to marry her.
Amelia plays a great part, discovering past history and returning to Meadowbank and Adam, ten years on.
Katie writes really beautifully. One example is : 'I get the feeling, Vera,' she said to the air,'that you should have more personal stuff for a life of nearly eighty years. It's like yo existed rather than lived...' Great stuff. Great writing.
Loved it!! Five fabulous big fat sparklers from me!!

Amelia has a settled life in Paris but when she hears the news that she has received a surprise inheritance, she needs to return to Meadow Farm, a place which holds bittersweet memories of her time growing up there with her taciturn, great-aunt Vera. Amelia's rather chic Parisian lifestyle finds her unprepared for the warmth of welcome she receives from the villagers of Meadowbank, but as they welcome Amelia back into the fold, so she must confront her own thoughts and feelings about why she hasn't been back to Meadow Farmhouse in over ten years.

The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse is a beautifully descriptive story about life in a small English village. There's a nice element of mystery, a 'will they, won't they rekindling of romance, and a cast of quirky villagers whose hearts of gold, and occasional sharp tongues, really bring the story to life.

Amelia's slow progress with the farmhouse, and her indecision about selling the property and moving back to Paris, is one of the dilemma's she faces but there's also a mystery to solve before Amelia can make up her mind about her future. Confronting the past is a theme which runs throughout the story for not only is Amelia uncovering secrets from long ago but she is also looking at her own troubled past, and most particularly her relationship with Adam, her first love, who holds a special place in her heart, and who still lives in Meadowbank village.

The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse is perfect escapism for a rainy afternoon, beautifully written by an author who writes with such consummate ease, and who brings time, place and people so vividly to life that they leap off the page and into your heart. I do hope that this is not the first visit we make to Meadowbank, as I am sure there are lots more lovely stories to be told about this quintessential English village.

The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse by Katie Ginger has Amelia returning from Paris to renovate her late Great Aunt Vera's house, which she's inherited.

Amelia was last in the village of MeadowBank just before she left for university, and ten years later, there's been a lot of change in some ways, but not in others.

Amelia wants to find out more about her Great Aunt Vera, and why she was so cold to Amelia and along the way she might find out what matters to her.

I really enjoyed this book - there were great characters, a lovely village and mysteries that were unravelled along the way.

I always know with a Katie Ginger book that I am going to have a warm, enjoyable read and it was true for this one as well. The setting is gorgeous. A rather broken- down farmhouse situated in the midst of the countryside and near a caring community. Of course, Amelia didn't realise quite what a gem the community was, at first. She has run to Paris after University and turned her back on her great aunt and her friends. At first, her harsh memories blind her to certain truths. However, the more she finds out about the past, the more she begins to understand why her aunt seemed so distant at times.

Adam is a great central male figure and one you take to from the start. Of course, he has a lot of unresolved anger towards Amelia to sort out. Family and friendship are both featured throughout the story as Amelia starts to contrast her friends in Paris with the people she meets back in the village. This is a heart-warming read which welcomes you in.

In short: You can't escape your past

A heartwarming, feel-good second chance romance.

Amelia and Adam are adorably awkward with each other after not seeing one another for ten years and I couldn't help but smile with all their blushing during their brief interactions. I laughed at her Facebook faux pas and I could just imagine how embarrassed she was about it. Their relationship was very relatable especially for anyone who has ever left home for university and found work away from home. I couldn't wait to see Amelia make the decision not to go back to Paris.

The close-knit community of the village was very endearing and charming. Everybody knows everyone else's business but at the same time, they rally round each other when times are not so good. It just gave a lovely atmosphere to the setting and juxtaposed nicely with Amelia's life in Paris.

The mystery surrounding Vera's past was very poignant and I found the historical detail very interesting. I could imagine that something similar could have easily happened here during the second world war as American servicemen spent some time socialising in Moville while they were stationed in nearby Derry.

The Secret of Meadow Farmhouse is a darling of a story and I loved every minute of it.

What drew me into The Secrets Of Meadow Farmhouse was the cover, it is everything I love in a book.
Amelia is a interior designer and lives in Paris, when her Aunt Vera dies and leaves her Meadow Farmhouse she returns to sell it.
Adam has been nursing a broken heart since Amelia left for university 10 years ago and never returned, as Amelia comes back to the village she discovers there are secrets in her family she wants to learn more about and with Adams help they try to solve her family mysteries.
A lovely warm story of friendships old and new set in a lovely little village full of community spirit. A very enjoyable read.

The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse was such a beautiful story that kept getting better and better....and the acknowledgements at the end just brought another tear to my eye.

When Amelia returns to Meadowbank it soon becomes clear that she had majorly underestimated the effect it had had on people when she had left 10 years ago.
Amelia is determined to cut ties and escape her unsettled past once and for all but she is drawn in by the charm of forgotten memories and the uncertainty of rekindled love.
Putting together the pieces of her broken heart and misunderstood relationships, she can finally put a lifetime of grieving to rest.

Funny and sad, this story explores a whole host of different emotions. Amelia is a wonderful protagonist; successful yet flawed, self assured yet vulnerable.

