~He was her salvation, she was his oblivion.~

Penelope

My entire world shattered the day my mom’s twenty-one-year long lie blew up in her face.
If only that was the end of our family secrets and deceit.
Taken, manipulated, and used as a pawn in a political game, I didn’t think life could get more complicated.
That was until I ran into Dante again.
Once my lover, then my salvation, his wolfish eyes now look through me as if none of that ever mattered.

Dante

The day I left the Green Berets was the day I failed my comrades. There was only so much bullshit, loss, and destruction one could take, and I was foolish to think it would end when I hung up my uniform for good.
When Penny crashed into my life for the second time, not only did she have me torn between our past and the present, she created one helluva problem…
I want so much more than the contract with her father allows.

Dante and Penny.......holy hotness!

Oblivion was incredible!
The angst was just the right amount, less sexy times (then what I'm used to reading) but IT'S STILL SO DAMN HOT!
The military/brotherhood aspect of the story was captivating and beautiful, the way its written its real, you laugh (with them) you feel the betrayal (with them) you grieve (with them). The mystery and suspense, was unexpected surprise.
Vi Summers absolutely floored me wih this book, I know for a fact this is one I'll go back to.

Way…way more than 5 stars. This is THE book that needs to be read!! I have yet to be disappointed by this author and not only that but she even TOPS herself each and every time!! Blown away!!

I was a bit nervous going in only because I’m a VERY emotional reader and as much as I love a good cry I’m always nervous because I’m not sure what to expect. Dante is EVERYTHING and just seemed to just show his sexual appeal even without meaning to do it. So many emotions within the FIRST chapter, KEEP READING!! I did gulp and cry and take a deep breath and go back in because DANG WOMAN! Took my breath away! He goes through so much and it hurts my heart to know that thing happen. I loved him all the way…until a certain moment and you will know when that is.

Penny on the other hand ANNOYED the crap out of me and I judged so hard from the beginning. I never thought things would go a drastically as they did! I cried so much with her and for her but most importantly slowly fell for her too! She grows up throughout the book and it made my heart sing to watch it happen.

I am absolutely blown away by you each and every time! I am so honored I get to read your books!! I never knew I could feel so many emotions during one book! I seriously laughed, felt a sexy tingling, cried, got angry, scared and felt love all throughout this book! I’m seriously amazed by you every time! Congrats on your up coming best seller!!

OBLIVION was an addictive read ...

...that I have already read twice! Author Vi Summers absolutely nailed her contribution to Author Corinne Michaels’ Salvation Society world. Our hero, gorgeous alpha Green Beret Dante Bateman was on a Vegas boys trip when he met the stunning Penny Prescott who was also on a Vegas trip with her girls.

The chemistry between them blistered right from the moment he touched her hair on the dance floor. First kisses are always a favourite moment of mine, and theirs absolutely set fire 🔥🔥🔥 to the chemistry between them. A fire that continued through the night. It was so hot, that I was totally gutted when they said goodbye with no exchange of numbers in the morning!!!

Not long after, Dante refuses his opportunity to re-enlist with his team and this provided the opportunity for his seamless introduction into Jackson Cole’s Security business. He was the first and only Green Beret in the company of ex-SEALs and I loved the witty banter between the different military disciplines. Ms Summers is ex-military herself, and has first-hand experience of this life, it’s intensity, it’s party hard culture, and the loyalty between team mates that cannot mirror the friendships that civvies experience. This is evident in the quality and integrity of her writing.

During his first job with the Cole Security team, his path again crosses with Penny’s, and it becomes a forbidden bodyguard-client enforced-proximity protection situation. I loved watching them get to know each other again as friends and housemates all while trying to ignore the elephant in the room, aka, that blazing hot chemistry between them and the memories of one of the hottest nights for both of them.

OBLIVION is a fast-paced book that carries the same flavour as the originals in the Salvations Society series. It’s obviously ex-military and has something for all readers: age-gap, second-chances, forbidden, a little suspense and forced-proximity. Put this into Ms Summer’s writing style and OBLIVION is punchy, witty, laugh out loud hilarious and emotive. I bounced between squirming in my seat during Dante and Penny’s hot bedroom scenes, through laughter and most distressingly into hella ugly tears!! Once again, my family looked at me with the usual question in their eyes – “why the hell would you DO that to yourself???” Because in this case, it is a Vi Summers book, and hers are always must-reads. Absolute-compelling-make-others-read-them-must-reads and I’ll also be adding it to my top-reads-2022 bookshelf for sure.

