Secrets Wounded Heroes Series, Book 4 By: Anne Patrick Narrated by: Leonor A. Woodworth
The Wounded Heroes series is fantastic. Each book follows a friend of a group of veterans and this one features Caleb. Injured in the line of duty, he is now acclimating to civilian life. Taking a job to follow Abby's cheating fiancé not only finds him guilty, but also someone is trying to kill Abby. Abby is a real estate agent, and taking on the biggest sale of her agency will bring an economic boom to her town. But when she begins to delve into it, things begin to get dangerous. With the help of Caleb, she hopes to find out what is going on. What a fun, suspenseful love story! Family intrigue, murder, theft, and faith all come into play in another amazing story.
Leonor A Woodworth brings this series to life with her calm, soothing voice. I love her ability to be in tune with her characters and find the perfect nuances to make them each realistic. Another wonderful listen and I can't wait for more.

I really enjoyed getting to know Caleb and Abby. The storyline of family disfunction took twists and turns that captured my attention. I loved the Christian basis of love, family and forgiveness. Thank you Anne Patrick for a very enjoyable story.
Riveting, action, adventure, and romance all in one book with a Christian overview that maintained my attention throughout, right up to the surprised ending.
Caleb Malone returns to the states to recover after being wounded in combat. He decides to take a job working for his brother's PI firm. His first assignment sends him to the town of Keaton. A father suspects his daughter's fiance' is cheating on her but he needs proof. All Caleb has to do is get a few pictures, which might be easier said than done. Abby Hughes works in her family's business as a real estate agent. A large company is wanting to buy property in Keaton which would be a boost to the small towns economy. Abby feels like things are moving along pretty smoothly, with the property sale, until it becomes a battle of the land. But it also becomes a personal battle as well. One deeply rooted in secrets. As Abby and Caleb work together to try and figure it all out, feelings between them begin to stir. Will those feelings and their faith be strong enough to carry them through everything they'll face?
Love, betrayal, forgiveness and, as the title indicates, Secrets, all come to mind when I think about this story! It gets off to a running start and holds your attention all the way to the end. One thing I always appreciate about this authors work, besides the great writing, is the way she keeps you guessing until the very end. But I've got to tell you, she really surprised me with the twist at the end of this story. I LOVE it when that happens! I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know Caleb (a.k.a. Digger) better. What a great guy. Abby made a fine leading lady. Full of spunk but very tenderhearted and loyal. Her two boys were full of personality too! There was a spiritual thread running through the story which felt very natural and dealt a lot with forgiveness. A message we can't hear often enough. This was a great installment to the Wounded Heroes series. It can be read as a stand alone but I would highly recommend the others books in the series: Kill Shot, Trespasses and Betrayal. I look forward, with great anticipation, to Vengeance! I also want to mention that I love the book covers for this series. They just make you want to read the story!

Caleb a wounded veteran finding a job with his brother, a private investigator, doing surveillance on a woman. The father in law wanting information, someone also has a deadly target on her. Learning in the army things are never what they seem. For Abby working real estate, wanting to close this big sales. Things are not what she though, they are deadly. A beautiful story that was enriched by Lenore the narration added to this story. Great story that tugs at yiur heart while reading. Showing faith, bravery and second chances. Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
There are mysteries to be solved in this book but not edge-of your-seat, nail-biting suspense. However, that's okay because I wasn't really expecting suspense anyway. The romance is good. So is the surprise plot twist near the end. The author makes some thought provoking comments on maturing faith and the matter of forgiveness.
I loved this one! A story of family betrayal, of secrets- a story of mystery. Trying to forgive, even though it seems it is unforgivable! Of God speaking Truth into a life! I recommend this book to any who enjoy this genre!
