Never give your heart to a dragon.

Witley Pennmore, the wickedest witch of the east coast, is finished with mages, but she’s required to marry a peer and become respectable or lose her seat in the senior council, the eminent ruling body of our world. Hated by the lower council, whose corrupt members she’d been picking off one by one, she’s framed for murder and forced to retreat into Darkside until she can gather enough ammunition to face her accusers and bring them down once and for all.

Unfortunately, the only place she can hide is in the Golden Inn, an almost civilized haven with hot running water between two and four pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The owner of the Inn is Ian Featherwell, the Golden Dragonlord of Lust who broke her heart before she learned not to have one. Out of all the bars and all the gin joints in the world...

Sparks and glitter will fly in the epic battle, witch vs. mage and lust vs. love.

This is a well written book with a cast of strong characters and an entertaining story line. The author does a great job developing the story and moving it fluidly with her perfectly painted scenes. I was glued to the pages reading this book. Loved and recommend reading.

Loved this book

I am a huge fan of Darkly Sweet and loved this continuation of Wit’s story. This author’s writing style is creative, descriptive, and fast-paced. I like that there is a lot of dialogue between the characters. Wit is charged with murder and you follow the story throughout all the incredible Dayside and Darkside places while she collects evidence and makes deals. Wit’s character is so snarky and cool. She’s the wickedest Wit. She hates Ian and his dragon for something that happened a long time ago. But they still have a raging desire for each other. This tension burns throughout novel in a good way ;). You won’t want to miss the ending. The arc ended in a good way for now but still left things open for a sequel.

Wit and Ian's Story . . .

This is an intriguing book with strong characters that get the reader’s attention, and an entertaining story line to keep you paying attention. The story is well-paced.

Witley Pennmore (“Wit”), the wickedest witch of the east coast, is charged with murder and we are taken on the trail with her as she gathers evidence against the actual culprits for eventual retaliation. She is hiding out at the Golden Inn, owned by Ian Featherwell. I loved her interactions with the “Golden Dragonlord of Lust” who had broken her heart long ago, yet she can’t seem to leave him alone. The ending will sneak up on you, so don’t miss it!

A book situated in an intriguing world with smart and daring characters. About Wit and Ian with a tormented past, everlasting love, great dialogs, fast paced and action packed.
Wit is accused of murder and she travels through Dayside and Darkside trying to find evidence about the real culprits and the reason so many sorcerers go mad in Darkside (and some in Dayside too). She meats some really weird characters, makes deals, fights her way out... Sometimes with the help of Ian, the golden dragonlord. A real rollercoaster book with an unexpected end. A great read!

I thoroughly enjoyed this fast-paced, sharp, and clever read. The worlds were rich and interesting, the characters intriguing and easy to love. I'm so glad that being familiar with the Darkly Sweet world wasn't needed to read and enjoy the tale of Wit and Ian, and I'm eager to go back and read the rest of the series. With every book I read by Juliann Whicker, I become more and more of a fan.

I really enjoyed this story. It was a hoot to read and kept me entertained. The characters and story itself just drew me in and kept me reading to see what would happen next. Was not sure in the beginning I liked the main character but she did grow on me. Action, danger, fast paced, fun characters, so a good entertaining read. Loved watching the buildup as Wit searches for clues.

When I got the opportunity to read Wit Worthy, I jumped at it. I dove in with high expectations after reading Whicker's Butcher Baker series, with it's string characters and deep storytelling. I was not disappointed. Juliann has written another fascinating story with great characters that grow in complexity as the story progresses, and immaculate worlds to get lost in.

I loves the sharp and cunning banter between characters, and now I want a little rat-dog of my own.

5 stars. I have been waiting for this story and I am happy to have read it. This book grabs your interest from the very beginning and keeps it until the end. If you have read any of the Rosewood Academy books you need to read this one as well. But you don't need to have read those books in order to read this one, but you will want to once you are done. Bring on the next book!

For fans of Juliann Whicker, this is her best book yet!. I couldn’t get enough between the romance and action and tension and vampires. You get to learn a little of Witley and Ian’s back story while trying to guess what the future will bring. You also will learn more about Darkside and its various areas. This book is so well written and a page turner that you won’t want to put it down. If you like romantic tension with a dark twist, you will love Wit Worthy. I can’t wait for the next book to come out!!

This book did the impossible. It made Ian my favorite dragonlord. Ian.

I actually started this book a few months ago right after finishing the Darkly Sweet series and I couldn't get into it. I'm glad I tried again. As a side note, read the Darkly Sweet books and accompanying novellas before reading this one. It won't make sense without the context.

But with the context, this might just be the best book in the combined series for its ability to intertwine world building, intense pining, and straight up soap opera plot lines.

Also it made me love Ian. Truly shocking.

Wonderful Wit

I loved reading this, to find out about this characters back story was fascinating. Bring on more of the Darkly Sweet world. I'm so enchanted with it. This author should be in the ranks of J.K. Rowling. She is a master story teller.

I slammed through all the books from this world back-to-back. The 4 books and 2 novellas of Darkly Sweet, then the 2 books of Wit the Wicked, then the 3 books of Arrietty in Underland. Each series corresponds to one of the 3 dragon lords. They were all very good. I'm a big fan of this author now.

I adored the Darkly Sweet books - they were ridiculous and funny in the very best ways, with some darker urban fantasy woven through. Penny is the primary character of Darkly Sweet and I adored her. Her love interest Drake (dragonlord of Violence) is also fantastically odd.

The Wit (Whitley) books were also very good, but Wit is a harder heroine to love. I listed to some of these books on Audible for free (virtual voice narration, but not horrible.) Ian is her love interest (dragonlord of Lust).

The Arrietty books were the most violent and edgy with a lot less humor than the other books, which I suppose makes sense for Prince, the dragonlord of Death.

Excited to jump into the next one!

So much going on in this book! It felt like it took a bit to get going, but once it did it we covered a lot of ground. It’s hard to not have lots of feels for Wit by the end of the book…learning more about her life/experiences makes her quite a bit more complicated (unsurprising) than we see in Penny’s books. And speaking of Penny, I enjoyed the scattered moments where we got to catch up a little with Darkly Sweet characters. Looking forward to seeing what other drama/angst Wit and Ian get themselves into in the next book!
