She intrigues me, this walking conundrum of a woman. A kitten sweatshirt, big glasses, and a trusting nature—she’s practically catnip for a man like me. So much so that I let her kidnap me at gunpoint. Instead of demanding money, she tells me of her troubles with a local mafia family. The Lucenzios want protection money from her, and if she refuses to pay, they’ll wreck her brand new kitty store, Pawsitively Perfect. Lucky for Maddy, I happen to be at war with the Lucenzios, and I’ll happily destroy anyone who dares tread on Maddy’s business or her heart. She needs protection. So much so that I find it best to keep her close. Very close. In my bed and in my heart, my clever kitten has dug in her claws. And maybe I like it that way. Besides, I have no choice but to love her. After all, she took me, hostage, from the moment I saw her.
MINK's Note: Get ready to be a bad girl with your kitty sidekick and a hot coffee in this sweet tale with a HEA.
This one was okay because idk the heroine was alittle to navies and pure pure.
Maddy has been harassed by some maifa people who want protection for her shop so she does something kinda dumb she "tries" to hold hostage LachIan hes a rival gang member from the men who were threatening Maddy. But he doesn't take her to serious in trying to kill him since shes to sweet and hes already head over heels in love with her.
So he kinda lets her believe hes the head of the other family.. and he makes sure all her problems get taken care of. So we have rival families, witness protection and more cats ;)
Tiny ow/om drama (crazy person girl and thugs) no cheating, drama, slight secondary character, sexy times, virgin gal and no manwhore
La heroína era tan exageradamente ingenua que no lo encontré divertido

His Clever kitten de MINK
Argumento:
MINK has outdone her self with her latest story. The laughter is in abundance when our adorable lead heroine Maddy attempts to be a bad girl and kidnaps the head of the mafia. But clueless Maddy gets the wrong man. From here it’s full steam ahead. Sexy times that’ll have you blushing when Lachlan takes one look at her and decides to keep her. Forever.
Scottish born Lachlan has known no other life, it’s not legal, it’s not pretty but the fortune he’s amassed while being feared doesn’t faze him. He’s ruthless but with her he’ll fall to his knees to protect her.
Minks unique storytelling is put on display here. I can’t get enough.
Mink is a hit or miss author for me This book is definitely a hit 👍 This was so funny because the h is funny and adorable in a silly way 😂 the H is a Mafia man , loved how they are so different but fell for each other, there is action, steamy sex scenes, laughing, and of course a Cat 🤷♀️ it's Mink book , the epilogue was super cute and funny Loved it ❤
Nothing super special, but I was entertained and the stupidly naive made it funny at times. Also, I always love a devoted, obsessed hero, which he definitely is.
THE HEROINE PUSH THE HERO AWAY LIKE ONE TIME AND NEVER DO IT AGAIN. the hero never ever push the heroine away....
NO SEPARATION
drama with ow (the hero never even touch the ow and it was a arrange marriage that the ow parents wants) the ow comes a bit to see the heroine and got jealous but it was just that. The ow never even touch the heroine. DRAMA WITH OM who turns out to be obsessed with the heroine for a long time but the heroine never felt something for him. Those drama was not too annoying or too much.
Very hot smut scenes
The hero is like a mob and the heroine is a little nerd woman who never even kissed before.
No past relationships ever mention or talked about
THE HERO IS OBSESSED with the heroine and really wants her so badly the minute he saw her
Love in first sight
The heroine is a virgin I don’t know about the hero tho
MANY jealous scenes from the hero And little from the heroine
The hero is OTT POSSESSIVE PROTECTIVE ALPHA MALE
The heroine have a cute cat! Cute scenes lol
The hero always said she’s mine mine mine🥺
HAPPY ENDING. Married and pregnant with triplets! Soooo cute
Maddy owns a cat shop where she sells cat products. But her local mob says she needs to pay to have a place on the block. Desperate, she points a gun at the nearest mob-looking guy she can see. Lachlan actually leads a different mob, but he agrees to be kidnapped at gunpoint anyway. He wants Maddy as his even if it means painting the streets red.
