The assignment was simple: Extract the hostage. Take out all hostiles. Relocate the hostage to a safe house. The assignment was simple… Until it wasn’t.
Roze is a mafia princess, but she doesn’t live in that world. Innocent, young, and naïve, she’s become mine to protect. Just a broken girl looking for some humanity, and a man with nothing left to give. Yet, she’s the light to my dark and my soul yearns for her.
Lines are about to be crossed. Morals burned to the ground. She’s the first thing I’ve wanted in forever, and I’m not about to walk away.
God help me.
This is a dark romantic suspense and trigger warnings may apply. Can be read as a standalone.
Redeeming dark and dangerous heroes one book at a time. Skye Jones is an award winning and USA Today Bestselling Author. She writes dark mafia and contemporary romance as SR Jones, and angsty paranormal romance as Skye.
When not writing Skye can be found reading, dog herding, or watching gritty dramas on Netflix with her husband. She lives in the grey, windswept north of England, which fuels her taste for the dramatic and the gothic.
ღ Roze Muka, a mafia princess. The daughter of a high up member of a loose grouping called The Starz Allianz. Her father, Gezim Muka is about to take over the alliance cuz the previous leader, a fool called Janusz Nowak is now dead.
Roze is not your typical mafia princess…. She is living the dream life away from her father and his organization. but now it seems he’s pushed his luck too far, and Roze is the one paying the price.
Priest - his first assignment for a new company specializing in close protection of extremely high worth individuals and more specialized jobs, Hostage extraction.
His assignment is to extract her from the enemies clutches and detain her until he can safely move her to a safer location out of the country Roze is caught up in a veritable mob turf war now, with six-and-a-half-feet Ex-Navy SEAL, and all she can think about is how she can climb this sexy giant of man
Priest -is having trouble focusing on his sexy bratty assignment…. All he can think about is how he like to flip her over and spank her Lil ass
Oh, k here are my thoughts on this book: I enjoyed the sexy banner between these two… at times I did get Lil annoyed by Priest’s up and down. Hot and cold moods.
Disclaimer, this is not in any form A Dark Mafia Read….. there really wasn’t much steam to this book! And the attempt at BDSM, somewhat spoil that Lil so called steamy scene for me!
As for the author writing skills besides what I just stated I disliked. I enjoyed the other aspects of her writing skills … as for reading more from this author you’d have to give me some time to get over the bad parts of this book
💖 Hope you enjoy this read 💖
⬇Always remember⬇
📚 Hope you enjoy this read & also always keep in mind this is just my opinion+ Also I wouldn’t never discourage anyone from reading this book.
Whoa! What a wild ride! This is the first book I've read this author, and therefore the first book I've read in this series, but the can be read & understood as a total stand-alone! Plus the action was non stop intense!
So Roze was taken captive as a pawn in the mafia war between her father and the other family. She only 19, and has no idea what is going on. Preist is the one set to rescue her, and then continue on guarding her once she's safe again. Neither one of them expected to be attracted to one another in this dangerous situation, nor did Preist anticipate that this young, truly naive young woman would be the one to soften him and silence his demons.
I loved the evolution of Roze -- yes she was really naive, but she was so strong too. And the love she had for Preist, and in turn the love he had for her, was as swoon worthy as it was panty melting. I definitely recommend this!
**I received an ARC of this book and these are my honest opinions!**
I think Priest may be my favourite character yet, not so keen on his lady, a bit naive and not my cup of tea, the other ladies are tough, she seems immature and bratty. The story is great, loads of action and great moments of Mafia and a new character in Giovanni Bianchi , I’m sure he’ll get a book if he hasn’t already.
This did not work for me. The verbiage and interaction with the MCs felt forced. The hero saves the heroine. She is a mafia princess, but has led a sheltered life. She says once she finishes school and gets a job, she will stop depending on her father. She should have gotten a job and tried to do that before, but there is the whole princess and sheltered life thing. She should just do it. She is 20 years old and not a child.
I tried to finish this one, but was never able to connect. The switch in POVs happened too frequently. Just when I was starting to connect to one character, the author switched POVs. You may love it. Reading is subjective.
All Roze wanted was to live her life in peace but being the daughter of a mafioso she knows that she’ll never be able to live in peace and her head will always have a price. Priest has been asked to free Roze from the kidnappers, but he didn’t realize that taking this assignment would change his future.
