What if an AI was humanity's only hope of survival? When the survey ship Magellan is disabled in deep space, and its crew incapacitated, Deacon, a Model-H artificial lifeform, is tasked with returning them to safety. But to do so he must unravel a mystery on the edge of the known galaxy. As he pieces together the puzzle of Dead Space, he starts to question his own identity as an artificial lifeform, his experiences since his activation, and his devotion to his creators who are depending on him. Can he save the human crew, or will they perish hundreds of light-years from home?