Typical MINK storyline with an innocent heroine, a slightly homicidal hero, and a cat. Wish there was a little bit more going on in the eroticism department though. It’s always more romantic than smutty.
Oh my word, this was such an OTT and silly read about the most obnoxiously naive young woman ever—I have so many questions how she was possibly that sheltered—and the a Scottish crime family head she "takes hostage."
I laughed a lot during this one. Loud, snorting laughs. Because it was not afraid to be ridiculous and leaned into it. Nothing in the plot surprised me, but when it went There, it Went There.
Rating: 1.5 Yeah, this was bad. I think if it was longer, I would feel upset that I read this. But because it was so short, the ridiculousness of it was more funny than irritating. I’ve never read an FMC that is so stupid. I can’t even say her actions were because she was naive. The lights are on, but nobody is home.
After getting threatened again by The Lucenzios for protection money, she decides to take matters into her own hands. Kidnapping Lachlan she thinks she can appeal to him to change his mind about the money, only problem is Lachlan is another threat all together. However, Lachlan is more entertained then feeling threatened. He decides Maddy is the woman for him, but first he needs to convince her that he is not who she thinks she is and let him handle her troubles.
This was pure fun. I thought Maddy was hilarious and the worst kidnapper in history. Lachlan's bodyguard thinks he has lost his marbles, everything about this story was wonderful. One of those books you pick up and don't put down until you are done reading.
Romance genre: insta-love/mafia-lite Part of a series: no Length: 136 pages
Plot: Maddy has a cat store (she doesn't sell cats, but rather cat accessories) in a not-so-great neighborhood. The local Italian mafia has demanded protection money, which she doesn't have. One day, Lachlan, who is a Scottish mobster, is in the neighborhood to cause some mayhem, and he sees Maddy and falls hard. He doesn't exactly recognize what is happening, but realizes that she is his in some way. Maddy is the most incredibly naïve heroine I've ever read, but that makes he (unintentionally) funny, which also appeals to Lachlan. He has to now balance taking care of Maddy and taking care of business. He's up to the task.
Character development: It is difficult to believe that a heroine as innocent as Maddy exists. I'm not sure one does in real life. But she is funny, and it's a good thing Lachlan agrees (otherwise it could get a little annoying). Maddy has a good heart though, and cares about the people around her, even when she's being a "bad girl."
Would I read more from this author/in this series: Yes
1.75/5. Yes, I did finish it but couldn't get even a few pages without cringing. The FMC is ridiculously naive and stupid and not in a cute ironic way. 🙄 her mind set and way of thinking is that if a five or six year old ( sometimes, I'd argue a two year old) , so not only is that cringey , but then a chapter will go straight from one of her idiotic conclusions into her getting laid. It makes the MMC feel like a pedo.
I don't understand the reviews that say the FMC is "a little" naive. Her entire personality consists of not understanding or processing anything around her, but add in some cat puns that she doesn't even consider puns but regular normal statements. The girl uses the word pussy in terms of her cats at her cat store but doesn't recognize why someone would laugh at her for that. The MMC "being in love" with her is nothing more than him enjoying laughing at her expense because she can't comprehend anything.
Book Title: The book title is absolutely appropriate to the story. Book Cover: The cover is absolutely CUTE . My review: The story is about this absolutely pure naïve girl who has a kitten care shop on the wrong side of the track meeting the upcoming Irish mob boss. The mob boss falls for this kitten hard and will absolutely do anything to keep her safe and dirty her up in private! Something about this storyline just made me all giddy and happy! Even though it is an insta-story, I cannot help but want more! Maddy is such a sweet, naïve but headstrong girl who would do anything to save her kitten shop to the point that she would even kidnap the mob boss! Lachlan is so enamored with her that he's literally putty in Maddy's hands and follows all the instructions laid down by his kidnapper aka Maddy! The pull and chemistry between the two is combustible and so innocent! I even read a few parts in the story twice. Mink made my heart giddy with delight with this book! The story-telling had its unique spin and she also made me laugh during the story too! A definite recommendation if you want something light between your heavy reads!
