Two people used to having everything will have to figure out how to survive with nothing...

It's the road trip from hell for business tycoons—and long-time rivals—Nate Etherley and Cece Kerr. To convince the owner of the viral new app Byways to sell, they'll have to use the app to take a backroads trip from San Francisco to Taos—with no phones, credit cards, or five-star hotels to bail them out. From truck stop coffee and flat tires to stars in the desert sky, they've got a lot to learn—about themselves, and each other.

They'll either kill each other...or fall in love.

I wrote my first book when I was in high school--a romance called "A Wild and Stormy Passion," which featured swordplay, kidnapping, a pirate heroine, and lots of naughty bits (that came entirely from my adolescent imagination!). Since then, I've written young adult novels and adult romances of the category, contemporary, and fantasy varieties. My books are romantic and sensual. I like strong women and strong men and the sparks that fly when they get together.

I am a dabbler and an emotional sponge. I can't read scary books or anything with an unhappy ending. I reserve the right to enjoy country music, puppies, true love, and happily ever after.

If you're perusing my Goodreads shelves, you should know I only review books I want to share the word about. If you ask me, life's too short to read something you don't enjoy.

I loved this book. It spoke to me on so many levels. First off, it's an enemies-to-lovers story, one of my favorite tropes, and wow, do these two ever bring that to life. The tension and animosity, the snippy banter, the one-upmanship; they're all fully evident whenever Cece and Nate are in the same area. But there's much more to each of them than one would think, an unanticipated sweetness and vulnerability, an unexpected opportunity for reflection and growth, hidden depths that Scott slowly and skillfully unveils during their five-day road trip from hell that turns into something neither expected, nor wanted, but can't deny. I couldn't get enough of it, or them. Their beautifully written story had me laughing, crying, aching, and sighing. I've already read it twice. I have no doubt I'll be reading it again in the future. It's just that good.

Redemption by Inara Scott is the third in the Bad Angels series, about the founders of one of Silicon Valley's hottest venture capital boutiques. In order to secure the approval of a company's sale, Nate Etherley and Cecelia Kerr agree to a road trip using the Byways company's app, which means not only taking the route suggested by the app and staying at the locations provided by the app's participants, but also mostly unplugging otherwise, and sticking to a small budget in order to get the full off-the-grid experience.

For two people very accustomed to the fast-paced, plugged in life? That won't even be their biggest challenge. Nate and Cece have long been rivals, behaving civilly for the sake of their mutual friends. The confined car and the other restrictions severely test the limits of their relationship, as it were.

Inara Scott's characters shine in this road-trip, rivals-to-lovers story. Nate and Cece are unwillingly partners in this escapade, and it's truly a delight to see them getting to know each other as well as discovering some truths about themselves along the way. The secondary characters are well drawn and terrific as well, from their Byways hosts to their friends and co-workers.

I ended up devouring Redemption, floating on a cloud of happy. Ms. Scott did a beautiful job with Cece and Nate’s story, and letting us see what vulnerabilities they hid, and what glorious possibilities lay before them if only they were brave enough...

Redemption is a fabulous, satisfying story, and a terrific close to the Bad Angels trilogy.

editing issues are not usually something I pay much attention to. however, the editing on this book was very, very bad. Sometimes it was like it was not even english.
