Sloan Prescott is done with bad boys and bad choices. When she moves to Arizona, she's looking for a fresh start, far away from her drug dealing ex and all the complications that went with him. She doesn't have the stomach for a life of uncertainty. Flynn Davis is the President of the Thanatos Motorcycle Club one of the most feared and revered organizations in Arizona. As such, he's used to getting what he wants from whoever he wants whenever he wants. When Flynn and Sloan have a chance encounter in a coffee shop, sparks fly. Sloan wants nothing to do with the arrogant man who screams trouble and reminds her of the past. But Flynn loves nothing better than a challenge, and Sloan just threw down the gauntlet.
Before I say anything about the story I have to mention how much this cover pleases me. Covers are a thing with me and when they fit it makes me super happy. This cover fits ridiculously well! When I first saw it, I was like “what is happening with this guys face?” lol, and then I started reading. Ya’ll, the arrogance coming off this cover is so on point it makes me giddy! Now about this story …
MC romances are one of my favorites to read so I am constantly seeking out new series to get hooked on and I found one in the Thanatos MC! The story of Sloan and Flynn sparked from the word go. I was gripped by the story and especially Flynn. He’s struggling as a new President and the last thing he needs is drama in the romance department but the heart wants what the heart wants *shrug* I experienced a whole rainbow of emotions while I read this story, from wanting to smack Sloan to hugging Flynn! That’s what I enjoyed the most and why I stayed up way past my bedtime reading!
I’m looking forward to a lot more from Cole Lepley and the Thanatos MC. I can’t wait to see how she grows not only the MC, but also the brotherhood!
"Flynn and I may have a long way to go toward perfection, but being beautifully flawed is pretty damn close." This story kind of annoyed me. The ending was rather abrupt. I wished there was an epilogue.

Sloan Prescott has had it with bad boys and now that she has moved to Arizona, its time for a new start. Maybe stay away from the bad boys 😊
But when she has an encounter with Flynn Davis President of the Thanatos MC Club seems like maybe her bad boy days aren’t behind her so much. The more she tries to stay away from him the more it seems their attraction keeps them gravitating towards each other.
Flynn is the new MC President, and he has a lot to prove to himself and his club, he knows he can run the club so much better than his dad. But for some reason it just seems he cant make the right decisions, which not only affect him but all the people around him. So is it wise to get mixed up with Sloan right now??
This was a sexy sparks flying hot emotional drama MC story. I enjoyed every minute of it. I loved that Flynn wasn’t perfect and like a true MC story nothing goes according to plan. Sloan annoyed me a nit with the back and forth. She wanted to let go of her past but its also like she wasn’t moving on. All in all I loved the story and loved the new author. Definitely looking forward to the next story in this MC ride 😊 ♥
I think the title really sums up the relationship between Sloan and Flynn. They're toxic and probably shouldn't be together. I also didn't feel the chemistry between them, it was more that Flynn was emotionally manipulative and abusive and Sloan for some reason really thought it was romantic and fell right into it.
Sloan has recently been in two failed relationships, a fiancé that she cheated on and the drug dealer she cheated with. She's decided that she's going to stay away from dangerous men, but then immediately falls for the leader of a motor cycle club that deal drugs and arms. Hmm. In her defense, Flynn is pretty charming and sweet at the beginning. He cares for her, he's smoking hot, and he pays her the attention she craves. When he does a 180 and starts being possessive and controlling, she's already in love and decides to stick it out.
Flynn has A LOT of issues and as we find out more about his past, things fall into place. I did feel bad for some of the things his dad put him through and Flynn's mental health needed to be dealt with. However, he's an adult who chose not to get help and I can't forgive the things he did. The ending really helped him get better and he's lucky to have Sloan by his side to keep him going.
There are some sweet parts in this and I really liked Andy. He's a good kid who deserves better than the life he has now. This just wasn't for me and the main characters weren't my favorite.
I received a copy of this book from Hidden Gem in exchange for an honest review.
Ok so I'm actually torn on what rating to give this book. It could've been a great book.