Final Verdict Title: 4/5 Cover: 4/5 Plot:4.25/5 Characters:4.5/5 Language and Vocabulary: 4/5 Final overall rating:4.25 /5
Safety Info: Totally safe. No mention of H’s past. It’s not specifically stated but implied that h is a virgin. Teeny tiny blip of OW drama but not really. Lachlan is all about his Kitten.
Hero: Lachlan, age not stated, head of Scottish mafia type organization
Heroine: Maddie, age not stated, owns a shop for cat stuff
OW Drama: Not really. The woman was someone whose father wanted Lachlan to marry. She tried to stake a claim on him but he’s never touched or wanted her.
OM Drama: Again, not really. She’s in witness protection and her handler turns out to be obsessed with her but she’s never wanted him in any kind of romantic way.
3rd Act Breakup/Separation: None
HEA/Epilogue: Epilogue showing them married and she’s pregnant with triplets. It doesn’t say how far into the future the epilogue takes place.
My Thoughts: Well this was just delightful. A short, fluffy story with instalove, an OTT/Protective H and an innocent and naive h. It was actually pretty funny too. Towards the end it went more to the cheesy side but whatever.

A really innocent and naive girl who "kidnapped" the bad guy but the truth is that she is just a sweet pie who can't bring herself to say a bad word? Sign me up!!
This was a fast and fun novella, I can't stop laughing when Maddy thought she was being a bad girl by kidnapping the H and his driver when in reality the H was just having some fun with her😂
Really, sweet, laugh out loud funny and steamy.Lachlan is dreamy and a bit dangerous. What a great combo. Every time Maddy opens her mouth, it’s funny. Great HEA.
This book was so good! It had everything! An innocent sunshiny heroine who you can’t help but giggle at (in the best way) and the alpha male she brings to his knees. Oh and of course cats! After being shaked down for protection money Maddy naively believes she kindnaps one of the Lucenzio’s enforcers and demands he make his boss stop demanding protection money. Little does she know she actually has “kidnapped” rival mob boss Lachlan who takes one look at her and declares her his “kitten.” He brings her home and spoils her all while keeping her safe from her past and the Lucenzio family. Such a fantastic book!
A safe, sweet, steamy, romantic and funny story😍😍😍 I loved how sweet and J/P was with his woman. Insta love with great characters and a sweet HEA. I really hope that Callum will get his story as well 😉 And WAP couldn't stop laughing for several minutes😂😂😂
Maddy thought Lachlan was Lucenzio who was threatening her to give money and she tried to kidnap him which was funny as she couldn't even a fly. Well, there also a fact that Lachlan let her think that she indeed kidnapped him because he was intrigued by her innocence and so he played along. Maddy told him about her life being in danger because of her being a witness of something and she was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Lachlan offered her his protection as well as took care of the situation. He and Maddy got closer more and more. Then Maddy saw the girls Lachlan saved from trafficking and thought the worse of him and called the FBI guy who was protecting her before. But he kidnapped her instead. Good thing Lachlan saved her ass. They cleared all the misunderstandings.
That's what making it hard for me to accept this particular line. Maybe I'm fussing over nothing. But still.
Another amazing book from Mink! She can write a story that has one laughing and swooning at the same time!
I loved the quirkiness and innocence and sweet naïveté of the heroine—and the hero’s desire to protect and claim and cherish those qualities.
Hero’s past isn’t mentioned. Heroine untouched, belongs only to the hero. No cheating of any kind. No ow/om drama. No abuse. Possible trigger: there is mention of women who have been saved from sex trafficking. Epilogue with HEA.
DNF . . . . . . The heroine was too dumb for me to be able to enjoy it. I do not enjoy reading heroines that are 18-26 that act like they’re 9. Who finds that cute?
