Hi, I'm Liz Fielding, and I'm a best selling contemporary romance author with more than 15 million books in print and Katie Fforde wrote, when honouring me with the Romantic Novelists' Association's Outstanding Achievement Award in 2019 said - "Liz Fielding's books, with their warmth, humour and emotion, have charmed millions of readers. She is a true star of the romantic fiction genre..."

And now I've turned to a life of crime with my first cozy mystery. Murder Among the Roses, published on 18 April 2023 - of which Katie Fforde also said, "I was gripped from beginning to end..."

Reading is a big part of my life. I love witty, contemporary romances, not too much sex,, Women's fiction by the likes of Fiona Harper, Julie Cohen, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jennifer Crusie and Barbara O'Neal. And I love crime fiction that isn't too gory, or focussed on clue hunting, but is big on character.

My best loved series at the moment are the Ruth Galloway series by Elly Griffiths, The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaronovitch and the Libby Sarjeant Mysteries by Lesley Cookman. I've just read the first in the Georgina Drake crime series from Kate Hardy and looking forward to the next.

Well that was the third and technically final book of the Beaumont Brides Trilogy. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Once the ex girlfriend was out of the picture there was no doubt about where we were headed. The only question was how we were going to get there. Liz Fielding has sprinkled this romance with some elements of white collar crime, insider trading with a touch of revenge. Just enough to keep you worried about what might blow up as Melanie Devlin Beaumont and Jack Wolfe get closer day by day. Just enough to slow down that obvious attraction as they eyed each other warily wondering if he was really the corporate Wolf and if she was a Mata Hari. Jack has some history as well that influences him just as Melanie's baggage causes her some qualms about where her relationship with Jack might lead.
As the third novel in the trilogy we get a nice glimpse of the lives of Fizz and Luke and Claudia and Mac and their father Edward and his new wife and stepdaughter Diana and Heather. It all gets rounded off rather nicely with a taster for Heathers story which is becomes Nyssa Blakes Story in His Personal Agenda. I mention this because I'm putting it on my TBR.
Altogether a very enjoyable read, fairly lightweight but ideal for a relaxing few hours and a satisfying ending.

This is the third book in the series, and follows Melanie, the youngest of the three sisters. Melanie takes up a challenge from a friend to work as a cleaner for a month, and in doing so meets Jack Wolfe. This is the typical story of people falling in love while one has a hidden secret, but the twists and developments in the plot are enough to take out of the ordinary and make it more enjoyable.
I have enjoyed all three in this series - it's a shame the author was not able to continue properly with the series, as the fourth book is published with different publisher and character names. Still, when I'm in the mood for this sort of read again I might well look it up.
Enjoyable escapist fiction.

I probably liked Wild Fire the most of The Beaumont Brides Series. In my open it's slow moving and predictable. I found Jack a little creepy, but he does manage to redeem himself a little. I found Melanie very naive. Overall it's okay. I read in The Beaumont Brides 3-in-1 Collection: Wild Justice / Wild Lady / Wild Fire.

It’s sometimes a mistake to go time travelling! I love this author’s books but I suspect I made a mistake reading this one which was apparently written 25 years ago. Oh my goodness but times have changed! 😗

I also thought the OW Caroline was such a caricature. She really was a one-dimensional stereotype of an OW

The hero, Jack, is sexually involved with Caroline at the beginning of the book, but there is no scene where it becomes clear that they have actually broken up. He behaves in a way that no hero in 2022 would get away with. I squirmed as I read some of his scenes and interior monologue.

The heroine Mel, who we met in previous books is an irritating, self involved, juvenile girl who behaves stupidly throughout the book. For someone trying not to be noticed or flirted with by the hero, she goes out of her way to irritate, tantalise and flirt with him. She lies non-stop, and yet condemns him on the basis of no evidence as a cheat and heartless manipulator.

They are some wonderfully written set pieces in the book but overall I could not buy his attraction to the 20year old Mel.

Still an entertaining read but nowhere near as entertaining or as credible as the books the author writes now. This book was perfect for the period but it hasn’t aged well.

While I finished this book in one sitting, it's not the kind of story that leaves a lasting impression and not one I'd re-read. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a traditional category without any surprises, especially if you get the digital re-release at a good price.

Nice end to the trilogy. You just keep waiting for the climax - which was kinda anti-climatic, but yet I still enjoyed the read. Will read the final book - which is a different publisher so names were changed -- we'll see if we can follow the story!
