I enjoyed this book.
Would I have enjoyed it more with Ripper?
Yes definitely yes.
Kyle has grown on me. If you’d asked me half way into the first book if I’d willing read his book I would have said no. But he’s grown up and grown on me. This proved to be an interesting read. Yes I missed Ripper but who wouldn’t?
Kyle returns to his hometown to check on his family. What’s supposed to be a quick visit turns longer as Kyle finds Sunny (his best friend’s sister) and gets involved in her life.
Now I’m just waiting for Bear’s book Cataclysm.

Sunny has been struggling to survive in post-apocalypse Boise, Idaho. She’s buried her friends and family and drives around in a bread box of a van named Daisy. Sunny is just like her name says, she’s upbeat, sweet, helpful, positive, naive, unaware, and yes, a virgin. Sunny has has had a crush on her older brother’s friend Kyle forever. If you’ve read the first two books, you know the backstory, if not, this book gives a brief recap.
I wanted to like this book so much. I really enjoyed the first two, Kenzie and Ripper were so fun to read. It took me a long time to get invested in this story, and then around the 50% mark it started to take off. Lots of action, fighting bad guys, and some steamy lovins with our main characters.
It was really hard to see Kyle as a hero when he was a whiny, preppy college boy in the last books. I mean, Ripper is a TOUGH act to follow. It could have simply been the wrong book at the wrong time for me, but every time Kyle says “What would Ripper do?” or “I wish Ripper were here.” I thought, yup, me too Kyle.
I love this kind of story, but I couldn’t get past the Kyle I knew from the previous books. I will continue this series, because more Ripper and Kenzie!

Kyle and Sunny find each other during a time when losing someone is the norm. Now they have to turn childhood friendship into adult love.
Susanna Strom continues the World Fallen series with a third successful standalone sci-fi thriller. Strom consistently maintains the series continuity. The action is again revealed through the alternating viewpoints of the major characters with appropriate chapter headers. The romance between Kyle and Sunny is new, but we’re updated on the previous couples. The romances are well-developed and vibrant. The action in this story story is also overly drawn out, but is interesting. Future storylines are introduced, and I plan to read the next book in the series. Overall, I enjoyed Bedlam and give it 3 out of 5 stars. I recommend this installment to readers of sci-fi romance.

I had the chance to read and review the first two books in this World Fallen series and fell in love with the characters and post-apocalyptic world they're learning to survive in. Kyle Chamberlain wasn't my favorite character in the first two books. Seemingly weak in Pandemonium (especially compared to Ripper), and bitterly jealous over Kenzie's new relationship, he's grown throughout the series and now he gets his own story. After having fought alongside his friends to return Valhalla ranch to the safe haven they so desperately need, Kyle finally has a chance to return home to Boise and see how his family fared through the pandemic. But as he searches his old neighborhood for family and friends, he's met with nothing but tragedy and loss. Until he reaches the home of his childhood best friend and finds Jake's sister still alive.

Bedlam is a fantastic continuation of the World Fallen series. There were familiar characters and a whole new crew was introduced, too. Susanna Strom is quickly becoming one of my all-time favorites!
There is a lot of action in this book, which really holds my attention. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. There is a great balance of action and romance as we follow Kyle on his journey to Boise and beyond. At first glance, there seems to be black and white but as the story progresses, the shades of gray are revealed and true colors are shown. Strom does a wonderful job finding the balance between glossing over details and focusing on minutiae, giving enough to make the world feel real without it detracting from the story.
I can't wait for the fourth book!