I still don't feel a connection between Sloan and Flynn no matter how many times they say they love each other. Sloan was still saying she loved her ex Perry while she supposedly in love with Flynn.
You don't feel it between them, you have Flynn that is Bipolar and is self medicating with coke and popping pills, let's not forget making the worst decisions in history being a the club's President and all. He almost gets many people killed. And how many times can one guy get shot through a book a still live. I believe it's six for Flynn which makes it unbelievable, because he either is fighting or getting shot every day on top of the drugs.
MC Goodness! 4.5 stars “Sometimes we need to endure a little pain to have something meaningful.”
This MC romance is just as the title suggests: it’s toxic. Toxic by Cole Lepley isn’t your typical MC romance though, while this story is about the brotherly bond of a club, it also deals with mental health issues and the impact of what that brings for their loved ones.
Sloan and Flynn have a chance encounter and instantly, they experience an attraction with one another unlike anything they have experienced before. The development between these two is very fast. They both have extremely messy histories and while Sloan wanted to start over, once she locked her eyes on the president, her fate was sealed, Flynn wouldn’t let her go.
I loved how not only was this not your typical MC book, but it’s not your typical romance either. It’s got a little of the cliche where the two main characters fall for each other fairly quickly, but the subject matter that was mentioned and dealt with was refreshing. We had a female character that isn't your typical damsel in distress, she’s lived with danger before, so she was open minded to this life. Our hero is the one that deals with some very heavy mental health issues, and while he always took it lightly, his loved ones didn’t. There was some level of enabling, and I think that’s normal given the type of environment they’re in, but when Sloan came into his life, she was able to see the recklessness of Flynn’s life and tried to push him and everyone else to be better about it.
I loved the balance this book brung when it came to things; when there was danger, there was realness, but there were also the good times mixed with the bad times. Flynn is also your typical grade A douche. Honestly, there were moments where I actually didn’t like him and favored Sloan more, which doesn’t happen often. But as their story unfolds I certainly fell for him, he does have his charms. This book drove me crazy at times, but I loved it all the same, along with all the characters, and I’m excited to start book two!
When you see your soulmate it’s like your life becomes complete. You just have to meet her first. This was my first Cole Lepley book and I am such a fan.
Sloan moved to avoid men and men who weren’t model citizens. She got a good job and was happy. The heart break was starting to get easier. Until Flynn. And little did she know her heart signed her up for love before she even knew his name.
Flynn, President of the MC, has his own personal battles and demons. His mind was always a chaotic mess until his eyes landed on Sloan and everything went quiet. He knew that she was the one. But his dealings with the club would put her in danger. She made him a better man. and he wanted to be that man for her.
Unfortunately, I couldn't get into this story. I also didn't feel like this club was very macho or badass. Also, I wasn't a fan of the writing... therefore, I had to let this go. Hopefully many others will enjoy this story.
Ok. Wow! I did not expect to like this book as much as I did. I will fervently admit to the fact that I was initially drawn to it because of the cover. It is along the lines of one of my favorite authors, MJ Fields. I love a ripped, tattooed, bad boy. But this book was SO much more than that.
Flynn isn't your typical MC President. Sure, he's arrogant, sexy, has tattoos out the wazoo acts like he owns the joint. But there's a lot to him under the surface, including some serious mental health struggles. I really like how they were handled. They were very realistic and given the proper care and courtesy that someone who has the same struggles will feel heard and seen.
The love story was equally as beautiful. I love when you can feel the connection between characters right away. That feeling you get when you can see them both get smacked right in the face with something they weren't expecting. And while this book was very steamy, it wasn't just raunchy sex with no substance. Sloan and Flynn had a very deep emotional aspect to their relationship.
I go back and forth on whether or not I like MC books, but this one was so good! I'm definitely picking up the next in the series.
Sloan is trying to leave her past behind and now in a new place trying to build herself up once again.
But when she meets this annoying guy at the coffee shop who just gets on her nerve, she goes on with her day not expecting fate to have her paths crossed time again with this person.
He might be super handsome but he acts like a Savage, arrogant man and yet she can't help not start to fall for his charms.
