Grab the entire bestselling INTERN Serials all in one complete set! Vol. 1-3, including After the Internship. Over 140,000 words and 830 paperback pages.
Vol. 1 She’s sexy, fierce, and a loud-mouthed know-it-all…and she’s completely off limits.
Cecilia isn’t your typical college student. Hell, she isn’t a college student at all, but that doesn’t stop her from applying for one of the biggest and prestigious enterprises in the Midwest.
She wants it. She takes it. She doesn’t let anything get in her way when it comes to finding out the truth.
When Bentley Leighton, soon-to-be CEO of Leighton Enterprises, meets “Ceci,” he’s instantly impressed. He doesn’t have time to train a new intern. However, when he sees her that first day, his intentions begin to change.
He’s the boss. She’s the intern. Nothing can happen. It’s against the company rules.
Then again, rules were made to be broken.
What starts as innocent flirting becomes raveled up into so much more—secrets, lies, deceit.
Vol. 2 My cock noticed her before I did. She came out of nowhere. Completely unexpected.
And I let her in...unwillingly. But she gave me no choice. She sledgehammered my thick walls, leaving me charmed by her knowledge, and seduced by her beauty.
I was captivated.
And now...it was about to tumble down in a tsunami of lies. Uncertainty riveted my core as my anger spread...she was impossible to forget. After all, she was still my intern.
Forbidden. Lust. Betrayal.
I felt all of those things for her at once. But only one would destroy us.
Vol. 3 I should’ve known. I should’ve listened to my gut. But I didn’t. I listened with the wrong head. And where did it get me?
Secrets. Lies. Deceit.
She embodied them all. Deceived her way into my company. Lied about who she was. Kept secrets from me after convincing me I could trust her.
Those walls she tore down are back up in full force.
Cold. Angry. Unforgiving.
She was no longer my intern. She was no longer mine.
After the Internship Sometimes happily ever after isn't quite what it seems.
Bentley and Ceci thought they had their happy ending, but not everything or everyone will be as it seems. Fortune and fame have a price, and when the past comes back to ruin their perfectly, stable family, how will they recover their once epic love story?
You thought their story was over, but it was only the beginning.
Just so-so. Parts of the story were good, but there was something a bit juvenile about the writing and especially some of the dialogue. I could try and analyze it, but it was what it was: a pretty good, dual POV 3-parter serial about a boss and his intern. Not a bad read, but not a great one either. This includes the spicy bits, which came across as very tepid.
That said, this is the story of eighteen year old Ceci, who lost her father in a drive-by when she was 11. She is consumed by the need to solve the mystery of his death. Desperate, she fakes her way into an internship at a company that looks into murders and keeps track of coverage and info available. Sounds very cool. Anyway, of course, the heir to this investigative company is a 20-something, once scorned, hottie who she feels an instant connection to. Boy, will he be pissed when he discovers who she is and why she's there.
Ah, young love. Scores points for the interesting story and underlying mystery.
You just can't get enough of the very hot and sexy Bentley or the go for it all Cecilia. When these two get together it melts all the pages in the book. I love this story from the interview to the very end. Greatly written and well though out love story!
This was an ok read with a great deal of bending over involved for the heroine lol. I did feel invested in Ceci and Bentley's story. The writing felt immature and the secondary characters too well planned...I understand you are writing unrealistic stories with unlikely happily ever after scenarios....but in this series every ex and every fling got their own happily ever after in the same group of friends was kind of weird...but I guess that was not the only weird thing about the series. I enjoyed the mindless reading anyways. Read at your own risk :).
This series was an awesome series..Bentley and Ceci are awesome..this series is full of lust, contempt, passion, betrayal and love..it is a roller coaster of emotions..Brooke brings so much life to the characters you feel as though you are in the story going through the emotions of the characters..and make sure you read the final installment to this series After The Internship for the conclusion of Bentley and Ceci journey..awesome writing by an amazing talented writer..you rock Brooke..
THIS WAS SO GOOD! I loved book 1, they gave in so fast and to say they least they couldn’t keep their hands off each other. I liked the whole twist of Ceci having a secret to land her internship, but I did not expect for Bentley to find out the way he did. Book 2 was lighter, there was a time jump, but they learned that they couldn’t live without one another. Book 3 frustrated me UGH, I didn’t like that Bentley was always working, the man didn’t even have time for himself and to be honest both of them were keeping things from each other and they weren’t communicating so that made the relationship rocky. I’m glad they figured things out and got their happy ending! They were too cute!