I am always excited to be back in this apocalyptic world Strom has created. I just want to roll around in it. Become a part of it. It truly is an amazing series. Each book wonderful, engaging, and impactful in it’s own right.
For the most part, life has been good for Sunny since the pandemic started. And for a pandemic, she has led a relatively normal life without trouble. Thankfully Kyle shows up when he does, because trouble just landed on her doorstep in the form of a truce that has gone sour.
I liked Kyle in the first 2 books. It took some time, but he finally grew on me and I enjoyed his character. But I loved him in BEDLAM. He showed up and showed out like a knight in shining armor on a white steed. (Or a really handsome Hunk, wielding a gun, driving a Valhalla ranch truck). Same difference in my opinion.
Sunny is a beautiful soul whose personality is as bright as her namesake. While a bit naive to this new world and the evil that resides in it, she learns pretty quickly that it does exist and it just took up residence in her town. But even so, she doesn’t let this new knowledge dim her light. And that had me immediately loving her.
Fantastic story that brings things together. Even family. Because when the world is quickly killed off, family is not a luxury many see. More than likely, everyone you know is dead. Strom did another amazing job with this wonderful, well written book and had my heart in my throat in several scenes. Between the anticipation for what they would stumble upon next and a romance that burned brightly, this book gets all the stars! 5 Stars!

Kyle Goes To Boise
I’d probably give this book 4.5 ⭐️ if I could.
This is the third book in a continuing series. This book deals with a separate couple from the first two books, but the story follows immediately after the second book and deals with a character who is in the first two books.
Kyle is MacKenzie’s ex-boyfriend who came back to Portland to be with her after their friends died en route to Boise. In the first two books, he was a bit spoilt and used to being the golden boy of his family, school and college. Essentially he was a good guy, but totally out of touch with reality. During the course of the first two books, he learnt about the real world and was put in some very difficult situations that forced him to become more ruthless and much stronger mentally and emotionally. It’s still left him with nightmares, but he’s a better man for it.
After reaching Valhalla, Kyle decides he needs to return to Boise to see what happened to his family. He returns home to find a dead family and after burying them plans to return back to Valhalla. When he spots lights moving around in his best friend’s house he finds his best friend’s little sister, Sunny.
Sunny is the last person in her gated community left. She tries to remain hidden at night and during the days she is a scavenger for HAVEN the hub where the survivors pool resources and get help. She’s particularly close to Mrs B, a woman in her 80s who’s very fond of Jaffa cakes (something close to my British heart). When she meets Kyle again and he tries to get her to come back to Valhalla, she decides to show her teenage crush the people she helps every day. Torn between their conflicting desires and a determined need to stay together they spend time getting to know each other again.
This book brings more people into the story. It develops the plot, adding conflict and a bigger enemy to defeat. It also introduces new allies and people who become family. As in the previous books, there is violence and death. It also doesn’t shy away from the emotional and mental consequences of taking a life. I appreciate this in a dystopian novel which often skirts over the impact of being forced to act in a way contrary to morals from the time before civilisation disintegrates.
There are a lot of moving parts to the plot for this series and this book brings different ingredients to the storyline, with new people and different approaches to handling the changes in the world. As with the previous books the story is gripping. It’s got drama, passion and love for family, friends and lovers. It’s a great book and I can’t wait to see what happens in the next one.

4.5 stars!
I read the other books in this series just after they released and absolutely loved them! I was eagerly anticipating this book releasing and grabbed a copy as soon as it did! I made it my next read, and after reading, I can say that I loved this book a lot! It had the same vibe as the other books, which I loved, and it only took me a few sittings to read! I tried to take my time reading it to make it last longer, but I couldn't resist reading a few more chapters every chance I had lol! The plot developed at the perfect pace and it kept me desperate to read on and find out what was going to happen next! There was a lot of romance in the plot and I loved the way it developed and that it allowed for a few seriously hot scenes! There was some action and suspense in the plot as well, which added to it and made me enjoy it more! I will admit that I preferred the first two books in this series to this one because I felt like there was more in the plot, but this book was a brilliant addition to the series and set up the next book very well! The characters were also amazing and made this book even better! Sunny was the main female character, and I loved her in this book! She looked after the ones around her as best she could and she wanted to keep them safe! Sunny also tried her best, but I do think she made some decisions that changed the plot and I do think she regretted some of them! I also loved Sunny's enthusiasm and how caring she was! Kyle was the main male character and love interest of Sunny! Kyle was a secondary character in the first two books, so I was really excited that this book was going to be his! I loved Kyle in this book! He took control when he needed to and wanted to keep those around him safe! He was also very protective of Sunny and wanted her to be in a safe place! It was easy to see that Kyle loved Sunny and I adored them as a couple! I loved that this book was written from both Sunny and Kyle's point of views! I was hoping that it was going to be before I started reading and the synopsis kind of gives the impression that it's going to be! I loved that it was because it helped me connect with Sunny and Kyle and see their feelings for each other develop and see how they were dealing with everything! It allowed for more things to happen in the plot as well, which helped as the main characters did go through some situations by themselves! I'm really happy that there's going to be another book in this series! I honestly wasn't sure if there was going to be, and then I found out at the end that there is going to be another book! I know that the next book is going to focus on two secondary characters in this series and this has me really excited for it! I can't find any information on the next book like a release date, but I'll definitely be anticipating its release and reading it as soon as it does! The cover for this book is also seriously hot! I loved it as soon as I saw it and how well it suits the other covers in the series! It really suits the feel of the book and the cover model is also the perfect Kyle!