But what Sloan doesn't realise is the reason she wanted to escape her old life was to escape from that kind of dangerous life, this time though it's much worse.
Flynn and Sloan are quite an unconventional pair and so is their relationship. Both have secrets hiding but also a past that still haunts them.
Also, I'm really intrigued with what's going to happen with Ashley and her love hate relationship with Tiny. Loved this one. ❤️❤️❤️
Sloan & Flynn full story is one full of love, action, suspense and both have interesting back stories! Flynn past is heartbreaking and we learn later on that he need meds to help with his moods. What I love he opens up about it and he knows Sloan will help him cope much more. His daughter Willow ADORABLE 🥰 Sloan she had a interesting past and her ex...let's just say he protective over. She started a new life in a new town which lead her to Flynn & his MC. We are at the point of Flynn just starting as a Prez .
"Never again will I talk myself out of having something beautiful all because it isn’t perfect. Flynn and I may have a long way to go toward perfection,"
As we learn along the way with Sloan she had her own values on how to live her life thanks to her experience with her ex's life style. However, she learnt that it's the man that make life worth wild it not his life style, it's the man.
💙MUST READ 21💙 I was NEVER bord with this one. Suspense, Action & Love what more could you want !!
This is the first book I have read from this author and I cannot wait to read more! Thanks to the awful weather we are having here, I was able to finish this book in one sitting and let me say, I did not want to put it down or for the story to end!
This is the story of Sloane and Flynn. Sloane has had a pretty rocky history when it comes to men. She is strong, independent, sassy, and has an attitude. She is trying to start her life over. Flynn is the president of the Thanatos MC – he is dark, dangerous, cocky and arrogant. He always gets what he wants and doesn’t care how he goes about doing that. The attraction between Sloane and Flynn is seen by everyone and everyone takes notice that Flynn is not his usual self.
You can find action, passion, drama, betrayal, tragedy, drug addiction and mental health issues. Great characters, great story and I cannot wait for the next book in this series to come out!
I voluntarily reviewed this after receiving a free copy through Hidden Gems ARCs for an honest review.
Sloan moves to Arizona, looking for a fresh start from her past. There she meets Flynn, the President of the Thanatos MC, who is fighting numerous demons. Flynn comes across as a crude, arrogant bad boy, and Sloan tries her hardest to keep away from him… The plot was so good, action packed and spicy. I LOVED Flynn, gorgeous, biker and pure possessive. Sloan is a feisty, independent, beautiful female lead. I love how Cole wrote about Mental Health and how she wrote it into the story. If you like A Dark MC Romance with a slow burn theme, this is for you.
I like an alpha male in my stories however our main man in this story came across (to me) as more arrogant and ignorant than alpha and I spent most of the book not liking him much and I think this tarnished my enjoyment. I like a strong female character also and although this lady had her moments of sass mostly she was a fairly weak character letting herself be dictated to. I understand the MC challenges will continue throughout the series but as far as this story I felt there was a lot left unresolved for this couple.
I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving an advance copy from Hidden Gems.
I enjoyed the emotional journey of Flynn and Sloan. The struggles they both went through as they started their relationship and as it grew into so much more. I could not help but fall for Flynn and all his demons as he tried to run the MC and figure out how to keep the one he lived safe and love. Sloan was a strong character with a big heart. Together they had a story I enjoyed from page one to the end. Look forward to more of the Thanatos MC.
Is it HOT in here?!!! Debra @Janise’s Jivin’ Book Blog
My first Cole Lepley book was read with great enjoyment. I found the realness of our leading characters issues to be handled in a different way than in books I may have read that were dealing with some of the same issues.
Flynn is definitely a dominant male used to getting his own way. He is strong but flawed. Sexy but has some truly sweet moments. He can be a bit of jerk but will give you the world if he loves you.
Sloan is far from perfect and doesn’t expect perfection and has a past that makes her think twice before getting involved with Flynn.
The people around our leading couple are a mix of supportive and are you crazy! Our couple have a insta connection and things in some ways move fairly quickly and other ways a little more a slow burn with a pop of “oh yeah”!
