Rate this book
In fast-paced and frantic modern times, Christian teens are becoming increasingly overwhelmed by the problems, challenges, and temptations of life. Many teens feel completely lost in life because they also feel unloved, guilty, worthless, weak, alone, anxious, and afraid. Before they know it, teens quickly become so overwhelmed that these feelings can become their new reality and identity. Teens become so lost that they can't answer one crucial question, "Whom am I?" This book seeks to help teens understand clearly the answer to that question. Dr. Phil Huebner writes from his extensive experience with teens and families as he takes teens back to the facts of Christianity. This book will help teens to understand that their identity can be found in Jesus Christ and the facts of who he is, what he has done, and what he has said. Those facts will provide a sure foundation for life and in turn will bring true feelings of happiness, joy, and peace. Teens who read this book will find help in living with certainty and confidence because they know the answer to the question, "Who am I?"

I have yet to find a book that so clearly gets to the heart of teens and brings them the good news of Jesus that they so desperately need to hear. Every teen, especially every Christian teen, needs to read this book. I would make the same recommendation for anyone who is searching for their true identity. I look forward to sharing this with the teens in my life.

This book is written specifically for teens. How can teens know who they are and what they are meant to be? The subtitle is: understanding your identity in Christ through facts not feelings.
One reason that teens seem to be struggling so much in the current culture is that it seems as if everything is acceptable, and however you feel about something is okay. But that is a shaky foundation to stand on, and many teens struggle to know who they are.

The main sections in this book are Understanding your identity, Applying your identity, and Your identity now and forever. The second part is especially applicable, with chapters like I feel unloved v. I am loved; I feel anxious v. I am reassured, I feel afraid v. I am at peace. I am well past a teenager, and yet reading these chapters reassured me.

Feelings can change and come and go, but the fact of God's love stands firm forever. He does not change, and neither do his promises in the Bible.

My only "problem" with this book is the cover. It looks like some sort of Avatar creature with a blue face; not especially appealing to teenagers.