As Priest & Roze embark on a journey he makes sure to let her know that those googly eyes she keeps making at him will not be reciprocated. He does not believe in being tied down to one woman because he’s married to his job. But being together in this adventure in trying to get Roze back to her father the temptation is to much for Priest and let’s say that things get complicated! A fast-paced story with lots of action and can we say that the chemistry between Priest & Roze sizzling!! And thank you for the Epilogues, giving us a glimpse at what’s next-eek!! Kara~ 4 Stars
The story of Priest and Roze is a story of live at first sight, although they take a long time to act on their feelings. Roze is the daughter of a mob boss and has been kidnapped and Priest is hired by her father to rescue her. For days he will have to keep her safe from constant threats and they will seek refuge in Bianchi’s house( who will soon be Konstantin’s family. I’m looking forward to read those books). But when they are discovered again they will have to travel to the USA together with Cole( who is still looking for Pamela, and everything indicates that it will be the next book to come out). Priest tries to fight his feelings for Roze, first bc of the age-gap, and bc he doesn’t think that he is the right man for her with all his baggage. But in the end he falls hard for her. They are perfect for each other.
“Do you know what I want?” he whispers in my ear before biting the shell. I shake my head. “Control of you. You giving me your surrender.” “I can do that,” I say, then can’t resist adding, for some unknown reason. “If you deserve it.” He laughs. “See, that’s what I fucking love.” “What?” “You. You like giving up control, but not fully. You fight back. Push back.” “And you like that?” I ask as he walks around me as if he’s inspecting me. “It would be boring if you gave it up without a fight, princess.”
I ❤️this author’s books, whenever I start one I know that I’m going to enjoy it big time.
Oh what a heart-stopping sexy and seductive story SR Jones weaves! A romance woven in heat and heart, I felt every bit of pain and pleasure. The Priest made me its prisoner in this page-turning tale that captivates from beginning to end.
This installment set in the Bratva Blood world is a bravely told body guard romance. Deliciously dominant and downright sexy. The all alpha anti-hero with his dirty mouth and protective persona was my undoing. And the heroine is brave as she battles monsters. The chemistry that blazed and burned between the hero and heroine was energizing and enticing, a pulse that pounded the pages. Roze and Priest are magical together, a lethal mix of dark and light.
The Priest is a rush of a romance that brings the thunder, a tale that is as tender as it is thrilling. Fierce, forbidden, and full of heat and heart. SE Jones continues to enthrall with her mafia romances. The Bravka world books have quickly become my adrenaline and addiction.
I look forward, every single time, to see what SR Jones does with her next book, and every single time her stories are written to perfection. So it goes without saying that The Priest is just as deliciously dark and exciting as I've come to expect from her. Roze Muka is the daughter of Gezim Muka, Head of The Starz Allianz. Of course that puts a target on her back. When she's kidnapped Priest is the one who's sent in to retrieve her. Of course it doesn't set well with him that an innocent has been caught up in the mess and his attraction to her is even more disconcerting. He has demons of his own to battle so their journey isn't an easy one. Roze is stronger than anticipated and definitely more determined which is exactly what's needed to handle Priest.
I LOVE SR Jones' books. The Priest is no exception. Her mafia/military/security/etc romances are AMAZING! She is also the queen at interweaving her characters between stories. I love that I get to see friends pop up in each other's stories. It makes me insanely happy and The Priest is no exception when it comes to seeing old friends. Now for the story.....I don't even know where to begin. I love Priest and I love Roze and I love their story......their dynamic is amazing and I really appreciate how well SR wrote their chemistry. Because it is off the charts! READ IT! You won't be disappointed
A fast paced story filled with action, suspense, deceit, drama and romance. I absolutely loved this book. The characters were amazing together. The secrets were unbelievable and shocking. The whole story had me captivated from the beginning.
I requested a copy of this book so I could provide an honest review. I’m so glad I did!
I loved reading Roze and Priest’s story. It was filled with action, steam, and sweetness. And did I mention steam? 🥵 Really can’t wait for the mysterious librarian’s story!
This is the first book I’ve read in the series and by this author but I didn’t feel like I lost anything from not reading the previous four books in the series. The characters are well developed and the storyline is intriguing, suspenseful and entertaining. Roze is kidnapped to use against her mafia father. She has been sheltered from the grittier aspects of the lifestyle but it doesn’t prevent her from being kidnapped. Priest is a mercenary hired to extract a hostage but what no one accounts for is the undeniable attraction between Roze and Priest. Will the ex-military Mercenary have anything in common with a Mafia princess? Will her captors have broken and abused Roze to the point of irreparable damage? I can’t wait for this gripping series to continue!!
