Margery Williams Bianco was an English-American author, primarily of popular children's books. A professional writer since the age of nineteen, she achieved lasting fame at forty-one with the 1922 publication of the classic that is her best-known work, The Velveteen Rabbit.
A little too simple/ simplistic, given how much talent is evident. That is to say, it's more likely to appeal to writers than to the psyche of the general population of fans of fables. The pictures are great, too... but again, too much for the superficiality of plot and theme. However, if you happen to get a chance to read it, it won't take long, and you might very well feel a special sympathy for it, and fall under its spell.