If you’re loving the Salvations Society books and the multi-author series, then make sure to gift yourself this 5-Star read as well! ⚓💞✶

DANTE! The man had me from the first page! The moment he is introduced you can tell there is a lot to him and boy was there ever. He loves being a green beret, he loves his brothers and he is content. However, there are few things that happen that change the course of his plans. One of them he never expects and that is Penelope. She came out of out nowhere and he was instantly drawn to her.

There is so much chemistry between Dante and Penelope. I loved the two of them together. Despite growing up in different years and the 12 year age gap, they work together. They balance each other. However, it isn’t all smooth sailing and there is a lot of angst in this story.

The raw emotions and the real struggles in this story are what make it amazing. Dante has a lot he has seen and done, which has affected his life and made him who is today. Penelope also has a few struggles she has to work through and overcome. But together they can be the support they need and work through everything together.

If you’re looking for an age gap, military romance this is one to read!

Penelope
My entire world shattered the day my moms' twenty-one-year long lie blew up in her face. If only that was the end of our family secrets and deceit. Taken, manipulated and used as a pawn in a political game, I didn't think life could get more complicated. That was until I ran into Dante again. Once my lover, then my salvation, his wolfish eyes now look through me as if none of that ever mattered.
Dante
The day I left the green Berets was the day I failed my comrades. There was only so much bullshit, loss and destruction one could take, and I was foolish to think it would end when I hung up my uniform for good. When Penny crashed into my life for the second time, not only did she have me torn between our past and the present, she created on heck of a problem. I want so much more than the contract with her father allows.

Oh goodness you guys are going to fall so hard for Dante. Holy cow what a man he is. Dante is a man that loves being a green beret along with his brothers and is a very content man. But when his plans blow up in his face he has a lot of adjusting to do but he sure never expected to see Penelope again ever. This is a instant attraction to that you can feel just melt off the pages. Oh and there is a pretty good age gap between the two of them. From the moment they meet they are pure fire and balance each other out so perfectly. However this isn't a story about where everything go right just like it needs to be. That would have been to easy and here comes the angst of the story. I loved these two characters so much and I really loved the story they had to tell.

This book was written so well, and it grabbed my attention very quickly! I absolutely loved it. I enjoy the way the author is so descriptive with her words, I can visually picture what I read like a movie.

Dante & Penny are two very strong main characters who have been through some tough situations and come out dealing with them the best way they know how. Both are from different worlds and generations, but never have I loved an age gap more than I have with this story! They meet in Vegas and enjoy one memorable night of freedom, and like they say… “what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!” Or does it?!

Emotions ran high in this story for me. A few of the tough situations really had me tearing up and feeling for the characters. These issues could be a little triggering for some, but I do like that these particular topics were written about because they are very real life issues. The author tastefully and realistically gave us a view into how a person suffering from such mental & emotional trauma lives with & handles it.

I would absolutely recommend this book to everyone! I’ll be thinking about this story long after reading it.

Vi Summers is without a doubt one of the best Contemporary Romance authors I've read. She keeps surprising me with every book. Each one is different from the previous one and her way to execute each premise is simply flawless! Vi can write no wrong and this story goes above and beyond.

This love story is full of suspense, mystery, laughter, emotion, angst and a couple of plot twists that will leave you with your mouth open and will keep you glued to your kindle. I couldn't put this book down, it made me feel every emotion. My heart is still trying to come back to normal after this amazing emotional roller coaster!

Dante and Penny's story was so charged with heart and emotion. Their chemistry was to die for, flammable from the moment they laid eyes on each other. The events that led them to that meet-cute (or meet-hot, because OMG!) created the perfect scene for them to have this natural connection from the start.

