I just couldn't stop reading, this book is truly a page-turner! When you think this book would only be a sexy-spicy one it turns to be a very romantic and emotional book (with a lot of steamy scenes!). Margaux has this splendid way f writing that you can even feel the summer Spain heat, and that results in a vibrant and colorful book! Once you start you won’t be able to stop, this book has everything in a perfect dosage, you won't feel the rush of wrapping the story because it's smoothly written!
I loved this book and was three quarters through before I lifted my head up once. That’s how exciting and sexy and easy the words flowed. But even though things can happen when you make changes that are too real to be true, there are always red flags. Hayley, after just moving to Spain from Cleveland and ending a marriage and her life there, embarks on a new adventure. What she finds is an older woman, Amaia, who she has a moment with in a bar and a lustful conversation that so turns Hayley on. But Hayley is new in town and maybe just a little naive. When Amaia appears again, a little miffed that Hayley didn’t reach out, she tells her the truth, she didn’t know what to say. Amaia gives Hayley a little bit of a reason to want something with her and embarks on a very quick, very sexy, very lustful and everything Hayley has been missing in her life, arrangement. In a short period, Amaia has put her whole attention on Hayley, wining, dining, and loving her in ways Hayley couldn’t believe. But just as we the reader can see the red flags, Hayley chose not to address them and when she is hit square in the face of her reality, she realizes her mistakes, number one being she was in love with Amaia and now her world was imploding. Although we can see what is happening, Amaia too has revealed herself to Hayley in a personal way even though she still kept her feelings to herself. This was a quick read in that she got caught up in their relationship and when it did explode, which we knew it was coming, it hurt us too. That is the truth to Margaux Fox’s writing. It pulls you in, you invest and then you feel the emotion. I enjoyed the epilogue you get at the end even though it was a little too short for me. This is definitely a relationship I would have love to see a continuation.
3.5 I actually like it The book is easy to read and you’ll get immediately hooked on by the first chapter, the characters are charming enough, the sexy scene is *chef kisses*, but I feel like there’s a few blanks that didn’t get filled in, and the ending feels a little abruptly and rush (although there’s an epilogue)
I wanted to love 'Finding Haley'. I really, really did. It's the kind of thing I should love—lesbians, discovering themselves on the Spanish coast, with steamy sex scenes and a HEA. What's not to love, right?
Haley moves to Spain after splitting with her wife in an effort to rediscover herself. There, she meets Amaia—and the pair immediately hit it off. Their attraction is undeniable, and their sexual chemistry is sizzling. It's no surprise that before long they fall into bed together, with Haley discovering herself in a whole other way than she'd originally intended.
The problem for me was that though I could relate to Haley in some way, I just wasn't buying the supposed depth of her emotional connection with Amaia. The sex scenes were tantalising and phenomenally well written—but to me, it felt as though their entire relationship was built purely on their physical connection. I struggled to see what they had in common, or how well they worked together.
I will say, however, that there were some lovely moments in the novel. Fox is a great writer, and she uses her supporting characters well to build a rich, vibrant town on the Spanish coast. I loved that Haley remained friends with her ex-wife, and that Paco ultimately gave his blessing to Amaia and Haley. I just wanted to see more of Haley and Amaia outside of the bedroom, without Amaia showering Haley with gifts and luxurious experiences. I wanted to root for them, to have my heart in my throat when Haley walked away, to cheer when Amaia showed up to win her back. And I just....didn't.
This was a lovely story, set in beautiful coastal Spain. It rode the line of “too good to be true,” but there were maybe just enough wrinkles to avoid that being a serious problem. I guess it was still maybe too good to be true, but not in a bad way? On her first day in Spain, Haley stumbles across virtually the queen of her small town, Amaia. Though she doesn’t know quite what to do, Amaia forces the issue and things take off from there.
It was a beautiful place to set the story: from the small town and its beach to Amaia’s house to a nearby city and the ship they visit and more; there was always someplace interesting to go. Haley and Amaia were sweet together, down to earth but also clearly attracted to each other. Isabel is a lovely friend to them both.
There are a couple things that keep me from going with five stars; I kept noticing the changes in the tense, which whatever, except when I’m thinking about that I’m pulled out of the story? And there’s Irene… who pops up only to inject some drama into the story and then disappears? It’s fine if she’s going to do that; I guess I just wanted to know how she got to the place she’s at. And finally, Haley seems perfectly willing to judge other people’s marriages, though she herself started her relationship with Amaia while still married, so that seemed a little inconsistent.