This box set was absolutely amazing. I loved the banter and humor between Cecilia and Bentley, though there wasn't enough suspense in the story line for me. The heartache Cecilia goes through while trying to figure out who killed her father was just a little crazy. And that twist I so did not see coming! It was a good read! Happy reading 🍷🌃👪📚
I just fell in love with Bentley and Ceci beautiful couple ! Great series Ceci would stop at nothing to find out the truth and when she does its not what she expected. I recommend this series!
Then the story ends on a HEA at 65% and I'm like - wth? That was sudden and how could there be 35% left for a 0.5 novella. Well there is and if you end it at this point and think "I don't really need to know anymore" then YOU ARE RIGHT!! You do NOT need to read any further. The rest is pure garbage.
BLAH....more random drama, surprise family member that comes out of NOWHERE relating to her father's death that sounds like complete random garbage and didn't needed to be added. STUPID!! ALL COMPLETELY STUPID!
An extra random HEA at the end.
Read if you have nothing else to read. There are some exciting parts but I won't keep this in my library to re-read. Also, there is more sex than story - which I can't stand so I skipped a majority of this story. I'm sorry but there is only so many times I can read "Oh God!"; "Yes, Bentley....Yes!" before I want to throw it from redundancy.
Meh. This series was pretty boring to me. I don't like relationships that are based on lies, I don't like heroines names Celia or Cecilia or Ceci. And she's named all three. That's usually a bitchy OW's name.
His hair is described as "dark blonde" then three pages later as "light brown". I guess you could say that on the spectrum these are the same colors? But you know, let's don't. He also "double majored in English and criminal justice". Then later, "a major in English and a minor in criminal justice". Which is it?
"Hero" whines about having to "settle down" at 26. Fucking selfish slacker.
This series also has lots of plot devices that make it carry forward. Plot devices are annoying, but even more annoying when they're too convenient. And in this series, they are. The hero has 3 different jobs throughout this series that all make him run into the heroine. Who also, conveniently, changes her future career plans into the one he finally chose in the end. Which, I might add, she had no idea about. Sounds confusing, yes? That's because it is so completely unbelievable.
The novella/epilogue was completely unnecessary. And utterly boring. I just didn't give any fucks. His mother? She was a pain in my ass. All the drama? Not needed. Why write this? What did it provide? Nothing.
Volume 1: Do you know what I love about Brooke Cumberland? Her addictive way of telling a romance story that has so much depth within the story. Cecilia has such an interesting history and I can't wait to continue this series so I can get the full story! This piece of magic features a strong and sexy man, who again, I NEED more of. Also, it is so sultry and steamy with the forbidden romance happening. Off to read number 2!
Volume 2:Holy sh*t! That ending. wow! Ceci and Bentley get closer as Ceci gets closer to the information she desperately wants. Again, Cumberland has a way with sucking you in and not. letting. go. I NEED to know what's next
Volume 3: Misunderstandings from both MCs ends up in so many emotions and sad moments. I LOVE the way this turned out, though. Wonderful. Both characters learned so much about themselves and each other along the way, and it made for great character development within the plot.
After the Internship: Perfect, Perfect, Perfect. The ups and downs are so realistic, well may be not the details because I've never been famous so I don't know all about that. however, all couples have highs and lows and I LOVE that Ceci and Bentley had them as well. Learning more about both of their lives outside of one another was so interesting and the ending was perfect!
This started off strong – I really enjoyed the mystery element behind this as well as the romance which was a nice surprise. It was interesting to be able to follow along with Ceci and her investigation to what had happened to her dad however I have to say that the reveal was a bit disappointing. It just seemed really ridiculous and far-fetched, like really? That’s how and why he died?!
I felt as it neared the end, especially in the “After the internship” novella, it just seemed to drag on – every plot device was used in order to try and pull the story along and it was just too much. he last third of the book was just so sex filled – it was as if the author couldn’t write any filler story and was just instead filling it with sex scenes which got very repetitive.
This was a free kindle download on Amazon Kindle and as mentioned, I really enjoyed the first 3 volumes and I would have given this 4 stars had it not been for the “After the Internship” instalment so I would definitely say it’s worth the download if only for the first 3 novella’s in the series!
I enjoyed this series, mainly because of the rocking sex scenes. This book is definitely one to get you hot and bothered.
