Fast paced horror
This fast paced novella by Armand Rosamilia is almost impossible to put down. He doesn’t mince words and gets right down to it. Follow Akira and Eddie as they try to unravel the mystery of Akira’s missing parents on a crumbling, abandoned and often deadly island. I’ll be reading a lot more of Armand’s work in the future. A great read. 👍

Greed, power and corruption are behind what happens when a long abandoned island in Japan with a dark and tragic past is now being cleared to re-open as an amusement park, believe me, there is nothing amusing about this island. The phrase "Let sleeping dogs lay" comes to mind. People are disappearing without a trace and yet the powers that be send more people or should I say victims are sent to find answers. I recommend this terrifying tale to any fan of the horror/creature genres.

Well, this was a fun little read.
The critters are nicely done - the characters are even better. I was nicely invested in their survival...or demise when I hated them lol.
Fast moving and it had a few surprises here and there.
I'll admit that I would have liked the book to be longer - maybe add a bit more history and a bit more after, but it was a satisfying read and I really enjoyed it!

This was a fun read. The author has a way of writing visually. It’s a fast-paced, good story that can be read in a day. The characters I found most intriguing were The Texan and Kris Scarlet. I’d like to read more about them.

A fun, pulpy (in a good way) story about an abandoned island off the coast of Japan whose monstrous inhabitants don't take kindly to the efforts of a pair of unscrupulous businessmen to exploit it.
There are some great character-focused moments and dramatic set pieces that keep the story moving at a brisk and satisfying pace, with nice flourishes of action and horror that to me felt perfectly placed, and not too excessive or sparse. I particularly enjoyed and appreciated the use of a real-world location and the nod to its historical significance as a foundational element of the narrative, which tied in perfectly with the overall themes of hubris and exploitation.
There were a few things I didn't love, including a borderline-magical and highly-improbable use of technology to make a problem quickly go away, some sketchy "horror movie" logic and behaviors, and the tale's rather abrupt ending, which, while functional and thematically appropriate, left me wishing it had played out a bit differently.
Still, all things considered, I had a good time with "Abandoned" and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone seeking a quick creature feature with some quality elements that help it stand out from the pack.

Weird, mysterious island, with a past history of people going missing, and a recent couple going missing on the island itself. A wealthy business owner who owned it at a partner with one of the people that recently went missing with the intention of turning the island into a resort. He sends in a ship full of workers to tear down buildings and begin getting the island ready for new construction. Members of the crew start going missing, and the son of the missing couple decides to go to the island to look for his parents. Will he or the rich business man discover what is behind the mysterious disappearances?
A short, quick read, there is gore, so if that bugs you, don't pick this one up. I read it in under a couple hours. I enjoyed it and found it entertaining. Something about missing people, and mysterious circumstances tend to draw me in.

Decent quick read
Not big on details, this book was more like watching a movie, rather than actually reading a book. just a quick surface read. I enjoyed reading this as a time filler however, the ending was horrible.
