Declan "Boss" Packard is dominating and powerful, with a deep need for control. Being the leader of a Special Ops team at Knight Security, his missions are priority and his teammates are his life. The word "love" has never been a part of Declan's vocabulary and he has never been interested in romantic bullshit, but Lexi Bradshaw changes that in an instant. Lexi awakens every protective and possessive fiber of Declan's being, but when her past returns to haunt her can Declan surrender his need for control in order to save her life?
THIS BOOK HAS ME AT A CHOKEHOLD. I will reread this book multiple times a month just to satisfy the deep longing I have for a perfect romance action, bad boy, strong girl, badass plot.
Nothing I love more than a man with power and authority, and even more so when they know that they have the power. Do not misinterpret this as arrogance, childish, immaturity, but raw authentic power that is so securing to the female lead. Finding books with not only a well written plot and this kind of authentically powerful man, but pairing this alongside a female lead who is strong, independent but aware, as well as respectfully strong, is so hard to come by. Melissa Whyte however, has delivered this. In this series, Declan is my favorite and holds a special place in my heart.
I just realized now this book is on goodreads!! I’ve been reading it while reading my books for school.
Okay so, was she corny, cheesy, not perfectly written and super tropey? Absolutely. But was it stills good quick action packed read that I really enjoyed? Absolutely.
Honestly wattpad amazes me because you can tell people really do their homework and put all their effort into these stories and it’s amazing.
The beginning of this book was so bad. He went angry and jealous at first sight and was all about dating her within a minute. I dislike insta-love so much. If the beginning was written better and we could actually see their relation develop it would have a solid ground for all this care and love towards each other. This whole book happened in a timespan of approximately a week or two, which doesn’t make any sense. Also the rookie mistakes by these so called magnificent men was such a turn off. Nate and Claire just disappeared suddenly. That one sentence about her mother was so insignificant. Other than things going down with Asher nothing was happening besides them going clubbing, drinking and playing games. Very immature for the setting of the book.