I found the action to be right on point for an MC story and the surprises were just right! I really did enjoy and look forward to what comes next for the Thanatos MC storyline!
Sloan is looking to start over. She’s done with men. She’s done making bad choices and having constant reminders of her relationship failures. Sloan moves to Arizona to be near family and work toward that fresh start that her soul most certainly needs. But she never counted on having sparks fly when someone rudely cuts her off in line for coffee.
Flynn Davis is a man who doesn’t accept obstacles. He is the President of the Thanatos MC and used to getting his way. And when Sloan mouths off to him in line, Flynn decides that he wants her. Despite him being everything she ran from, Flynn needs to overcome her misgivings to prove he’s worth the risk.
The attraction is off the charts, but Flynn has stuff going on. Stuff that he has a tenuous grasp on at best, at worst it’s about to spin out of control. Can Sloan deal with this new tornado in her life or would it be best for her to just cut and run?
First of all, this is my first Cole Lepley book and while I thought I knew what I was getting into, in reality, I got something completely different. This is no glossed over, run of the mill, MC romance. These characters are real. They have depth. You feel their struggles and want to help them. Once you buckle in, you’re going to be on a very emotional roller coaster ride. The story was wonderful and kept you gripped all the way to the end. I literally sat down and read this book until I was finished - it was just that good. Can’t wait for the next book in the series!
This was an ok read for me. While the book dealt with realistic behaviors and mental illness, it was a little shallow for me. Sloane and Flynn seem great together, however I think they need to be more mature.
Every character in this book has issues - ranging from violent tendencies to drug addiction to mental illness. Sloan, good but not too good, makes horrible relationship decisions that have caused her to upend her life in effort to make a fresh start. Flynn, bad but not unredeemable, knows no other life than that of the Thanatos MC. Her snark pushes his buttons. His dominating bad boy ways both repel and intrigue her. Together they're hot. And toxic. Something has got to give.
I really enjoyed this book. It was heat, action and pain. I wanted Sloan to grow up enough to make the right decision, and Flynn to grow strong enough to save himself.
I'm looking forward to the rest of this series.
I received an advance copy of this book. The review is my own.
I love MC. I love gritty, raw MC. I also have a thing for the extreme alpha. Well this guy was that in spades, as well as psychotic, drugged up and whatever else kept him on his rollercoaster ride. Luckily his woman had a thing for men like that and was able to cope with the mood swings, uncertainty and the brothers popping out every 5 mins to shoot someone!
The thing that really drew me to the book though, was how you got drawn in to his moods. You felt every bit of the euphoria, the mania, or the blackness he was feeling.
What a Ride!! Toxic is an MC romance story that I couldn't t help but devour. Flynn, the President of the Thanatos MC is surrounded by darkness. Not only is he also drowning in responsibilities, suffering with insecurities, and living with inner turmoil, but the clubs enemies are ready for war. During a chance meeting at a coffee shop Flynn meets the beautiful, sweet, and sassy Sloan, the woman who is the light to his dark, and the angel that is going to save him. Will their connection bring Flynn the inner peace and light he desires? Or will Sloan become a complicated yet beautiful distraction that will get them all killed? The steam, the chemistry, the suspense, the angst, the action, and the underlying feeling that Flynn was like a pressure cooker building up ready to explode had my Kindle heating up, my heart both aching and warming, and me on the edge of my seat holding my breath with anticipation. The underlying continuing story and the secondary characters have me intrigued and desperate for more!!! Looking forward to Book 2!!
This book was not what I expected. I thought I was getting another bad boy alpha romance with danger and insta-lust. I got that, but then I got so much more, that made this a 5 star book for me and not just a quick pass the time read.
This book is intense, I felt like I was spiralling out of control alongside the characters. I kept waiting for the explosion.
Toxic takes a lot of the Alpha MC Badboy behaviours we normally shrug off as being ok in this genre (because you know, hot guy, leather, sexual tension, yum) and makes you question them, while still allowing you as a reader to fall hard for Flynn.
I connected so much with some of the feelings, mental health issues and behaviours expressed in the story, that my heart was breaking for the characters. Flynn is an incredible character, he embodies the stereotypical MC president on the surface but it's everything going on underneath that makes him feel real.