I adored Dante, he was the best example of an honorable broken soul. His personality, his I-take-shit-from-no-one attitude, his loyalty and kindness made me fall in love with him from the first page. I loved how detailed Vi described his experience in the Army, his struggles, the love and brotherhood he shared with his unit and how much he was willing to sacrifice for the ones he cared about. I felt so hard for him and his mental health issues and his conflicts as a Veteran to try to find a new normal after serving for so many years. His pain was so real and his heart poured out of the pages. I loved how genuine his concern was for Penny and how funny the age gap between them came across through his eyes. Seeing him breaking down his own walls to let Penny in was the most beautiful thing and I loved the fact that he ended up finding peace and comfort in her.

"She'd woken something deep within me. Something pure and true and not easily found, and words simply couldn't express now my soul yearned for her."

Penny was such a badass, I loved the contrast between her strong will and her doubts and fears. She was a fighter, a woman who wanted to fight for her life and what she wanted to do. Even though many of the things she went through in the story broke her and scared her, she didn't give up easily. I loved how feisty and straightforward she was, especially with Dante. Not only because she made it clear how much she wanted him, but also because she wanted to be there for him. She felt safe with him in the physical sense, and she wanted him to feel safe with her emotionally and mentally. She was a firecracker but also was sweet, understanding and empathetic with him and it made my heart flutter because that's exactly what he needed.

"I'd never kissed to escape the grief of a broken heart. Never wanted to breathe in a man's very essence and fade into his body to become one. And never had I been moved to tears by the depth of emotion and affection of another person.

When I say these two made me feel everything, I really mean everything. They were constantly (and most of the time unintentionally) making each other laugh. It read so naturally and easy on page that it made me crack up when they were teasing each other or making jokes about their age gap. Their banter definitely showed the age difference but not in a weird way, rather, it was heartwarming, sweet and witty. Their constant flirting made me smile so hard and the hot scenes... *fans herself*, my goodness, were fantastic! Each time was even better, because they were running deeper into each other's hearts and it was the most romantic thing.

The plot twists and turning points in the story kept me biting my nails. I have to say, Vi really took Dante and Penny to their deepest and darkest places. I cried hard several times seeing them in their lowest. It made me cheer for them even more as they both helped each other to come back up and heal. So, tears of laughter, sadness, bitterness and joy were shed several times as they got their well deserved happy ending.

This book has everything I was expecting and more. It wasn't just a romance, it was a true love story about healing, hope and new beginnings that will make you feel inspired at the end, and a little sad because you will definitely want more! If you haven't read this book or anything that Vi has ever written, I suggest you do now, you will not be disappointed.

Many thanks to Vi Summers for gifting me an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. As always, blown away with your beautiful writing and poetic storytelling.

Oblivion is one of those stories that makes you step back a bit and think after reading it, even during the reading of it, as it brings up lots of issues that are worth pondering and an insight into military life, especially the mateship and camaraderie of the team. Many books have explored this aspect but none quite like this one. I found it difficult to put this fast-paced book down once I started, it really is that absorbing.

Be warned there are some extremely real, very raw emotions throughout this story that hit your heart like an enraged bull tearing it to pieces but so poignant, giving readers a bird’s eye view of different aspects of military life. Mind you there are also some very humorous scenes as well that had me chuckling out loud. My ire for certain characters held no bounds and I am positive my blood pressure rose a time or two in my disgust—such is the incredible detailed descriptions by this author.

The lead characters are so different that they work! Dante is one gorgeous hunk but he is so much more and this comes out clearly as his character profile is build up. Penelope is a young, spoilt miss yet she isn’t! It is great to see her growth throughout the story.

The story has an element of mystery that is a surprise when revealed, gotta love it when that happens. More happens but 🤐my lips are sealed! 😆 Let’s just say—you need to read this story! 😉

Oblivion had me on the edge of my seat right from the get go. This age gap romance has Dante and Penny’s lives turned upside down. As a chance meeting in Vegas between Dante and Penny has their chemistry shining brighter than the streets of Vegas the passion and heat will be felt across your skin. Their story should have been one memorable night but when their paths cross again fate has a whole other plan. There was angst, witty banter, sweet moments, betrayal and plenty of drama. However it was also emotional and at times tore at your heart. Two people who needed love find each other on a rocky path to their forever.

Amazing

Wow!! I’m mind-blown right now. This story was everything I never knew I needed.

Penny and Dante are a force to be reckoned with in this story. Their chemistry is there from the very first moment they meet.

This author absolutely blew me away with her writing style. I laughed, I cried and I could see the words in my head, like I was watching a movie.

