”The notion of Ellie sleeping with another man sent a wash of fury into his blood. He didn’t understand it. He wasn’t a jealous man. Not until now.”
”With her plump, milk-white breasts and that round feminine behind, she was sexy as hell.”
”She had slender hips, but the kind of round, sexy behind that drew a man’s attention. He cursed the heat that slid into his groin as he followed her trail and walked up beside her.”
”He wanted Heather’s killer even more than he wanted hot, erotic sex with Ellie Bowman. But not by much.At times, it felt like I was reading a bodice ripper romance from the 1970s or 1980s instead of the 2020s. The writing and the characters, while in a modern setting, had the values and characteristics of those often misogynistic and toxic bodice rippers our mothers and grandmothers used to read back in the day. You can’t deny the covers were a sight to behold, though. The males were all alpha and the females were all submissive. That especially surprised me when it came to Eleanor Bowman, the female main character.
