'The Fire in a Woman's Belly 1' is about surviving and healing from narcissistic abuse. The poetry moves through the landscape of anger by addressing it and feeling its power, to a quest of transmuting the wounds into beauty caused by the narcissist; and lastly, transforming it through a level of awareness that gives inner strength and a deeper understanding of oneself. This is for any woman who's healing from the abuse of a narcissist.
I am a spiritual blogger, a single mom, a private caregiver, and Indie author. In my poetry book collection, The Fire in a Woman's Belly, I focus on healing, release, hope, and self-love from betrayal and abuse. In my memoir, Shedding the Wife: a spiritual journey through divorce, I share my Dark Night of The Soul in a very raw, authentic way- not holding anything back. Through my ordeal, I have found healing from narcissistic abuse and forgiveness by being vigilant in prayer, meditation, yoga, journaling, and dream work. I hope my writing inspires other women to heal their wounds through a spiritual practice that serves them in their everyday lives.
📚Review: I have heard people say all the time that anger is a negative emotion, it may be true. I always found it to be the result of all the negativity and bad things that world throws at us. there is also the factor of how a person channels their anger. And I would say, without a doubt, that author Madison Meadows has done it beautifully in her new book of poems, The Fire in a Woman’s Belly. There are so many sacrifices that a girl or a woman makes in her life. What’s more disturbing to me is that the world not only accepts these without acknowledging them, it also expects them to give up a part of them, because that’s what is right, apparently. It’s the same story for every woman. I appreciate the author for telling a story through her poems and hopefully her words will open some eyes.
📚My favorite poem on the book has to be, I miss me. We all get to a point in life, where what we love to do becomes secondary to what we do, or need to do. And though we need to do what we love to do, that’s mostly not the case. The poem is an ode to things that we miss about ourselves that we’ve left behind. I could connect with many of her poems but this one stood out for me and I know will stay with me for a long time.
📚I recommend the book to all my fellow readers. I am sure that they will find the author’s words relatable and will connect to her feelings. Get your copies today and don’t forget to share with your friends.