This is a absolute must read!!!

Holy Freakin Damn..... Vi Summers is coming in Hot in 2022!

Oblivion is a beautifully written age gap / forbidden protector romance story that heated up my Kindle and pulled at each and every one of my emotions.
Let me tell you....
Like a moth to flame, this story had my hooked from the first page until the very last oh my heart is happy word . It had the perfect blend of everything I love in a romantic suspense story.
The steam and chemistry between Penny and Dante is off the charts sizzling and the build up of their relationship is sweet and at times humorous. I mean come on Penny you may be younger but Nirvana are not old school (or are they? oh god am I old too? haha)
The mystery and suspense had me on edge, and the angst in this story slayed my poor heart (no it was not dust in my eye, it was ugly heart-aching tears).
The military / brotherhood aspect of the story was raw, real and truly heart touching. The banter between them had me laughing, their camaraderie and undying support for each other touched my heart, while the grief they shared slayed my poor heart.

aahhh Penny and Dante...their may be a 12 year age gap between them, but age is just a number right? Because I loved these two together and for each other, they balance each other perfectly.

I absolutely devoured and recommend this read!

Vi Summers is without a doubt a true gem when it comes to suspense, sass and steam.
Oblivion has been one of my favorite reads from her proverbial pen.
Penelope (Penny) has made it to what should be banner year for her - 21st Birthday!
Instead, she is hit with a secret that will rock her world and send her running with her friends to Las Vegas and a weekend with a man that makes her forget all her woes.
Dante is a true hero, a Green Beret. He's loyal to his military family but someone has broken rank and caused him to question remaining in service. He and his band of brothers decide to spend a night in Las Vegas. It is here that he meets Penny and she calms his soul and yet sets his world on fire.
The two left the once in a lifetime night carrying the life changing memories with them.
Fate has a different plan for them and they are thrown together once again but this time it is not for pleasure but rather out of necessity and fear. Hold onto your hats for this wild ride of intrigue and suspense. Oh lets not forget the steam!

You know how the saying goes when you want to get over someone, get under someone new, or something like that and when all hell broke loose for both Penny and Dante, Vegas was the answer and that is exactly what they did. Complete opposites and twelve years her senior he couldn’t help himself when he spotted her and one night was all it was supposed to be.

Dante never expected to see Penny again and his new job with Cole Security brought him straight to her and now all he needed to do was find her.

I loved their story, the age gap, the sass mouthed girl and her pink mini Penny. I literally laughed out loud while reading because I could actually picture Dante laughing with me. The cute nicknames they had for each other, thumor and the banter between them was amazing as well as the chemistry, the love and the emotions they both shared for each other was off the charts. There is always a bumpy road before you find your happiness and when you do you grab it and don’t let go.

Oblivion by Vi Summers

Oh wow another great addition to The Salvation Society. Another great story from a new great author. This age gap romance was Dante and Penny’s story. We get a glimpse at how their lives are turned upside down. This story had me at the edge of my seat from the start. This author gives us so much in her story telling. We get some angst along with witty banter. We get some great alpha males yet we get some sweet moments. There is betrayal and plenty of drama in this story to have you fully engaged. However it gives you some very emotional things and for some even triggering subjects that at times tore at your heart throughout the book. It’s a great story of two people who needed love and find it in each other when they least expect it and sends them on a rocky path to their forever. Highly recommend this book to everyone so worth it.

A sizzling, forbidden protector romance.

Vi does romantic suspense like no other. Steam, too. HOT. DAMN. These two will melt your Kindle.

With Oblivion, you'll get military camaraderie, a creepy villain (or two), strong alpha vibes, age gap. Did I mention h e a t? There are dark and light moments, instances of both tenderness and raw need. A beautiful romance in contrasts, sprinkled with heart break and ultimate redemption.

I haven't read anything of Corinne Michaels, and this book takes place in her world, but I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not having that context. The book is beautiful and heart-wrenching all on its own.

Highly recommend for lovers of romantic suspense, growly sexual tension that explodes, and forbidden vibes. Another scorching book from Vi Summers!

A highly anticipated must read!