Ok my reading peeps, new author for you to stalk…err follow. Have you ever read a book so good that an author gave you that you felt you should be giving them something too…yeah, this book was like that for me. The author asked me to read this book, she said her editor pointed her in my direction. This is an instance where I feel like I should be giving them something for getting to read a fantastic book, and finding an equally fantastic author. So, thank you both, and sending two virtual fruit baskets….they’ll be in this review.
There was a massive and quick spreading flu that leaves over ¾ of the people gone within months of the start of it. Leaving a new apocalyptic dystopian world in its place, and everyone in it to find their own way, trying to exist in this new world. This is the third book in the series, going into the power struggles of the new world, the good guys, and the not so good guys. Sunny has been in Boise helping out at Haven, which is a refuge to help survivors, and Kyle comes back to Boise to see if any of his family made it, when he finds Sunny again. She’s the little sister of his best friend, and the last of her family. Once these two find each other…that’s where the story really takes quite a few turns. Wow, such a fantastic read, I can’t say enough wonderful things about it. To say that I’m impressed is a severe understatement, this looks to be the author’s third book, and I am blown away by her writing….hence the virtual fruit baskets.
This book was so good, great storyline, all the emotions, suspense, even some funny moments. This book had it all, and just well written. Great storyline, action, suspense, twist and turns. Safe read, with wonderful, loving and strong characters. This book wraps up this couple, and I felt they got their hea, well as much of an hea that you can have in an apocalyptic new worId. I cannot wait for the next book in this series. Next book please.

Bedlam is the third book in this series, and it can be read as a standalone. If you have read the first two books then you are familiar with the hero here, Kyle.
Kyle has been a bit of a weaker character in the first two stories but not in a negative way, just in a way where he needed to learn to adjust to the new world and the rules within. He was what I could have considered a selfish jock but with a heart underneath it all.
In this story, Kyle travels to his old neighborhood to find his best friend only to find his best friend’s sister, Sunny. Sunny has been I love with Kyle for a while and this becomes her chance, among the chaos of this new life.
What I loved about this story, besides being a sucker for siblings’ best friends’ stories, is that Kyle really comes into his own within these pages. He sheds his immature outer layer and becomes the man I knew he was deep down, and that is majorly to do with Sunny. Sunny is just what her name implies, she is bright and caring and loving and positive (even when these are dire) and she really balances out Kyle and his disparaging personality, but she also does that for every other character as well as the reader. She is a pleasure to get to know.
Now, this isn’t any different from the first two stories in terms of post-apocalyptic terms. There is still a lot of craziness that the characters must get thought, tough times, complex decisions and the like. What I loved about this entire series and in this book once again, is the author sticks to a story line that feels and reads very realistic. I love that I can look out my window and imagine that if this current world gets any more catastrophic then this entire story comes to life (though I will admit that is also scary, LOL).
Part action, part romance, part hopeful and determined this story is another hit that I couldn’t help but fall in love with from the first chapter. Each of these stories and this one (because I had my issues with Kyle in past books and he redeemed himself in my eye in this story) has become a must read, addictive and favorites for me. I instantly buy these in paperback and get ready for a ride, five stars.
Kyle has been a bit of a weaker character in the first two stories but not in a negative way, just in a way where he needed to learn to adjust to the new world and the rules within. He was what I could have considered a selfish jock but with a heart underneath it all.
In this story, Kyle travels to his old neighborhood to find his best friend only to find his best friend’s sister, Sunny. Sunny has been I love with Kyle for a while and this becomes her chance, among the chaos of this new life.
What I loved about this story, besides being a sucker for siblings’ best friends’ stories, is that Kyle really comes into his own within these pages. He sheds his immature outer layer and becomes the man I knew he was deep down, and that is majorly to do with Sunny. Sunny is just what her name implies, she is bright and caring and loving and positive (even when these are dire) and she really balances out Kyle and his disparaging personality, but she also does that for every other character as well as the reader. She is a pleasure to get to know.
Now, this isn’t any different from the first two stories in terms of post-apocalyptic terms. There is still a lot of craziness that the characters must get thought, tough times, complex decisions and the like. What I loved about this entire series and in this book once again, is the author sticks to a story line that feels and reads very realistic. I love that I can look out my window and imagine that if this current world gets any more catastrophic then this entire story comes to life (though I will admit that is also scary, LOL).
Part action, part romance, part hopeful and determined this story is another hit that I couldn’t help but fall in love with from the first chapter. Each of these stories and this one (because I had my issues with Kyle in past books and he redeemed himself in my eye in this story) has become a must read, addictive and favorites for me. I instantly buy these in paperback and get ready for a ride, five stars.