4.5 stars as always S.R. Jones doesn't disappoint. I loved seeing or at least hearing some of my favourite characters again. Roze and Priest's story was entertaining, steamy, suspenseful and sweet. All the FEELS... I can't wait for Cole's story and Bianchi's as well.
I was on cloud nine when this book appeared on my kindle. Wanna know why? Because this lady has given me some of the best and darkest books of my reading life. S. R. Jones is the dark master. She knows how to write a dark book and has the ability to make you shiver. The Priest is her latest release and it's the fifth book from the Bratva Blood series. And what a series this has been. I totally advise you to read this series from the beginning. You'll see why and won't regret it. This book explores the lives of Priest and Roze. Priest is a mercenary that will do everything that is asked out of him. He takes his job seriously and will do everything to achieve it. When he's given a new job... Roze is a mafia princess that doesn't want to be in that lifestyle. She's a sweet and young girl with a lot of dreams. When she's kidnapped. Oh boy... This book... This book... It was perfect in a dark way. Superb plot, very well written, super engaging, and intense. Each chapter was even more addictive than the latest and I couldn't stop reading it. Once I started it I didn't want it to end. The hot stuff is there as well and will make you blush. I was so into the story that I could feel their emotions as my own. It's perfect how, after so many books, this author has the ability to make me feel so many different emotions. I loved every word and I can't wait for what's about to come. Oh SR... This book is perfect and I can't wait for Cole's book to arrive. Will it take too long? I sure hope not.
The Priest by S.R. Jones is dark romantic suspense. It's the fifth book from the Bratva Blood series.
The Priest was an ex-Navy Seal who had started working with an organization in Russia. They were a mix of Russian Special Forces operators and ex-Bratva who were selling protection to crazy rich people. His new assignment was Roze Muka. A mafia princess who had been kidnapped because of her father. His mission was to get her out of there and protect her. He succeeded, but his plan kind of backfired when they were living together. The undeniable attraction and the growing feelings messed with his head. His life was changing drastically and for the first time in his life, he was happy about it.
It has a nice plot. At first, it's dark, with violence and killings. After that, it's mostly focused on the two main characters and their romance. It's based on love at first sight with sweet and kinky moments. The timeframe of the story is only a few days and it might appear a bit fast-paced. It alternates between some action and romance which was the fact that kept me going. The characters were nice, both had some issues but they fit each other well. Both of them progressed a lot throughout this book.
In general, it's a good book. It's not as dark as I expected but it has a decent storyline that can keep your interest. I will rate it with 3 stars.
Roze is in a bit of a bind. Like literally, she’s bound. The daughter of a mafia boss, she’s been keeping away from the spotlight, going to school, living her life when she was kidnapped to be held as leverage against her father. Scared and the situation elevating by the minute, she’s really hoping there’s going to be some way out of this.
Priest is an ex-SEAL contractor who is sent in to rescue Roze. It’s supposed to be just a job, but it ends up being so much more. He’s older. Broken. He may be keeping her safe, but she may just be the one to save him.
The Priest: Bratva Blood Five is part of the series, but can be read alone. It’s a slow, hot burn. The characters are well developed and wonderful, the story was quick paced all the way until the end. There were great hints to future storylines as well. Can’t wait!
Priest specializes in close protection and hostage extraction. First job at a new company and he is taken by the picture of a mafia princess.
“I’ve taken the job of getting her back because I know I won’t mess it up. Oh, who am I fooling. I took the job for another reason. I saw Roze’s picture and wanted to save her.”
Roze is a pawn in a dangerous game. She is no wimp; she is able to run with Priest with bruised ribs. They snark at each other, but have more in common than they realize. Danger is all around them, and a relationship ignites.
Gripping, entertaining, clever, and sensual; a magnificent story!
**I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book**
Heart pounding, intense and heart-stopping moments lie ahead in the pages of this book. It was a fast-paced twisty rollercoaster ride. Priest was just a hollow shell before his mission. Roze is Priests match and a fiery one at that. They fit perfectly.
I love the initial plot. Yet the more I read, the more I don’t like the story. I’m so sorry. But I think the author needs to learn more from other authors like: - Natasha Knight - Lylah James - JL Beck & C Hallman - Lee Savino & Stasia Black
The plot was great. I enjoyed the savior aspect of it and falling in love in the situation as it turns to something real. But a whole book for three sex scenes. Lame.
I haven’t read any of the previous books, it does say you don’t need to, and I don’t think I’ve missed anything.