In Part One, I found it extremely difficult to relate to Cecilia. She was manipulative and a liar, two traits that are hard to like in the lead character, regardless of the reasoning. Although, she showed great remorse for her actions, so she wasn't completely unredeemable.
Bentley was everything I enjoy in an alpha male. He had to right amount of asshole mixed with a healthy dose of hot and caring. He was very easy to love. Once he and Ceci got their heads out of their asses, his devotion to Ceci was very admirable.
Overall, it was an enjoyable read. There were certain scenes that I had little patience to read through because it felt like I was getting bored. But still a great read. It may've been different if I didn't try to read the parts one after the other, especially the novella at the end.
The Intern series was so enjoyable! The attraction between Ceci & Bentley was undeniably hot, the steam levels were off the charts! The story starts off with a bit of sadness a broken hearted young Ceci looking for answers. There's a bit of mystery to the story as well as intrigue. When she meets Bentley the sparks start to fly and the drama unfolds. There is never a dull moment and plenty of erotic ones! The dual POV's are well done and adds so much to the story. I've discovered a new favorite author, Brooke Cumberland!
I read book one before purchasing the complete series. Unfortunately it didn't get better. The editing could have been better, but if the story had been good, one could ignore that. I found it to be boring and completely unrealistic. It felt drawn out and (I can't believe I'm saying this) but the sex scenes got to be boring and excessive. I wish I had stopped at book one.
I liked the story, Ceci doing whatever was necessary to find out about her dad, not meaning to fall in love with Bentley or hurt him in order to do that. The sex in the book was hot and very descriptive but it got to a point where there seemed to be too much of it. IKR? Too much sex in a book? Yes, it turned into every other page it seemed like and I think after a while it detracted from the story.
An absolute fantastic read. Loved, loved, loved it. Bentley is just wow. Him and Ceci makes a fantastic couple. Glad that she was able to find a closure in the death of her dad and a connection with family.
I like that the book/serial was able to tell the story of Bentley and Ceci from the start and years after. All their loved up moments, break ups and expansion of their love. The other character in the serial also add up to a brilliant read and I'll highly recommend.
This was a very enjoyable series. I certainly would have loved an internship like Cecelia's! I sat down and read it all in one afternoon/evening. The storyline was great. I really like how you got to meet a lot of Ceci's friends and family and all their interactions and relationships. The series was plenty steamy if that's what you are looking for. But the story was really good too. Another winner from Brooke Cumberland! I wouldn't expect anything less
The Intern serials was a great set of books by Brooke Cumberland. I loved reading Cecilia and Bentley's story. Cecilia was a character that you instantly fall in love with and want everything good to happen to her. Bentley is a guy who always gets what he wants. This was a great journey to see Cecilia and Bentley go on together. I recommend this book to everyone. I cant wait to read more by Brooke Cumberland.
This series was awesome! I read it over the fall on a cruise and I literally could not put it down! I am such a fan, I loved every twist and turn and the development over time. I love that it didn't always end with a HEA and that they had to fight for their relationship. Beautifully written, I would recommend it to everyone! Plus, it was STEAMY hot.
Great read, loved Bentley & Cecelia's story. Its amazing how someone can change your life during just a simple interview. Lol their love isn't perfect by what is. They fight for each other to get their happily ever after & eventually they do. Can't wait for Cora & Simons story.
I honestly loved all books, but felt it could've been wrapped up in book three. Book 3.5 was super long when I was actually thinking it'd be a hundred pages so to me it dragged a little but overall - great series. Bentley was just straight up super man, he everything you'd want in a book boyfriend.
3.5 stars. This author redeemed herself after DNFing Spark. I liked the chemistry between Bentley and Cecilia but I really thought that the story line with Cecilia's dad would be more developed. I felt that it had a lot of potential, but underwhelmed at the end. At least, I'm left with a decent taste in my mouth, so I'd be up for checking the author's upcoming releases.
Sorry but this one was not for me. I could not hold the same interest through out all 3 books. I think the book had a good plot with the daughter trying to find out more about her father death through the internship. Somehow it just was all over the place in my opinion.
Could not at this down. Bentley was a man you could devour...yum Cecilia was head strong couldn't believe she was only 18 years old at the beginning. There was portion that the story slowed down and I was slightly bored though it picked back up.
What an awesome read... This author grabs your attention from the beginning and doesn't let go until the end! This is a great story line... You feel like your in the story the entire time...