I tend to have a hard time resisting apocalyptic stories. It’s the potential of the ‘What if’ that draws me in, and I like discovering what authors come up with. I do have to admit, with the current times, this series hits a little too close to home. Although, it does put an interesting spin-on what could have happened. That said, Bedlam was a good book and while not a horrifying medical thriller, you could certainly wedge it in the things that make you go hmmm category.
Quick recap: In a pandemic world, Sunny is doing what she can to help others survive in her hometown. Her older brother’s best friend, and her childhood crush, returns to town to see if his family has survived and runs into Sunny. To do right by his friend, Kyle is determined to protect Sunny and take her back to safety where he has made his new home. A new faction comes into town at the same time presenting promises to help so long as the join forces. Deals that sound too good to be true usually are and come with prices…ones that Kyle and Sunny must decide if they are willing to pay the price.
On the whole, Bedlam was a good story. I found it intriguing but a little predictable. It’s probably all those apocalyptic stories I have read that seem to have the same kind of formula and this one was no exception. While I enjoyed the characters, I did at time find myself frustrated with them. Guess I should have looked a little closer at the blurb to catch the ages of the MCs. It explains a lot when I realize this is more of a New Adult genre. Oh well. Moving on. There’s quite a bit of action that keeps things running along at a good pace and while I have not read any of the previous books, I still had no problem keeping up. I love the characters in this book and have enjoyed watching the grow as they deal with the constant crisis around them. The story is incredible. It is fast paced and filled with so much action. I really enjoy the characters and their interactions. Also, the romance is hot and steamy (NSFW).
I didn't want this book to end! It was so good that I couldn't put it down! As much as I wanted to know how things would work out, I didn't want to reach the end! I'm so happy that there will be another book in the series called Cataclysm! I can't wait for it to release because I need to know what happens next!

I definitely fell in love with this series a little-lot bit with this book. It definitely hits very close to home after this past year - and maybe takes a view on what could have happened with a different kind of pandemic.
Kyle and Sunny grew up next door to each other. Kyle was best friends with Sunny's older brother and was off at college with him when the virus exploded. Since that time Kyle has buried most of his friends and found a home with a group of other survivors on a ranch in eastern Oregon. He's no longer the happy-go-lucky, well-off college student he was. He's become a true survivor and has done things that he never would have even though of in a pre-pandemic world.
Sunny survived the virus as well - and like everyone else has lost her whole family and almost everyone she knew. She's connected with a group of other survivors in Boise who are scavenging for supplies and helping to support other survivors. Before the pandemic she had a major crush on Kyle, but never thought it would turn in to anything.

