A book that I think could inspire many and some chapters and passages hit hard. Some of the use of Scripture bugged me a little bit and maybe hindered me a bit from fully enjoying the book. It’s not necessarily the book’s fault, it might be just where I am in my walk right now. I’m not sure.

I had reservations for the book based upon its rather weighty title, however, Jamie does an incredible job of not only breaking down heavy weighty topics such as “Gods Relational Presence”, “your peace, identity and purpose” into simple enough bite sized concepts, but he does so through a warm, friendly, conversational and magnetic voice.
What I enjoy most about this book is that I can already see myself using it throughout my disciple making, both for those who are nubile in their faith and those who have begun to grow stagnant. This book is anathema to the downfall of the Western church which, despite the evangelical spirit which evolved here, does not seem to have remained with us. I am excited to see this book in the hands of more believers and more churches as it continues to tear the veil which religion has put back around Christ. I love that Jamie took the time to identify, describe, and analyze the Old covenant and it’s symbology vs the New covenant and to draw simple, scriptural revelations on what the new covenant can and should mean to us as believers today.
Whether you’re just now meeting your new friend Yeshua, or you’ve been walking with him for a while, this book will be refreshment in your walk.

Jamie Moore explains being God's partner in all we do.

Jamie Moore is a phenomenal writer, hitting the crux of the matter about how to enter into, stay in with, and shower others with God's friendship with each of us. He shows how it is possible to have a give - and - take relationship with God , each day, all day long, and even in the presence of others with God with us. He shows that conversation we can enter into with God is to be shared with others, each day, introducing them to God's presence and friendship, as God would like it.
A good, edifying and encouraging read that lifts up the Holy Trinity. Kudos, Jamie!

Eye-opening

I didn't give much thought on is God, my friend. For we all assume he is as he is our savor. And we go to him on good and bad days and trust him with all that we have. But this book looked at his friendship more profoundly and showing you how to turn things around to have a deeper connection. Which I know I need, and as I kept reading, I liked the “HERE I AM” and plan on putting that in my day to day routines. This book, I feel, is more than a one time read, and I recommend everyone read it and reflect as you go along. Great book!

Dr. Jamie Moore's book, "Friendship with God," is simple to read, yet chalk full of insight and life changing information. I really appreciated his ability to illustrate just how much Jesus wants to be my friend, and the great length, driven by deep desire, in which God will go to accomplish this. It's a must read. It will definitely impact your life and bring you closer to God.

Wow!!!

Absolutely amazing. Every believer should read this book and take notes. This is a super powerful book and I am so glad I was led to read this. God's timing is always perfect, I have had this book in my kindle list for a while and finally started reading it. I am in a kind of off season, being seperated from my husband for 7 months so far. It's been difficult. This book ignited a fire in me.

This is an amazing work that needs to be read several times. It literally changed my life. I believe that God put it in my path since I didn't seek it out, but stumbled upon it instead.

The main premise of the book is that you can experience God now. You shouldn't wait until you get to Heaven.

I now feel God with me wherever I go and whatever I do. I know that whether I experience Him or not has to do with my reception. It does not depend on my behavior, though. By simply believing, it is so. We may not believe that there are stars in the sky, on a cloudy night, but they are there whether we believe that or not. We take it on faith because we've experienced the stars before. Well, there are many instances of God intervening in our lives if we pay attention. The times that we don't sense His intervention don't mean He's not there.

All good friendships must include quality time invested, open communication, and shared activities (these remind me a bit of Gary Chapman's love languages). We get closer to God by putting aside moments in our day to intentionally experience His presence. We talk to Him by prayer and confession, worship, and simply sharing our heart and our questions. More importantly, we listen to what He says to us through the Word, sermons, books and shows, other people, and patterns. Then we act, in accordance to His will, and make a difference in the Kingdom (in the Body) in whatever He has for us. We do it together.

God once walked with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden because He was friends with them. Jesus has made it possible for Him to be friends with us now. It's as simple as believing it is so . So start talking to Him today about whatever secrets are on your heart. Look for patterns in your Word reading and other circumstances to see what He is telling you. It will get easier to discern His presence. Just surround yourself with whatever helps you connect with Him.

May God bless whomever reads this book and seeks Him.

I read this book via an Amazon KU [KINDLE Unlimited] download.

As I read this book, I couldn't help hearing the essence of a song playing in my mind; the song is "What a Friend We Have in Jesus."

What a friend we have in Jesus
All our sins and griefs to bear
What a privilege to carry
Everything to God in prayer

Oh, what peace we often forfeit
Oh, what needless pain we bear
All because we do not carry
Everything to God in prayer

Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged
Take it to the Lord in prayer

Can we find a friend so faithful
Who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness
Take it to the Lord in prayer.

Before I began my journey in trying to be a good Christian woman two years ago, at the age of 69, after being inspired by publishing my first two Christian books, the relationship I had with the Lord was non-existent. However, after I began my relationship and discovered the message of the above song, the song changed, playing in my mind changed and became the words of Walk in the Garden.
I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear, falling on my ear
The son of God discloses

And he walks with me
And he talks with me
And he tells me I am his own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known

I'd stay in the garden with him
Though the night around me is falling
But he bids me go
Through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

The transformation that I've experienced by developing a relationship [friendship] with the Lord is akin to what Mr. Moore desires to occur in the lives of his readers as they read his book, which is why I've given him 5 STARS for his endeavor here.

**Beautiful pearls of wisdom**

This was a very simple yet potent reminder of what it is to not only have a friendship with God, but how to properly cultivate it if you feel like you don't. I especially appreciated that it can be embraced by both Christians and non-Christians alike, the ones who may be curious or intrigued by what a life with Jesus could entail. I love that this author uses Biblical means to showcase God's love in ways that are easy to digest and understand. There are Biblical references throughout, but also anecdotes that are equally compelling.

I have no complaints about this book and its message, other than maybe wishing it was longer. It was very easy to get through, but I wouldn't have minded being buried even more deeply in the loveliness of it. I will think on it as often as I can, especially speaking as someone who has lost my way in more ways than I care to admit. How often do I, even as a Christian, think about friendship with God? This should already be the norm for me, but it's just so easy to get distracted.

Thanks for the reminder, Jamie Moore. For the moments that stood out enough to me to warant a highlight, click here.

This book is one of the best books I’ve read on what it means to live in the Lord’s presence every day. Jamie makes it very simple yet profound. One of my favorite parts of the book was when he discusses resting in the Lord’s presence and he talks about being silent with the Lord. And he reminds the reader that “You know you’re growing in friendship with someone when you can sit together in silence and just be together.” He reminds us of the simple realities of our human nature and how it can transform our spiritual lives when put into practice. My relationship with the Lord will never be the same.

transformational

I have had a life long struggle with feeling as if I was bad, unworthy and not fit to enter a church, during a recent bout with chaos surrounding me I finally sought out a relationship with God. Shortly after I started my pursuit of this relationship I found this book and it was a road map for me to follow. I just ordered the 40 day journal and can’t wait to get started.

DNF! This book is heretical when it constantly talks about „go seek the FACE of God“ and not taking about the fact that the Decalogue tells us to not do that, and also not the fact that God is bigger/higher than anything else imaginable (cf Anselm of Canterbury).

Additionally, the book mentions the beginning of the church in the New Testament, but DOES NOT (!) mention Peter who is the stone upon which Jesus will build his church.

On top of all of that, it is religion-phobic.

For me this book revealed that I was studying the Bible for knowledge and not working on my relationship with God as I should be. It made a difference in my life and I recommend it to everyone. Now I am trying to put some of what I learned into practice.
