And as soon as I finish one the next is downloaded. I’ve seen a few people talk a little about how it reads as a stoic diary. But that is the point, Simon isn’t here to put his opinions on to you, he is allowing the reader to draw their own conclusions by telling you about things that happen in max security. I really do enjoy these books and the content, the only thing I want to know is if when a crook attacks an officer they get a special dealing with before being transferred, haha. Thank you for writing these books Mr King and being so open and honest. Oh, and RIP Roland.
As someone who hasn't even visited someone in prison this books hold hold a huge fascination of a subject I am glad to say I no nothing about, and that in turn holds the appeal. Although a shorter book than normal I was delighted to hear that Simon is going to run to 12 books instead of the intended 10. As always I immensely enjoyed the book, but did find it some what on the short side. That is the only criticism I can give, I thought I would be spending most of my day stuck inside the book, but had finished it within half an hour. A great half an hour, but was left wanting more!
I have read every book in the series so far, and every time I finish one I am keen to get stuck into the next!
These books are a fascinating insight into what really happens in prisons, what prison officers deal with on a daily basis, and the curious dynamics of the penal tinderbox. In turns shocking, hilarious, sad appalling in terms of actual incidents officers find themselves dealing with, these books are thoroughly engrossing.