I very much look forward to reading more from this series, and this group of characters.
OMG!! This is a new author to me and she writes a gritty, suspenseful and dangerous story. All of the characters in this first book are messed up, I’m talking like really messed up. Sloane has given up on bad boys but when she encounters Flynn she needs to stick to her guns but her resolved is crumbling. Flynn is the president of the baddest MC in town and when he sees Sloane he knows he has to have her. They start off slow and try to resist each other but she is like a balm to his ragged soul. Sloane comforts him like no other but with the regular MC drama and enemies on the inside will everyone come out unscathed? Promising start to the series!!
Plot wise for a romance I absolutely understand why this book is rated so high, but the characters just ruined the whole story for me.
Neither of them are likable people. Spoiler free here, all this is covered in the first few chapters: Sloan all about needing a fresh start and how bad her past relationships were but she seems to be at least equally at fault. Rather than breaking up with her ex, she had an ongoing affair with an equally unappealing man before finally breakup with him.
Flynn on the other hand is an absentee father that only offers financial support but still acts possessive and controlling over his ex.
I do mean that literally because Flynn is definitely on the crazy side. Some of it is due to drugs, some due his upbringing and some to bipolar disorder. Both ways he has put Sloan, the woman he loves and his club in imminent danger.
This was one crazy ride that I couldn't put down. The hostilities between clubs were intense and dysfunctional Flynn was equally intense. I always wondered how much Sloan could endure with all the danger and craziness that was there at every turn. This is a new author to me and I can't wait to read more of her work.
New to me author and she totally won me over im excited about the rest of this series. Both Flynn and Sloan won me over quickly they both have so much going on. Sloan is trying to give up bad boys but Flynn is all things bad boy. I loved that these two started slow and didn't rush they just melded together as they went. Sloan keeps him calm and helps even him out. I can't wait to see what's next.
DNF. Why do I always trust bloggers? Lol. I know better . This was an epic clusterf**k! FMC is so bad it’s absurd! Talk about lack of morals .., cheats on her fiancé with a drug dealer who was in a relationship with someone else (calls herself a home wrecker) then goes and says “well.. no more . I’m not going to be responsible for wrecking another relationship “ when she knew full well she was , because, yah , if the shoes for ... what kind of love story is this ? This FMC should get help, not be in a relationship.

You meet Sloan, who recently moved to Arizona after a brake up with her fiancé. She's looking for a fresh start and is over men, period. She never expected to meet a guy one day at a local coffee shop.
Flynn Davis is the President of the Thanatos MC. He doesn’t accept obstacles and use to getting his way. His the one who cuts in-front of Sloan at the coffee shop and instantly wants her.
Once you buckle in, you’re going to be on a very emotional roller coaster ride. The story was wonderful and kept you gripped all the way to the end. I literally sat down and read this book until I was finished - it was just that good.
I really enjoyed this story and am excited to see the future of the Thanatos and watch the characters grow. Thanatos MC is a force to be reckoned with, along with the talented Cole Lepley.
The beautifully broken souls of Sloan and Flynn are written so well you feel what they do and root for them to get their HEA.
Sloan has a past she is trying to move forward from, and grow and learn more about herself. Flynn is trying to establish himself as new President of the Thanatos MC. The conflict and drama they both individually face as well as the drama combined, weigh on both characters.
Flynn has more inner turmoil and his decisions effect not only himself and his relationship but those around him that depend on him to lead them. I felt my heart brake for him and would feel myself getting irritated with his choices. I, likewise, was getting mad at Sloan for some of her actions. This reinforced to me the excellent writing of Cole Lepley.
I had no idea how true this book title would be when I started this book. There are so many toxic relationships in here that your mind will be spinning.
Sloan and Flynn have a HEA for now I feel like. There is so much going on with them as individuals then them as a couple you can’t help but wonder what their future will look like. It still felt fragile by the end of the book.
There are also other characters who have toxic relationships and I can’t even imagine how anything will play out.
Get ready for your mind to get bended and leave you reeling.
