It’s an all-new dynamic for the Dynamic Duo when Nightwing and Gotham’s mysterious new Batman join forces against the Magistrate. But when the totalitarian force controlling the city declares the two heroes their primary targets, Nightwing will need to call on the full force of his hidden resistance, including two Batgirls, Huntress, and Two-Face! But even then, will it be enough? Find out in this action-packed conclusion!
A fun conclusion where get to see Nightwing team up with the New Batman. Not only that but get to see more of the Batfamily work together. It helps Andrew Constant writes a solid Dick who is likeable yet feels like he's been through hell. A 4 out of 5.
No shower scenes, but we get a satisfying conclusion done in true Bat-style. Nightwing proves yet again why he's the only one that can take Batman on equal footing. The New Batman has more faith in teamwork than the original Dynamic Duo, which serves this story well. This series has a good team behind it who get the characters.
This closing chapter of Future State Nightwing was incredible! I love Constant’s take on Nightwing and Scott’s artwork is fabulous. One of my favorite scenes is when the Resistance shows up in the middle of the showdown between Nightwing, Batman, and the Magistrate. I know it won’t but I wouldn’t mind seeing this title continue.
This one was pretty fun and the art was great, I don’t know if I loved it though. The ending made me giggle but that’s about it. I’m not crazy over the magistrate storyline, and maybe for the trade it should be paired with one of the stories that were stuffed in the Batman series. I don’t know how it would do as a stand alone trade if you don’t know about all the other Gotham tie in. Maybe even the Catwoman series would be a good match. Excited to see how these will be collected.
review of both: the stunningly bright colours that accompany future state do not take away from the blacks blues and greys of nightwing's story. of course dick is leading a rebellion, and he looks fuckign GOOD doing it - this is a rebel with a cause story of a team of misfits fighting against their facist government, and dick's smarts, readiness to sacrifice himself, hesitant allyship with the new batman as well as his ABS and his ASS bring personality to this classic narrative :) some of the general world building was a bit confusing but that's cause I've only read 1 other future state series
I'm so tempted to give this five stars, because it's the best comic I've read in months, but it's not better than some of the books I've rated 4,5 or 4 stars, so I'll have to settle for four. This issue was fun, lots of action, touching moments, character growth it had it all (and that in a two issue comic). I loved seeing all the heroes show up to help Nightwing and It was very touching imo. I really liked this one a lot.
Fun 2-issues, self-contained while expending the Magistrate controlled Gotham depicted in this Future State event. I also liked the art and the colours with nice shades of blue and purple. Peacekeeper-06 was interesting and it was a nice touch to tell readers a litle about her past.
This has been the single most fun issue I have read in the Future State run. It has Nightwing and the new Batman tearing it up. We also get the calvary that shows up. It's good ol' fashioned comic action.