Anyway, none of that prevented me from enjoying the story, and I’d be happy to try another.
Haley Anderson is leaving damp, dreary Cleveland, Ohio, for the beaches of Spain. She and her wife, Jen, are splitting although they are still best friends. They no longer have any spark or sexual attraction. A few days into her stay she meets Amira Rico, a real estate broker, and beautiful woman. Their sizzling relationship and romance lights up her life nut then trouble hits her straight to the heart. Will Amira and Haley work it out or will Haley return to America? Great sapphic story.
This is my first taste of Margaux Fox's works, and I have been thoroughly entertained reading this novel. Something to consider before buying reading: you have to take any disbelief and yeet that right out the window. The entire story is an homage to a daydream. The plot(it is there, hidden betwixt the numerous scenes) is cute and the characters are lovely. It ticks all the boxes(as long as you can suspend the disbelief).
Ms Fox has done it again. Lovely story with real love and grit. Haley is legally separated and decides to go to Spain for a sort of vacation and ends up finding Amaia who she falls in love with. There are some twists and turns that aren’t quite expected, but the characters find a way to be together. Read the wonderful story to find out the twists! You’ll be glad you did. 😎
I liked the setting and it was nice to take a trip to Spain from my arm chair. The picture that Ms Fox paints of the small Spanish town by the sea side was so vivid I wanted to be there and the description of the women and men brought memories of my uncles and their wives back to me. The interaction between the women from the get go is torrid. The women do know how to throw their hips around in such a very enticing way.
Margaux Fox delivers another amazing read with Finding Haley! From a marriage that turns into a friendship into an amazing adventure in Spain where love (and desire) is once again found. Haley is your girl next door and Amaia is a hot Latina powerhouse...two totally different women from different worlds collide and become one! This book keeps you hooked and you don’t know what will become of Haley and Amaia until the last pages! A must read!
I fell in love with these characters immediately. The writing flowed very well. Story was charming. And this book definitely cranked up the heat! Read the whole thing in one day, in between working, because I could not out it down. I have read from Ms Fox before and enjoyed but this was even better. Will be reading more from this author.
This was a blast to read. The struggles both lead characters went through. The devotion the one had for the other was written so gracefully it just brought tears to my eyes practically from the end of the first chapter and throughout the remaining pages. And I'm not such a fan of tearful emotions. Congrats MF.
This is an intense love story that I could not put down!
Margaux Fox certainly has a magical way with the written language! This steamy story is unlike many others, leaving you unsure until the last words are read. To say I enjoyed it is an understatement. It is one that will live on my to read again and again shelf!
While I truly enjoyed Amaia’s character, I am a bit puzzled about what drew that dynamo to Haley. Was it just the platinum blonde hair? I would have really enjoyed a bit more character development for both main characters. Overall though, I did enjoy this fairly short and definitely steamy story. I liked it enough that I will read it again.
I was caught up in the emotion of this book. The wonderful seaside and the whole atmosphere. I felt as if I were there. If I could live my fantasy life, this would be it. I loved the book. I highly recommend this book and this author.
I love, love, love this book. Marcus Fox has a way of painting a picture which is sexy and sensual. It draws you into the story in a way that very few authors can do. Well done!
Very good book, this should be a movie and Salma Hayek should play Amaiah! Loved, the connection that these two characters shared with each other. The writing of the story was very visual.
This is a wonderful story. The richness and beauty of the area is definitely felt. I may be a bit biased as an American living on the coast in France with a beautiful older French woman as my wife.
The heat between Hailey and Amaia is so explosive and all consuming. Both feelings it but neither can express it because of fear and obligation. This story grabs you and takes you on an amazing sensually sexy and loving ride..from the first chapter. Loved it!!
I like thus author I like these types of books good sex scenes a little D &S. No woman getting beat up raped and I loved the ending just a nice romance story
What a short but very sweet book. When I was reading it I wasn't sure where the storyline was going but the little twist and turn it took I sat right up and it was like I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. The end had me with happy tears. Definitely recommend
From a new start in a different country Haley is instantly mesmerised by a stranger in a bar who is to become her everything and finally after ups and downs her wife 🌈❤️🌹
I actually loved the story. The main characters and supporting characters are great. I only gave a 4 because of the abrupt ending. The ending was great although abrupt.
I really liked this book. I liked how they met and the chemistry that they had together. Then it fell apart but in the end it all worked and they are happy together.