Roze might be a mafia princess, but that’s so far from the truth, her father might be a mafia boss, but she has nothing to do with that life (but she’s happy to take the money!) and now her father’s lifestyle sees her a hostage in a horrible place, and by men that give her salacious looks!!
Priest hates waiting, he’s more a man of action, but they need full intel before going in to rescue Roze. He’s been a sailor and now a mercenary, nightmares keep him awake at night, so meditation and reading keeps him balanced (hence his nickname) taking this job isn’t his usual thing, but the picture of Roze called to him, and he knew it would be him to rescue her!
Priest’s job is to retrieve Roze and take out the men who kidnapped her. Easy, the kidnappers are amateurs and Priest is good at his job. Getting her to the safe house was no problem, the problem priest has is Roze herself, she’s looking at him as a hero, as he’s no hero, he needs to nip that in the bud.
The start of the book was fast paced and really well written. Not too gory or graphic, and the rescue was pretty credible (no explosions or James Bond moments) if priest like to work on his own, then quiet and stealth would be more him. Liking Roze, but did it make her a hypocrite to not like daddy’s work, but accepts his money (nice apartment and good college) but being young gives her that childlike logic sometimes.
Spending time with Roze is doing nothing for Priests equilibrium! The scent of her, her brave face, her kindness, they all draw him to her, but he knows nothing can come of it, she’s a job and you don’t mess with a job. But try telling his heart and dick that! His heart is falling for her and the other part of him is onboard to give her what she’s hinting at! Then they get the call they were dreading, they are still being tracked! Priest and Roze need to leave the safe house and get somewhere safer.
So can priest get Roze to safety? And then what? Can he really walk away from someone who quietens his demons, from someone who lightens his days and makes him want to be a better man?
This is the1st time I have read this author so this is the 1st book in the series I read... Lol I know that is weird but I read it because it said stand alone and it sounded good. I read this thru Kindle Unlimited and bought it for myself after I finished it. The author gave me enough info that I could keep along with the story. There were a lot of different names that came up and that became a little info overload but overall I got the story. When Priest described the different factions, I copied the passages and pasted them in my notes and would reread them until I got the understanding, lol. I have to admit it took me a bit to finish the 1st half because I got so tired of Priest not getting with Roze, lol, I honestly felt they were never going to get together. I think I am getting burned out with these Heroes taking so long to accept their feelings and making these women theirs.😋 I loved Chapter 13, I was like YES!!! Finally a man accepting his feelings and ready to fight for her at 40 something % but then of course he completely waffled and it was still chapters later😠When I got to the middle of Chapter 14 I was like dang same story different day which is why it took me a week to read it. I would read a couple of paragraphs and get so upset with Priest that I would read another book and come back but I LOVED IT WHEN THEY FINALLLLLY GOT TOGETHER❤️❤️ Some s.ex.y times😍 I had a hard time putting it down when they got together. I will be reading other books by this author though I am thinking that they are those slow to get together type of books. I am not asking for them to get together from the get go but I really love books where they don't take a half of book or 60% before he gets off his rear-end and finally admits he wants her and d.amn the consequences!! She will be mine!!!😜 I mean they can still have angst and all that but still be like I am not letting her go...lol Of course the woman has to have deep feelings for the Hero which Roze did.😍 I recommend this book and loved both characters and can't wait to read Bianchi and the librarian and that series.
THE PRIEST is A Dark Mafia Romance & #5 in the Bratva Blood Series. It can be read as a standalone. It was the blurb that caught my attention and made me want to read it. The cover didn't hurt either. I was hooked from the very beginning. There is lots of suspense including violence, so be warned if that is a trigger for you.
Roze Muka is a Mafia Princess or her father likes to call her Principessa, which means Princess in Italian. Her mother had died when Roze was very young, leaving her father as all the family she had left. Her father is Gezim Muka, a high up member of a group called The Star Allianz. He is Mafia, an organized crime lord, and it seems he's pushed his luck too far this time. His daughter & only child is the one paying the price. Roze has been kidnapped and held as a hostage. The four ruthless men who took her are now waiting to hear from their leader to see if she lives or dies or what awful fate awaits her.
Priest is a mercenary hired to do a hostage extraction. This was just another job for him, until he saw Roze's picture and wanted to be the one to save her. He didn't know why, but her face was such a mix of beauty, innocence, and sadness that it called to him. He took on four men alone and saved the day for the princess. She looked at him once and he became her hero. He was the only one, she just knew, that could keep her safe and hopefully never would leave her side. He tried to keep their time together professional, but it wasn't working too well. He was sure being thirteen years older than she was, too old for her. Yet, she wouldn't leave him alone and wore him down. She begged & pleaded for just one kiss. She had kept pushing, and then asked him to kiss her. That “KISS” would change the dynamics of their entire relationship. Priest figured after that “KISS” Roze had sealed her own fate. She was now his. But they were dealing with the Mafia, so the danger was far from over!
