About the author

Roberto Scarlato

137 books55 followers
Scarlato grew up in a small suburb of Chicago, where his love of a good story was cultivated by shows like “Alfred Hitchcock Presents” and “The Twilight Zone.” A bibliophile from the moment he learned to read, he began weaving together his own tales at an early age. The absurdity that accompanies the transition from childhood to adulthood only enriched his already profound creativity.

He married his high school sweetheart in 2010 and they live with their daughter, Sophia, and their cat, Bandit.

I'm sitting here wondering how am I going to write this review. I finished the book earlier but I can't get it out of my head at all. 'The Book That Doesn't Exist' by Roberto Scarlato has to be without a doubt one of the most thought provoking books I have read in a long time. It had me questioning decIsions I have made in the past and if I had the opportunity to change it for myself to have a different future, like Henry would I? I honestly don't know.
This is what stood out for me after reading this book but I believe that because I found it thought provoking that other readers may find different things that stood out for them or made them think differently to me.
This story revolves around Henry and his family. Henry finds an old manuscript that turns the family's world inside out and outside in and back again.
I loved the relationship dynamic between husband and wife, Henry and Sylvia especially as it showed ups and downs in a marraige as well as clear character development that is shown throughout the story. The author does an amazing job of captivating the reader in from the start with this unique gripping story.
I would highly recommend 'The Book That Doesn't Exist ' by Roberto Scarlato to all readers. It has now left me in a book funk wondering what I'm going to read now, knowing that whatever I do read won't live up to 'The Book That Doesn't Exist ' This book deserves 100 stars or more.