I am always excited to be back in this apocalyptic world Strom has created. I just want to roll around in it. Become a part of it. It truly is an amazing series. Each book wonderful, engaging, and impactful in it’s own right.
For the most part, life has been good for Sunny since the pandemic started. And for a pandemic, she has led a relatively normal life without trouble. Thankfully Kyle shows up when he does, because trouble just landed on her doorstep in the form of a truce that has gone sour.
I liked Kyle in the first 2 books. It took some time, but he finally grew on me and I enjoyed his character. But I loved him in BEDLAM. He showed up and showed out like a knight in shining armor on a white steed. (Or a really handsome Hunk, wielding a gun, driving a Valhalla ranch truck). Same difference in my opinion.
Sunny is a beautiful soul whose personality is as bright as her namesake. While a bit naive to this new world and the evil that resides in it, she learns pretty quickly that it does exist and it just took up residence in her town. But even so, she doesn’t let this new knowledge dim her light. And that had me immediately loving her.
Fantastic story that brings things together. Even family. Because when the world is quickly killed off, family is not a luxury many see. More than likely, everyone you know is dead. Strom did another amazing job with this wonderful, well written book and had my heart in my throat in several scenes. Between the anticipation for what they would stumble upon next and a romance that burned brightly, this book gets all the stars! 5 Stars!

This post apocalyptic series really hits hard right now as here in the real world we too struggle against what can be a deadly virus. That being said in the hands of Ms Strom the effects of a pandemic are highly entertaining and certainly page turning. This story is about Kyle as he goes back to where he grew up hoping that somehow some of his family and friends have survived. Well what do you know ? There is a survivor and its his best friends little sister Sunny ! Except the Sunny he meets isn't a snot nosed kid but a young woman with ideas of her own. Sunny is determined to help her fellow survivors but a virus isn't the only threat as danger starts walking the streets of Boise and Kyle and Sunny are slap bang in its crosshairs !
I really enjoy this series although will admit I just didn't particularly want Kyle to be the hero. Both he and Sunny felt so very young at times and I know they are early twenties, so technically NA but they felt a lot younger. I do enjoy this new direction that the series is going in and this was a very exciting story. Plus we get new characters that definitely made me smile. I believe Bear will headline the next book but I cannot help but want another alpha male in charge and having enjoyed Ripper so much I'm definitely routing for the enigmatic Marcus. Twists and turns, sexy times and cuteness makes this a book I happily recommend.

Another great addition to this dystopian series.
Reading about the aftermath of a worldwide pandemic, while still under restrictions due to COVID meant this 3rd book in the series wasn't well-timed LOL. The series actually commenced before COVID so the author must have had her psychic hat on when she wrote this!
This time around Kyle is getting his turn to shine. He's returning home to see if anyone is still alive. His community has been ravaged but Sunny, his best friend's little sister, has survived and is part of a community that works together to keep each other fed and safe. But when a local gang tried to make a move on the Haven, Summy and Kyle are going to have to work together to get everyone out safely.
Kyle takes up the mantle admirably from Ripper as the protector. He and Sunny have a history, so it's nice that have memories they can share together. There is plenty of action and adventure and a new big-bad to take down. I'm not sure who was the biggest baddie, senior or junior??!?
Really well-constructed world with engaging and interesting characters. And in the vein of all great stories, some of the most loved characters don't always make it to the end of the book. Can't wait to read more about Finn and see how Valhalla copes with its new inhabitants!

A steamy post apocalyptic romance and adventure. This is part of a series, but having not read the other books I didn’t feel like I was missing out on anything even though there were characters from the other books mentioned in this one. It is a standalone, mostly HEA, at least as much as two lovers can get in a crazy post-apocalyptic world. Sunny has survived a pandemic that has killed most of the residents, not just of Boise, but the country. Her family is gone, including her brother Jake. She now works with an organization helping survivors of the virus survive the harsh new reality. Gangs have formed in the aftermath, claiming parts of the city but Sunny is determined to help survivors who can’t help themselves, like elderly Mrs. Birdwhistle. Then she runs into her dead brother’s best friend, Kyle, who is back in town from missions with his team to check on his family. Sunny has always had a crush on Kyle. Now that the end of the world is upon them, she decides it’s time to make fantasy a reality. But life in a crumbled society isn’t going to make things easy on them. This was a great adventure, plenty of steam, easy to read and very enjoyable overall. Sunny was a killer leading lady who took no BS and was very capable. Kyle was a typical alpha male who grew on me as the story unfolded. A great summer beach read with lots of spice and high stakes.