Oh I really like these two Roze is a Mafia princess, not that she likes being that. She’s heard rumours what her father does and she hates it. So she has tried to better herself going to college and doing well. But then she got kidnapped and it was awful. The men that had taken her were disgusting, vile smelly men who you could see they just wanted to hurt her. She had no idea what her father had done but she know she was here because of him. But it seems like her father didn’t care about her because he Wasn’t giving them what they wanted. She just hoped there was somebody coming for her. Priest was a mercenary and he had been assigned a hostage extraction. It had taken them two days to find her. Priest knew he was going to get her out of there alive. As he made his way into the complex he realised he was just-in-time before they were going to seriously hurt her. And quickly retrieved her trainers and told her she would have to run. When they Got to the safe house Priest had to check for injuries and he couldn’t believe what he saw. They had really beat her. He saw Roze in a different eye then knowing that she had run so far with the injury she had. But what worried priest was the way that she looked at him, like he was her hero. Priest knew he was no-one’s hero. But the problem was he was attracted to her too but he had to fight not only her but himself. Firstly he needed to keep her safe and then he needed to get her back to her father because he had nothing to offer this woman. I really enjoyed these too. Priest is so strong, big and so dangerous but with Roze he was anything but gentle Until she insisted he be himself and take what he needed. And who would of guessed that Roze needed that too. This is a brilliant and I just couldn’t put it down I can’t wait for SR Jones next book
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
“I want her and that kiss, that fucking kiss means I’m going to have her. Roze thinks I’ve been backing off because my wall is too thick and too high for her to scale. She’s wrong. I’ve been backing off because if I take her, she’s going to be behind that wall with me. Mine. Woven into the very fabric of my being.”
I was drawn into reading The Priest by the cover and after reading the blurb, I knew I had to give this author a try. Although I hadn’t read any of Ms Jones books prior to picking up this one, I never felt lost in the story so it can be read as a standalone. Some people might think that Priest and Roze’s relationship is a case of hero complex, but I’m not sure that it was. This book had it all action, drama, steam and alpha males.
Roze is a mafioso princess, who got caught between a splintered faction and finds herself captive as the bait to lure her father out. As her time runs out, she is faced with the brutal reality of her fathers lifestyle. She’s innocent and naive, studying criminal psychology, but the irony is she is the victim. Roze has been spoilt, she’s bratty but at the same time she is quite mature. It’s not surprising given she has been brought up by people other than her father.
Priest is a mercenary, his heart bears bruises and scars, his mind doesn’t sleep and he finds solace in meditation. An ex Navy Seal, he’s found his place with a group of people who extract and protect assets. His job is to get Roze out and protect her until it’s safe for her to be returned to her father. He takes his job seriously, has built fortification around himself for protection and will not take a chance on the beautiful asset he has extracted. She’s looking at him like he hung the moon, it’s a case of hero worship and he won’t be tempted.
Roze Muka is 19 years old when she is taken captive as a pawn in a war that her dad is waging with an opposite faction within the Starz Alliance. Her father, Gezim, is part of the Mafia, and although Roze knows nothing that is happening she has found herself in a dangerous situation. Priest is the man that is involved with extracting Roze from the house where she is being held and then protecting her until it is safe for her to return home. Priest has his own demons yet there is something about the innocence of Roze that seems to ease his mind. Yet it is clear that the two are still in a lot of danger and they must figure out who they can trust. Roze was caught in a terrible situation only because she had been born into a dangerous lifestyle. She had very strong opinions about things and she was prepared to give up her relationship with her dad if she found out that he was doing certain criminal activities. Roze was a little naïve but at the same time had a sixth sense because of the environment she grew up in. Priest had his own demons, especially when he tried to sleep but being around Roze seemed to offer him some peace. It was clear that he had been through a lot in the past and had so much guilt and PTSD because of it. Yet he was determined to keep Roze safe by all means necessary. There was so much chemistry between Roze and Priest but Priest had some valid concerns. He was concerned about the fact that it was his job to keep her safe, she was young, and also that she viewed him as a hero, which he didn't feel like he was. He thought the real him maybe a letdown to what she had made up in her mind. This was a fast-paced read with intense chemistry, loads of drama and suspense, and lots of steam. I love this entire series and this was a great addition.