You know the saying “I licked it, so it’s mine”? I’m totally claiming Dante for myself ;)

This is this authors most powerfully written book yet! An unputadownable read!
From the very beginning I was entranced. I knew deep within my soul this would be something special.
There are so many obstacles you’ll face in life; Dante and Penny definitely had theirs in spades.
The way their story was told held you captive. Every heart beat was near out of my chest. The humour left me in complete hysterics. The tears were real.
I fell in love with all of it and could not find one fault or one moment of uncertainty. Everything about this is perfection!!
This comes highly recommended.

Dante Bateman is a Green Beret who has been in the hot seat to put someone in his unit away for his war crimes. When things don't go his way he and his group of hilarious friends decide to do a weekend trip to Vegas. I mean what happens in Vegas stays there right? When Dante meets Penny Prescott the sparks are flying and so are their clothes. One weekend was all it took for these two to have the time of their lives. Now months later they are about to be thrown back together. The problem is someone is after Penny and it's up to Dante to watch over here. What happens though when Dante's unit is shaken up and Penny gets the reveal of heartache? Can these two overcome everything and fall in love and live happily ever after?

Wow such a fantastic book. I loved Penny and Dante, such amazing characters. First encounter is a steamy red hot one night stand and than while working for Cole security he is hired to find her after being kidnapped and then Dante finds out that he has to do 24hr security protection on her. Talking about bringing on the heat. They find themselves trying to keep their hands to themselves which is easier said than done. If you like suspense and stories that keep you on the edge of your seat this is it. AND the side characters are fantastic. I absolutely loved this book. I don't care what genre this author writes she nails it. Highly recommend this book.

Oblivion: A salvation society novel

Voluntary read and reviewed for author.
Dante and Penny are hot steamy and so right for each other. This novel grabbed me by the heart and just keep pulling at it, scenes that needed to be hot were more then hot and some even required a cool down afterwards.

So this novel is part of the Salvation series and it blend in just perfect with that series(have read a few lost count of how many now)
This novel also has connection to Vi summers previous novel but can be read as a stand alone just like all the other novels in the Salvation society collection.

Do yourself a favourite pick it up and just enjoy it for all it is.
Loved it. 5 stars

This story is one of those books that you cant explain too much or you would give away the whole plot of the story and also cause it was such a good story to read that you want people to read the story 😊

Dante and Penny were totally meant to be. And their chemistry was freaking off the charts.
This story is filled with drama, romance and suspense and some heartbreaking moments and lots of angst and lately this is exactly what I love. It is also filled with lots of sexual tension and if you love these type of stories you will be hooked from the get to. And bonus its part of Corinne Michaels’s Salvation series 😊

Dante and Penny's book takes you from Vegas, to Fort Campbell, to San Diego. They met in Vegas had a one night fling, he was on the rebound, and she was there to have a good time after a disastrous birthday. Months later after he left the Army and went to work for Cole security and when he got his first job it was for Penny. Penny and Dante take you on a read the defies the odds, you will be pulled into it and thur it all it will blow your mind and take your emotions form one extreme to the next. I was amazed with their story and wanted so much more. I so can't wait to read more from this author. She gives you everything and more.

Dante just pulled you in from the first page! He loves being a Green Beret with his brothers, they go to Vegas for a guys weekend!

Dante ends up meeting a girl named Penny, she was with her girlfriends they went to Vegas for a girls weekend to celebrate her 21st birthday! They had a one night stand where they wouldn’t see each other again, because what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas!

Dante and his brothers return back to Fort Campbell Kentucky, things change that Dante doesn’t sign back up for the Army. That change puts Dante back in the path of Penny!

The author should be very very proud of the book baby she just let out into the world.
Her having personal experience to what can be a confronting subject matter really showed by the way she handled it with grace and dignity and made you feel like you were right there beside then experiencing their highest of highs lowest of lows.
Have tried writing this several times but these characters deserve to have their story told first hand.
I highly recommend that you one click immediately as it's the perfect addition to this multi author world.

idk how to feel abt this bc i really wanted to like this book but it was a bit disappointing.

one night stand turned more, bodyguard, forced proximity + age-gap could’ve been done sooo well in this but it seemed like some of the drama just dragged on in the last 20ish% and things were being forgotten. truly a waste of such excellent tropes :(

+ penny really saved this bc dante started annoying me halfway through the book.