I have read all three of the World Fallen series, and this was just as much fun as the others. This series has been a great mix of romance, story and world building. It was great to get more of Kyle's story. Even though he was not my favorite character from the first two books, he grew on me in this one. I really enjoyed how he was able to grow and how the story progressed around him. I was a little frustrated with the characters at times when they didn't immediately figure out a few things that I thought were obvious, but it did not detract from the story for me. I also liked the new characters and how they fit into the larger world, as well as the expanded age range. It was nice to see more characters who represented a little bit larger range. I am so happy that this series is continuing and I can't wait to read more of it!

I actually like preppy boys more than bikers, so for me it was no problem that Kyle got the spotlight. He manages fine on his own.
What I didn't like about this book is nitpicking, but it rubs me the wrong way that after the apocalypse the wasteful lifestyle continues. Food is getting scarce, as is gasoline. To deliver food twice a week so old people can continue live at home is just not believable. It's been months since the flu struck, about time realizing that you have to grow food. Even if just 1% of the population survived, this 1% will burn through canned food fast.
It's the same with Valhalla, in the previous book it was only Bear working while the white supremacists kept watch.
Anyways, I read it, it was entertaining enough to start book 4, I just have to ignore the logic holes.

good plot, but that FMC…
I had read books 1 and 2 and was looking forward to what came next. I really liked the world this author built and became pretty invested, so i had high hopes for this one.
I liked the plot well enough, but the FMC was so annoyingly naïve and reckless that it actually detracted from the story, especially toward the end. I get it, bad things have to happen to keep things interesting, but she made stupid decisions that put herself and others into harm’s way far too many times for a person that supposedly has more than 2 brain cells to rub together. It became so frustrating that I am glad to be moving on to the next.

As Kyle travels home at last to find out once and for all what happened to his family, he thinks he is prepared for what he might find. But nothing could ever prepare him for Sunny. A breathe of fresh air in a world gone mad he vows to protect her and bring her home to Valhalla. Sunny though is strong willed with her own agenda and dreams and Kyle must learn to accept that she has a say in her future. A future that's in jeopardy when another to good to be true offer becomes a fight to death. Action pact, passionate and full of new characters I can't wait to get to know more!

Susanna Strom has done it again! This third entry in her World Fallen series follows Kyle's story and has all of the action, heat, danger, and heart that I've come to expect. We get to meet new friends, new allies, new loves, and new enemies in a fast paced, edge of your seat ride. I love this series and I can't wait to find out what the author has in store for us in Cataclysm!

Sunny and Kyle are reunited after time apart in the town that granted them both wonderful memories, but is now a desolate post apocalyptic zone with nothing but danger. Sunny and Kyle are great together even with the drama encircling them. I liked this series from the first book and would recommend reading them in order to gain a better understanding of the characters. This topic will hit close to home, but well worth the read!

Kyle is Kenzies ex boyfriend from the previous book. I didn’t like him for half of book 1, but after that he got his shit together and now I do like him. Sunny was so sweet. She fit in with everybody at the ranch.

Great story
Can't wait for the next one. Through these three that I've read I still think about the characters who haven't made it. I won't include names so there's no spoilers. This series is just getting better and better! I enjoyed it a lot. I loved seeing Kyle come into his own. I loved how he remembered Ripper in the back of his head. I like Sunny but she got on my nerves sometimes with her ideas about not learning how to shoot a gun. I hate to say it but they drove that truck with “Valhalla “ on the side all over the place. Elliot can track them. I wonder if the author did this on purpose? That truck was very memorable in the last books. I wish I could see Elliots response when he got back home. I like how everything is lining up. I can’t wait to get Bears story. I hope our friends come out on the other side. I highly recommend this book and series.

This was an amazing continuation to the series. I felt like I was right along with them, I didn’t want this book to end. It’s a faced paced and action packed filled with twists and turns. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Really enjoying this series.Love the characters,watching them maneuver the world after a virus creates havoc.Friendships are formed,battles for survival are fought ,this book kept getting better as it progressed.Looking forward to the next in this series.