I’ve read many of Katie’s books and have loved them all. The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse didn’t disappoint at all. It is the story of Amelia and her estranged relationship with her late Great Aunt Vera. Amelia returns from Paris, leaving behind her friend Oceane to sort out the farmhouse which holds such sad memories, she is faced with the daunting task of clearing and selling the property before she is able to return to Paris and pick up her Interior Design business where she left it. Once back in Meadow Farmhouse discoveries are made which explain why the house wasn’t a happy loving home. A beautifully written story.

All old houses have secrets, and Meadow Farmhouse is no different. When Amelia returns to her childhood home to sort out her unexpected inheritance, she finds a clue to her great-aunt's past. Her childhood was not a happy one, but back at the place where she grew up, she is determined to evaluate her life and finding out why Vera seemed incapable of love is a part of this. Solving the mystery of Vera's past adds depth to this story.

Amelia's journey of self-discovery catalysed by returning home to Meadow Farm is an emotional one. Adam, her first love, is still in the village. The rekindling of their friendship, and the sparks of something more, add a believable touch of romance.

The villagers are an interesting mix of characters that populate a quintessential English village. They add gossip, humour and vibrancy to the story and make it authentic. Gentle pacing reflects village life.

This is an engaging story that immerses you in the details of village life and life choices, perfect escapist reading.

Having previously enjoyed Katie Ginger's books I was excited to start this one and I wasn't disappointed and I think this one is my favourite so far.

Amelia enjoys her life as an interior designer in Paris or is it all just a mask to forget her heartbreaking past? She returns to her childhood home having inherited it from the aunt who brought her up with the intention of doing it up, selling it and returning to life in Paris.

An enjoyable easy read and I can't wait to return to Meadowbank again.

The Secrets of Meadow Farmhouse

By Katie Ginger

4/5 ⭐️

What an absolutely lovely book.
It tells the story of Amelia, a big time interior designer in Paris, who has been called back to the small village in Kent where she grew up and the elusive story of her stern late Aunt Vera and a mysterious soldier whose portrait Amelia discovered in a locket. If this wasn’t enough, there’s the presence of her first love, the artistic Adam whose heart she shattered when she left without goodbye.

The first half of this book felt very slow - not boring by any means, but really cosy and relaxing to read. I felt this half of the book really reflected the pace of life in the village and though I wasn’t racing through it it was a pleasure to read and become acquainted with. From about 40% onwards the pace picked up dramatically and I couldn’t put it down and read the rest in one sitting. I love history and have been looking into my own family history over the past few weeks so this was so fascinating to me. I had tears in my eyes by the end, and then reading the authors note felt even more emotional finding out it was based on the authors grandparents.

I really really enjoyed this book, and not only will I check out the other books in this series when it comes out but I will be reading more of this authors works.

Amelia loves her life in Paris. But with the surprise inheritance of her childhood home, she has no choice but to return to the small village of Meadowbank to restore her great-aunt’s old farmhouse.
However returning to Meadowbank means she has to confront her past, including old flame Adam – the one person she regrets leaving behind.
When Amelia discovers a locket hidden in the farmhouse, containing the picture of a mysterious World War Two soldier, she starts to uncover the secrets of her great-aunt’s past. With Adam on hand to help restore the farmhouse, she’s shocked by his generosity after so many years apart.
As her feelings for her first love reignite, Amelia is suddenly confused as to where she truly belongs.
Can Amelia finally find where her heart truly calls home?
Well, i devoured this book! I loved it!! I loved the fact that the characters had to reflect on their parts, i loved the community spirit v the anonymity of Paris. I loved that she questioned her friendships and whether they were symbiotic (turns out not so much!) Throw that all together with an Aunt who kept a painful secret for too many years and a Helicopter mum and a blissful couple of hours awaits you as you step into Amelias world. x

What a wonderfully, wistful story.
The characters felt like friends I had known for years, the place felt like it was my home town and I became completely immersed into the book. Katie Ginger has a great way of story telling and she never disappoints.
Loved every page

Oh my goodness. I loved this book, I was hooked from the offset. We didn’t went to put it down once I started.
I loved Amelia and was rooting for her to realise her roots were not in Paris. I loved the friendship she made in the village with the doctors wife.
I was so happy she didn’t get to Sean back into her village life and had to work for it.
Adam seemed like such a nice guy and to realise that Amelias past traumas had affected her relationship made him a keeper in my eyes.
Katie is quickly becoming my favourite author. She writes about genuine emotions and the books are lovely.

Me and my cozy reads. I enjoyed this one particularly for the character development, however mild it was and it weirdly made me ever-so-weepy for the things I lacked in my own childhood. Sigh.

I needed a little break from reading all the thrillers so picked this one to read to break it up a little. This was the perfect escape, Amelia is living in Paris and living her best life until she is surprised when she discovers she has inherited her childhood home Meadow farmhouse, even though she is not keen to return, return she must. She moved away for a reason and will that reason come back to haunt her? she is met with a few unfriendly villagers but actually finds solace in one villager who doesn't know her aswell as the others do. Amelia has to get the farmhouse looking in top top shape if there is any chance of selling it, but she unearths some interesting things and looks deeper into her history. What will she discover? also she meets with her childhood friend/boyfriend at the time, will love bloom once again? this is a warm hearted easy read that you can escape to.
